Mistwatcher gave a soft smile while watching Amberstep, looking up at Honeyteller. “I’m fine, thank you. I just had some prey a short time ago, and Ospreypaw can fetch some when Amberstep wakes. Willowbird can switch out with me later, anyways, or Mothlight.” He quieted, sighing before straightening and moving to get more cobwebs. “Anyways, don’t you need to tell the rest of the Clan on when to visit Amberstep? I have no doubt that many of them are worried about her.”

Icetail knew that sooner or later he would tell Mothlight about his entire idea. His idea to rid the Clan of Honeyteller, especially when something happened and she showed to be an inadequate leader. If it came down to it Icetail would do something to show the Clan that his sister just wasn’t able to successfully lead her Clan. But for now Icetail was going to keep the rest of his ideas to himself. Mothlight would know sooner or later, though. All his thoughts faded away when he heard the she-cat’s purr. The white tom followed with his own, a sound that was rusty and odd coming from Icetail. ”I forgot about the chipmunk,” Icetail mewed honestly, laughing softly. He then reached forward and took a clean bite.
- - -
Honeyteller nodded in understanding to the healer. She nodded once more, understanding that Mistwatcher was right - the Clan needed to know about Amberstep and her health right now. With a flick of her tail the she-cat turned on her paws to begin heading out; however, she stopped, ears angling forward as she turned to look behind her shoulder to Mistwatcher once more. ”If anything happens to her,” Honeyteller was no longer looking at Mistwatcher but at Amberstep with a thousand emotions swirling over her face, ”please get me. I want to be there for her.”

Mistwatcher took a long look at Honeyteller, pausing replacing the cobwebs to see how she looked at her Elite. He could swear that there was something more there, something too close to even speak about, and he dipped his head deeply even though she wasn't even looking at him. "Of course, Honeyteller," he murmured. "In rain, sun, or wind, I will tell you. Even if you may be out, joining a patrol. Please check in with Amberstep whenever you'd like, too. I think she would like the company while she's unable to actively help the Clan." He had a small smile on his face when he looked up. "I wouldn't doubt that she would argue to be up and about every time she wakes, too. At least we can remind her that you ordered her to stay, hmm?"

Mothlight had no idea what Icetail's intentions were regarding Honeyteller. The mottled she-cat knew that he was ambitious and had always wanted to be omen-teller, but not to the full extent of what it was. She just thought that Icetail was like everyone else wanting to be leader, but maybe amplified just a bit. The she-cat didn't doubt that he would make a good omen-teller, but now wasn't his time. Whenever his time was, if there was one for him, the clan would know.
The black and golden she-cat gave a small chuckle at his words. "I did too." She mused, flicking the tip of her tail against the ground in thought. She couldn't stop thinking about why Icetail had brought this up to her. "Hey Icetail?" She asked, finally speaking up. "Why did you ask me about what I thought of Honeyteller, anyway?"

Soothawk made his way toward the river, only stopping when the strong scent of squirrel flooded past him. The tom had wanted to hunt mainly down by the river, but he wasn't going to reject a piece of prey that made itself clear before then. The tom waved his tail to Dandelionmilk, signaling what he was about to do. The large tabby crouched, slinking his way in the direction of the squirrel, ears swiveling every so often as he tried to pick up its sounds. Finally, he saw it a few feet away. Silently, he crept forward, then suddenly, he ran at the small mammal. Quickly, he grabbed it in his jaws and administered the killing bite, standing up tall once more when it went limp. Soothawk turned and padded back to Dandelionmilk, signaling with his tail once more that he was headed back toward the river.

