“Autumnfall I’m confused.” The gray Tom looked back at her. “What are you trying to say.” He spoke. What was she talking about? Wanting both of them? Autumnfall looked at Wolfshadow, taking in a deep breath. “What I’m saying is that I want to be your mate, and I want to be Jaytalon’s mate. And I don’t care if that sounds selfish, maybe it is, maybe it isn’t, but if you ask me who I would choose between the two of you, I don’t have an answer besides both of you. It’s… I know, it sounds confusing, but I guess to me it doesn’t.” She admitted. “I at least wanted to express it. I’m not saying you have to accept it… in fact, I imagine it would be the opposite in both cases, but neither Jaytalon or I want to lose you either. If… if it isn’t something you want, then please know that it won’t make us want to ever make you feel like we’d be leaving you behind…” “Sure, why not. It’s not like I have many hunting partner options anyway, with half the apprentices on missions or half the apprentices not liking the way I talk.” Scarletpaw shrugged, knowing she was fiery and blunt and knowing she liked it that way. She looked at Hollowpaw and nodded. “What’s Silentflare shown you so far?” |

Robinpaw camp
She slinked into the apprentice's den, feeling bitter towards Yellowpaw. She didn't approve of his decision in the slightest, though it wasn't up to her to decide what to do for him. She was sure Lightningpaw was out making smarter decisions, training hard, and staying committed, unlike Yellowpaw. She was filled with a sour feeling, one which she despised. She curled up to take a nap, hoping to rid herself of whatever plagued her. |

“I don’t see anything wrong with the way you talk.” Hollowpaw said, standing back up and stepping around the root that had tripped her up. “No body really talks to me either, besides Sootpaw and Patchpaw.” She flicked her ear and gave a shrug in response to Scarletpaw’s question, “He’s mostly had me work on my tracking and sense of smell. I… haven’t actually caught anything yet.” She admitted, ears flattening against her head.

Flurrypaw had noticed Robinpaw storming into the apprentice’s den. Drizzlepaw was sleeping at his side, but he whispered to Robinpaw quickly. “Psst! Hey! You okay?”
Scarletpaw shook her head sharply, though she was appreciative that Hollowpaw didn’t seem to mind her bluntness. “See, no. Not even having your first catch yet? We are absolutely fixing that, I’m embarrassed on your behalf. Now… your blindness might be the big difficulty here, but I’m not a cat who gives up and I’m deciding that you’re going to catch some prey. So! Track us down some prey with that strong sniffer of yours, and we’ll go from there! Sound good?”

Flurrypaw had noticed Robinpaw storming into the apprentice’s den. Drizzlepaw was sleeping at his side, but he whispered to Robinpaw quickly. “Psst! Hey! You okay?” Scarletpaw shook her head sharply, though she was appreciative that Hollowpaw didn’t seem to mind her bluntness. “See, no. Not even having your first catch yet? We are absolutely fixing that, I’m embarrassed on your behalf. Now… your blindness might be the big difficulty here, but I’m not a cat who gives up and I’m deciding that you’re going to catch some prey. So! Track us down some prey with that strong sniffer of yours, and we’ll go from there! Sound good?” Robinpaw shook her head in frustration. "I'm alright. Yellowpaw is just a fool, that's all." Hollowpaw nodded, giving Scarletpaw a light smile. Lifting her head and opening her mouth slightly, she scented the air, taking in all the scents the forest had to offer. When she had first became an apprentice, it had been overwhelming at first, but now they were as familiar to her as those at camp. She turned her head, pointing her nose, “There’s a squirrel in that direction. And a couple of birds in the same general area too.” Hollowpaw mewed, turning her head back to face Scarletpaw. Her whiskers were twitching in excitement at the thought of finally catching her first piece of prey and she couldn’t wait. Maybe if she did well on this secret hunting trip, Silentflare would see that she was capable of being a warrior.

Robinpaw shook her head in frustration. "I'm alright. Yellowpaw is just a fool, that's all." She said bitterly, looking over at Flurrypaw. She was glad he had noticed her, and it felt a bit better to get everything off her chest. “A fool? What did he do this time?” Flurrypaw rolled onto his belly, looking at his friend with curious eyes. He was friendly with all his fellow apprentices, though he knew Robinpaw could be cross easily when others goofed around too much. "He made a stupid bet with another apprentice, and he could get in trouble." Robinpaw explained, still shaking her head in dismay. She wasn't exactly mad at his challenger, however she couldn't believe him for taking the bet. "Whoever catches more prey wins." She added, slightly muttering under her breath. |

Moving forward carefully, so as not to trip again, Hollowpaw headed towards the squirrel and tried her best to avoid stepping on any twigs that could scare it away. This is a great spot to stand when you’re flushing out prey, right? They can’t get past you! Now, I’m going to rush the squirrel towards you, got it? I’ll even give a good shout when it’s right near you. From there, it’s up to you to hear where the squirrel is. Don’t overthink it, got it? All that matters is landing your strike.” Scarletpaw smirked confidently. “You trust me, Hollowpaw? Cause I don’t break my promises, got it?” |

Hollowpaw let Scarletpaw lead her around to the spot she had picked out and gave another nod, excitement and nervousness making her paws shake lightly. She used her tail and whiskers to help her feel her surroundings and crouched down, turning her face towards the other apprentice, “I trust you, Scarletpaw.” She whispered.

Hollowpaw let Scarletpaw lead her around to the spot she had picked out and gave another nod, excitement and nervousness making her paws shake lightly. She used her tail and whiskers to help her feel her surroundings and crouched down, turning her face towards the other apprentice, “I trust you, Scarletpaw.” She whispered. Scarletpaw didn’t say it outloud, but she did feel a flicker of warmth and contentment that Hollowpaw actually seemed to trust her, and wanted to learn from her, or even just be around her. In return, Scarletpaw was determined to help her get her first catch. She nodded and whispered. “Alright then. Let’s get this squirrel. Get ready.” She quickly slipped off to circle around the trees slowly, keeping her eye on the squirrel as she angled her movements. She wasn’t as skilled as Dawnpaw in hunting just yet, but she was certainly skilled enough. |

“Robinpaw, wait!” Flurrypaw whispered, looking at the she-cat with wide eyes. “If you sneak out to go find him, you’ll get in trouble too. Maybe… we should wait until they come back?”
Scarletpaw slowly stalked towards the squirrel, planning her startle carefully. With a sudden burst, she pushed out from the undergrowth and spooked the squirrel. The prey startled, dashing away from the ginger she-cat, and right in Hollowpaw’s direction.
“It’s going right towards you!” Scarletpaw called quickly.

Seeing its chance, the squirrel tried to wriggle out of Hollowpaw’s claws and let out a squeal. The blind apprentice quickly adjusted herself and managed to bite its neck this time, killing it quickly. Hollowpaw sat up, smiling triumphantly, I did it! She purred, turning towards Scarletpaw and holding the squirrel in her jaws.

Hollowpaw set the squirrel down and said a quick thanks to StarClan before turning her face back to Scarletpaw, “That was amazing! It came right towards me thanks to you.” She purred, happiness flickering inside her. She was finally starting to feel like an actual apprentice for once, not like some kit being kept in camp because everyone thought she wasn’t capable on her own. “Thank you for helping me, Scarletpaw.”
