The cookies turned out INCREDIBLY flat and kinda crispy on the edges, but I think they were okay. My parents liked them, too. ^^
I'm glad it went well! Also, those cupcakes sound great! ^3^
I actually did get the part already! ^-^ I just need to submit the official lines. Hopefully I'll be able to do it using my own computer when I'm alone. My dad does a bit of voice work and so he has a bunch of recording equipment somewhere, but the microphones aren't USB stuff; they need to be attached to a sound board that attaches to the computer or something. My dad offered to help me out when he has the time, but I wouldn't know how to set that stuff up to my computer, so he said I could use his computer with the already set up equipment. But he said that he'd have to be there to direct and help me edit the audio. Not really a fan of that idea. cx, So I'm really hoping he can lend me some of his older equipment to use by myself. I mean, part of the reason why I decided to try voice acting was to get over my self-conciousness, but my plan was baby steps, not huge leaps! Dx
I space out a lot as well. ^^' Especially when I'm listening to people talk. I'll be trying to listen and then my brain'll be like "But wait, what about this? This takes priority over whatever this person is saying!" and then, like, two minutes later, I'll realize "wait this person is still talking CRAP!" ;-; I actually did space out once during the kart driving, hence why I mentioned "don't space out or you'll end up half off the road" because that's exactly what happened to me. ^^' I hope I don't kill everyone while trying to drive a real car! I hope you don't, either! x,D
Haha, I guess brains are most creative when they're tired or something. It's a shame, because I'm not willing to get up and write or draw anything when I come up with something while trying to sleep. Maybe I should just document all of my dreams immediately after waking up and see if anything inspires me to make something.

Congratulations Stream!! That is actually super cool! Having your dad hovering over you doesn't really sound like much fun, but you'll do great!
The only time I can actually concentrate is when I'm actually invested in something I'm reading. I tend to space out even when I'm reading tbh. I think I'd do okay driving, but really, unless I'm invested in either reading or writing, my mind is going to wander.
I once actually wrote a story based on a dream I had. I discarded it because it sucked, but weird things happen in dreams, so it's true that they do help quite a bit. They're at least a starting point if you need any ideas lol.
Also, for my birthday, I decided I might as well just have my friends over for a sleepover. And! My dad might buy me a ps4!

Thank you! ^^
Man, I occasionally space out even when reading. >_< It doesn't happen as often as it does other times, though. I think one of the only times when I don't space out is when I'm playing a video game. ,xD
That's true! I actually looked up if it was common for authors to take ideas from dreams (for some reason Cx) and I found a surprising amount of good stories that were inspired by dreams. Like Frankenstein, for example, and, uhh, that's all I remember. ,xD But still, it was interesting to see.
Ahh, that's so cool! Sleepovers have always seemed so fun! ^^ And wow, that's great! I only really know about Nintendo things myself, but I've heard of some pretty cool games for the PS4!

I hope your recording goes well, Stream!
I space out when reading as well. I'm trying to reread LOTR and those books are very difficult to focus on and sometimes I zone out for a few paragraphs and panic but oh no, it's okay, it's mostly just descriptions of pretty landscapes, I'm good.
I get a lot of ideas from dreams. I'd analyze them and think "wow that was an interesting plot thing, I should use that!" and see if I can integrate it into a story. I did once try to write a story entirely based on a dream I had, but it didn't get very far, because that was before I had better strategies for planning and not abandoning novels.
Sleepovers are always a good decision! I hope you get a PS4! I don't play video games as much as I'd like anymore, but my brother has one, and there are pretty good games there.