[ O: that drawing is really good, rusheh <3 ]
It was relieving to know that Mistwatcher would get her if anything were to happen with Amberstep. If anything went wrong, if Amberstep caught infection or if she began to decline for some reason, then Honeyteller wanted to know as soon as possible. She wanted to be there for her elite. Knowing that Mistwatcher would come for her should something change made the she-cat all the more relaxed at the idea of going out and doing something outside of the healers’ den where she wouldn’t have to keep an eye on Amberstep at all times. Now the omen-teller could leave the den relaxed. ”Thank you, Mistwatcher. I appreciate it. Oh yes, tell her that she is to stay in this den until she is fit enough to walk around camp.” Once the words slipped off her tongue, Honeyteller offered one more smile at the gray and white tomcat before slipping out of the den, relieved that she had somebody willing to let her know what was going on with her elite.
- - -
The ears of the white tomcat perked forward when he heard Mothlight call out his name. Swiping his tongue around his jaws after having taken a bite of the chipmunk, Icetail turned his amber gaze on the she-cat. At her question the elite felt his tail twitch in thought. What should he tell her? How could he explain? Soon, he had the answer, proud of himself that it popped up so naturally into his mind. ”I want to eventually know the consensus of how the Clan feels about Honeyteller. I thought it would be easy to start with you, you know? You’re pretty open about things, at least to me.” There was an unspoken statement in his words. He was pretty open to her as well, and always would be. Even if Mothlight had her heart on another tom, or Icetail at least thought she still had her heart out for her deceased mate, Icetail would always be open and there for the tortoiseshell.

When Soothawk approached Dandelionmilk, he quickly caught her smile and returned one of his own, though it was mostly covered by the pelt of the squirrel. The dark gray tom stepped by her side as they walked forward, not wanting to leave the she-cat behind. He was generally a cat that went about his way in silence, though he wanted to make sure that Dandelionmilk was alright. She was a smaller she-cat, and while Soothawk knew she was perfectly capable of fending for herself, he felt the need to watch over her.

[ ah thanks Feath ]
Mothlight nodded silently when Icetail spoke, unsure of what to gather from his answer. It was a bit odd that he wanted to know the general opinions of Honeyteller, but maybe it wasn't. They were siblings, after all, and he was an Elite. Maybe the tom just needed to know incase he felt he needed to talk to Honeyteller about it.
The tortoiseshell she-cat was about to say something else to Icetail, when she noticed Honeytellr out of the corner of her eye. Sitting up, Mothlight looked between Icetail and Honeyteller, unsure of what to do. If Honeyteller was leaving the healer's den, that meant that something might be going on with Amberstep. Deciding that her duties as a healer came first, Mothlight stood up, gently flicking her tail over Icetail's snowy white ear. "I'll be right back.." She murmured. "Feel free to wait up if you want, but if not you can go ahead and do your other duties." There was a small twinge of amusement in her voice at the latter statement. She had never known how to go about telling someone that they didn't have to wait around for her, and she couldn't help but be amused at herself.
Bounding off, the healer trotted up to Honeyteller. "Hello Honeyteller." She mewed. "How is Amberstep? I haven't been in there to check on her since before you went in."

When the river came into view, Soothawk flicked his ears back for a moment. The tom had never been completely water confident, but that was what this practice was for. When he got closer to the water, the tom buried his squirrel and looked over at Dandelionmilk, tipping his head at her. "Are you okay?" He asked, noticing her nervousness. He imagined it was because of the water, and he couldn't blame her. The current could be scary for a cat that didn't know how to swim, but luckily he could well enough incase something happened and he had to save himself.

[ If I poof it's because my power has gone out. It's storming really really bad over here. ]
---
Soothawk followed Dandelionmilk, sitting beside her on the river bank. The tom looked down into the water, looking at his rippling reflection. He was a bit hesitant to fish, especially with another cat with him, but there was no turning back now. Soothawk watched the water before finally looking back over at Dandelionmilk, catching her right as she began talking to him.
A bit taken aback by the she-cat's sudden burst of expression, Soothawk blinked. He was unable to answer for a moment. The tom parted his maw, before closing it and shaking his head. He didn't want to say something that might turn the she-cat away. "Because I care about my clanmates." He answered finally, watching her steadily with his pale green eyes. "I care about what's going on with all of my clanmates, including you. And obviously something is going on since you keep acting restless and uneasy.

