Carly had to admit to herself she could get used to the feeling of being content. She was normally on edge and un-compassionate, but around Wells it seemed to wash away. At least for now. It could just be the initial shock of meeting her Angel that made her soften, and she sort of hoped it was. "Wells." The name sat on her tongue like candy. Normally she'd make a joke about the unusual name, but it didn't come to her so fluently. "I'm Carly." Her eyes kept flickering back and forth from the group to the pair of golden eyes. What next? Do we have to touch? Do I tell him I accept whatever this is? The nervousness began to settle in a little more as she picked at her fingernails.
Dylan chuckled as he watched Arielle step timidly from behind him. She gave the back of her calve a little kick, his wings twitching in delight. "Looks like you're still the little one of the room," he purred teasingly, but also noticed Carly stood at about the same height as she does. He was also aware that a couple of the other female angels were even more petite, and he hoped that it would help his little Angel friend's confidence.

As soon as he took a step forward, Angelique had the sudden realization that she had to crane her neck to look up in order to maintain eye contact. That didn't sit well with her, she liked to maintain authority. She couldn't do that if he was as tall as a mountain. A small huff of discontent escaped her lips before she could even think about it holding it back. Her eyes widened in surprise at the sudden crack she just made in her tough facade, hoping that her Chosen wouldn't notice a thing. She doubted it, but she could hope. She tilted her head at him as he spoke, his eyes continuing to draw her in. Overall, he was aesthetically pleasing to the eye and she inwardly hummed in content to herself. Everything about him demanded her attention and she easily obliged. However, the manner in which he introduced himself was the complete opposite of what she expected. It was somewhat unfamiliar and amusing all at once. A gentle smile graced her features as she looked up at the other, fondness crossing her face before resuming back to its original facade. "Angelique." She said simply, mimicking his first introduction.
Malik was just about to step away from the room, uncomfortable with all of the new emotions that were brimming around him. However, a new figure that stepped out from behind another Angel caught his eye. The pull he felt towards her was immediate as soon as they locked eyes and he felt the tension drain out of him completely. She was better than he had imagined. The golden hair that swept from her face seemed to encase her in her own natural glow and he couldn't help the affection that swelled inside him the longer he looked at her. She seemed nervous to be there and he couldn't help but wonder why. He should be the nervous one, not her. After all, she was the majestic being in their bond. He ruffled a hand through his hair, just making it messier than before. It was something he did when he was feeling out of place or if he felt knots in his stomach. In this case, it was both. "Hello." He said gently, not wanting to scare her off. He responded to her smile with one of his own, feeling lost in a dream.

"It's nice to finally meet you Carly." Wells said, a genuine smile grew. It was, he had been waiting for what seemed like forSever and she was more than he could have ever expected. This human seemed fairly sure of herself and confident which he liked. Now after seeing her, he wasn't sure how he could have ever expected anyone different. He realized then he wasn't sure if they should touch and seal the bond, or if that was meant to wait, he was tempted to glance at Angelique and ask, but his focus remained on Carly.
Jackson tried to suppress the grin that tugged at his lips, but the slightly crooked smile couldn't be held back. He liked her. He knew he did, and he found himself liking her even more each time she looked him over with approval or gave a huff of discontent. He had to admit it felt good to be taller than her, even if she could likely flip him on his back in ten seconds flat despite all his extensive training. She looked tough, with the piercings, rings and black hair she didn't look like someone to be trifled with, and her body language continued that image. His grin widened a little when she mimicked his first introduction of himself. Angelique. It's pretty, somehow suites her. She obviously isn't afraid to tease. he thought to himself. "So, um how does this all work?" He asked her curiously.
Arielle rolled her eyes at Dylan's teasing and gave him a sharp nudge with her elbow before she stepped towards the human. She was happy to note Carly was in fact closer to her height. Her eyes returned to Malik quickly as he ruffled his hair and smiled back. That somehow made her smile more, it was obviously a habit but she thought it was cute. His smile changed his whole demeanor and she loved it. "I'm Arielle." She introduced herself, confidence gaining. Malik was intimidating for a human, but his smile softened his face and she immediately knew she would do anything for a smile like that.

