(Okies so Broken's been busy, but we're gonna keep going lol, cause reasons!) --cato phoenix broken mintedstar/fur 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 Ran saw the rod, he did it just like magic, amazing! She shook her head now, Now's not the time to get distracted! She reminded herself, taking the rod from the magician's hand with a stern look. "Thanks!" She replied. He indeed seemed to be magicial, something she and Shinichi would often get into fights about when it came to the Phantom Thief. But... kid didn't need to know that those arguments existed... The thought of making these things disapear didn't cross her mind though, that was the last thing on her mind. Her attention turned towards the laughing lunatic of a crazy figure across the room. He was making fun of them, oh how rude and nerve wrecking of him to so! Ran took in a deep breath, she was scared indeed but right now she needed to focus. She needed to fight and whether this would really work or not she wanted to return home. She wanted to see her firneds, family, and especially the boy she has recently come to call her boyfriend. She wasn't going to let any of that die here and now. So taking in that deep breath, she relaxed finding her inner zen. When exhaling she took the rod and began to spin it around in several directions, above her head and behind her back, before stopping the rod in a 45% angle from her side, as she stood in a backstance. "Don't underestimate us." She challenged back, of course she was scared. Her heart was racing, but one thing her mother and father always told her, is to keep the brave face in battle. Yet-how long could she keep it? Mint, Spark, & Broken Akira blinked, did he say too much? Was it sounding crazy? Perhaps it was... Seeing luffy ask if it was magic he nodded, "Yea like powers you get temporarlly, but again we wont know until we reach our destination." He looked up ahead to see the place they were heading too. It was in sight, not too far but clearly a lot of climbing-it was an old building. Tall one, or a skeleton of once was... "And it doesn't seem like we'll get there easily either." He frowned seeing the building, it seemed to have been through a lot. Would it support them? or topple over like a Jenga? Oh... hope not; that would be bad for them.

(You're good, no worries. Life can get crazy. ^^) (Sure!) "I wish I said I didn't," said Vanessa. She raised a blow gun, a dart appearing in her hand and fitting itself inside with one movement. But footsteps meant something could be hit. Without waiting to see if the footsteps belonged to a non-human, she aimed for where she heard them and sent the dart flying. Like the fire-ball from the small dragon-creature it froze in the air and then ... fell to the ground. Which didn't make sense. It didn't look like it had hit something invisible. It had just started moving slower, then stopped, and then it had fallen to the ground. "Not goo-" said Vanessa. And then all hell broke loose. The apparently empty street exploded, bits of road thundering away from the center of it and blasts of air hitting Vanessa in the face, kicking up dust. The dragon-creature screamed - it almost sounded human - and was sent flying from her shoulder, little wings still not enough to really support its weight. Something that Vanessa couldn't see blundered past and then knocked into Liz with a force hard enough to fracture bones. The blix spun, hand reached out for one of the two creatures under her protection even as she chastised herself about caring. But the same or similar force hit her, sending her skidding painfully backwards across asphalt. Her shoulder was bleeding. A finger had gotten caught somewhere and was bent out of shape. Everything hurt but Vanessa knew she had to get up. "That," she spat. "Wasn't an animal." Something had hit her, but it hadn't been some runaway, invisible beast. It had felt almost like metal. "Liz! Are you okay." Moving her arm sent splinters of pain up and down her spine, but she slowly got up again, looking around. Trying to find her blow gun, since it was the only weapon she had. And her carry-on bag was gone too, shaken off somewhere down the line. Liz shivered slightly at that reply and felt dread fill her stomach as she watched the dart. Liz was about to say something but as the explosions hit she let out a sharp gasped and staggered back, and drop her weapon to try amd block the incoming dust that assulted her but this was nothing compared to the thing that barrelled into her. When it hit her she let out a screech but it was short as the air was slammed out of her. Somewhere in her head she worried for her poor ribs as she was rammed into the ground by the force. Her head rang and she tried to get her head straight but she was finding it hard. After a minute she slowly sat up gasping in pain and lightly feeling her chest and winching, her ribs were not in the best shape but she thanked all that was above that none of them had pierced her lung. She also felt the back of her head and found a bit of blood from being slammed down and found that her whole body ached from the ordeal but she was still conscious -thank goodness- and nothing seemed too horribly out of place -she was sure there must be fractures of some sort but they were better then breaks. Hearing Vanessa she said slightly out of breath "No they weren't. Aliens maybe?" She suggested thinking back to the aliens that attacked New York. Thinking on it she asked "Are you ok?" And tried looking around and listening for another attack. She heard faint steps but she hoped and prayed that it was the creatures running off and not coming to finish the job. She slowly stood and noticed Vanessa's injury and gasped. "That needs to be treated! Wait we don't have the supplies for that. Crap crap crap." She babbled looking at it and thinking about her small knowledge of how to treat wounds and wondering if she'd know how to handle breaks but deciding to get to that path when they crossed it. "I'm not sure," said Vanessa, sounding pained. "What does an alien look like? I've never seen one." She'd seen a lot of things, but extraterrestrials were not one. She had gotten to her feet by now, but she didn't wait for whatever had attacked them to do it again. She made a rush for the bag, varying her steps so it was harder to tell where she was heading for. Each step caused her wrist to jerk and she gasped with pain each time. There was the sense of movement - a leaf here or there moving faster than the breeze should have allowed - and Vanessa avoided it at all cost. "No time to treat anything," she said through gritted teeth, sliding and grabbed the handle of her bag. Something had rolled away, maybe a lot of things, or had broken. The latter was worse, but she didn't think about what mixed potions would do. The bag felt lighter, that was all she knew. The nose - like footsteps - where still there and getting closer again. There was another whooph of air, but Vanessa rolled away before she could find out if it was aimed at her or not. Her hand, the injured one, hit the ground, and she gave a small scream. But it also hit something else. "Catch, Liz!" she said, using her healthy hand to grab at the small vial and toss it toward the girl. She didn't even know what it was. Or what it would do. But it might be helpful and she needed something to get the girl out of here.