I remember the author of twilight based the books off a dreamimeanwhat
When I space out while reading, I end up coming back eventually and I'm just like "what on earth did I miss" so I have to reread like a whole page. Sometimes that doesn't help and I end up missing a few details but oh well. I have a few books I'm supposed to finish reading but oops I keep buying more.
I don't play video games often enough because my games are for my xbox or wii typically, and those are both in my brother's room. My other games are for DS, so I usually use those, but the other ones I rarely get a chance to play because I'm always so cautious about going into my brother's room. PS4 has at least two games that I want to play so ahhhh I hope I get one of those games with the PS4, if my dad does buy me one.

okay time to never trust my dreams again what
I end up reading books over and over again to just find out all the details I missed the first time I read it. I can usually pick up something new every time. I was reading this one book recently and zoned out so much that I'm sure I skipped most of a chapter but it was a really boring chapter from what I remember like why would you include that. ... but then again I wasn't paying attention so if it was interesting I didn't notice. I have so many things I should be reading but I am reading none of them because I am too lazy to buy books and I find library books too gross. I really want to get into books again. I miss being excited about things.
I don't play video games much either. My brother is on his PS4 playing games lots of the time, so I don't really want to play. And I never seem to have the motivation to move from my room to the living room even though it is not that far away and it really should not feel as exhausting as it is. I don't even have the energy to play Pokemon anymore because it takes too much effort to level them all up and if my DS runs low on battery it's too much effort to bring it down to the charging cabinet (because my cats are terrible and will chew cords if I don't hide them in the charging cabinet, except for my laptop cord, thankfully) and if I don't see it I'll forget to play it. I mostly play the Sims 4 nowadays because it requires minimal effort unless I have toddlers, they are so stressful and I never have the energy to play with them. I think the last console game I played was Shadow of Mordor, because I am a huge Elf Nerd. I liked the game and I liked being mad at how the game deviated from canon where it really didn't need to. I am getting so mad about the sequel! I can't wait to complain more about the sequel! Why did they make Shelob a human? Why do you need to do that? Why can't you make your own character? Peter Jackson has more respect for the canon then you and he made the Hobbit movies! ... *ahem*

Oh yeah, I remember seeing Twilight on a list of stories based off of dreams and I was like "oh. welp"I gave up on reading LOTR because I got bored. ^^' I should probably try reading it again, but maaan, I already reeeaaad the first portion. ://// ...I play video games pretty much every day. ^^' Mostly Splatoon. And I get upset because I keep losing. But other than that, it's fun! It's very satisfying to hit people with the sniper weapons.

I don't have the patience for lotr or really any of those like, super popular books. Idk why I'm just like "eh it's too late to read them so whatever." I mostly read books with a pretty good following but aren't like, widespread like Harry Potter.
I neeeed to play more video games. I remember the last video game I played, there was this one battle that took me forever to beat even though I was five whole levels above that boss and I was so mad. And there was a cut scene after the last save point so every time I reloaded I had to go through that cut scene over and over and it was really tedious. But anyway I have a bunch of Zelda, Pokemon, and Ace Attorney DS games that I really should get around to actually playing...

LotR is super difficult to get into because the language is very different, but I love it. I set something like 45 minutes of time to read a chapter and it takes me months to get through a book, haha. The Lord of the Rings is one of those series where it is pretty much everything I love. I love the language, I love the world, I love the characters... It has its flaws (there are like... three named female characters that make an appearance in the book, I think) but it has been around for over sixty years and still popular because it is so good. It is a fantasy epic so of course it has all the battles and long lost kings but it also has beauty and love and sadness, and the heroes are just little folk who want to save their homes... aaaaahhhhhh I love it. The only thing that I don't like is that Tolkien never got to make The Silmarillion into a full series like LotR, because I would die since the Silmarillion is all of that plus more morality issues and tragedy. ... hey did you know I like The Lord of the Rings? I can talk about it forever.
There are lots of popular 9-12 series that I have never read, and can't read now because I'll feel too ashamed, but I feel like I'm missing an important part of everyone's childhood. There are also lots of movies and TV series I haven't seen, and video games I haven't played. I am extremely uncultured and it is shameful.
I think I'm behind on two Pokemon games I've been meaning to play but never got far on. And unskippable cutscenes are so annoying.

