( yep yep ! @ fire: my characters are in carriages (save for micah, who's going to the boats) so theyre. u know. free for interaction. )
Cyrus ;;
The jerk of the carriage moving caused him to snort softly and glance back. He'd been told, by Zacharie, that there were Thestrals - but he couldn't see a thing. For a moment he simply squinted, before turning his gaze to the girl whom had spoken up. He took a moment to settle down and turn his head to watch the world go by, a small frown on his face.
"Hello," he said, after a few moments. "Sorry for imposing on your carriage."
He let his fingers lace together on his lap, gaze flicking absently to other carriages. From the corner of his eye, he could see Hogwarts castle approaching. It was not as much of a home to him as most people seemed to think it was to them - he didn't find it homely. It was a school. He would be free after this year, and he could go on to do what he felt like doing. Admittedly, he was aiming to make it in the Ministry...but there were various opportunities open to him. He just hoped that this year wouldn't give him too much trouble.
Really, he wasn't a huge trouble-maker, as such (though there were horror stories from when he'd been younger) - but he was prone to diving into danger headfirst, which, y'know. It sort-of wasn't allowed. Poking around in the Forbidden Forest (though only on the outskirts) had always been one of his favourite habits, or teasing the creatures beneath the waters of the lake. Always when he was alone, because he was supposed to be some sort of role model now, he supposed.

Calliope Calliope blinked, looking up from her book in confusion. "Ah, you're right," she murmured, unable to help but feel like she wasted the journey studying for a test that wouldn't even happen yet. It happened every year, and already the burden of burying herself in her work was starting to overwhelm her. Keep it together Calliope, the school year hasn't even started yet. Blaze was curled on top of her untouched wandlore book, which she looked at longingly. Light reading for during the sorting ceremony, perhaps? Though Calliope paid attention every year, more often than not the other Ravenclaws were lost in their own worlds, either writing or reading or some even practicing their charms and mixing potions in mini travel kits. Yes, once a Ravenclaw got started on something, it was hard to make them stop. No one would mind if she were to do some research through it, probably. It wasn't like she was exactly popular at the school or knew any of the first years coming in. Yes, that settled it. Feeling a bit lighter, she began to pack up the books she had scattered about her side of the compartment, even daring to hum to herself as she gently pried Blaze away from the seat. She watched Logan leave for a moment, feeling a pang of regret for not making more of an effort. Yes she had to focus on her studies, but did that always have to mean being cold to everyone? Blaze meowed, almost as if answering her. I guess so.That was right, Calliope had chosen this. She would stick with this, and lead a great life. If friends came along, that'd be nice. If not... She shook her head and walked towards the carriages, Blaze perched on her shoulder, even though he was getting a little big for that. He meowed again, presumably at the thestrals, and as usual, Calliope half wished she could see them. More curious than anything. Not like she wanted to witness death, just an amazing creature of the wizarding world she hadn't been able to get to know yet. Who knew what the future held? She winced at the grim thought, and decided it might just be best to hop in a carriage and pretend that little train of thought never happened. (Not quite sure where to put her, I don't remember if the carriages were sorted by houses or years or something ^^")

I didn't want to waste what I typed, so I just added onto it lol)
|Nate|
Nate had been laying his head against one of the windows on the train, half asleep for basically the whole ride, but he woke up instantly when he realized how long they had been on the train, and that he started seeing some familiar features. "We're almost there, guys." He said to the others that were in the cabin with him. And sure enough, as soon as he said that, the train came to a slow halt. Nate smirked slightly. "How did you know that?" One of them asked with a chuckle as they started to gather their things. "Magic." Nate answered simply with a smirk, as the other guys rolled their eyes. Nates group then split up as they went on different carriages that their friends were on. Nate climbed onto the nearest one and settled down on the seat, laying his head back as he looked up at the sky.
|Ryker|
Ryker noticed they were coming to a halt and took in a deep sigh. "Another year at this god-forsaken place." He said with disgust in his voice as he tripped a first year who was coming down the hall, excitedly. "What out for that ledge there, bud." Ryker said with a smirk and the other Slytherins with him started laughing. "Well, we better be moving guys, we don't want to get left on this pitiful train." He said as he grabbed his things, walked out, and headed towards a carriage that a few Slytherin's were on, quickly climbing aboard.

