Somewhere on the island, something exploded. Kano Rodas, a pirate worth 120,000,000, was running out of the building he may have accidentally blew up. Okay, so it wasn't an accident. He may have felt bad for the owner, but nothing was stopping him from blowing up the building to get away from marines. Of course, he had made sure no one died. He didn't want that on his conscious.

Pamola could hear the shake from the explosion from where she was a couple of blocks down and immediately started running in that direction, worried about the civilians more than any of the Marines. Civilians always came first in her mind since the Marines had signed up for it. If they died, they usually died with some honor. At least, the ones who weren't complete cowards

The dirt road below their feet was still visible for the most part, and faint lights from the town in the distance. "It's really quiet..." Scarlet remarked, keeping her voice low. She shivered a little, rubbing her bare arms with her hands before untying the sash around her waist and wrapping it around her shoulders. "It'll probably get louder when we get to the town," Kyoden replied, walking a bit faster.

Rod was running in the opposite direction. Unfortunately for him, he looked about as much of a pirate as anyone could. He liked drawing attention to himself, though it wasn't always a good thing as the marines chased after him. Pulling out his pistol, he turn, firing it at a nearby cart and knocking the stand loose so the cart rolled in the way of the approaching marines. Laughing, he grabbed the wall and swung himself around the corner.

"This place is creepy," Kuina noted as she walked beside them. Other than that, it was like she wasn't really bothered. It did take a lot to get on her nerves, and she had been to creepier places. Able, however, was much more cautious, eyes skimming the scene as he gripped his spear tightly.

Paloma was currently following the other Marines after she found out that they were chasing the culprit. She had ordered some to check on any injured and see if they were okay and if not to treat them. She was pushing her way through Marines that were chasing and jumped over the fallen cart
(Man you better hope that Rod can run fast)

Rod kept running. He found his way to the busiest market, where he could easily weave his way around people and slow down any marines who would try to push through the crowd. He was certain by now that he could make it to his ship and escape. He had purposely anchored it by the rocks, not only to keep it hidden but also because he was able to move from each rock without falling. Once he made it to his ship, he was free.

Paloma kept chasing after Rod. She could only see him by using Observational Haki at the moment. She couldn't let someone get away from her right under her nose. This guy could be notorious or someone who could end up being that at some point. Especially if he went around blowing stuff up

He ducked into an alleyway, breathing hard at this point. He might end up needing to fight, something he really did not want to do. Otherwise, he needed to find another escape plan. He broke out into another street, this one not quite as packed as the last.

Paloma did not lose track of him at all due to her Haki. He was the only one running away from them and now that she was locked onto him, she was like a bloodhound now. The Marines followed after her

Rod noticed how close the marines were getting. They had to have someone experienced if they were this close on his trail. Rod couldn't help but smile. Some big guy on his trail? Of course he would enjoy that he got the attention.

Paloma could now see the culprit behind the explosion. She started picking up the pace "Stop!" She yelled. What stunk for Paloma was that she couldn't use her devil fruit powers in the streets without having to worry about civilians

Rod looked back to see where the voice came from. Grinning behind him at the woman, he turned so he was running backwards. "Not even for you!" He called back with a wink, before darting sideways into another alley.

Paloma's eye twitched. She hated that people just looked at her and only saw the surface. It was one of the reasons why she was still single. Paloma turned into the alley and tried to stop him by throwing some fire at the end of it

"Whoa!" Rod slid to a stop, blinking at the blazing flames. Those would not be good for his clothes. Whirling around, Rod eyed the marine, but placed a hand over his heart, a small smirk playing on his face. "Now sweetie, I knew you were hot, but this takes a whole new form."
(xD Rod flirts with almost every person he comes across, just because he enjoys it.)