So far on my online driving course I have seen:
- a son kill his mother because he crushed her body when they got into a collision because he wasn't wearing a seatbelt - slow-motion depiction of what happens when you hit a pedestrian, live-action - a woman with children in her car run over a small child that ran out onto the street because she was speeding, while the mother watched and then running out and kneeling beside the child's dead body while other mothers and children watched

LOL I think noticed. LOTR is just one of those things where I can get the popular references but I can't be bothered looking into the more obscure ones. Give me a month and I can probably find out everything there is to know about it without ever reading the series, but I don't really want to at this moment lmao. The only reason it takes me months to get through a book is because I don't ever pick it up until I'm really bored. Then I always finish the book within a day. I finished three books in a series and another book in five days once because I had nothing else to do lol. It took five days because I was in NYC. Two of those books were read on the plane to and from. So that was fun.
I get the TV thing. I don't watch TV like, ever, and everything I do watch is usually on Netflix. Or it's an anime, but I don't watch anime much anymore. I like to think that dark part of my past is waaayyy behind me.
Um. I don't think that's the kind of thing people really want to see when they get into a driving class. I feeeel like that's not exactly going to encourage people to actually drive either.

The thing with LotR is that it itself has a lot of really obscure references, since Tolkien was drawing a lot on mythology he created for the Silmarillion, and often times people are referring to that ancient history in the book (singing about it, reciting poems about it, things like the Doors of Moria, etc.) You can probably learn everything mostly about LotR, but it takes a very long time to go through the entire Tolkien universe. I've been obsessed with this for months and I still don't think I know everything there is to know (although I know a lot.) (I... realized halfway through this paragraph that I read your first few sentences incorrectly but I'm too tired to change my response)
I have the same feeling! I automatically go on my laptop and the internet and all that, so I never actually get around to reading books unless I set myself some time to read. In the past... probably a year, wow... I've only picked up one new book that wasn't a part of school. I have a bunch of books that were recommended to me that I've never gotten around to reading even if they're on my shelf. I can't read on planes or on car rides because I get sick easily, so I can't even do that.
I was planning on watching movies today but then my brother took the TV so I'm sitting in my room again. I have problems with picking things to watch, too, and have a lot of problems making decisions even if they're unimportant. Anime's not really my thing; I get too thrown off by the style, I think. (Although I have barely watched any, so I'm not sure if my opinions are educated enough, haha.)
I really don't think that's the kind of thing you'd want to see! I'm guessing it's more of a warning to people who aren't taking driving seriously enough, since there's more of those than there are people who are too scared to drive. Kind of like when the school counselor person came around exam time to our class of over-achieving band students and said "hey you should be more worried about your exams than you are now" even though I am sure that the level of stress most people were under was already extremely high. The videos had a "this video may be disturbing to some viewers" warning, but you kind of have to watch the video to get through the course, and the warning can happen on pictures of car crashes or "this woman just ran over a child now watch it lying dead in the street" videos. ... it's not really a lot of fun.

Lmao. Yeahhh I seriously do not have the patience for lotr and I'd probably lose interest halfway through if I tried to get into it. It's hard for me to get into anything longer than a trilogy. Sometimes I can read in cars but sometimes I can't. Usually I just like to read at home where I'm comfortable and whatnot. Sometimes I don't actually read books for any of my classes. I usually just read summaries online or ask my friends to give me the answers lol. Somehow, I still got an A in my English class. Meh, anime is basically just cartoons in other languages. I'm pretty indecisive, so I just choose whatever my friends suggested to me last. Or I just rewatch shows I've already seen. Mostly, I just go on the internet and procrastinate haha. None of that actually helps. People already stress over whatever it is enough, so they don't need to be reminded more that they need to study, and also watching those driving videos can be potentially harmful to someone. Plus, it just makes them even more paranoid and if they aren't able to stay calm thinking about those, they either a) refuse to actually drive or worry so much that they don't get anywhere.

Yeah, I don't have the patience for anything anymore. LotR is an exception for me because I read it before I lost all my patience and motivation mysteriously and I also love it so much.
I usually read at home too. I don't like to read anywhere at any time I could be interrupted, especially if I'm reading a new thing, because I'll probably leave it for a long time and forget where I was. I kept reading ahead when we read stuff in class, especially with Shakespeare when people were reading it out loud and stumbling over the words while I was multiple scenes ahead. I wish I had used your methods when I read The Old Man and the Sea twice. I am not a fan of Hemingway's writing style at all.
It seems to be more exaggerated than I remember cartoons being? But then again I barely watched any cartoons because, as I said, I am an uncultured child. Either way I also mostly internet-procrastinate as well.
Exactly! Sure, you'll have a handful of people that won't take these things seriously-- and I can get why that would be a problem in driving, because their actions will affect other people (but in exams, it's really not hurting anyone but themselves, and it's their fault, so??)-- but I think that's a bit over the top. I'm already so terrified of driving that I panic whenever I'm behind the wheel, which is not a good mental state to be in when you're driving. The videos really don't help.

