"I have before. Ended up being sore for weeks after the beating he gave me" Masaki said with a chuckle "That was closer to when we first set sail to the New World though. The crew was a lot smaller but it felt as big as the entire fleet if that makes any sense"

Kandji stared at Masaki for quite some time, almost as if she hadn't understood what he said to her. "Yes... I think I understand," she murmured, answering finally. "I felt that too... when I left Fishman Island..."

Kandji nodded and let out a little affirmative grunt. "That was right when I joined..." she said. She let out a short sigh and sat back. "Raiden took me right when he heard about me... I guess I didn't have much choice..." she added with a light laugh.
Meanwhile, the training dummy outside had been, well, dismembered to put it nicely. Raiden had tossed aside his sword and sheath and was now showing a few crewmates how to throw a strong punch.

"If I'm remembering correctly, some of the crew didn't like having a fish man on board and harassed you until the Captain found out and punished them." Masaki said "I, for one, was glad to see a new crew mate come in. It's always nice seeing friendly new faces around"

"Yes... some on the surface still have bad feelings about us," Kandji replied. Her eyes dropped to her hands as they fiddled with the robes floating around her, but her expression softened as Masaki continued speaking. She smiled, and looked back at him. "It is nice."

Masaki looked out at the sea "You know, it must be nice being able to see, breathe, and swim under the water. It must be so beautiful looking at the sunlit waters, watching the sun break through the water illuminating the fish and corals and whatnot." He said "I envy you sometimes" he added as he turned his head to look at Kandji and gave her a wide smile

"It is beautiful, even the sea kings," Kandji said, smiling more now. She was slowly becoming more animated, this was probably the most she'd spoken in months. Most of the fish back home avoided her save for a few close friends in her neighborhood, but that gave her time to just watch as the world went by and it quickly became her favorite pastime. "Humans always disagree... but, I think it's prettier than any island."

Once again there was a long period of silence before Kandji answered. "Sometimes," she said, nodding. "But my life here is much more exciting." She twirled a tentacle slowly around a finger. "Even though it was home, there's a lot that's unknown even to us."

"Sorry if that question was hard to answer" Masaki said "But that's honestly not surprising considering how deep and vast the oceans are. It would take many lifetimes over just to explore all of it I bet. Even for a Fishman"

Masaki smiled "I'd say that you will. We are going to sail all over the New World to make Kandji the next Pirate King. We'll see every ocean and you'll see almost every kind of fish in the sea" he said

"I think that counts," Kandji murmured. She lifted a sleeve-covered hand up to her mouth and let out a soft giggle. "If Raiden heard that, he'd say something like 'that's creepy' I think," she added.
Suddenly one of the crew members burst in through the doors, still breathing hard from Raiden's training. "Masaki, sir! There's a ship approaching! We don't think it's a marine ship."

Masaki smiled "You think so?" He asked Kandji "I think everyone here wants to help the Captain become Pirate King" he added before the crew member burst in "Did anyone see their Jolly Roger then?" He asked as he got up and started to walk to the deck

"It's hard to tell at the moment, but captain said to prepare to board them once they get close!" the crew member replied. He started to run out again but stopped halfway through the door. "He said he wants miss Kandji out here too!"
"Me?" Kandji asked. She floated to the surface of the water and climbed out of the bowl, sliding gently down the side to the floor before glancing at Masaki. "Let's go~"

Masaki nodded "I needed to finish cooking too" he said "Man what a pain" Masaki said as he continued on the deck and could see a ship in the far distance "Where's our ship's sniper? Could he not see anything?"

"We just sent up the sniper as I came in here," the crewmate explained as he followed Masaki outside.
Kandji stepped outside after them and walked up to Raiden, who was standing at the front of the deck with his arms crossed. "You wanted me out here?" she asked.
Raiden glanced to his side. "Huh? Yeah." His gaze quickly went back to the ship which was much closer now and his bright blue eyes glared at it. He let out a hiss before spinning around, spotting Masaki outside and heading over. "It's one of the Demon of the West's. "We're going to teach them what happens when they get too comfortable in our waters."

"Well to start off we're getting food. And any other necessities," Kyoden answered, hopping the rest of the way to solid ground. "Basically anything we can find with what money we have." He stared at the fog covered town in the distance and frowned. "Then I want to get away from here as soon as possible."
"Yeah, I feel like we're gonna stand out like a sore thumb in this place," Scarlet said, stepping up beside Kyoden. "I also need to get my hands on a new sword. Hopefully there'll be some affordable ones here..."

"Find whoever's in charge of the ship and bring 'em to me," Raiden ordered, fingers tapping expectantly on the hilt of his sword. "I have a few questions to ask before returning them to Tatsuo. Do what you want to the rest of the ship and its crew. Maybe this'll finally get through to him," he growled.

"You're going to help me ask the questions," Raiden replied, a sly grin on his face. "Your presence might get him to talk, if that doesn't work there's always your little secret weapons~"
"Oh..." Kandji murmured.
"Alright, let's get 'em!" Raiden then shouted to his crew.

The crew let out a loud cheer as they changed their direction to head towards the enemy boat. Masaki cheered as well. He was getting excited since it had been a while since he had been needed "So is this his personal ship Captain?" He asked "Or is it just part of his fleet?"

"Part of his fleet. The main ship is a lot bigger... but not as impressive as mine~" Raiden answered. "I bet he's sitting on his main ship safely tucked in his own territory right now. This one was likely just sent out to test the waters."
