Okay but is Bucky talking in his sleep or making noises, I don't know how Steve could hear him unless he wanted to watch him while he was sleeping. xD

Steve was still on the couch watching the news, but at the same time had his phone open to check for any new texts he might have received. He heard rustling and noises in the back room. Curious as to what was going on, he got up and walked over to the bedroom where Bucky was staying in. Steve turned the handle and peeked in. Some of the light from the main room filtered into there, casting a beam on the bed. He could see his friend looked distressed, and had messed up the blankets squirming around. He was probably having nightmares. Steve walked over to the nightstand, turning on the lamp. "Bucky," he said with concern in his voice, loud enough to wake him up, but hopefully not startle him completely. "Bucky, wake up."

Bucky continued to twist a turn, a bit more violently as Steve's voice pierced his dreams. Steve Rogers. Captain America. Target. Best friend since birth... "No," he gasped, eyes squeezing together even more tightly as he kicked and pushed at the heap of blankets now tangled around both of his feet.

He knew it was a dangerous move, but placed his hands on Bucky's shoulders to get him to stop. Holding him down so that he could squirm less. "You're alright. We're in the tower. No one is going to hurt you."

It was then that Bucky jerked awake, both flesh and metal hands coming up to grip Steve's forearms in an iron hold. For a moment, he was confused, looking up at Rogers and not remembering what had happened in the oast twelve hours. His eyes shown with fear, and his faint struggling didn't stop for another moment, or at least until some realization filled his face. "Steve," he said simply, breathing hard, eyes darting away from him and around the room.

"Yes, I'm Steve." Steve confirmed gently. He could see the fear that echoed in Bucky's eyes. What had it been like to work for HYDRA all those years? He didn't know if he really wanted to find out. "Maybe you should stay awake awhile longer before you try to sleep again."

"Yeah," Bucky agreed, voice hollow as he let go of Steve's arms, gently sitting up and running a hand through his hair with another small nod, "yeah."

Steve stood up again now that Bucky had regained full awareness of his surroundings. "Do you need anything?"

"I think I might get a glass of water," Bucky said simply, shaking his head as he got to his feet, stumbling ever so slightly before shaking his head again and sighing.

"Okay." Steve said. Poor, poor Bucky. How was he supposed to rest if he was constantly haunted by the nightmares of his past? Steve followed him out of the room, turning off the light that was in there and shutting the door.
Sorry, that response was super lame.]

Bucky flinched a tiny bit as the door slammed, but didn't say anything. He just walked into the little kitchenette, opening cabinets until he found the glasses, and filled one up at the sink, sipping quietly at his water. "How have you been," he said flatly, staring at the counter in front of him.

Steve leaned against one of the counters, crossing his arms. "Well I've been...." he paused. "Been looking for you. You sort of just helped me, and then you left. I was worried. I told Sam I had to find you." He stared over at the wall, then back to Bucky again. "I didn't want HYDRA to catch you again."

"Well, I wasn't gonna let you drown," Bucky mumbled gruffly, though he wasn't sure why, still. Well, he knew why, but what triggered it? He had no idea. "And if it's any consolation, I didn't want to be found. You weren't just going a crap job or anything."

And now.... for another really bad reply by Darkshine. Whoopee. I'm so beat right now.]
"I know that, but I needed to find you." Steve argued. "We're going to help you. Get rid of those memories, shake off HYDRA, all that." He clenched his fists in frustration. It was hard to argue with someone who you didn't want to argue with, but it wasn't Bucky's fault he was like this. Did he know that. "You're not alone, and soon you'll be glad I took you back here."

"No," Bucky snapped, "you can do anything, Rogers, but you aren't getting rid of my memories. I spent the last seventy years having people play with my brain, andif you think that I'm gonna let anyone mess with any of my damn memories again, then you're wrong." He set his glass down, teeth clenched, fists balling and then relaxing sporadically.

Steve sighed, shaking his head. He didn't want to argue, not anymore. Maybe once Bucky had calmed down, he could explain later. Right now it was too soon, he just needed time to recover. I'll just give him time. "Fine. Just... try to understand that what we're doing is trying to help you, alright? No one is going to take away your memories if you don't want them to."

Bucky took a couple of deep breaths. "Fine," he finally said, "but no one is taking anything from me, Steve. Not ever again." He took another breath, filling out his water again and taking a long drink. "Do you know what its like?" he finally said, "to wake up, and look around, and have no idea who you are? To have no idea what year it is? How much time has passed since you were last awake?" He paused. "It's terrifying, Steve."

"I do know..." Steve said. "When I came out of the ice a few years ago, everything was different." He remembered waking up in that white room with the radio and the fake scenery. "They tried to make me believe I was still in the 1940s. It was hard to accept what year it really was at first. But I guess after a while, I just got used to the fact."

"That's not the same thing," Bucky almost yelled, but managed to control himself. At least they'd let him stay as... stay as himself. Bucky wasn't even Bucky anymore. He wasn't that man. He was someone else who had been molded by HYDRA.

How is it different?Steve asked himself. He wasn't thinking about what Bucky had really meant, about being transformed into someone he didn't want to be. "If you're referring to HYDRA, they're not going to take you again. I won't let that happen to you." Steve knew he was scared. And yes, it was frustrating to try to convince him everything was alright like a scared animal, especially with how stubborn he was being. He hoped that in time, Bucky would come to terms with him.