|| Taya ||
''Oh, that's alright,'' Taya replied with a slight smile, not meeting the gaze of the Gryffindor that had joined her. She twiddled her thumbs awkwardly. Talking to people, especially people she didn't know, was always an issue for her, unfortunately. She'd never had strong social skills, and had always been that one kid at the back of the class that didn't talk unless spoken to. She tried to seem nice, and hoped that she didn't come off as too...intimidating? Nobody was really scared of her, in fact, she was an easy target for teasing from her classmates, but her resting face didn't really show kindness and warmth. Better to smile now than seem like a grump to this guy later.
[[ Rosestar i'll have Pippa in the same carriage as Calliope, if that's okay? just so you can actually roleplay lol c''x ]] || Pippa || Pippa smiled at the girl that had joined her in her carriage. She was glad of some company - when she was in an excited mood she always wanted someone to talk to, or all of her thoughts whizzed around in her head, unable to break out. In a calmer of moods, she would be perfectly happy to sit there and listen to the sounds of the forest as they past through the dusty track on the way to the great castle. ''Hi!'' she said, trying to push back her avalanche of tangled brown curls as a rather sharp gust of wind passed through. She shivered, and attempted to pin back her thick hair with a scrawny old hairband of hers - which she wasn't surprised failed miserably, as the hairband snapped. After the wind had passed, Pippa glanced back at the other girl. She noticed by her tie that she was a Ravenclaw. Huh, she'd never spoken to her before, and didn't know exactly what year she was in. She appeared older than Pippa by a few years, but age didn't really bother Pippa. All that mattered to her was that she had someone to talk to, and the thought that this other person might not want to talk to her didn't pass her mind.''Are you excited to be going back?'' she asked her enthusiastically, ''I sure am! I can't wait for Potions again. Oh, and Care of Magical Creatures! I'm definitely going to take that this year when they give us the choices of what we want to take and then study for our OWL's, which isn't until fifth year.''
[[ Fireclaw i'll say Luke's in the same carriage as Ryker is, if that's okay? c: ]]
|| Luke || Luke shivered with the bitter cold. Why was it so cold this evening? It was early September - summer had just passed. Well, it was most likely due to the fact that he wasn't wearing a coat over his robes. His Mother had been so fussy this morning, trying to force a warm coat on him. He'd refused, deciding not to let her have her way this time. Tia, however, didn't refuse, which irritated him a little. She was letting her mother rule her around...stupid Tia. His mother, a previous Hufflepuff, was an extremely caring woman, although caught up with the stress his previous Gryffindor father was caught up in, with the prospect of caring for eight children, along with the three family Labradors. Luke respected her for all she had done for him, but sometimes she got on his nerves, always nagging at him to do this and do that.
When another guy joined the carriage, Luke was whisked away from his thoughts. He noticed that he was a Slytherin (well, now that he thought about it, everyone here was a Slytherin) and a rather sour-looking one at that.
Luke wanted to spark a conversation, but for once his extroverted light was put out. This guy looked rather intimidating, if he said so himself. Not the sort of guy you'd want to play a prank on, say. And Luke played pranks on practically anyone. He stared at this older kid for a few moments, through eyes narrowed to slits as he examined him, debating on whether to say something, and then decided against it, turning his head away. If this other Slytherin wanted to talk, he could start the conversation himself.

Ryker settled down on his seat, sitting across from Luke. He sat there awhile before he realized someone was even there, he had things on his mind, bad things, things that would get him expelled out of Hogwarts if anybody knew. "Oh um, didn't see you there." He said quickly as he looked over to the side and looked at a few Gryffindors playing around. "Pftttt." He said before looking back at Luke. "This year will be different, we will show them we are the best." Now, people might of thought he was saying Slyrherin's were the best, but anybody who knew Ryker would instantly know that he was talking about Pureblood's.

|| Luke ||
Luke was a little taken-aback by this. Now this guy was almost the complete opposite of the timid Micah he had spoken to during the entire train journey here. He was sure a strong and proud Slytherin.
''Yeah, I agree, we are the best,'' Luke replied with a smirk. He did agree, he personally thought Slytherin's were the best by far, but he wasn't really fond of the idea of ''showing them'' that they were best. At least, not in the way that he suspected Ryker wanted to show them. But he wasn't one to ''stand out'' from the crowd. That was never where he wanted to be. Different wasn't interesting in his eyes, at least, not if the different person was him. Luke preferred to blend into the crowd, unless he was pulling a prank, and he loved to pull pranks on Gryffindors most of all. Luke was the sort of person that was a terrible attention seeker, always wanting the limelight, but also wanted to be bland and tasteless, fitting in so perfectly. It wasn't always a great combination to be in a school atmosphere.