Soothawk blinked. He wasn't sure what Dandelionmilk meant by saying it was a different thing to ask if they were okay, but he couldn't help but disagree. Maybe it was just his personality, but Soothawk was always one that made sure others were alright. In his mind, it was part of the fellowship of a clan. They were all there to be there for each other. And while some might be closer than others, it didn't excuse the fact that they were all to be a community.
"I ask everyone I come across how they're doing." He responded simply, curling his tail around his paws and looking back into the water. "But maybe you should go see Ripplerain. That might make you feel better."

Soothawk watched the water in silence. Before long, he saw a shadow under the surface, squirming its way through the flowing water. The tom thrust his paw into the water, but was caught by surprise when the fish was snatched up by Dandelionmilk. The tom gave a small snort, though there was a smile on his face. "Good catch." He complimented, pulling his paw from the water and shaking the excess droplets away, sending them flying through the damp air. "Maybe you should teach me how to fish. You're good- much better than me." The tom's words were coated in truth. The she-cat was quick, a skill that was required when dealing with fish. That was something the tom could only wish he had. While he was quick, he wasn't quick enough. His large frame was better suited for fighting or climbing. Fish weren't exactly his forte, but it was something he was trying to become better at.

What was this? A sudden change of subject and a shift of who Mothlight had her attention on caused Icetail to draw in a deep breath of air, his tail-tip twitching with a silent motion of annoyance. He made sure that Mothlight would not be able to see his negative emotion. It just wasn’t something he wanted the she-cat to take note of. Instead of telling the tortoiseshell to stay with him or not to go, he merely dipped his head and allowed her to tend to her own business. Mothlight was her own cat, he couldn’t just control her and keep her away from what she wanted to do. What was the point in that? ”I’ll stay here for a bit. If nothing happens I’ll be waiting for you.” And by nothing happening he meant no sudden fox attacks or anything of the sort. With that being said he watched the healer bound off to Honeyteller. Of all the cats she was leaving him for…
The soft voice of Mothlight caught Honeyteller’s attention. The white and ginger she-cat paused in her steps as she turned to greet the tortoiseshell. A subtle smile slipped over her maw. ”She’s doing well. Mistwatcher patched up her wounds well. Right now she’s asleep, but she’ll be stubborn when she wakes up.” Honeyteller’s whiskers twitched in amusement at the thought of that. Amberstep would be Amberstep. ”Don’t let her talk you into letting her outside the den. I’m sure she’d fox her way out of there if she could.”

[ I'm at the library right now since my power is still off, so after this reply I'm not sure when I'll be back on today^^ ]
--- [ sorry this sucks;;]
Soothawk gave a small chuckled at the she-cat, playfully flicking his tail against her shoulder. "I think anyone is better than me." He admitted, flicking his ears. "And like you said, it takes practice." His words were playful as he teased the cream colored she-cat. This was the first time Soothawk had really hung out with the she-cat and he was quickly finding out how kind she was.
~~
Give their conversation, Mothlight knew that Icetail would be less than thrilled with her going to talk to Honeyteller, but it had to be. In this clan she was not only a friend but a healer, and she had a job to do. She couldn't let her personal interactions get in the way of that. When she stood up, the lean she-cat looked back at Icetail and nodded. With him waiting for her, Mothlight knew she couldn't take too long. She was certain that this conversation would go by quickly, anyway.
Trotting up to Honeyteller, Mothlight dipped her head in greeting before she began talking to the she-cat. She had always been one to give great respect to the omen-tellers. After all, they held all of the power in their paws. Mothlight gave a sigh of relief when Honeyteller confirmed that Amberstep was doing well. "Oh I'm glad." She mewed, twitching her whiskers in thrill. "Her wounds were so bad that it took both Mistwatcher and I to begin patching her up.." Her words were quiet and trailed off. As bad as AMberstep's wounds were, the anger she-cat was strong. "But I have no doubt that she'll make a full recovery." She added quickly, giving Honeyteller a smile. She knew how close the two she-cats were and she didn't want to worry Honeyteller with negative thoughts. At Honeytellewr's command, Mothlight dipped her head, a smile spreading across her maw. "Of course not." She mewed, flicking her tail in mirth. "Luckily she has multiple healers looking after her so she'd have to come up with a grand plan to escape all of us!"

