(yeah I didn't read over the previous posts in detail. Is there anything Crow is needed for there or should I just put him back at the oak?)

(( Me and Berry are sending Lynx and Ember back to the Oak ))
Lynx arrived at the oak and finally felt a sense of warmth hit his soft orange fur as he saw two kits with Ember.

Ember set the bedding down around the kits, purring as she worked. "These aren't my kits," she mentioned passively to Lynx when she noticed him watching. "but I love them like they are anyway." Being around them took some of the pain away from memories of her own kits.

Rinako looked down at the kittens. His eyes widened. "These...are the cutest things I have ever laid eyes on." he said in monotone. He crouched down in front of the closest kitten, putting his face right in front of it's face.

Ember decided she didn't mind the toms getting close to the kits. They seemed to like the kits anyway.

Squirrel was woken by the sound of voices. Unfamiliar scents came from around her, and she nuzzled closer to the she-cat that smelled somewhat—but not quite—like her mother.
I'm back guys! ))

"I find it strange that these kittens can survive without the care of no-furs." Rinako mewed, still staring at the kits. He noticed Raven in particular. "That black one would have been thrown out by the no-furs, though."

"Thanks" Ember mewed to Lynx. She gave Squirrel a couple of licks on the forehead before turning to Rinako. Her whiskers twitched in amusement. "We don't need twolegs to survive. Kits are fine as long as they have their mother..." Ember's voice trailed off and she was quiet for a moment. She looked up at Rinako again. "What do you mean 'thrown out'? Twolegs wouldn't like him?"

"They don't seem to like black cats very much. A shame, really," Rinako said, flicking his tail in irritation of past memories. "How particular they are about us."

Ember snorted. "Well, twolegs are just bad business anyway. I wouldn't want to live near one."

" My father lived as a kittypet. Disturbing life ... Im always happy that Im a wild cat " He layed down as he saw a kit wake up " Hello little one .. " He mewed softly. " Whats your name ? " He gave a soft gave.

Ember nodded in agreement. She couldn't imagine living life as a kittypet, and she wasn't sure how Rinako seemed so used to it.

(hey sorry haven't had a chance to formulate a reply yet because I've been busy with class and planning some larp stuff. So much planning. So much information. So many oranges.)
Crow could see the light of the oak clearing through the trees, four small mice hanging from his jaws as he wove through the snow-laden undergrowth, returning from hunting (I guess). Prey was still quite scarce, but he had been lucky enough to find a small den of the creatures, huddled for warmth in the roots of a twisted pine. The deer meat had begun to run out, and after several days of sitting Crow felt as though what was left wouldn't be good much longer, and so he had taken it upon himself to find something fresher. The kits were beginning to wake up now, and he wanted to make sure that they were well-fed, and that everyone else had the energy to keep up with them.
As he neared the clearing, he caught the scent of unfamiliar cats, overpowering even the mice. He bristled defensively, breaking into a fast trot, defensive at the idea of cats he didn't know being around Starling's kits without him being there to supervise.

Ember's ears pricked as she heard fast pawsteps, and she turned around to see Crow. "Welcome back!"

Rinako turned towards the newcomer. Another stranger, he thought. Exactly how many cats live here?

Squirrel turned her head away from the she-cat, the calming tone of the mews relaxing her. She made a faint squeaking sound.

Ember reached down and gave a few licks to the squeaking kit. Ember only saw Starling once, when her body was being carried away, but she could see that Squirrel was going to be every bit as beautiful as her mother.

" She seems like a strong one " He purrs as he sees the harmless kit sit quietly and he waits for her to calm again. " What is her name ? " He asked Ember as the kit never told him.

Squirrel laid down, her tail curled around herself, confident now that these cats meant her no harm.

" Hello Squirrel. I'm Lynx. " The kit had wide eyes and he hoped she wasn't scared of strangers as Lynx was when he was a kit. " I was lost at 5 moons. Luckily I was taken in but I have never found my Mom or Siblings " He mewed with grief. Hoping this kit would have never to face the loss of even more family than she already lost her Mother.

Although Squirrel couldn't understand everything he had said, she could still hear the emotions in his voice. Cautiously, she opened her eyes, seeing for the first time what the world looked like. There was dark brown background, with a brighter area off to the side, and the ground was covered in green and brown stuff. In front of her was a gray speckled tail, and beyond that was a pale amber blob she guessed was the cat who had just spoken. Her kit-blue eyes struggled to take everything in; most of her vision was indistinct and blurry.
(( In case you were confused, all kittens start out with blue eyes, and gain their eye colors after a little bit. As I researched this, I also found out that they open their eyes super slowly, but I'd already written the part where it happens all at once, so I don't really care to change it. ))

(Yeah all animals- including humans- begin with blue-grayish eyes. Not 100% sure of the science behind it but their eyes don't turn until they've been exposed to sunlight. That's one reason that creatures that live almost exclusively underground either do or stereotypically have milky blueish eyes. But that, along with the fact that kittens usually open their eyes slowly- is something traditionally ignored by the Warriors series so I don't generally make a point to include it. There's nothing wrong with including it, though.)
Crow bristled slightly as he looked over the newcomers, but he forced his fur to flatten as he nodded in response to Ember and padded over, half-intentionally putting himself between the kits and the strangers. He dropped the mice in the corner of the den, then picked up two and brought them to Ember. "For you," he meowed as he placed them at her paws, before straightening up and looking at the others more levelly, thinly-veiled suspicion in his expression. "Who are you?"
----------
Snow lay on his back, splayed out and asleep. He wrinkled his nose, annoyed at the voices around him, disturbing his slumber. As he heard Crow speak, he gave up trying and flailed his paws to roll over, slowly blinking open his eyes for the second time. Before, he had awoken briefly to his mother- or, who he thought was his mother- before tiring himself out looking around the den, and promptly falling back asleep. Now, he saw several more intruders into the den, as well as a brilliant splash of white, which he narrowed his eyes against as they adjusted to being open.

"I suppose you could call me Rinako," He mumbled, flicking his tail. "I assume this home is yours?" He stepped away and drifted towards the den's exit when Crow had put himself between Rinako and the kits he was admiring.

Crow nodded. "Yes, mine and my late sister's. And now, Ember as well, for as long as she chooses to stay." The white tom cast a quick glance at the she-cat. "Might I ask how you ended up here?" He didn't mean to be hostile, but he had grown up suspicious of others and wasn't entirely comfortable having cats he didn't know around the kits- not until he had felt them out first.