{{ I'm pretty sure Weary has an open character, Ghost! But if you'd like, I could whip up a new character ^^ }}
Every time he smiled, Angelique felt a flood of warmth pool in her chest. Oh. Oh. She should've known how strong the bond was. It had been ingrained into her mind, copious amounts of information taught to the Angels from Day One of their existence. But Angelique was one of the more stubborn and hardheaded Angels. She believed she could fight the bond with a defiant glint in the eyes and a raised chin. She hadn't taken the Higher Forced as seriously as she should have. Why would she bonded to the beings who caused her ancestors such anguish? Why were they forced to protect the ones who were too weak to do it themselves? It made no sense to her. But standing there, drinking in every little detail of the Chosen in front of her, seeing how well built his body was, noticing that she wouldn't have to support him on the battlefield as much as she thought she had to; Angelique realized how wrong she was. She would never admit it though. She had some pride. At his sudden question, she raised an amused brow, a smile lifting the corners of her lips. "They taught you nothing about the Bonds here? Seriously, human governmental systems are so outdated." She mused, twirling a strand of her hair around a finger.
Malik held back a sigh of content when his Angel took a step towards him. He felt utterly relieved that she didn't seem to be looking at him with any sort of disgust, just wonder and acceptance. He had thought for a moment that right then and there, she would turn around and ditch him completely. But noticing that she too was looking at him with avid interest, his worries were soothed. "I'm Malik." He responded, trying to contain the excitement bubbling within him. Arielle. Arielle Arielle Arielle. The name fit nicely on his tongue and his body thrummed with pleasure. "I'm so glad we finally got the chance to meet." He admitted with a soft laugh. He had been worried sick that his Angel wasn't there, that it was all just a fluke and he'd be sent back the way he came. But no. She was here and alive.

One thing was for sure--Wells seemed to have a mellow enough personality. Carly was well aware she could be a tough one to handle, and there weren't many she had the comfort of growing close to. She needed someone calm, understanding, and with a sense of humor; her Angel seemed to match it perfectly. She raised her eyes to the sky slightly. Nice going, Heaven, she silently applauded those above. She turned her head as Jax asked the question she was sure everyone was wondering. She smirked at Angelique's answer. "Well, unlike you guys I'm sure, we aren't exactly indoctrinated with everything we need to know since birth." Looking back at Wells, she asked him with her eyes something along the lines of, What do we do?
Dylan watched the scene in front of him with humor glinting in his eyes. The melting pot of emotions in the room was comical to him. It was almost like, like, what's the human entertainment thing? Soap operas. He quietly chuckled to himself before returning to a more serious gaze. He knew nothing about the situation was actually funny, and what happened next would dictate the outcome of this war. He needed to be focusing on preparing himself for when his Chosen appeared before him.

Jax wasn't sure if he wanted to admit to Angelique how very little they had been taught about the bond. The Chosen were trained in combat and taught history about the angels, but since being at this place he hadn't learned much or been given any advice on how to prepare. For the most part he felt like the Chosen were paraded around as heroes for people instead of being taught about what the future would hold. He might have been a little more defensive of his people if Angelique hadn't sat there with a piece of that ebony hair twirled around a slender finger. Her cockiness was amusing and he gave her a slight shrug of his shoulders. "You got me there." He agreed, the government was a little outdated and much more selfish than the angel's organized one. He rubbed the back of his neck in a somewhat apologetic gesture. "You're just going to have to walk me through it."
Malik. Strange name, but I like it. He'll do nicely. She decided, even though she was certain he was everything she could hope for. He was obviously trained, his muscles were evident of that. She was impressed even if she wouldn't admit it right away, he would be a good warrior and someone she was proud to be bonded to and protect. Whatever nerves that had been present up to this point were nothing but a distant memory. "As am I." Arielle agreed quickly. She was so glad, every part of her body told her that as her heart beat. She felt guilty then, he had been here all along waiting and she could have come earlier. Her pride prevented her from awkwardly apologizing then in front of everyone, but later she would have to bring herself to. She felt bad to have ever disappointed him.