I only read ahead if it's interesting enough or the class doesn't read together. Like with Of Mice and Men, the class was reading independently so I finished the book way sooner than anyone else in the class. Otherwise, I either read with the class or I get answers. I haven't read Hemingway, so I wouldn't know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It is really exaggerated, and usually not kid-friendly. It really depends on what you watch. Meanwhile, I watched so many cartoons. I still watch cartoons, if they're good enough.
Well, good luck. Hopefully you can find some way to calm yourself while driving. They really, really should think about changing their ways of getting people to focus in ways that don't include showing them potentially harmful images. I'm sure there are better ways of warning people.

I normally like reading, but when the descriptions just drag on and on... ehhhhh...... I mean, I had to read a certain short story called "Battle with a Cannon" I think(?) for reading/writing class at one point, and it was torture. It was so SLOWW! Okay, I get it, the loose cannon is freaking dangerous and scary! MOVE ON, PLEEEAASE!
I don't typically watch anime, unless it's related to video games. There are four exceptions, though, and three of them seem aimed towards much younger kids. XD They are very entertaining, though. The other one is Ghost Stories. The English dubbed one, to be specific.
Seeing that seems scarring and not encouraging at all. It hope I don't have to see crap like that when I learn how to drive... ,_,
Happy birthday, Dawn! ^-^

For some reason my english teacher last year loved Hemingway so we read I think three of his short stories and The Old Man and the Sea. And I hate his writing style so much! They're all very short choppy sentences and it gets very boring after a while. I get what he's doing, but I just don't like it.
Most recently I went through a video that contained four smaller videos of "people getting in accidents and having to deal with the consequences of murdering people" like one lady who had to stand up in court and admit that she was guilty of killing this guy, and two women who crashed a car and killed a mother while the baby cried in the background.. like, okay, I get it. I know that driving can be really dangerous? Please don't freak me out even more? yikes
Happy birthday, Dawn! Hope it's a good one!

Thanks you two! Sorry I wasn't on at all, I was busy on my birthday with my party and yesterday I was just kind of out of it in a way ^^' It was fun! I didn't get a whole lot of sleep though lol. I did end up getting a PS4!! I went to the basement to clean up and I found a ps4 game and with more searching I found the ps4 in my parents' room and it was amazing. I had to pretend I didn't find it earlier when I opened presents haha.
Ugh I hate stories that are just super slow. A chapter or two of build up is fine, but after three chapters, I lose interest if it hasn't gotten into the actual plot. Also I can't stand it when I have to read things that aren't even stories because my teacher made us read about modernism and autobiographies and it was the most boring thing. I officially hate Harold Bloom. Non-linear narratives are pretty annoying too. Honors English 10 was not always a fun class.
That's not helping! At all! Who is running these schools???? No seriously, why do they think that's a good idea???? At all?????? Good luck with all of that, ugh.

I'm glad you had fun! And yeah, nobody ever gets any sleep during sleepovers. And I'm glad you got the PS4! What game did you get with it?
Yeah, I agree. I'm guilty of making a few slow stories myself, but I'm working on it. And oh no, autobiographies are terrible. I mean, it's a real life? You can't even analyze story techniques and stuff in an autobiography because real life doesn't work that way? I think non-linear narratives can be interesting when applied well, but lots of the time you're just completely confused and that's not fun. I like to be able to go away from stories and think "well that was nice, let's see what I missed the first time around" instead of "okay I might know who the main character is now, let's go again."
I don't know who decided this? I got to look at a wonderful description of a crash related to speeding along with more pleasant videos of that sort. Honestly the description made it a better death scene than any I've ever written. I'm just kind of becoming desensitized to it now, and I don't think that was their intention at all.