His steps had increased in pace and he clearly wasn't going to see if the others were following. Kasha, hanging around the back of the group just because he could, looked amused. But that was a permanent expression, so maybe it meant nothing. "Easily or not," he said. "We will still get there." It wasn't inspirational. It wasn't even particularly hopeful. He just stated it like it was a fact. Hyuse didn't seem to confident. He was keeping his head down, horns sticking even further into the hair than previously.

It would have been a lot easier knowing what she should be expecting, even if her current adversary wasn't something she could see. There was too much movement and not enough knowledge about what was happening. She agreed with Liz whole-heartedly, of course, but her statement was easier said then done. The blix rolled again, once again crushing her wrist against the ground. But now, at least, she was close enough to her bag. "Drink it!" she shouted to Liz. There were too many possibilities for what the girl might be holding. Enlarging potion, shrinking potion, water-breathing, speed, stealth, invisibility, fire-resistance, or the one that turned someone insubstantial ... or emotion potions. Courage, fear, memory. The options were almost endless and worse, because the bag wasn't hers. Even if everything was calm she could only tell what half of these potions did. It was a lottery, but one they both had to play. Vanessa returned to her feet on the next roll, running in the only direction that she judged free. More movement and something grazed her shoulder, drawing blood and nearly pushing her over. Pity the direction that was free was away from Liz. She couldn't do much of personal use like this. She didn't have a weapon that was effective against invisible aliens, if that was really what all this was, and she couldn't posses someone when she was running for her life. That left the bag and a young fire-creature that had already abandoned the scene. Vanessa started rummaging through the carry-on. (Up to you if Liz drinks or what it does. Feel free to make something up as a reaction, if you wanted. I just used some book examples.)

She felt slight panic when nothing happened at first but then she found that her feet were off the ground. "Vanessa what's happening?!"She screeched as she flailed about, making her float higher. It probably would of been cool if she knew how to stop going higher and those things weren't racing below her. An idea then came to her head, maybe how powers could help her get to a building and away, but first she had to find a way to get Vanessa. Distraction maybe? Fumbling around in the air she grabbed her tattered shoe off her foot and threw it where she thought a creature might be and called "Come and get me!" And only found it to be a dumb idea after she already did it and was trying to get further away from Vanessa and already floating off, hopefully too high for the creatures to reach her and well aware when this wore off she was doomed.