Soothawk raised his brow at Dandelionmilk. "You're on." He mused. The tom looked back at the water, studying it's shadows being cast across. Between the reflections of trees, himself, and Dandelionmilk, watching for fish was difficult. He knew there were excellent fishers in the clan, such as Falconmist, and he had no idea how she managed to do it. Whether it was body type or sheer skill, Soothawk couldn't figure it out.
Before long, the tabby tom saw a wriggling fish underneath the surface of the water. Taking note of his own shadow, the tom thrust his paw into the cool water quickly, claws unsheathed. He felt his paw rake across the fish and he jerked up, taking the slippery animal with him. He gave a small hiss and bit down on it, killing it instantaneously. The tom gave a satisfied smile and placed the fish down next to Dandelionmilk. "Not perfect but good enough." He mused.

It wasn’t until now that Honeyteller noticed the familiar pelt of her brother in the background. He was silently gazing over at the two she-cats with his deep amber gaze. Most of the time he was glancing at Mothlight; it was obvious, and it had been obvious for a long time, that Icetail was still pining after the tortoiseshell healer. The two would be cute together, they really would, but it wasn’t any of Honeyteller’s business if they did or not. Mothlight had had a mate already, and just because he was now with the Givers didn’t mean Mothlight was seeking another. Only time would tell how the two ended up - either as mates or simply friends. With the status of Mothlight’s and Icetail’s relationship none of her business, Honeyteller paid mind to what the healer had to say to her. Even if the tortoiseshell was close to her brother Honeyteller enjoyed Mothlight’s company. She was a cat that was easy to get along with and always willing to help. She had provided a good protector for the Clan with her daughter. Everything about the healer was a great joy to have. The omen-teller was proud to have such a cat in her Clan, a cat that was honest, hardworking, and dedicated to her work. On the topic of Amberstep, the omen-teller purred softly, still elated to know that the elite would be just fine. There was a moment where that joy dulled as Mothlight mentioned how terrible Amberstep’s wounds had been, but the joy returned just as soon as it had dulled when the healer went on to say that the ginger female would make a full recovery. ”I’m glad to hear. Don’t let her pull any wild tricks on all of you. Who knows what she might come up with to get out of the den before she should,” teased Honeyteller, laughter dancing in her eyes and upon the rest of her features.

Mothlight let a small laugh at Honeyteller's words. The she-cat was right; it would be of no surprise to anyone if Amberstep were to cut her rehabilitation short. The she-cat was stubborn, a trait that came with both good and bad consequences. But for Amberstep, her headstrong personality had always been used for good, for things that could benefit the clan as well as herself. She was a she-cat to be admired, and Mothlight certainly looked up to her.
"I won't, Honeyteller. I promise." Mothlight purred. The healer glanced back at Icetail, catching his amber gaze for a moment before turning back to the omen-teller. "Well I'll let you get back to what you were doing.." Mothlight mewed. "If you need anything, let me know." With that, the mottle she-cat flicked her ear in farewell to Honeyteller and padded back to Icetail.
"Sorry." Mothlight murmured, settling back down next to the white tom. "I just needed to ask about Amberstep."

Soothawk purred as Dandelionmilk complimented him. "Thank you." He mewed, then went back to watching the water. Before long, another shadow appeared, though he did nothing. He had seen Dandelionmilk getting ready to catch the fish, and he didn't want to take it from her. Silently, the tom watched the she-cat technique. It was certainly something to take note of, and generally probably would have worked, but not this time. Seeing her body fall made Soothawk's heart drop. He wasn't sure what had happened, but now wasn't the time to question it. Quickly, he lunged forward, pushing his face into the rushing water in attempt to grab the scruff of her neck. The toms front paws raked the bank of the river as he desperately tried not to get dragged down as well. Just as he was running out of air he finally felt fur and pulling, silently prayed that it was the scruff of the she-cat's neck and not anything being damaged on her body.