Wells grinned at Carly's quick response. Shes definitely fiery. She has heart. He knew he was honored to be her Chosen angel. She wouldn't make things easy though, she seemed stubborn and unlikely to sit back and let the angels do the work. He knew he would have his hands full, but somehow that only made him more excited for the future. He would blance her, and she him. "She has a point." He mused and grinned at Angelique playfully. The angels were hundreds of years old, each knew much about the Chosen and the previous war. The humans, however, knew what their leaders decided was important to teach and weren't fully aware for what they were getting into.

She hummed in agreement, gazing at the others in the room as she responded with a "I guess I do." She picked herself up from the wall she had been comfortably leaning against and began to move towards him. Her steps were light and careful, as if every footstep was calculated beforehand. She stopped a mere few feet away, her line of vision coming up to his broad chest. She inwardly cursed at the Higher Ups for making her so short when compared to her Chosen, it wasn't fair. "It makes sense," she continued her sentence, peering up at him again with bright, cobalt eyes. "Seeing as how We were the creators of the bond." She murmured, the last bit of her sentence was her mainly talking to herself. "The golden symbol on your finger only alerts you that you're a Chosen, the bonding is not yet complete. In order to fully finalize the Bond, skin-to-skin contact must be initiated." Angelique placed a hand above her heart,"Once completed, the true Mark will be displayed on the Angel's left collarbone and the Chosen's left palm." She didn't mention how they would feel each other's emotions, not wanting to ward him away. Maybe the Chosen were taught at least that much..?
He grinned at her, unable to contain the happiness that filled him any longer. It took its place in every nook and cranny of his entire being, making every part of him ache. As he opened his mouth to speak, the cool-eyed Angel bonded to Jax began to explain the completion of the bond. He snapped his mouth shut, deciding it was best to listen even though he wanted to learn as much as he could about Arielle herself. After all, they weren't taught much about what it took to be a Chosen. They just underwent numerous training sessions and courses on battlefield techniques. When the other Angel said something about a Mark on his palm and Arielle's collarbone, he shot her a worried glance. Would it hurt? He didn't know, he didn't really know anything about his Angel and that thought made him feel somewhat useless. `

Angelique's cool and collected attitude put Jax at ease despite his beating heart. This was what he was meant for. He hadn't known if he wanted to be Chosen, he wanted to help his people, but the burden placed on his shoulders wasn't one he would choose. His mind was changed now, seeing her. He would choose Angelique, this was his purpose and he felt ready. He blinked, slightly surprised that the bond wasn't complete. The feelings were already so powerful he was surprised they would only grow stronger. He was nervous still, he didn't know much of what to expect other than that being Chosen was like no other feeling, it was overwhelming. "Okay." He listed to her instruction and reached out his left hand. Whatever this was, they were in it together.
Arielle watched Angelique explain for a moment, her cool attitude could be alarming for those who didn't know her, but currently it seemed to be more calming. She caught Malik's concerned gaze and gave him a reassuring nod, her eyes light and a smile remained on her lips. Malik fascinated her and she wanted to know him, once they completed the bond she was sure they would have plenty of time for that. She hoped her nod was enough to calm his nerves, she wanted him to feel ready as she was. He had the power to reject the bond, a thought which terrified her, but his gentle smile told her she didn't have reason to worry.

Carly's heart skipped a beat at Wells' grin. Even though the bond had not yet been completed, his happiness was infectious to her. She tried to hide a smile that bubbled to her lips but just let it happen instead. Once Angelique began her explanation, she listened attentively. Oh. A touch. Carly was by no means a touch-feely person, so she couldn't help but roll her eyes a little at the sentimental motion that would officially make her his Chosen. Still, at least she liked him so far. That was already more than she could ask for.
"Let's get this over with then, shall we?" Carly investigated her golden mark one more time before raising her left hand. She tried to be graceful and less like she was entering a job interview, but the motion seemed awkward nonetheless.
Dylan stuck around, leaning against the wall. He folded his wings, giving them a final ruffle first. He was curious to see what it was like for bonds to be completed. Other than the marks, their minds would be connected as well. That was a commitment greater than humanly marriage.