[[ Rosestar i'll have Pippa in the same carriage as Calliope, if that's okay? just so you can actually roleplay lol c''x ]] || Pippa || Pippa smiled at the girl that had joined her in her carriage. (Works for me, this should be fun XD) Calliope Calliope blinked, caught off guard by the sudden interaction. Not even the moment she climbed onto the carriage, and the girl was already talking to her. About what? She was talking so fast Calliope could barely keep up. She glanced the other girl. Young looking Gryffindor. Clearly just wanting someone to talk to. Calliope could handle that, once she knew what was happening. Talking about classes? Easy as pie.
She took a minute to sit down, giving the other girl a small, shy smile. "I'm excited too. I already took my OWL's, so I already got to pick everything, so naturally I'm pretty eager for my schedule. I just wish they had a wandlore class, I think that'd be fascinating. Alchemy is going to be pretty cool though, luckily enough people signed up for it." she said, stopping herself there. At this rate she'd be reciting her entire schedule to this stranger. As chatty as she appeared, it was doubtful this Gryffindor would actually care that much.
"What else do you plan on taking?" she asked, smoothing down her skirt. Maybe if the other girl had any questions or concerns, Calliope could answer some questions for her.

Cyrus ;;
He considered the girl for a moment, thought of how different she was compared to the girls he was generally in-class with. Cyrus just wasn't used to having to keep up the conversation, and he noted that the silence seemed to be awkward rather than a calming one. This irritated him, for whatever reason, and so he exhaled softly and flicked his gaze back to the approaching castle.
"What year are you in?" he asked, for something to keep up a vague conversation.
He noted that if either of his siblings had been here, either this girl wouldn't talk, or she'd be drowned in conversation. Cyrus knew that he was intimidating to look at, but...well, that was just how things went when you were too tall and very rarely smiled genuinely. He wouldn't even attempt to smile, because that wasn't who he was.

|| Taya ||
''Sixth year,'' Taya replied, ''what about you?'' Taya looked around. They'd almost reached the castle now, and she imagined plates upon plates of food laid out upon the Hufflepuff table during the great feast. She was hungry, having not eaten since lunch, and only then she'd had just a ham and cheese sandwich. She couldn't wait to gobble up as much dinner as she could handle that evening.
|| Pippa || The third-year listened intently as the other girl talked about the subjects she was taking, and practically almost jumped out of her seat when she mentioned wandlore. ''I love wandlore!'' she said, ''in fact, when I'm older I'd love to be a wandmaker, although it's really complex to learn, and I'm not exactly a Ravenclaw.''Well, that was certainly true. Pippa didn't quite have the quiet, intent thought process of a Ravenclaw. She didn't think before shooting her hand up in class, and hardly ever revised, being her unorganised self. If someone was standing in a classroom watching, they'd think she was incredibly smart, getting the answer so quickly, until they discovered that all the answers she blurted out were wrong. It surprised everyone when one was right, actually.''Hmm, maybe Divination,'' she replied, ''I know loads of people say it's boring, but it looks fun to me. Did you take Divination?''
|| Luke || Luke watched with a slight scowl as the other kid said what sounded like a complex spell that only the older students would know, aiming his wand at a bunch of Hufflepuffs. Suddenly they were tangled up and fell over. Now, Luke was definitely one to play pranks, but not to make it clear that if was him. This other Slytherin was a terrible pranker, in his opinion.
Not wanting to make himself heard too much, he watched as the Hufflepuffs writhed, trying to break free, and after a while he turned to the older pupil. ''Maybe you should free them now?'' he suggested, not wanting to make them late.

Cyrus ;;
Alright, so the question was returned - that was something, at least. After judging how long they'd have to get to the castle (not long at all), Cyrus returned his gaze to the girl and huffed lightly.
"Seventh," he replied easily. "My name's Cyrus," he added, because he realised with some vague hint of amusement that he hadn't bothered to introduce himself. That wasn't very polite of him. He shifted his weight in his seat and listened to the sound of the carriages moving, scanning briefly for any familiar faces. There were none, which wasn't a surprise; when he was younger, Cyrus had always befriended people older than him. It looked like that was taking a toll, now. What sort of seventh year was friendless? This one!
He reached up a hand to scratch the back of his head, frowning thoughtfully into the middle distance.