And only found it to be a dumb idea after she already did it and was trying to get further away from Vanessa and already floating off, hopefully too high for the creatures to reach her and well aware when this wore off she was doomed. (Agreed, agreed!) Vanessa cursed several times. Like Liz, she reached into her bag, pulling out a random potion. This was all luck. She would never tell the girl, she knew, that there were at least two potions in here that were straight poison. She was taking the same risk as the girl that was floating above her. An couple hour. That was how long a complete container of the stuff would be. She didn't want that long. She just wanted enough to get out of here. Something came at her from behind. She heard it coming. She turned, her uninjured fist ready to meet whatever it was ... only for her fire creature to scramble up and along her wrist, burying itself in her sleeve. It was uncomfortable, its claws digging into her exposed flesh, but she ignored it for now. Nothing invisible was coming at her yet. Was Liz's shoe idea working? No time to ask questions. She uncorked the potion, bringing it to her lips, and taking a small drink from it. It was like drinking sunflower oil. Not the most pleasing, but not horrible. Nothing seemed to happen for a long second. And maybe that was the point. Vanessa looked around, slowly backing away. Something should have happened by now. If it was an emotion potion, she wouldn't even notice. It would just feel like her overreaction was logical. She uncurled her fingers from the potion, looking it over. The liquid looked lavender ... and she almost laughed. Not an invisibility potion. It was an ... almost an 'unimportant' potion. It was the closest English description that she had. You could see her, but she was so not-worthy-of-attention that everyone would just glaze over her. Her stomach was already tossing around in protest, however. It really was supposed to be rubbed onto an item, not ingested. "Come on," she muttered to the dragon-creature that was still in her sleeve. "I think we need to go chase a Liz before she gets hit by a flying realities of yours." She stumbled after Liz, breaking into a run. The potion would wear off or her body would get rid of it and whichever happened first, she needed to get out of there. Hopefully, what attacked them couldn't fly. She could still hear movement, a bit by Liz's missing shoe. But she didn't hang around. She grabbed her blowgun from the ground in one movement and then continued running down a side alley in the direction she'd seen Liz floating.

They just never want to give up even in a situation like this! It's what I look forward to each and every day," he said to Mikoto. "If they simply gave up it would be no fun!" He turned and waved to the group they were terrorizing with a wide grin on his face. Femt then gestured to the little creatures still growing by his feet and urged them forwards. "Go my babies, give them our best show!" The fleshy pink monsters went charging at the group, easily doubling in size over the short distance. They bared their jagged white fangs and let out guttural snarls before leaping for the attack. ~~~ Mint, broken, and Dia: "More powers? Really? Ohoo!" Luffy exclaimed with twinkling eyes. "Yosh! Guys, let's go!" He took off at a swift march, arms swinging back and forth as he began to hum happily to himself. Eventually the humming turned into words here and there in a makeshift tune about what kinds of power they could be looking forward. Calli watched him as she followed behind, still sticking closer to Hyuse, and couldn't help but giggle at him. She picked up her snail and after a word or two from Calli it became a ukelele, which she started playing along with Luffy's singing. "Traveling music!" she cheered.

She wanted to flinch but again focus. ASt least they weren't zombies, then she'd be running. Tkaing in a deep breath she ran for the creatures, using the rod to sweep them away or at least turn them to find weak points. Maybe she wouldn't be able to take them down, but she could sweep them around to help others strike. Hime, Broken, Mint Seeing the mixed reactions, Akira couldn't help but shrug. Walls were town, windows shattered, and some floors could be seen with collapsed beams from the second and third floor. There were varying stages of how each one of them showed it, however. Hyuse just frowned, but he'd been doing that for a while and it was doubtful anyone noticed. Monarch went so far as to place both hands over his ears and seemed to walk dutifully onward without comment, though every muscle in his body seemed tense. Kasha seemed the only one who was actually going to say anything. And all it was happened to be him saying, "Oh dear," with a grin and the shake of his head. When they reached the building it was finally time for the latter to actually do something. He looked upwards, before levitating ever so slightly and looking around some more. "Hum," he said. Then he returned to the ground. He did not offer to fly anyone up there with him. He didn't even say anything to the group at all. Everyone had their work cut out for them if they thought Kasha was going to play along and be a good person. Hyuse scowled. "It would be far easier to do this if I could think." Despite the fact that Callie seemed to be the only one he cared about right now, he didn't like the music very much. Callie playing might have been fine, but Luffy singing ...? Akira might like the spirit, but he could have done without. "Any ideas?" asked Monarch, looking upward.

