Frostpetal purred, enjoying being close to her mate. She could feel how tense he was, and she was hoping her soft purrs could soothe him at least a bit. "Have you seen Dashclaw?" she asked hesitantly. She couldn't recall seeing the tom since their arrival at Highstones, but perhaps her mate had.

Thistlestalk dipped his head to Stormfury, as the tom approached "Is your family well Stormfury?" he asked hopefully.

Goldheart shivered at the thought "We're probably going to have to build the whole camp again... I hope we can give mother a proper burial.."

Thistlestalk's smile fell into a frown, "I'm sorry Stormfury. Are you okay?" he murmured, his mind racing back to the fact that he had lost Ribbondance as well.

Goldheart's ears fell flat as he gazed around "There are still cats missing, I wonder if they too have gone to Starclan.." he mewed, more thinking outloud that making more conversation. "Swiftstar hasn't returned yet."

Eclipsesky looked up at Silverspirit in surprise, the tom had been so caught up in his thought he hadn't even notice her approach. "Oh uh... no I'm okay. Heathersky's kits are perfectly healthy and my herbs are all here. Now we just wait, I guess."

Grasslight's panting gasps sounded up the path of the highstones camp, her ears flat and her throat choked with smoke. She rasped back to Dovestep.
"There! I-I see them, I...we're almost there!" She promised, desperate to see her kits and if Dashclaw was there. It was easy to guess where the clan had gone, as the camp had been evacuated. She prayed to Starclan that Cheetahheart would be alright, the fearless senior warrior rushing back to help any lost clanmates.

"Grasslight, Dovestep!" Blacktail called, counting the newest additions to the number of cats at the camp with a breath of relief. He grimaced with concern at their burns.

"Of course he made it, that coward was probably the first out of camp." Harewhisker lifted his gaze to follow Frostpetal's around the camp. He was certain he would see Dashclaw among their clanmates, but as the moments went by, he was spotting his brother. Harewhisker stood up, his ears falling back. Where was Dashclaw?

"Did Grasslight make it back?" Harewhisker looked at his mate. "Or Weaselpaw or Antpaw?"

Harewhisker flattened his ears, worry for his brother pricking his gut. Surely Dashclaw was in the camp. He had made it out with the other tunnels, didn't he? Harewhisker trotted over to Dustfire. "Dustfire. Wasn't Dashclaw behind you when you and the other tunnelers go out?"

Harewhisker grit his teeth and looked around. "No one's seen him so far." His pelt started to itch, Dashclaw couldn't still be out in those flames. "Let me know if you find him." Harewhisker turned and stalked off, his tail flicking restlessly behind him. When he reached Frostpetal's side once again, he let out a heavy sigh. If Dashclaw was here, he would've seen him by now. "I have to go back for him."

"I will." Harewhisker rubbed against her and his heart ached at her sweet scent. StarClan, Dashclaw better not have gotten himself into any trouble. "I love you, Frostpetal." He looked her in the eye so she would have no doubt. "Tell Blacktail what I'm up too, but don't let him send any warriors after me. No sense in endangering the rest of the Clan."

Frostpetal nodded, trying not to let her mate see the fear and worry that was building up inside her. "I love you so much." she murmured."If you're not back soon I'll come after you myself and no cat in the forest or in StarClan will be able to stop me." She pulled away from Harewhisker, a light glimmer in her eyes.

Stormfury nodded, his mood still sour. "Thank StarClan there's at least one clan in the forest that doesn't think I'm useless." He glanced over at the warrior. "WindClan better be thankful for this, they certainly lost fewer lives than ShadowClan did."

Fireblaze shook her head and poked her brother. "Leaders die too you fuzzball. If StarClan really is mad, maybe they're replacing him."

Silverspirit moved to sit next to the tom. "I guess I never knew you cared so deeply about him" she murmured. "I'm sorry....this must have been so hard for you, all of this. Do you want me to talk to him? I'm sure he didn't mean what he said...he cares about you a lot too."

“Where’s Dashclaw?” Grasslight rasped, her ears flat and her voice quaking. Stonepath had told her what had happened, and Rainfeather’s death was setting into the she-cat’s heart, tearing her up. Even worse, her mate was nowhere to be found.

Blacktail, busying himself in that moment with assisting the queens to more comfortable nests, had not been able to see Harewhisker slip out, though he did lift his head to release a calming breath, before moving to pad through the gathered Warriors, inquiring about their health and pain.

“What?” Grasslight gasped, her eyes wide with anxiousness. “He went off alone? What if he doesn’t find him? What if they both are lost out there!” She fretted, before a thick cough interrupted her. She was clearly exhausted, but her worry for her mate kept her on her paws.

Frostpetal tried to soothe Grasslight "I know, I don't like it any more than you do....but they're brothers. I'm sure they'll be fine."

Stormfury flicked his tail and sighed. "I'm sorry" he said "I just...had some friends here I thought would be happy to see me, but I was wrong."


Fireblaze shrugged. "Who knows. I mean no one knows about Cloudscar, why would we know what law Swiftstar broke?"

Silverspirit shrugged. "He's my brother Eclipsesky, family fights, it's what we do. More importantly, we make up as well."
