Aurora showed no signs of knowing. In truth, she actually wasn't very familiar with vampires, aside from what little was mentioned of them in a book upstairs. Likewise, she had no idea that her lycanthropy was known to anyone in the castle. (Heh, she's sorta naive.)

Aurora gave a brief mention of the various odds and ends she did at the castle, including tending to the garden and reading books from the library. Her life was pretty basic - especially when she'd lived alone, but she knew no differently.

Mason shrugged. He didn't want to talk about the girl really so he simply moved on to his question. "I have no clue actually. I've only been here about a day now. I found myself in this forest and I've been trying to find my way out of here." He explained.

Chase tilted his head slightly and leaned against the wall behind him. "I think it would be awesome to shift into Earth creatures. Trust me it's not fun to shift into a dragon for me. You can shift with I suppose nearly no repercussions, mine's extremely painful." He said with a shrug. He was very powerful in his other form but he could nearly never do it. He sometimes had to rest after, unless he really needed to.

"Well, this forest is pretty big. I mean, REALLY big. Nothing but trees for over a hundred miles, except for the place I live. It sounds almost too good to be true, but there's an actual castle not far from here. We have food, water, beds - everything you need, and nobody has been turned away yet. Though... I'm pretty sure that if anyone there tried to hurt somebody, our resident wolf lady would drive them off. I have a feeling she wouldn't put up with that." Peter grinned sheepishly.

Delilah frowned. "That must be pretty miserable..." Logically, of course, she understood the transformation into any sort of animal should be excruciatingly painful. Unbeknownst to her, however, her own transformations weren't for a reason. The trait itself had gone through a natural selection of sorts throughout the years; this evolution of the ability likely contributed to its increasing recession among members of her tribe. Delilah's shapeshifting abilities had discovered a way to block off pain receptors in her mind in order to temporarily numb her senses. Additionally, the brains of those particular shapeshifters often released moderate amounts of dopamine during transformations, which further reduced any discomfort the shifter may experience.
(Essentially, the ability was first very painful, and people often died making an attempt to shift. The ability itself found a way to adapt, though, and through a sort of natural selection, the ability was passed down from those shifters who were able to suppress the pain. Of course, this only applies to her particular breed of shapeshifter. :3)

She smiled back before rolling up her pant legs and stepping into the water. Besides a little sizzle from her warm skin hitting the cool water there was no other reaction. "Like I said easy. Chase shook his head. "I never need to use it so it's not a problem." Plus he wouldn't do it there cause he wouldn't fit in the halls anyway. "So what creatures can you turn into? Everything on Earth?" He asked her with a tilt of his head. he was actually enjoying talking to her honestly, which somewhat surprised him because he didn't like talking to people usually.

Mason looked at him with an 'are you serious' look on his face. "The other person I met said the same thing! I've been trying to look for it but I can't find it!" He said to him. Was he the only person who was missing out on this castle, it seems like everyone else knows about it!

At some point, Pandora slipped out of the castle. Most of the people were inside, it seemed, so the girl decided she'd just wait outside for nightfall. She caught sight of the wolf chewing the bone, and an idea suddenly struck her. (Feel free to have Bell sneak up behind her.)

Mason hesitated for a moment, but followed him after that few moments. What could go wrong? Actually everything could, and he should know. What else could he do though right? This castle he kept hearing was the only thing he could think of that could help him so he doesn't starve in the middle on nowhere. |

(My grandma has these really old but nice couches so my moms dogs are not allowed on them. But they don't know that and I busted the boy on it. I knew it was a losing battling I just put a sheet on the couch so if they got back on their fur wouldnt get on the couch

"Well, so far, I've figured out how to change into an eagle, bear, wolf, panther, snake, a regular housecat, umm...." She hesitated, as if she thought she may be forgetting something. "Oh, and I know how to change into a squirrel. I'm not too fond of that form, though. They're a little nutty." She giggled at her own pun. Delilah assumed Chase knew of all of the creatures she had mentioned; he did say he knew of Earth, after all. "Anyway, for the longest time, I could only change into a bear, an eagle, and a wolf. So I'm learning. One of the other living members of my tribe who can shift claims to be able to change into close to two hundred animals. He even has a list and everything. He's been at it for years, though." |