Auransky --cato phoenix broken Kuragehime Kid was used to dodging his problems. Escaping, getting to higher ground, working by trickery. These attacks were too blunt, however. He ran parallel to the small collection of people. Femt was too direct ... the shadows were not. Mikoto had sent them spiraling out as dog shapes again, clinging to buildings and under rocks. What harm could shadows do? Kid didn't want to find out. The main problem was that he couldn't harm them either. But at his movement, heads turned and a good number went scuttling after him, keeping close to the ground, but fast. He kept away from shadowy areas, running in as much light as possible. Test weak points as well, throwing rocks at them. Which went right through. Was that good? Was it safe to touch them then? Kid didn't know. He looked over at Ran.

(Hey guys! Sorry i took so long to get a reply up >.<)
Rin had been quiet for quite some time as she stood at the back of the group, watching them with a straight face. Her eyes scaled up and down the building once before taking a step forward as she finally spoke up. “Eh, if I may say something. To get up to the top, you all have to work together or it’ll topple over. It’s really that simple,” she sort of glanced up at Kasha as she said is. “So no straying away from the group.”
— Mikaela sort of stood there, examining the shadows as they tried to attack the group. He was pretty certain that his sword wouldn’t do any good against them. And whatever Kid was trying wasn’t helping. He just eyes the group as he took a few steps back. The vampire was just thinking about leaving them to try to figure this out as he got away safely. But then slowed to a stop. He couldn’t do that, they’re all trapped here for the same goal. And if he met up with any of them later, they wouldn’t want to help. Mika looked at Femt with a frown. “Hey! I don’t know what we did to offend you, but we’re sorry.”

--cato phoenix Kuragehime broken mintedstar/furThe tower was just screaming doom, and its tall demeanor wasn't helping. Akira crossed his arms, pondering at the situation. The other's were talking about a lot of things, it seemed one thing in common was how to approach the building. Well then... indeed their work was cut out for them. They could try jumping, but that was too tall for one jump alone. On the other hand, they could all go into the tower, but how much weight could each side of the building take before topping over? Furthermore, patients? Who didn't have it? That would kill them quickly. He looked over towrds the other, then at Monarch, "We can play human weights, but how long before someone snaps? 1st floor, 2nd floor, hmm?" He looked over to Rin who indicated his worst fears. Normally teamwork wasn't an issue, but he didn't know everyone and their wasn't a lot of time to decide who would be a direct team player. "We could also blow the building up, let it fall and hope it doesn't crush us as a result." -- Ran was too busy trying to keep whatever these things were, away. She was not used to fighting anything like this. Creeps sure, but these things? Nothing of the sort. They didn''t seem to respond, even when being hit in what she knew as weak spots. Furthermore, they seemed to be growing in numbers. How much long until they would weaken, in their own efforts. She glimpsed over at Kid who was looking at her. She didn't have an answer, butn there was one forming, more out of emotion then reason. "W-We need to get out of here!" She called out to the thief. And yet the vampire, Mikaela, stepped forward to apologize. It was out of character but maybe that would help for the time being? Surely the other person would be apologetic, or at least forgiving?

(Well this is exciting :> )) Liz did as she was told and drained the potion, ignoring the foul taste and only thought to ask what it did after she had swallowed it. (Hey. Sorry again for disappearing for such a long time. December was just so jammed packed.)) Liz floated over to a building and grabbed onto it aware of the movement below her. After a moment of trying to get higher on the building and hoped that these things couldn't climb or run up. Once she was high enough and looked back down and saw dust moving as if they were bellow her waiting. A nervous energy filled her stomach at the sight and gripped the building a bit tighter. Moving a bit more she made it to a ledge of building and moved so she'd be safe if she fell. "Ok this is fine. This is fine. My chest hurts like crap and if I go down there those things could kill me. It's all good. I can get out of this." She muttered to herself. Glancing around she tried to see if there was an escape route and the best bet was a window. "You know what this plan was bad idea but it's cool. Hopefully Vanessa is ok." Looking down again Liz looked around for Vanessa but couldn't see her.