Honeyteller purred with a good nature. She felt her tail twitch with the amusement that was running through her at the moment. Now that the omen-teller was for sure that Amberstep was going to heal and going to be just fine she was more than merry; she was ready to announce to her Clan that the elite would be fine and that visitors would be tolerated, but only at certain times. ”Thank you, Mothlight. That means a lot.” In a gesture of friendliness, Honeyteller reached out and pressed her nose against the other she-cat’s cheek. Before pulling away she whispered, ”I believe Icetail is waiting for you.” Stepping away, Honeyteller dipped her head in farewell. Mothlight was free to do as she wished now, not that she had come to the leader against her will in the first place.
When Mothlight returned, Icetail offered a gentle smile. He purred, his tail swishing out from behind him in a sign of greeting. ”It’s alright. How is she?” The tom asked about Amberstep, wondering how the she-cat was fairing. It would be a terrible day for the Clan to lose such a fine warrior, especially when Icetail had some plans for the heavily scarred elite.

Mothlight gave a small purr as Honeyteller touched her nose to her cheek. "Of course, Honeyteller." She mewed, her voice soft. "If you need anything let me know. I'd be glad to help." She was mainly talking about Amberstep, but the phrase was meant to be taken in regards to anything else, as well. She knew that there were other healers, ones that were better than her, but she still wanted to make herself open to helping. It was her job after all. At Honeyteller's whispered statement, Mothlight felt her fur heating up. Was her's and Icetail's relationship that obvious? Of course they weren't mates or anything of the like, but their spending time together could make it seem that way. Not that Mothlight minded the idea of taking on Icetail as her mate, but at the same time the thought confused her. Part of her didn't know if she was ready for that again. When Honeyteller stepped away, Mothlight swallowed, dipping her head to the ginger and white she-cat before padded away, consumed by her thoughts.
The she-cat smiled at Icetail in return, shaking the thoughts away from her mind. She couldn't let them control her, especially not in front of Icetail. The tom would question her, and how was she to respond to that? Thankfully, Icetail asked about Amberstep and Mothlight was able to get her mind on something else. The mottled she-cat settled down beside the white tom once more, tucking her paws under her chest. "She'll be fine." She mewed with a soft smile. "It might take a bit for her to recover fully, but she should make a full recovery. If she doesn't do anything to compromise it, that is." She added the last statement with a small laugh, hinting at how stubborn he Elite would be to leave the healer's den and return to her normal duties as soon as possible.

Pulling Dandelionmilk up, the dark gray tom scrambled back from the riverbank. He let go of Dandelionmilk, gasping for air. His eyes were blurred with water and he could feel it burning its way from his nose down to his throat. Panting, the tom blinked multiple times, doing his best to free his vision. A bit shaken up, it took him a moment to recover before he turned his attention back to Dandelionmilk. Luckily, there wasn't anything seriously wrong with the she-cat. Soothawk jumped over to her, water droplets flying from her face with every move. "Are you okay?" He breathed, still gasping for air as he stood over her. Unsure of what to do, the tom did the first thing that came to him mind. He rested a front paw on her side, gently kneading at her in hopes that it would help force more water from her.

When Dandelionmilk finally finished coughing, Soothawk pulled his paws away. The tom felt the cool air rushing through the wet fur on his face and shoulders and could only imagine how she must feel. Sitting down, the tom curled around the she-cat, wrapping his tail around his for added warmth. Dandelion milk looked incredibly shaken up, but who wouldn't be? If Soothawk had been just a few moments late to pulling her out, she could have drowned. That wasn't a thought Soothawk wanted to have brought up. The dark gray tom gently rasped his tongue over her wet pelt, doing his best to dry the she-cat off.