At his soft "okay," Angelique released the breath she had been holding, a sigh of relief escaping her lips. Of course, like all Angels, she was terrified at the idea of being rejected. Despite holding a slight grudge towards humans, the feeling of having her Life Essence being drained away was an emotion she never wanted to feel. And besides, upon meeting Jackson, all judgements she had placed upon the human race almost disappeared. Key word: almost. Because maybe, with him by her side, she could change the future his ancestors had laid ahead for them. She slowly took his hand in hers, his much larger one enveloping hers almost completely. She inhaled sharply, the tingling of his skin against hers an unfamiliar sensation. Angelique could feel the skin burn where her Mark was beginning to form. The sensation wasn't unpleasant but it wasn't something she desired to experience again. And she wouldn't have to.
The reassuring smile Arielle sent his way soothed his nerves completely and he let out a shaky breath. He gave her a relieved glance, an unspoken conversation going on between them. Malik didn't have to shoulder everything by himself anymore, he had his Angel. He was hers and she was his. How could he have been so stupid? With Arielle by his side, he felt as if he could do anything. Looking over to where Jackson and his Angel were, he noticed they were completing their bond. Turning back over to Arielle, he gave her a dazzling grin as he outstretched his hand toward her. "Shall we?" He questioned, his stomach coiling itself into knots with nervousness. He reminded himself to calm down, there was nothing to grow anxious about. By the looks of it, Arielle had accepted him. She didn't have to worry about him rejecting her, Malik felt complete as soon as his eyes settled on her form.

Wells caught Carly's eyeroll at the mention of touch, he was certainly amused by her attitude and he could tell that despite her sass she was a bit nervous. He glanced over as Angelique and Jackson confirmed their bond, along with Arielle and Malik. He was ready, he knew he was and he felt relief roll off his shoulders because Carly was ready too. She wasn't leaving him to feel empty until death, she was in this with him. He smiled at her outstretched hand and placed one hand on his collarbone, the other took hers. The effect was immediate. It was a warmth radiating from one being to the other, he felt as if he was glowing and she too. He could feel the slight burn of their bond and he smiled warmly at her.
Jackson could see her relax slightly, he wasn't sure what she had to be nervous about but he was pleased to have been able to lessen whatever burden she has been feeling. His larger hand held hers her skin was soft and all at once he could feel a tingling burn as the mark materialized. He gasped low under his breath in surprise, it didn't hurt, but it wasn't what he had expected. His grey eyes met her icy blue pair and he gave her a crooked grin. He could feel the connection, it was something more he couldn't put words too, it was an understanding. He hadn't been overly thrilled to meet the angels. Everything he had been told was that they were self centered, thought themselves above everyone, and conceited. But seeing Angelique, feeling this bond, let him know that wasn't even close to reality.
Arielle decidedly loved that smile. She felt confidence surge through her as she smirked. "We shall." She agreed with a wink and stretched out her own smaller and paler hand to take his, her other hand rested on her collar for her own mark to form. She felt the connection as the mark formed, a tingling itch on her clavicle. "Don't be nervous." She whispered to sooth him as she felt his slight anxiety. She was here for him now, forever by his side and she couldn't imagine how she spent the first 300 years without him.

She managed to remove her gaze from his, even though how nice it felt to be the center of attention in his eyes. She internally whined at the loss of the warmth his look gave her, but she wanted to glance down at her mark. It was slightly raised and red from recently appearing, a physical entity of their bond. It was.. nice. She now had someone to lean on during the worst of times, someone to have her back when the war was too much. She took her free hand to brush the Mark, the other one still holding his, lightly shivering when her fingertips touched the sensitive skin. Angelique hummed in approval, glancing up at Jackson with something akin to affection. She'd never admit it though, not right now. But her heart swelled with the emotion as she glanced at the Chosen in front of her.
His body soothed with her touch and her whisper of reassurance, a small gasp leaving his mouth as he felt the light tingling sensation in his palm when their skin touched. The Mark began to form on his palm, the feelings that flowed through him were indescribable. It was a mixed array of emotions, both his and Arielle's combined. It didn't hurt as much as he had expected, and for that he was grateful. Her hand was clutched tight in his and he squeezed it gently, giving her a childish grin.