So, instead, she eyed the building she was perched on. This was going to be ... tricky. The blix also needed to hurry. She somehow made it to the entrance to the building without hitting into any of the invisible creatures. Then she realized something which was both good and bad. The good thing was, unless the invisible creatures could climb very well, they weren't going to get to Liz. Any way up she found was collapses. The upper floors were also sagging or caving in themselves. The bad thing was this meant she wasn't getting up. She cursed herself for coming in to begin with. For following Liz at all. She should have just left the girl. She hadn't been thinking. And the potion was starting to wear off. She could tell, just by guesswork. Vanessa bolted out of the building, through a crumbled down wall. Then it was into the next building, as quickly as possible, where she pressed her back into a wall. Her whole body ached. Her wrist was on fire. For now, she could try and get a little higher in this building - and hope the watchers outside gave up. The dragon-creature scrambled up her arm again, curling around her neck like it was a scarf. (If you want, you can have Liz spot Vanessa on a roof if you like. Or whatever you want, really. ^^ )

Auransky --cato phoenix Kuragehime broken Kasha humphed just a little at the girl's assumption on what he would do. Still, he looked upward with just as much distaste as he might eye a high mountain he knew he'd be required to climb. He didn't like this. The only problem was he didn't think he was getting out of it. He personally liked Akira's idea of blowing the thing up far more than teamwork. He pointed at him, saying, "Yes. That. Please." He seemed pretty haughty, all things considered. But this didn't stop him from noticing Hyuse's frown. Maybe the alien wanted to play as a team. Or maybe his face just stuck that way. Either ways, it seemed like a far more logical plan to destroy a building than trusting complete strangers to watch his back. "I," said Monarch, surprising the yokai. "Think it would be more productive to work together." -- Mikoto seemed to find the whole thing amusing. Nearly so over Mikaela's apparent attempt to apologize. To make excuses. As if it possibly mattered what any of them said. He chuckled. "Keep talking!" he encouraged. "I would love to be entertained." The thief was running, the woman fighting. It was amazingly foolish. He could hear the thief circle around, ducking around a building. He said loudly, "I agree with Ran!" But it was just as foolish any way they looked at it. Mikoto had no intention of letting them go.

mintedstar/fur broken KuragehimeAkira tok another look at the building, there was so much wrong with blowing this place up. They would most likely loose the items and it would have been a waste of time and resources. He wanted to just share his opinion on the casulties but it seemed like Monarch thought it through. He couldn't help but quickly turn his head towards Monarch, when he mentioned working together. After a moment of silence he nodded, "I agree as well." He looked around to meet the mixed emotions. "We will need to really take it one step at a time though, one wrong move and we're all in trouble." ---- Ran slid to the side, building more distance between the strange attackers. The vampire was trying to apologize, but it seemed like a bad idea. It also seemed like it was a bad idea to just stand there and wait for a response. For the time being, they would need to start creating the opening for everyone to get out if need be. Nonetheless, they shouldn't take anything to lightly.

She'd try and float over but was afraid the potion would wear off half the way there. Though anything was better then those creatures getting to her. Going to the edge of the building Liz prepared to use her powers to switch her gravity to the other building and moved herself off the building hoping this wasnt going to end to badly.

Still, they needed a way further away. She scratched at the chin of the dragon creature and then held up her hand. She remembered lady bugs and other flying creatures. Often they would scramble along a branch until they got to the end and then launch into the distance. This creature did just that as her hand extended, pointing at Liz. The winged creature bridged the gap between the buildings with several flaps of its wings, stretching them wide. They learned to fly fast, apparently. It landed on the wall next to Liz, claws digging into the wall as it scrambled for a purchase hold. Then it hopped to her shoulder, nibbling a bit at her clothing, and flapping its wings before looking at her, cocking its head. Then it looked off in the direction of Vanessa, almost encouraging.

The small winged creature clambered up Vanessa's leg and continued upwards until it could curl itself like an overly pointy scarf around her neck. The blix grabbed Liz's hand, just in case she decided to float away like a balloon again. "Come on," she said. "Let's get out of here." (Hum. Would you like to time-skip to the night/next day?)
