It is probably one of the best anime I have ever seen. It's very dear to my heart. You should watch it, Dingo! its my first and favorite

Owlstar, when are you going to start working on chapter 2 of Sunclan? You told me you would do it. If you have been working on it, how's it going?

Owlstar, when are you going to start working on chapter 2 of Sunclan? You told me you would do it. If you have been working on it, how's it going? It's going well. I'm actually almost done. Have to type it up. Would the leader be Sunstar or can I make up the name?

Actually it tells you what the leader's name is in the list of cats I wrote right before the first chapter. I just wanted to say thanks again for everything! I really appreciate it! Also don't forget to PM the chapter when you are done so I can look it over, see if there are any mistakes and post it when the mistakes are fixed.

Hey yall! how's everyone doing? I just posted a new fanfic of mine, got the idea from working at five acres (an animal shelter near me, i train the cats to do tricks and stuff as well as do photography) because one of the cats there (who is my favorite his name is mighty mouse and hes my baby) has whats called cerebellar hypoplaysia and i kinda thought itd be an interesting concept to play around with so thats what i did and thus the idea for dancing on thin ice came (i know thats not the actual saying but itll make sense later) its not strictly warriors and im debating on whether or not to make them have some ties to a clan of some sort or not but i personally find it an interesting concept if i do say so myself lol

new question added!
for me it'd be first person because it always sounds more personal to me and usually is written more personally (although sometimes I write third person and on rare occasions second person)
and i feel that it makes the reader have a more emotional connection to the character, as if they can see exactly how that person sees, feels what they feel, thinks what they think, while with third person its more so observing from afar and second is a direct dialect a the reader

I write in third or first person. It's easier for me to do it as it fits with my natural writing style.

Owlstar, I have a question. (Ok, when I ask this I am just wondering.) When you write a chapter of one of your own fan fics, how long does it take and what process do you go through to make it? I thought I would get some helpful writing advice from this.

Ok, here we go!
ultimately, I prefer third person past tense, simply because I find it both easier to write in, and because it's excellent at letting me reflect on the characters thoughts and emotions. When you're writing in past tense, the character has the benefit of hindsight. I also really enjoy writing third person present, especially if its a really emotional and character-driven story. The reader feels things as the character does, and its easier, I find, to write the really heavy, emotional stuff as it happens. Sometimes I write in present tense for some scenes then change it to past tense so the whole story flows better, but I often use present tense for one-shots.
I rarely ever write first person - mostly if it's again, really emotion driven, or for some reason if it's a horror story, because those things seem to resonate better if you describe it as personal experience. I don't know. But first person, for me, is reserved solely for intensely personal writing.
I hate second person with a burning passion. It makes the writing disjointed and the reader is emotionally detached, unless the writer is really really good at that specific tense. I avoid it at all costs.
I also don't really like omniscient narration much (where the story has a narrator that is all-knowing and knows all the events that have yet to occur) as I find it distracts from the plot line, and I personally find that the writing is better when the characters discover things for themselves, and when the audience makes said discovery alongside the character.

Owlstar, I have a question. (Ok, when I ask this I am just wondering.) When you write a chapter of one of your own fan fics, how long does it take and what process do you go through to make it? I thought I would get some helpful writing advice from this. I'm not Owlstar, but I might be able to help.
I don't write fan fiction anymore, but from what I can remember, here's what my personal process looked like; 1. I scribbled out the first draft. This was usually just a mess of scenes, with some characterisation. Basically, I used this step to figure out exactly what was going to take place in the chapter and in what order. 2. Once that's done, I set about polishing. This generally involves writing better distributions, fixing the characterisation and making sure the chapter flows nicely from the previous one. I also tidy the dialogue. Sometimes I cut things out or add them in. This is by far the longest stage, and I generally rewrite the entire chapter about twice, making sure it is the best that it can possibly be. The dialogue tends to undergo several rounds of revision to make sure it's as suited to the characters and present situation as possible. 3. Next comes editing. I comb through and fix up the grammar and spelling mistakes. I tend to write really fast, so there tends to be a lot of these! I also double check to make sure the chapter flows nicely and is consistent.
Sometimes I am satisfied with the first draft, and it only really needs a little editing, but other times I'll rewrite the chapter over and over until I'm happy. Generally, the whole process takes about two weeks - in a good week, I can churn out a chapter in about four days, but life is busy and if I want the chapter to be really good, it takes about 2 weeks of working sporadically. I know a lot of other writers on here spend several months working on chapters (Shadowface is one I know, and Tuesday was the same, and I think it takes Brownie about the same amount of time) but we're all really busy.
If I'm working on something other than fan fiction, like one of my own projects, the process it a lot more complicated, and chapters take months. even then, once I think they're finished, I go back and poke at them all the time. I can elaborate, but this is already long enough XD
I hope this helps!

Dingo, thanks so much for your advice! I find this really helpful! Since I have had more time these few weeks, I have been able to write more. I feel really inspired to do more of my chapter now! I'm gonna work some more on it now. It'll probably be out today or tomorrow since when you posted this I was almost done with the chapter. Have a good week Dingo and good luck with your project!
