Bucky walked calmly, occasionally glancing over his shoulder to make sure that Loki was still following him. People glanced at them, but no one said anything. Eventually, Bucky made his way to a large apartment building, clearly empty, and he easily forced his way inside the door with his shoulder, gesturing for Loki to follow with a genial, "Come on."

Oh wow, I would have replied a lot sooner, I didn't realize we were already on the second page.]
He pushed his way in after him. There were bare planks of woods leaning up against the entrance. Loki had to duck his head in through. Being an abandoned building, small puffs of dust hung in the air, so he held his fist up to his mouth and coughed. Loki squinted his eyes and looked around for a light. After a moment, he thought it was stupid because there would not be any electricity here, he assumed. Loki waited for further instruction from the strange man.

[[ it's chill! ]]
"'Kay," Bucky said, gesturing with his flesh shoulder, "come on." He began up a dark flight of stairs. Of course, the apartments didn't look "lived in," but they did look like it, in a sense. There were remnants of food wrappers, old clothing, blankets... no one seemed to be around except for them, being that it was the middle of the day, so Bucky called over his shoulder, "So, you're a prince where you come from? Thor's brother?"

Loki snorted, slightly annoyed that he had been mistaken as Thor's brother once again. "I once believed so." he began. "Until I found out I came from somewhere else." Loki shrugged, and sighed. A wave of tiredness had hit him and he was too tired to argue anymore at that point. "But I guess you can say we grew up together our whole lives thinking that. So in a way, yes."

"You don't have to be related to someone to be their brother," Bucky mumbled under his breath as he pushed through a halfway unhinged door, walking out onto a large upper floor with broken out windows and an assortment of blankets and other belongings of many different people. "Well, your majesty, welcome to my humble abode," he said sarcastically, turning on his heels and pulling his light jacket off as it was kinda stuffy, revealing his metal arm, "nice, right?"

Even though Loki doesn't know who Bucky is, I'm still going to call him by that name because I just feel off by calling him "the other guy" all the time. XD]
"Very much." he added, catching Bucky's sarcasm. He crossed his arms over his chest, nodding his head approvingly. He was coming to the realization that it was all that was available to him right now.

[[ okay xD ]]
"Yeah, I..." Bucky suddenly trailed off, pausing and listening. "You hear that?" he asked, glancing around the room, and then up to the ceiling. The engines of a jet were faint in the distance, but still strangely audible for the altitude it shoul've been flying at. There was never much aircraft traffic on this side of town, so Bucky hesitantly made his way to the window, ducking his shaggy head out and looking up. It took a moment, but soon a lithe black plane came into sight. He swore, and then called over his shoulder, "I think your little landing attracted S.H.I.E.L.D."

"S.H.I.E.L.D.?" Loki's heart began to race, and his palms grew sweaty. They would want to catch him, that was for sure. They always foiled everyone's plans! "I can't stay here, it's too dangerous. Unless you know of a good place to hide in this little home of yours?" His voice was almost pleading. Loki knew he could always teleport, but right now he was already sore from the skirmish in Asgard, and he didn't want to have to travel anywhere far right now.

"Well, not in here, but there are ways out to other places to hide," Bucky said, having already planned all this out, but just for himself. "Come on," he prompted as he marched across the room, grabbing Loki's lower arm as he headed towards yet another door, next to the one they had come up through, as the sound of the jet landing on a nearby roof could be heard.

My power has been out all day so I just started school. But at least I can still reply to you now.] Loki walked faster while Bucky grabbed his arm and pulled him through the remains of the abandoned building. He wondered where they could be heading now. S.H.I.E.L.D. would scan every inch of this place, didn't he know that? They would have to go far away if they ever wanted to get out of reach.

[[ Ew, not fun. ]]
Bucky led him through the door, and down yet another set of stairs. This one went deeper though, and soon they were down in what appeared to be an earthen floored basement. Bucky let go of Loki, whistling nervously to himself as he made his way to one of the dirty windows, reaching up and breaking the lock clean off, pushing it outwards with a snap. One of the other ones across the room was broken, and he gestured to it with his head as he said, "if I can fit out one of these, you can too. Come on." He lodged his toe into one of the cracks in the wall, and pushed up, beginning to force himself through the window with a soft grunt. Soon enough, he was out, looking around and seeing no one before waiting for Loki. "Can you change what you look like?" he whispered into the hole he had left. These guys had magic, right?

