for the curious: this is still open, although my activity may be spotty as i'm back at school. shoot me a pm or post here if you're interested and don't mind a partner who can't always reply promptly.
heyo, everyone! I'm flo. i'm always looking for opportunities to find more rp partners, so here i am, throwing out a bunch of plots in hopes someone will be interested in them! i'll likely add more later, but i feel like these are enough for now. here is some quick info about me: ● my schedule is always a mess, so often i won't be quick to respond. i apologize for that. i do, however, prefer long term roleplays, so i tend not to disappear. ● usually my posts are multiple paragraphs and range from 200 to 600 words, although i'll match post length if you normally write more than that. i would appreciate someone who can give me something to respond to. your posts don't have to be incredibly long as long as i can reply to them! ● your character's gender and orientation doesn't matter to me and lgbtqa+ ocs are welcome! romance isn't the focus of these plots, so our ocs don't need to be compatible. if you want to add in an aspect of romance go for it, although my character won't reciprocate unless our characters have chemistry. ● most of these plots are intentionally open-ended, so duplicates will not have the same characters with the same motives doing the same thing. fell free to plot additional things with me! i love working with people to come up with plots. ALSO: if you really want a certain plot but it's full, hit me up and we'll figure out how to put a different spin on it. ● when suggesting plots: i'm open to most things, but i prefer there to be some sort of action from the get-go so it doesn't turn into polite conversation and feet shuffling a few posts in. currently, i'm most interested in supernatural/fantasy/sci-fi plots (in that order), since that's where my ocs tend to fit in best. i'm wiling to deviate from this, but those are what i tend to do best with and where i have the most fun. the only things i'm unlikely to do are certain shows/movies/books/etc. i have little to no knowledge of, something that i can't see making a particularly interesting roleplay, or something with subject matter that makes me uncomfortable. if your plot goes along with a piece of media i may have heard of it, so just ask! if i have not, you can attempt to explain it to me as long as you don't care that i might not be spot-on in my portrayal of everything. also, if any of my suggestions bring up subject matter you'd rather not write about, let me know so i won't bring it up in the future.
do i wanna know? With a powerful combination of substantial wealth and ruthless ambition, Muse A is no longer surprised when opportunities to gain power present themselves. For most of their lives, they have always known exactly what to do to make the most of any situation. If they continue to play their cards right, the fortune of their family and an unprecedented amount of social influence are guaranteed. Muse B was born into poverty and could see no easy path to the life they wanted, so they learned to make their own luck. They fought their way almost to the top, and now only one thing stands in their way: Muse A. The two had similar goals and might have been well-matched rivals in a different situations, but Muse B couldn't seem to escape Muse A's shadow. Then Muse A shows up at Muse B's apartment one night without warning and begs them for a favor. They need money. Muse B manages to gather the funds after a few quick calls to people they had helped out on the past, and Muse A pauses just long enough to ask that the meeting be kept confidential before leaving with the cash. Once Muse B has some time to consider just how unusual the situation was, they realize the cash was negligible when compared to Muse A's fortune. So why the need for panic? The fact Muse A had stooped so low as to go begging for money would be quality blackmail material; the motivation behind the action would certainly reveal secrets better left undisturbed. Muse B could effectively destroy their opponent's career with a well-placed word. But something keeps them from doing it. Maybe it's a sliver of moral decency, or perhaps it's the knowledge that having control over Muse A would allow them to do almost anything. As it stands, Muse A is indebted to Muse B, who is unwilling to mind their own business now that they know their opponent is hiding something.
