Kiba walked alongside Ferra and as they walked he asked," So tell me what makes up one of these families?" Kiba was very interested in learning all he could about a family.

Aurora followed after them, and Catori after her. The wolf began to nuzzle Aurora's hand and make a peculiar noise. She always did so when 'asking' Aurora's permission to go for a hunt. Aurora smiled and turned to Kiba, "Would you like to go on a hunt with Catori?" The wolf's tail began to wag at that.

Kiba looked at Aurora and Catori and said," I would not mind but I must say I am not that good at hunting which is why I have not eaten anything for a week."

Ferra suddenly turned at Aurora's question, and gave Kiba an understanding smile. "I can tell you all about families later, if you want to go hunting." At his answer, she gave a small laugh. "I'm sure Catori could teach you a thing or two. Go on, it'll be fun for both of you."

Catori began to leap and bark with excitement. She'd only been hunting with someone just one other time before, and was eager to do it again.

Alfonse, being quite skinny in stature, was able to slip between the claws just barely. He winced as he felt the sharp sting of the tail, however. Luckily, the scientist's healing factor minimized the damage done to his body, and he immediately dashed around the creature in an attempt to get a better look at it, Alfonse knew his time was limited, so he made an attempt to take in every detail, despite the fact that the discoveries of his scientific endeavor would be significantly hindered due to the adrenaline rush he underwent as he circled the beast, avoiding its claws and tail as best he could. When Alfonse had finished observing the creature, he halted, closed his eyes, and held his breath. This couldn't be as painful as the time he drowned himself, or starved himself, or died of asphyxiation, right? All his previous deaths had been in the name of science. He supposed this one would be as well. (Sorry for the slow replies with this) The manticore grinned maliciously at Alfonse, murder and hunger in its eyes as its scorpion tail flicked with glee. With an eldritch roar, the beast lunged again with its maw stretched open as far as it would go. And... what comes next needn't be described in any sort of vicious detail. You can probably figure it out for yourself. If one was really curious and wanted to see what happened next for themselves in a much less brutal and kid-friendly way... then they could click the spoiler below. (Warning! It ain't pretty...) |

Kiba then walked over to Cetori and said," Okay Catori please lead the way and please be patient with my poor hunting skills." Catori grinned happily at Kiba, gave a nod of her head, and quickly led the way to the woods. (They needn't be worried about that nasty manticore. He only eats living humans. I say living, because he is lac-ghost intolerant.) |

Before Kiba left his turned back to the girls and said," please excuse us we will be back in a little bit." Kiba then turned back to Catori and chased after her.

Aurora nodded, noting how polite Kiba was. Perhaps after Catori taught him to hunt, he could in turn teach the wolf some manners.
Catori ambled past the garden and down the hill, stopping at the treeline to allow Kiba to catch up with her. Once he had, she advised for him to just follow her lead and do what she does. The wolf knew she wouldn't be able to communicate once they entered the woods. With a yip, she broke into a quick trot and led the way into the darkened forest.

Aurora stopped to watch Catori and Kiba leave for their hunt, turned and walked straight into Peter. (This is kind of a running gag we did a lot back in old Outcasts. Old habits die hard, I suppose.) Peter rubbed his nose, I guess I've gotta slow down. I've been lucky not to run into anyone with spikes or quills sticking out of them. He grinned and quickly uttered an apology for running into the girl. |

(I AM CACKLING) Alfonse shut his eyes and tried not to think about the manticore's hot breath on his skin, or its teeth chewing him to bits. He reminded himself that he would regenerate immediately after, but the thought wasn't helped by the fact that he would soon be broken down repeatedly by the beast's stomach acid. He wondered if he should try to make it sick, or if he should wait and... well, let the digestive system do its job. |

Chase nodded. "At least some people are though." He said with a slight glance to Delilah. He then looked at him and tilted his head. "Oh? Where does it hurt?" He asked him. He had some healing powers, and though extremely weak, he might be able to at least numb the pain. Still he could only hope.

Mason stopped himself from chuckling as Peter ran into someone again. He kind of hoped this girl was Aurora but he still really had no idea. He only knew of Peter and that creepy demon girl. Ugh he would be happy if he never saw her again.

(I just posted a Facebook status, saying I'm having surgery tomorrow on February 29, and there are people falling for it.  ) Aurora rolled her eyes, "Watch where you're going. We've been through this a hundred times. If you slowed down, maybe you wouldn't run into people." Her tone sounded sharp, but her expression was more teasing. He annoyed her sometimes, and Peter thought she was bossy, but they had known each other longer than any of the other residents, and were actually kind of close. There was a reason they were sometimes mistaken as siblings. Peter just laughed it off, trying not to let his embarrassment show. With a shrug and a grin, he introduced her and Mason. Aurora was slowly getting accustomed to some of the more stranger looking people, and didn't appear surprised to see Mason's feathers, "Hi." She greeted him. |

Mason smiled politely to her and held out his hand to shake. "Nice to meet you Aurora. I heard you're the longest resident?" He said happily. She actually looked a little like Amari. Well, she might, maybe Mason was just seeing things cause he missed her.

Aurora eyed his hand with a confused look. She wasn't aware of the custom of shaking hands to greet someone. Catori sometimes gave her a paw, but she just thought it was an odd quirk of the wolf. To Mason's question, she nodded, "Yeah, I've been here my entire life."
Peter cut in, "I've been here a few months, so I'm the second longest living here." He grinned.
Aurora rolled her eyes at him. (Imma be poofy after this, for a couple of hours.)

Catori ran some distance into the forest before suddenly stopping to hold her nose low to the ground. She was searching for some scent or sign of potential quarry.

Kiba walked next to Catori and then took note of how she was trying to track using scents when he often used aura to find potential pray. This was good at finding the pray but he lacked enough hunting skill to actually catch it. Kiba then closed his eyes for a second and when he reopened them he could see the aura of all the organic lifeforms around him. After looking around for a couple of minutes he saw a rabbit about five feet away.