"Yes, I can." he replied. Before trying to make his wait out of the window after Bucky, Loki closed his eyes shut. He muttered a few words quietly to himself. They were in a language only a god could decipher. " Gi meg en forkledning ingen kan avsløre." he whispered, the words easily rolling off his tongue. One second he was Loki, and the next, a different man. He was still quite tall and skinny, but he had different clothes that would match the people of Earth. His long black freaking beautiful hair was gone, replaced with short brown hair, and striking blue eyes. It took him a second to figure out how to climb out of the window, but he finally did it. He was out of breath, hands on his knees. The trickster god wasn't used to having to climb out of windows. He had always been able to stride around at ease, whether under disguise or not. Kudos, English to Norwegian translator! ]

Bucky waited, crouched, glancing up and down the alley until Loki, in his disguise, crawled his way out of the window. "How are you out of breath?" he mumbled as he got to his feet, still bent in a stance like he was ready to tackle someone. He looked left, and then right, and then said with a nod to the left, "This way." He began to walk, had-been heavy footsteps now nearly silent on the gravel and trash encrusted alleyway. He didn't hear the plane anymore, but he didn't hear any people either. "Hey," he breathed over his shoulder after a moment, "no killing anyone."

Loki decided not to answer his first question, just followed behind through the alleyway. Although his disguise was on, he still clung to the shadows like a spider to its web. "I wasn't planning to." Loki whispered clearly. "Unless things get really out of control." He took his hands and pushed up the sleeves of his shirt to his elbows as they were starting to annoy him. He wanted badly to go back to being Loki, but now wasn't the right time. Nor was it to ask and prod further about who this man was, he seemed to know more than he was telling. About Loki, about S.H.I.E.L.D., about a lot of things.

"Uh huh," Bucky mumbled simply, creeping to the end of the alleyway. He took a breath, steadying himself mentally. He couldn't kill anyone either. He had to be Bucky Barnes. Not the Asset, not James, Bucky. W.W.R.D. What would Rogers do? He wouldn't kill anyone. Bucky had a feeling he'd used that motto more often at one time. After a second, he slipped out, and into the street. Immediately, someone barked from down the way, "Bucky Barnes, freeze!" And Bucky jumped back into the alleyway as what looked like some kind of tranquilizer whizzed by, pinging off the wall.

Loki could feel the swift breeze of the tranquilizer fly by, and he instinctively flattened himself against the wall. With all the adrenaline rushing through him, he didn't feel tired anymore, and instantly thought about possibly teleporting himself somewhere else, out of this alley. It would be too risky to stay. But he was already in disguise, so maybe they wouldn't be suspicious of him. He could see they were after James--no, this Bucky Barnes guy now. Not Loki.

Bucky blew air out of his nose. He reached to his right, picking up a trashcan lid (he always went for the shield) and ducked back out of the alley, holding it up in front of his upper body as more darts flew. During a pause, he hefted it back, and flung it. It wasn't in Loki's line of vision, but Bucky bounced it off one of the agent's shoulders, knocking them clean on their ass before taking off in a sprint towards them, head down like a bull charging. He hoped that the Asgardian would back him up.

There were more agents pouring into the alley. Not a lot, but enough to overtake the both of them. Even if he didn't get in trouble, they'd still take him in ask ask annoying questions, and why he was affiliating himself with Bucky-- who was apparently a wanted man himself. Loki took his hands and waved them together close to his chest. Jolts of energy shot out from his palms, and zapped some of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and their weapons.

As Loki was zapping people, Bucky was picking someone up and javelin-tossing them through the air, running back into the alley as they skidded, and jump tackling one of the people that had come in from the other side. He gave them a little love tap in the jaw (probably more than a love tap since it seemed he had knocked the guy out cold), but still. He rolled off of him as he felt another dart whiz by, clambering to his feet and throwing a punch at someone else.
[[ Yo Steve boy should show up. ]]

Steve Rogers himself happened to be visiting Massachusetts on the very day Loki and Bucky were battling S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. He wasn't here for any special mission, but more of just to enjoy some time on his own and think. He was out on the sidewalk with jeans, tennis shoes, a white t-shirt, and a rather expensive-looking leather jacket. To top it all off, he wore sunglasses even though the sunlight was beginning to fade as the evening hours began to sneak in. He heard clanking up ahead, which got him curious. Steve quickened his pace to a jog to see what was the matter. He peered into the alleyway, instantly recognizing the all-too-familiar uniforms of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents while they shot at two men who he could not make out, with tranquilizer guns.

