The apprentice opened her jaws and tasted the air. ` I know that. I'm 9 moons old, I'm not just a dumb apprentice! ` Squirrel scent was floating towards her, from a tree. Tinypaw attempted to climb the tree but fell on hard ground. Licking her embarassed chest fur, she watched the scared squirrel climb higher. ` Foxdung! `

"No chance of that squirrel coming down anyways though." The warrior slightly purred. "Your choice. Tree climbing lesson or more hunting for the clan, which I would prefer." |

Onyxwind gave a tolerant nod. "Alrighty! Now, we can start with this tree. Show me the proper position to grasp it in order to climb well." He mewed calmly, looking at Tinypaw expectantly. After all, she must know something about climbing trees after a few moons of being an apprentice already. Right? He supposed so. Even if she didn't, he could teach her from scratch. Tinypaw must be a fast learner!

Goldenblaze wasn't thrilled about ending up in the nursery, but at the moment she hadn't been given a choice. Mintbreeze hadn't given her some sort of spiel about socialization and insisted she go spend some time talking to the queens, who also had free time on their hands. Echofeather wasn't anywhere to be found, but Quillmane was right there. Poor thing, really, she only just lost her mate. Unsure of how to start this out, Goldenblaze began with an awkward "So...how are you holding up?"

"Even now I just feel numb that she's gone" In all honesty, it wasn't numbness at all, she just never truly grieved. As much as her sister did for the clan, she was still a bully towards Goldenblaze, it was just a part of life. "I suppose you just keep your paws going forward if anything"

"No one expects death" Goldenblaze told her. Honestly, the elder was secretly grateful that Quillmane hadn't asked about how to deal with grief. As cruel as it sounded, she never really grieved over Ambershine very much. Sure, she put up appearances, yet in her heart, she never really missed her sister. Looking to steer the subject away, she tried to change the subject. "I almost forgot about it, hadn't my sister mentored Redwater?"

Snowtiger chuckled at the apprentices eagerness to climb trees. He enjoyed tree climbing himself, while his sister prefered to stay on the ground. "Well what are we waiting for then," he meowed.

"Ambershine always did call training him one of her greatest achievements" Goldenblaze told the queen. It's doubtful she was being honest though. Then again, she did love to brag that she got an apprentice first. "Even when she wasn't his mentor, I remember she'd always try to teach him more. I wasn't sure why she did that though, he seemed capable enough himself"