Congratulations on the PS4! I am also curious about what game you got. ^^
I don't think I mind biographies or autobiographies so long as they're treated like stories and not uninteresting information dumps, as if it were some kind of schoolbook or something. That's one of the things I dislike about school: boring exposition dumps for things I don't really care about. I just space out halfway through. Seriously, the only thing I'm really looking forward to in school is Spanish. :|

Hello stranger! Go ahead!
I got GTA 5 and Batman: Arkham Knight! The Batman game is something I actually wanted, but GTA is fun too. My dad and my brother were like "no this is actually for us" and I was like "lol you actually think I'll let you use my ps4???" Also!! My family totally lied to me! They told me my book was going to come in late but in actuality it came in the mail earlier and they had just wrapped it up to give to me as a present! So that was cool too.
I was reading this one autobiography that was told in a non-linear narrative and I was like "what is going on here??? I thought she died???? Why are you talking about flowers???? What??????" I have no idea what I was supposed to get out of that story. I didn't understand it and there was nothing important in it other than how to correctly arrange flowers or whatever. Idek
Oh, reading warnings and descriptions I can do, but I can't actually see it. That's why I love action books but hate action movies.

Oh wow sorry for disappearing, I don't really have any good excuses aside from "somehow managed to procrastinate on replying for five days" so uh
That's good! I don't really know much about either of those games so I can't probably give a good response but I hope you enjoy them! And yeah, that's cool too.
Oh no, that autobiography sounds pretty horrible. I'm really bad at English classes because I am a very literal person and somehow can not bring myself to read into any hidden meanings of anything. Usually I just read other people's thoughts on the subjects (when it comes to fannish things) and adopt those ideas myself. But when it's something subtle like "the fish is a metaphor for loneliness / the truth of humanity" (or whatever it was, seriously, my English course this year was at least 50% fish related material, because it was a lot of Hemingway) I don't get it at all. And sometimes I think about an interpretation that I think is really good but then my teacher teaches it to us as something completely different and I want to say "well that idea is just awful, how about instead we interpret it like this," except I hate speaking up in class and would prooobably horribly humiliate myself, ain't it great.
Yeah, there are still many, many videos that I've had to watch recently. I think they're overdoing it now, especially when they had a "no drinking and driving" video set to a rock music video (???) so there would be a horrible death of a little girl on her birthday accompanied by electric guitar. And the videos are really old and British, which means I can't understand them half the time because of thick accents and poor sound quality, and they don't come with transcripts so I don't know what's going on. They've said something along the lines of "you can afford to spend the 25 cents to make a phone call home" and it took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that they meant payphones, which are definitely not 25 cents anymore, if you can even find one anywhere.

Same. I somehow managed to procrastinate on replying to you and about three other people. Whoops.
I always get an A in my English classes but I'm actually pretty bad with symbolism and stuff like that, so I feel you. Half the time I'm just like "it's not that deep, fam" bc there's no way the author was actually thinking of how this specific thing mentioned once or twice means this obscure thing. Like, one time my teacher showed us this black and white photo of a girl and an elephant or something and he was like "tell me the mood and tone for this picture" and me and my friends were just like "what". I also do the thing where I'm like "oh this symbolizes this thing" but then the teacher says something completely different, so I feel you. I constantly thank god for the fact that my friends let me copy off of them or else I would be failing my English classes every year.
Who even uses payphones anymore? And also, just because there's some sort of rock solo doesn't soften the blow at all. Actually, it might make it even more disturbing, which, Yikes. They really need to get newer videos with less traumatizing material. I think by now everybody should get the point that hey, they should be careful. We have enough ads outside of driver's ed telling us the dangers of texting and driving. Not that that stops anyone, but at least it's not traumatizing.