Bucky kicked, a woman this time, into a dumpster. He hoped he hadn't killed her as she left a dent. He had lacked autonomy for so long that he'd actually forgotten that he had the option to play down his strength just a bit, and for a moment he almost felt compelled to check on her, but then another dart whizzed by his ear, and he snatched yet another trashcan lid, hurling it like a frisbee and letting it smack into one of the chests of one of the remaining agents. He turned around the other way, going for another lid, and that was hen he saw who was at the mouth of the alleyway. He'd recognize that silhouette anywhere, staring as his arm glinted in the half-light.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, the two guys fighting, it all flew around his mind. He didn't have his suit or his shield at that moment. At first he hadn't recognized them. Then he saw the iconic metal arm with the red star. Bucky! There he was, the man he'd told Sam Wilson he was going to go looking for. He looked disheveled, but that didn't stop him from putting up a good fight. He wanted this to be over, and not have to get involved in anything. He also wanted to avoid having Bucky being captured. "Hey!" Steve called out, trying to get the attention of the agents. "What's going on here?"

The agents stopped, all the ones who weren't lying unconscious or trying to get up, holding their ribs or faces, staring at the blonde. "Captain Rogers?" one asked, gun still trained on the one he didn't recognize (Loki), with the agent beside him training their gun on Bucky's back, whose hand had moved away from the lid of the trashcan during the whole ordeal. "S.H.I.E.L.D., well, what's left of it, picked up on some weird energy signals and came out here to find Bucky Barnes trying to flee the scene."

Steve tilted his head barely to the side with his eyebrows raised in disbelief. "You truly believe Bucky could be the one to produce strange energy signals?" he started. "He's as human as you and I. Now leave him to me." What he said was partly true-- he and Bucky had both been from the same era, and had been injected with some sort of superhuman-serum at some point in their lives. He shoved his hands in his pockets and walked forward calmly. The agents just watched him, they could have easily fired. "Bucky," he said. "Drop the lid. We need to go." His gaze flickered around to watch if anyone tried to oppose him.

Bucky watched him warily as he approached, stepping back ever so lightly when Steve got in a couple feet of him. His eyes darted around, landing on the remaining agents, and then the disguised Loki, before he looked back to Steve. His metal fingers tightened around the lid for a moment like he was planning to throw it, but then they released it, sending it clanging to the ground as he glanced over his shoulder once more and gestured to Loki, "Come on." His voice was almost pleading; he couldn't let the god alone out here. One, because he might kill people. Two, because Bucky was pretty sure he'd bite the dust on his own.

Steve nodded approvingly as Bucky edged closer. He felt more confident that S.H.I.E.L.D. might let him finish taking care of this unfinished business himself. Loki raised his hands in submission, walking slowly after Bucky towards Steve. Even though he was a god, it didn't prevent him from feeling vulnerable in his disguise. Not that it was much help anyways if the agents had seen him zapping people. Steve spoke out again, this time to S.H.I.E.L.D. "There will be no more interference necessary." He hoped that his reassuring disposition would get them to leave so that he could speak to his old friend, and find out who his companion was.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents looked in between each other, before one simply said, "Fury will be hearing about this." They then helped up their injured, turned, and headed out of the opposite end of the alley, leaving Steve, Bucky, and Loki alone. The metal armed man hadn't moved any closer to Steve, fists clenching and unclenching as his chest heaved, partially because of the physical activity, and partially because of the fact that Steve Rogers was right there. He would've been lying if he said that a part of his brain hadn't been screaming to kill him.

"Buck." He repeated his name again. "It's me, Steve." He was unsure about what his old comrade was thinking right now. One moment, he would try to kill him, the next he was pulling him out of the water to live. They needed to sort things out and make it right again. Steve wanted to figure out more with what was messing with Bucky's mind. Loki watched the two men with solid interest. So the Captain knew this guy, great. If Bucky told him who Loki was, he'd be in for some trouble.
