Hollowpaw set the squirrel down and said a quick thanks to StarClan before turning her face back to Scarletpaw, “That was amazing! It came right towards me thanks to you.” She purred, happiness flickering inside her. She was finally starting to feel like an actual apprentice for once, not like some kit being kept in camp because everyone thought she wasn’t capable on her own. “Thank you for helping me, Scarletpaw.” “Sooner or later, you’ll be able to catch prey without anyone even helping you. Not that I wouldn’t, because we’re clanmates and catching prey is the end goal, but!” Scarletpaw padded up to Hollowpaw, nodding firmly. “Silentflare’s missing out on alot of potential with you if he’s not having you catch all kinds of prey by now.” She admitted with a small scoff. “And don’t mention it. Now you can rub this squirrel in everyone’s face.” She smirked. |

Hollowpaw lifted her head proudly at Scarletpaw’s words, “Can we try and catch some more? I don’t want to go back to camp just yet.” She mewed, feeling a sense of freedom for once. Hollowpaw wanted to make the best of her time out of the camp and try to find a decent amount of prey for the Clan.

Hollowpaw lifted her head proudly at Scarletpaw’s words, “Can we try and catch some more? I don’t want to go back to camp just yet.” She mewed, feeling a sense of freedom for once. Hollowpaw wanted to make the best of her time out of the camp and try to find a decent amount of prey for the Clan. “Hmm. Well, technically I’m supposed to be competing with Yellowpaw right now. Buuut. There was no rule against bringing a partner. So, sure, let’s go catch some more prey.” Scarletpaw thought carefully before flicking her tail with contentment. After all, the clan would look highly upon Hollowpaw hunting well, and on her for helping to train her to do so. “Anywhere you want to go?” |

Hollowpaw flicked her ear as she thought of where to go nest, “We could try the Tallpines. Some prey could be hiding under the pine needles there.” She suggested. It would be harder for her to tell exactly where the prey is, but she didn’t mind the extra challenge.

It would be harder for her to tell exactly where the prey is, but she didn’t mind the extra challenge. “I like the way you think. Let’s test you. Go ahead and lead the way to Tallpines. I want to see how well you can get around with your other senses.” Scarletpaw nodded, looking curiously at Hollowpaw, wanting to see how she was able to tell where she was going. |

“Robinpaw, wait!” Flurrypaw whispered, looking at the she-cat with wide eyes. “If you sneak out to go find him, you’ll get in trouble too. Maybe… we should wait until they come back?” Scarletpaw slowly stalked towards the squirrel, planning her startle carefully. With a sudden burst, she pushed out from the undergrowth and spooked the squirrel. The prey startled, dashing away from the ginger she-cat, and right in Hollowpaw’s direction. “It’s going right towards you!” Scarletpaw called quickly. Robinpaw sighed heavily, and returned to Flurrypaw's side. "You're right. It's too risky." She admitted. |

They better hope they can get back soon, though if Scarletpaw and Yellowpaw are competing to hunt, how do they expect to bring prey into camp with nobody noticing?” Flurrypaw asked, a bit humored by the seemingly mouse-brained thinking of the other apprentices. |

Dovecloud poked her head out from the warrior's den, the soft-spoken she-cat having a hard time falling asleep. Riverclan's news of a possibly unknown creature roaming around made her feel a hint of nerves. She prayed that it was not dangerous, and that whatever it was had moved on.
Sprucetail and Hickoryshade were talking in the corner of camp, the siblings glancing at their clanmates as they spoke to eachother.
Snowdrop groomed her fur slowly, though she stood to her paws, wanting to check on Silentflare. It was lonely at times, knowing she was the only kit left of her litter that was here. She knew it ate her parents up alot, and she feared her younger siblings could never truly understand how much she missed Cometblaze and Glassflower, and how much pain she felt thinking of Shadeclaw.

“Autumnfall I’m confused.” The gray Tom looked back at her. “What are you trying to say.” He spoke. What was she talking about? Wanting both of them? Autumnfall looked at Wolfshadow, taking in a deep breath. “What I’m saying is that I want to be your mate, and I want to be Jaytalon’s mate. And I don’t care if that sounds selfish, maybe it is, maybe it isn’t, but if you ask me who I would choose between the two of you, I don’t have an answer besides both of you. It’s… I know, it sounds confusing, but I guess to me it doesn’t.” She admitted. “I at least wanted to express it. I’m not saying you have to accept it… in fact, I imagine it would be the opposite in both cases, but neither Jaytalon or I want to lose you either. If… if it isn’t something you want, then please know that it won’t make us want to ever make you feel like we’d be leaving you behind…” “Sure, why not. It’s not like I have many hunting partner options anyway, with half the apprentices on missions or half the apprentices not liking the way I talk.” Scarletpaw shrugged, knowing she was fiery and blunt and knowing she liked it that way. Stormeye was chatting lightly with Goldenclaw. The two toms having built a friendship since Stormeye discovered they were related.
Silentflare was sitting by himself, grooming his black fur. He looked at but unkept, a lot on his mind these past few moons.
Wolfshadow watched the two for a long, quiet minute. He nodded slowly before speaking. “I understand… at least I think I understand.” He spoke softly. “We can try.”