Okay I didn't procrastinate this time! I was off visiting cousins and only procrastinated one evening, haha.
Interpreting pictures is always so difficult to do. I never get how any of the stuff there fits into the symbolism at all. I mean, you could take any interpretation and manipulate the evidence to fit that. I did that with a lot of existentialism stuff during the beginning of my English class that went against my teacher's interpretation because I disagree with certain concepts of existentialism. English was my worst class of the year (aside from Career and Life Management, but that's pretty much entirely because of one assignment I was way too stressed out to do) and I wasn't fantastic mostly because of reading comprehension and interpretation.
I'd be surprised if anyone actually still uses payphones. Pretty much everyone has a cell phone of some sort. The rock solo did make it a lot more disturbing because it sort of took away from the reality of the situation, and it felt like more of an attempt to pander to teenagers than anything else. (Hey, kids like music, right? Will they listen to the video if it has music in it? Probably!) At least I should be done most of those videos now. I just have to deal with insurance and stuff and then I'm done the online course.
And I had my first driving lesson this morning! I miraculously managed to not crash into anything or anyone. My brain did go into stress-shutdown mode a few times, especially at the end when I meant to hit the brakes but ended up slamming on the gas pedal, but aside from that I didn't panic. I ended up driving on a lot of major roads. And now I have ten days until my next lesson to prepare myself again.
Also, I saw Spiderman: Homecoming with my family when I was gone! (Finally!) It was really, really good. I enjoyed it a lot. It was definitely a lot better than all of the other ones. When the ~major plot twist~ was revealed the entire theater gasped. Did you see the second end credit scene? I couldn't stop laughing throughout the entire thing.

I got the email that you responded to me, but honestly I completely forgot about it. And then I binged on Sense8, which took up the rest of my thoughts for the past two days. (It's a good show, but I, personally, wouldn't recommend it unless you're 18+ and have reviewed the content that's in it beforehand. Unless you're like me and you're not affected by most things on TV except for when you have to watch with your parents and certain scenes come on)
So many things in literature are open to interpretation, but like, that doesn't work with school because English teachers are always like "this is how it has to be." I'm still mad at my Modernism unit last year because nobody could explain to me what it was and I'm honestly amazed I got an A on the essay I through together for it. I probably already talked about it, but of course I have reiterate.
Adults are pretty much like "MILLENNIALS KNOW NOTHING" or something like that. Apparently they think I wouldn't know what a VHS tape is or something. As if I don't still have The Little Mermaid on VHS at home. Idk adults are weird and don't understand teenagers and think we're all like, gorillas but with human speech or something. If you couldn't tell, I don't exactly have all my thoughts together right now.
Good job! At least nobody died and you did well! I still haven't signed up for lessons, which I should do. I meant to sign up for classes with my friend, but I kept putting it off and now it's too late. Whoops. I need to figure something out soon...
I did see it! My friend and I were like "oH MY GOD" we were laughing a bunch. I had to show it to my dad too. It was great. There weren't a lot of people in the theater when we went to see it because it had already been out for a while, but at the plot twist I was like, "Am I surprised? Am I not? I should have expected this, but..." Ugh, I just love Spiderman: Homecoming and Tom Holland.

I've heard a bit about that show. I don't think it would be for me though because I am a very easily affected person, haha.
My dad told me a story a while ago about two different English professors. One time he got a bad grade on his essay because his interpretation of the story disagreed with the teacher's, the other time he got a good grade because, even though his position disagreed with the teacher, the teacher said he'd have to write an entire essay to explain why he disagreed, so he did a good job arguing it. I think teachers should be more like the latter. Most of the time when I don't fully understand a topic I just fill it in with a good enough vocabulary and somehow I get a good grade? I don't quite know how it works. I don't think you've told the story before, but my memory is pretty faulty, and either way I repeat the same stories over and over again because nothing interesting happens in my life, haha.
I always joke about "what's this ancient device??" when I see, say, a flip phone, or a dial-up phone, or a record player or something on TV, but I do find it annoying when people genuinely seem to think I have no idea what those things are. Like those comics with the kids asking where the power button is on a book. And even if I didn't know how a dial-up phone works, I would probably never be in a situation where I'd have to use one in my life, and if I did, I could figure it out pretty quickly. Lots of older people don't know how new technology works and assume it has to work the other way around for some reason. Why do they have to be against the progression of technology? I can look up anything in the world in the matter of seconds but you think cell phones make teenagers unintelligent? Luckily I haven't ever encountered one of these people in real life, haha.
I was cackling throughout the entire scene. My cousins were getting bored through the credits and asking if we could leave, but I was hoping the credits scene would be interesting, and I am very glad I stayed. The plot twist had a lot of hints leading up to it in hindsight, and it was agonizing sitting through the entire car ride scene. My cousin was sitting to the side covering her mouth in shock the entire time. It was a really good movie! Excellent character stuff.

