"Oh God," Ingrid groaned when the name 'Ryker McAllister' came up "do I know Ryker McAllister. Please say you made him really angry. I'll be so happy if you made him angry. I kind of hate him"
She loved her friend. They were so similar and yet so different to each other that they fitted together like jigsaw pieces. Ingrid didn't know what she'd do without Kaitlyn - the girl was as big a part of her life than her sister.
Admittedly, she was a little afraid at the prospect of a duel, purely because her friend might get hurt and Ingrid didn't think she would be able to survive without Kaitlyn. She would totally blame herself too. She didn't know why yet, but she'd find a way to blame herself. Ingrid usually found a way, even if she had no involvement whatsoever.

|| Taya ||
Taya couldn't help my laugh a little. It was true, Ingrid probably was serious about whatever she was secretly planning with Kaitlyn. Hopefully it wasn't anything too...drastic. Taya wouldn't be surprised if it was, Ingrid had done some pretty crazy stuff in her time here.
Suddenly the sound of students getting up from their seats sounded. Taya looked up. It seemed as if Professor McGonagall had dismissed everyone.
''Well, I'll see you tomorrow?'' Taya said, getting up, finding that she was full from all the food she had eaten that night. As Amalthea was a prefect, it was her duty to help the Ravenclaw first years find their way to their dormitories, which stopped Taya from being able to talk to her friend for at least a little longer. She'd see Amalthea at breakfast tomorrow morning, anyway. Hopefully, like last year, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw sixth and seventh years would be sharing a lunch again - but that was extremely unlikely. They were very lucky to have had their breaks at the same time last year. For it to happen again would be close to a miracle.

Ned raised an eyebrow at that. "I wish I could forget. You were in the infirmary for three days, totally milked it too. Wouldn't stop demanding food to be brought to you."
They'd all had their share of injuries. In his fourth year, Ned fell off his broom from thirty feet up and broke his spine. Had it been the muggle world, he would have been paralyzed from the waist down for life. As it was, he had the magical world at his disposal, and he was fitter than a flea now. Unfortunately, it'd been quite a spook for his parents. Mum tried to convince him to drop the sport for months. The injury was also beyond the capabilities of the Matron, and the hospital bills at St. Mungo's had not been cheap. He was in the ward for nearly a month.
But the last thing he wanted to do was scare a fresh face away. "You'll be fine," he assured her. "They start you out slowly, making sure you're comfortable with handling a broom."

"I wish," she snorted. "His insufferable smirk didn't twitch once. I'm pretty sure his face is carved out of plaster. He's certainly pale enough." Those sharp lines don't help either. "He's about as bad as I thought he'd be. Doesn't stray from the expectations or gossip, that's for sure."
Kaitlyn heard the distinct sounds of benches scraping as hundreds of students rose from their seats. They must be dismissed.
"Look, I won't go into the details now," she whispered furtively. "We'll wait until we're all together: you, Tori, and I. All you need to know right now is that I called him an imbecile and he was petty enough to challenge a duel for it."

"Hey, I was a growing boy, I need to eat my fill." Nate said with a fake roll of the eyes before chuckling softly and standing up. "Well, let's get to bed guys." Nate said to them, just now realizing how full he was.
Haylee stood up, it was the Head Girls job to round up all of the Hufflepuff first years. "Hufflepuff first years, please follow me!" She called over the commotion of people leaving and chatting amongst themselves. "I'll lead you to your dormitories!"
Jackson stood up from the Ravenclaw table and following the rest of the Ravenclaws out, reading a book while they were walking back to their rooms. "I'm beat." He said as he tried to manage to stifle a yawn.
Ryker stood up from the Slytherin table, his signature smirk still on his face as he headed towards the Slytherin dungeons, casting Kaitlyn a look over his shoulder that basically said "I never wanted to argue you, but you caused all of this."

"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow!" Amalthea had replied as her friend got up, Amalthea quickly following suit. She would have to lead the first years back to their dormitories now. Not the most interesting job, she had to admit, but it was fine. It was one of her duties so she'd do it. The first years were already looking at her expectantly as she smiled "Alright, first-years over here. I'm Amalthea Lux, I'm one of the Ravenclaw prefects this year. I'm here to answer any of your questions, but only once we get back to the dormitories. I'm going to lead you back to your dormitories now, where your things will be ready and waiting for you. As I said, if you have any questions, be sure to ask me, another prefect, or one of the professors. Even the older students might be willing to help you out if you get a little stuck" [Idk, skip?]

((Fireclaw : ))"Alright, fair enough," Ingrid said as she stood "be sure to keep me posted, though. I want to know everything that's going on." That's when she saw Ryker shooting Kaitlyn a look, something which for some reason made Ingrid burst into uncontrollable peals of laughter. There was something about that look that seemed absolutely hilarious to her. She didn't know why, it was just the look on his face. She didn't know expressions could be that accusing. She'd never seen anything like it, that was for sure.

Kaitlyn stopped in her movements toward the great door, looked back at her friend with something like surprised amusement. "What's tickled you so much?" Ingrid's laughter could be heard even over the loud chattering echoing in the Great Hall, causing nearby students to stop and give her funny looks.
And they say I've made a scene, Kaitlyn thought wryly.

Ned arose from the table, joining the stream of students. "I gotta go Nate. Prefect duties, you know. See you back in our room."
Then he pushed his way to the front of the crowd. "First years! First year Gryffindors, please follow me!"
((sorry these are short, I'm trying to multi-task))

"Oh, nothing," Ingrid smiled, having calied down a little "Ryker just shot you the dirtiest look ever, that was all. It looked hilarious. He looked really mad"
Okay, she was getting funny looks, but it was hilarious.

"Mmm. Sounds like him. Did he do that thing where he didn't blink? I didn't catch the look." Classic McAllister.
At the cry of the prefects calling for first years, Kaitlyn felt a familiar pang in her chest. She kept hoping that she would be made one, that her good marks and (generally) good behavior would earn her the prestigious title. But it didn't look like it would be the case. Hogwarts used to send out prefect badges in the mail with the book lists, but that tradition had been halted a few years back due to the repeat issue with students losing their badges before school started. Now they were announced on the first day of classes, at the breakfast assembly.
Kaitlyn was certain it wasn't a title she would earn.
"I'll see you tomorrow," she promised Ingrid. Making eye contact with Tori, Kaitlyn offered her a wave. Then she followed the rest of the Slytherins towards the dungeons.

( hmm probably during that evening; she tends to practice magic when in hogwarts bc she wants to keep on the top of her game, so realising that she has none while she's in the common room that evening is probs gonna be the best way to go about it o: ) [[ okie dokie! ]]

( okay !! is there anything you prefer her to do when she finds out o: she's in equal parts likely to hide it as she is to go to a teacher, so either is fine uvu )

((We could skip to like the end of the first week of school? Maybe the last class period before the weekend starts.))