it's time to run, it's time to run The kingdom of Tueberis has been at war with an adjacent kingdom, Caedaris, for little over a year. In the beginning, no one was concerned. Border disputes were common in the region; generally, battles would be fought here and there until one kingdom relinquished its claim on a stretch of moorland or a river, and the problem was solved. A series of bad harvests have left everyone in the region with little food to spare, and the threat of famine has sent both sides scrambling to secure more land. Everyone is growing uneasy as armies are organized and plots to assassinate significant political figures—even royalty—are revealed. The king and queen of Tueberis decide to send their child, Muse A, to Adrudith, a kingdom in the North who has agreed to protect the heir to the throne. Muse B, a bodyguard who has been tasked with protecting the future ruler, accompanies them. There are miles of land between Tueberis and Adrudith, few good roads, and plenty of danger. The journey would be difficult with a pair of skilled travelers, and Muse B’s extensive training can’t make up for Muse A’s complete lack of experience. Muse B just wants to do their job and see the royal arrive safely at Adrudith, but that might be challenging, since Muse A wants to be the one giving orders. Liselotte (statice) and Val (flo) kings among runaways Muse A is a disillusioned young adult who flees their comfortable life and all the expectations that come with it, deciding life on the street is a better alternative. Muse B is a practiced theif who has no trouble taking care of themselves. They’ve seen firsthand how horrific life can be and know how easy it is to wind up dead in a ditch (or worse) when you’re trying to survive on your own. They take a liking to Muse A, although no one is sure whether they take them under their wing out of kindness or to get some sort of personal gain. For a time, everything is good. Muse A enjoys their newfound freedom, and Muse B finds that there are benefits to having a companion. Then the authorities begin taking notice of Muse B’s unsavory activities, and everything goes downhill. Muse B is desperate not to be caught and can’t risk Muse A being a liability. But this game isn’t fun anymore when lives are on the line, and Muse A finds themselves longing for the security of their former life and can’t understand why Muse B won’t let them go home. (Hint: It’s because having a prestigious person (such as the runaway heir to a large estate) begging for a criminal to be spared might persuade a judge to not require an execution.) Remiel (flo) and Liam (wingdings) Faris (blue) and Micu (flo) Alistair (flo) and Alex (venus) you and i are monsters Muse A has been cursed, through no fault of their own. It’s just one of the things that happens when your parents don’t listen to a witch’s warning. During the day, they transform into a creature that is truly terrible to behold. Understandably, this has made life difficult for them. They were abandoned at a young age by parents who believed it was the kindest solution, effectively left for dead. But they were found and taken in by a fae who swore to protect them from the cruelty of humans. Some years later, they meet Muse B, an amateur witch and the only human to have spoken to them in years. Instead of being horrified by the curse, Muse B is interested. Curses are never perfect—there’s always a loophole to be found. Perhaps Muse A isn’t destined to be a monster. And, as a witch, Muse B understands how much to hurts to be treated like a freak for circumstances that are beyond your control. There’s only one problem: the fae that has raised Muse A believes that humans are the monsters, not cursed beings. They want Muse A to have nothing to do with humans, least of all Muse B, who wants to steal them away and turn them into a human permanently. Kailen (lin) and Evandros (flo) free plots go ahead and suggest stuff! Tamara (flo) and Destiny (skittles) Conla (flo) an Sofia (wingdings)