Oh man okay here was my driving experience today: -My mom tells me "how about you find your own way around" which is... a necessary evil idea. -Get stared at awkwardly by someone when I am trying to find my way around a roundabout -Have so much self-doubt that I come to a complete stop when I could have just gone and then fly through at the last possible second -Accelerate and cause my mom to spill water all over herself, which in turn makes me panic, which makes for a very shaky turn into a LRT station parking lot -Attempt to pull over, instead go up onto the curb. At this point my mom is covered in water, I'm panicking because I didn't know what I did wrong, and we look like we're about to go completely sideways and fall over. -Manage to get off the curb. Spend the next five minutes laugh-crying while in a loading zone. All the while I am being stared at by someone waiting in their car. I believe they were concerned that they would need to call the police. -"Okay how about you just find your way around near [friend]'s house and then we'll turn around and go home" -Miss the first possible turn -Miss the second possible turn -Travel on a bunch of new rather rural-looking roads on the edge of town, poorly lit, with no idea where I am -saw the biggest house in this city, probably, while completely lost
iiin conclusion I have driving lessons first thing tomorrow and I am so scared ahhaha

Oh yikess that doesn't seem like fun. Yeah, I don't think telling you to try to find your own way around is going to help, because unlike parents who appear to have some sort of honing ability, I don't think brand new drivers are going to know which street to take to get to their destination. Seriously, I have no idea how my parents know how to get places without a GPS.
Yeah teachers should definitely give good grades for an analysis that makes sense, even if it's not the same analysis. What I do is just throw around a bunch of big words and hope they make sense, unless I do actually know what I'm talking about. Which isn't often. (literally, in eighth grade, my science teacher was like "even if you don't understand the lesson, just use a bunch of big words that look like they make sense because that's what I did in school lol")
My mom still has no idea how to change the channel on the TV or even how to turn it on. I'm pretty sure older generations have a harder time with new technology than we do with old technology. I remember this one comic that was like "your child will have no idea what you look like because you'll always have your phone out to take pictures of them!!!1!1!!11" even though I remember that parents have always taken pictures and videos of their children, soooo....
The car ride scene gave me soooo much anxiety. I was like "omg you're such a bad actor please stop." Kudos to Peter for deciding to do the right thing in the end, but also, poor Liz. I do love all of the characters though! Liz wasn't a cliche, Michelle was amazing, Peter was actually a kid, and the villain's entire character wasn't just "I'm evil and I want to take over the world."

I do think I need to try and find my way around, since I know I'll be able to do it more once I drive more and have to actually pay attention instead of staring out the window and daydreaming, since the places I was finding my way to were places I'd been multiple times before. I will probably need a GPS though, because I'm not that good at it yet, haha.
"Throw around big words and hope they make sense" was my entire essay writing strategy through my online social studies course. I consistently got 100's even on essays that, in my opinion, were quite incoherent. (It didn't always work, I think I had two that got marked lower? But one of those was an exam and the other one I didn't even try at all on.)
My dad's a programmer so he knows a lot about technology. He knows a lot more than I do, and it kind of sucks for me, because I barely know anything since I've never had to learn, and I could always just ask him. He could be monitoring my activity right now and I wouldn't know at all. (... hi, Dad? I hope you're not reading this?) I was just helping my grandparents a few hours ago with technology and they are very confused. I can definitely understand that it's hard for them to learn. I've seen that comic as well, and honestly it's missing the point of taking pictures. This is a great way for parents to document the progress of their child. It's no different than taking photos and videos, except now it's in a way that's more accessible for everyone. And if the parents store their data on the cloud, they'll never have to worry about losing photo albums or anything like that. But hey, it's technology, so it must be evil!
I was so stressed that entire car ride scene. It was very well done. I loved that Peter did the right thing. I love that movies are going away from the "the bad guys are absolute evil and must die in order for the protagonist to truly win" idea, because that's boring. Complicated characters make for much better stories. I do feel bad for Liz. I am very glad she wasn't cliche. All the characters were believable! I need to see that movie again sometime.