She approached the toms, her pale fur fluffed lightly as she mewed. “Er… hey, Goldenclaw, Stormeye…” Snowdrop approached her father, knowing Silentflare’s usual spots in camp. She quietly brushed up to his side, eyes flickering up softly to look at him. “It’s a nice day out… I thought I’d come sit with you, if you’d like. I…” She trailed off. Autumnfall blinked with surprise, though a warm wave crashed over her as she looked at Wolfshadow and breathed. “Oh, that… you’d really be okay with trying? Really, I don’t want you to feel pressured, I just. I really do, genuinely love you both. So much. If you’re willing to try, I promise I’ll make you the happiest toms in the Clan.” She vowed, eyes bright with love for him. She looked back at Jaytalon as well, heart nearly bursting from her chest. |

She chuckled, a bit amused as well as she realized their plan wasn't very foolproof. "They'll definitely get caught." She snickered. |

Admittedly, it was hard seeing Cometblaze fitting so well into Skyclan at the gathering. His kits are apprentices now…” She swallowed. “Is it bad that I hope I get to see him, on the twolegplace patrols?” |

My nest is already right next to both of yours, it’s just… more official, I guess. I want you both to spend as much time together now as you did before, got it? I would never change that.” She promised. |

Jaytalon felt a rush of relief at Wolfshadow’s agreement, glad that he was willing to try something like this. He moved up closer to his friend, looking at him closely, “So, you’re really okay with this then?” He asked.
Hollowpaw lifted her head and scented the air, flicking her ear as she turned her head in the direction of Tallpines. She could recognize the scent of the pines from when Silentflare had taken her around the territory. Giving a nod, she started towards Tallpines, being careful of where she placed her paws.

Scarletpaw padded after Hollowpaw, being quiet for once to not distract the other she-cat from her guiding. It was actually rather nice, to be out with a cat who wasn’t one of her brothers, and who actually seemed to like being out with her. She looked around as they got closer to Tallpines, and finally spoke again.
“Hey, so. Call me out if this is rude to ask, but. What’s it like, being blind? Do you hear things better? Apparently, there’s a blind apprentice in Shadowclan too. I bet you two could talk at the next Gathering, though I certainly have no desire to go anywhere near those frog-smelling Shadowclan cats.” She huffed.

The tom crept on his haunches, following the scent of a squirrel. He grew closer as he made his way through the undergrowth, and finally his target came into sight. He readied himself, and leapt at the squirrel. He caught it without any trouble, luckily, and buried it nearby. So far, he had caught a rabbit and now two squirrels. He didn't care if he got caught, he just wanted to beat Scarletpaw. He had to prove he is the best. However, it was proving to be more of a challenge than he thought. As much as it stung, she decided to stick with her new friend than to try and win against the other tom. But if Hollowpaw was going to catch something else, then they needed to be quiet! "Shh! Hollowpaw's trying to catch prey at Tallpines! You're going to scare everything off!" |

His exhaustion caught up with him, and he flopped down next to her. He had hoped he was winning, though he was doubtful as Scarletpaw had Hollowpaw's help. "Mousebrain, if you scare it all off, then Hollowpaw won't be able to catch anything and show her mousebrained mentor that she can do more than chores." Scarletpaw huffed, though she greeted Yellowpaw with a tap of her tail. She took a deep breath. "Hmph. As much as it annoys me to admit it, you'll probably win this one. Only because I'm feeling nice today and want to help Hollowpaw, got it?" She warned. |

Hollowpaw was about to respond to Scarletpaw’s question when she called out to Yellowpaw. She flicked her ear, cursing herself mentally for not noticing Yellowpaw’s scent in the first place. The blind apprentice had been so focused on finding more prey that she had completely missed it.

While Scarletpaw and Yellowpaw were talking, Hollowpaw had scented the air again. She turned her head towards Tallpines again, “Hey, I can hear some mice scrabbling in the pines over there.” She whispered to the others.