no worries! i will be on and off tonight bc holidays, so it would be hypocritical for me to be upset with other people disappearing from time to time.
either would work for muse b, but liam could probably work as muse a as well if you wanted. i feel like liam would be more interesting as muse b, too—since he's not normally nice, he'd have an interesting motives for helping out muse a.

he would need to be especially savvy to survive, but he could potentially use the limp to his advantage. he could work with others, so he could distract the target while the other person stole from them, or he could be really good at slight of hand so he wouldn't necessarily have to cut and run once he stole something. it would also make others underestimate him, so he isn't going to be the first person you suspect. and since he can't get around as easily, he probably compensates by knowing a lot of short cuts and hideouts. it would be difficult for him as a character, but i think he could absolutely be a professional thief without him being unrealistic.

do you have any preferences as far as time period or genre? because this plot can easily be set in or outside of modern times, and it can definitely have fantasy or sci-fi elements if we want to throw them in. the setting is pretty versatile.

i'm tempted to go for sci-fi or fantasy just so we can get another layer of conflict. like, my character could have been raised with the expectation that they become a powerful magic user, since that runs in their family and has gotten them a lot of money. so liam not only gets someone to tag along who can be used as a get of a jail free card, the person is also well informed about magic and can keep him from getting hurt my cursed items or what have you.
as for sci-fi... maybe medical technology to radically extend the human lifespan exists, but only the rich really have access to it, and there's a growing class gap because if you can live for ages it's much easier to accumulate wealth. so this young rich person wants to live like Real People live and joins up with liam after twenty minutes of near death experiments in the slums. and liam might be interested in getting access to some Nice Tech to fix up his limp and also potentially extend his life.
does any of that seem cool? honestly i'm just spitting out ideas.

Remiel Purvaiya -- genderfluid (primarily uses they, all pronouns fine) -- 27 An androgynous individual who obviously had a prestigious upbringing. You can see it in their stride, their posture, the way they speak to others. They have darkly tanned skin, a slim build, pale green eyes, and straight black hair that falls almost to their shoulders. Generally wears modest clothing in subdued colors—they don't enjoy outfits that display their status.
if you want any more info about remiel just ask! i tend to write pretty brief descriptions just to keep things simple.
the gist of the short story was that humans had gained the technology to switch consciousnesses between bodies, so deadth became optional for the upper echelon of humanity. they could also get a new body if they ever got tired of their old one. other forms of technology advanced with it, so people (if they are hecka rich) can back up their consciousnesses onto chips so if their body dies they can keep living. the rich get disillusioned with life while the poor are fighting so hard just to survive.
so, for this plot, remiel wanted a taste of Real Life and ran away to the sketchiest area they could find. liam probably realizes that this naive person is rich as hell and figures that he can twist that in his favor. or maybe he's just being really nice! his motives are entirely up to you.

[ ascendant: it can be either. i based it vaguely on a mishmash of fairy tales, but none of the details i picked out prevent it from being in modern times. most of these plots have no set time period and are vague enough to work in most settings. @wingdings: this is so dramatic but hey might as well ruin my oc's life from the get-go. honestly the two thugs are probably just going to give them a rough time, not murder them, but remiel doesn't know that. ] This wasn’t how things were supposed to go. This was supposed to be a quick trip—all they really wanted was to see how life was for normal people. Sure, they had heard it was a risky place to go to, especially for Aevs, but the threat had never seemed real to them. Even if they did get killed, they could be transferred into a nice new body with no memory of the trauma that came along with their death. No matter how terrible of a decision they made, they would never really face any consequences for it. That was just one of the many perks that came with being an Aev: the ability to live life free of any constraints, even death. But this was different than what they had expected. The saw the cold gleam of the knife one of the thugs was holding and felt a sharp jolt of pain as their foot caught on the curb and they hit the concrete, and they were afraid. “Please.” Their voice was strained, pleading. Pitiful. Why should they be afraid? Pain was fleeting. “Don’t do this. Please.” Stop begging. Stop cowering. You look ridiculous. Stand up. Remiel stumbled to their feet and tried to stop trembling. “Listen, this is a bad idea. You don’t want to hurt me. This will only end badly for you. What do you think the authorities will do when they find my corpse and trace it back to you? You’ll spend the rest of your life in prison, if they don’t kill you straight away. I don’t have any money on me, so what’s the point of killing me? It just doesn’t make sense!” As they spoke, the thug with the knife—a girl who couldn’t be older than twenty or so—lowered it and smiled at them. They let out a sigh of relief. “Do you think I’m some sort of imbecile?” she hissed. “No! I mean—” They stumbled backwards into a wall, covering the fresh wound on their face. God, she could really hit hard. “You can’t do this. Please stop.” Why was no one helping them? They thought they could see people hurrying by the entrance to the alleyway. Why would no one pause to help? They looked up at the girl, not even bothering to hold back their tears. “I don’t w-want to d-die.” She smiled and took a step forward. “Oh, don’t worry. You won’t. You Aevs never do.”