His hand remained in hers, he was glad she didn't pull away because he didn't want to let go quite yet. He felt strangely light and pleasant, their bond was strong and something he could already tell he would need in battle. She would help him get through this war, and he would be right at her side every moment she needed him. He watched her fingertips graze gently against the mark on her clavicle, the mark was interesting, he liked it. His would match, a physical sign of their bond. He glanced at her, his eyes light with happiness he didn't expect himself to feel. "You like it?" He asked her curiously, although he wasn't sure if Angelique would admit if she did.
Arielle was thrilled to feel his excitement as well, it only reassured her he was the correct match. She felt him squeeze her hand playfully and she smiled brightly back. She moved her hand from the slightly puffy mark on her collar and smirked up at him. "Well what do you think?" She asked him, as if questioning his opinion on a new dress rather than a mark shared by each of them. She wanted to see his matching one, but she didn't want to to let go of his hand yet so she glanced down at her own mark instead.

As soon as their hands touched, Carly was surprised at the feeling that flooded her body. It definitely wasn't what she expected, and not as pleasant as when she first laid eyes on her Angel. She looked at him and forced a smile as the prickly warmth began to die down. His gold eyes continued to lure her in, but at the same time she felt fear unlike what she had felt in a long time. Commitment was another thing Carly had never been able to grasp easily, and she knew this was one with more weight than any other. Still, she held on, accepting her fate. The mixed feelings of uncertainty, contentedness, and admiration were a huge jumble in her stomach. You can do this Carly. A lo hecho, pecho.

{{ yesss, new characters are the best }}
"It's.." her words caught in her throat as she continued to look down at the Mark. Angelique couldn't pull her eyes from it, she couldn't look back into Jackson's, too entranced at the symbol above her heart. A swirl of emotions pulsated within her body the longer she stared, stirring up deeper emotions. Affection for the Chosen that completed the bond, wonder at how she finally had someone to be there for her, and a small sense of warmth flashed in her heart, for she now had someone that meant the whole world to her. "..divinus." She breathed, finally finishing her sentence. Her head shot up, realizing she just spoke in Latin. "Divine, I.. I meant divine." She mumbled sheepishly, not knowing if the Chosen were taught the Angel's ancient language of Latin.
He let out a small hum of content as he stared at her Mark, trailing his eyes from her neck, to her lips, and back to her eyes. "It's gorgeous." He murmured, his brain too muddled that his words weren't comprehending with his mind. He wasn't too sure if he was talking about her or the Mark on her neck. Either way, his statement was true. Their Mark. The thought of that sent a shiver down his spine, he wasn't alone anymore. His face broke out into a grin again as he tilted his head at Arielle. "What do you think about it?"

Wells could now feel her hesitation, they were bonded and she had committed as whole hearted as he did, but he knew she was still nervous. In a way being Chosen felt like a loss of individuality, but a gain of something better. He wasn't going to rush her and he understood the potential for concern especially for someone fiercely individual like Carly. He held her hand still, but put his under hers so he could look at the mark now present on her palm. "Are you okay?" He asked her kindly.
Jackson smiled at her chose description, although he was fairly certain it wasn't just the mark that was Devine. Her whole presence took his breath away, everything about her was unique and not what one would expect for an angel, but her aura was still angelic and amazing. The way her eyelashes hooded her bright blue eyes as she glanced down at the mark on her collar bone intriguing, she really was beautiful. "I agree." He replied. He didn't know much Latin, but due to English being of Latin root he didn't find it too difficult to pick up, he was a quick learner.
"Hmmm" Arielle hummed as she thought about his question. She loved the mark, but she wasn't going to make it easy on him. She took his hand with both of hers then and ran her fingers gently over the mark on his palm. She held his hand still has her mint green eyes shifted back up to his own, a playful smirk danced across her lips and she shrugged slightly. "Well, I suppose it's alright." Arielle replied, but her eyes said otherwise. They shined brightly, her enthusiasm evident.
