Larkpaw ducked out of the way easily, she bounced, giddy because of the training. "Come on Moonpaw! You can do it for real as long as you keep your claws sheathed. You won't hurt me." she promised.
Sandfall nodded, turning to Moonpaw. "Quicker paws Moonpaw. Try and swipe them quickly towards Larkpaw. You had the right idea in trying to knock her over though."

Moonpaw nodded eagerly and quickly tried to nock larkpaw over and moved to the side to unbalance her from her back paws by nocking her paws against larkpaws back legs

Larkpaw yelped as Moonpaw landed a hit, she stumbled away from the other apprentice to try and catch her balance. "Good hit!" she mewed cheerily.
Sandfall turned to face Larkpaw this time. "That was smart of Moonpaw to go for your back legs, you weren't expecting it. Remember in battle everything is not always fair. You have to be ready for attacks from every side."

Sandfall thought for a moment. "How about I show you the leap and hold? It's a great move for apprentices." he mewed thoughtfully. "So Moonpaw, you're going to try first. I want you to run and try and jump on my back. On a warrior in a fight, you would dig your claws into their skin and you could bite into their ears or their scruff. You must be careful though, the larger cat has the opportunity to roll over and crush you."

(I’m here :3 )
Grasslight flicked her tail, still thoughtful of her conversation with her mate. She prayed to Starclan that Harewhisker would see some sense soon, and realize that Dashclaw was worth putting care into. Needless to say, she needed to focus on her mentoring. It had been a while since Hopedawn’s ceremony, so mentoring again was both exciting and difficult. She was ready for the challenge though!
“Dawnpaw?” She called out for her apprentice.

Sandfall allowed her to land on his back, letting out a small "oof" as the weight was put on his bad leg. "Hold on." he murmured before starting to shake his pelt furiously trying to knock her off.

We’re going to see if we can find any kind of prey out there. With the fire, we’re going to have to put everything we have into it to bring something back, got it?”

Sandfall nodded "For not having your claws locked in, I'd say you did pretty well yes, good job trying to throw me off before you jumped." he praised. Turning to Larkpaw he gave her a small smile, "Your turn!"
Larkpaw leapt at her uncle, letting out a battle cry as she did so. She sunk her claws into his fur, careful not to reach his skin.
Sandfall shook his fur again, but since Larkpaw had watched Moonpaw do so, she was ready and clung on. Sandfall stopped shaking and instead started rolling, getting ready to crush the little she-cat
Larkpaw leapt off with a shriek "Oh that was scary!"

Maybe we can survey for some prey up there." Grasslight offered, waving her tail as she made her way towards the camp entrance. Her eyes glittered with delight as she exclaimed. "Let's see how fast you're getting. We're going to run there, are you ready?"

Larkpaw dipped her head to Moonpaw "Thanks! Anything else you can show up Sandfall."
Sandfall hummed in thought, "I could show you the belly slash perhaps, although Moonpaw since you're a little bigger than the average apprentice, you may struggle with this one. If a warrior is coming at you, you can duck in between their legs and slash at their belly. This also gets you to be behind them so they can't immediately attack you again."

"Be sure to always watch for stones and thorns! You can be fast and careful, all in one!"

Sandfall nodded "Sure, Larkpaw can go first." Moving back into the middle of the clearing, the tom faced his niece, bending down into a figher's stance.
Larkpaw attempted to match Sandfall's posture, but was a little wobbly.
Sandfall suddenly rushed forward towards the little apprentice.
Larkpaw let out a squeak of alarm before she remember what she was supposed to be doing. She rushed forward, ducking under his legs, but she was going to fast and missed the strike on his belly.
Sandfall turned to Moonpaw "We'll let Larkpaw try again, but would you like to give it a shot first?"

Swiftstar stood quietly in his nest, and stretched, not wanting to disturb Fallowmeadow. He made his way out of the leader’s den and sat just outside. He should tell the clan about ShadowClan’s invasion is Fourtrees....but part of him hesitated. How could he tell his clan that after everything they had been through, all four clans just let Cedarstar take Fourtrees. Would they see him as weak? Or would they take it as compassion? Swiftstar flicked his tail for a moment, before abandoning that train of thought altogether and deciding to visit the nursery. There were new members of his clan to meet. Padding towards the nursery, he pushed his way in.
Frostpetal looked up at Swiftstar entered the nursery, and smiled warmly. “Good morning Swiftstar, is there something I can help you with?”
Swiftstar shook his head. “No, just coming to check in on you and Soulspirit, and to meet my new clanmates.” He turned to Soulspirit as he mentioned her as well.

Soulspirit looked up at Swiftstar as he pushed into the den and gave a purr as she looked back down at her kits, who were suckling at her belly, “Eclipsesky said they’re all healthy.” She mewed, licking Morningkit’s head and nudging her kit closer to her.

“It’s still early, but within 3 moons.” Meadowbrook guessed, her eyes flashing once more as he seemed to concede a bit. She had guessed it would not be easy to persuade him, though she was glad that he seemed to be interested. If anything, their kits would need him during late leafbare, when they would be born. She gave a look of realization though, and released a small sigh. She would need patience, and she had always been patient, and for him, she would out-wait the world. “You don’t have to leave now. I can fend for myself for a few moons, if you truly must go back. The tunnelers will need you for a while longer, I suppose. Then, we can be together with our kits.” She stepped closer, pressing her muzzle to his lightly as she murmured. “I needed you to know.” Brownleaf’s body tensed, then relaxed as their muzzles touched. He had missed her touch. “Fine,” he murmured. “I’ll join you... but I do want to stay in WindClan until the time they are born.” He pulled away, meeting her eyes. “We can meet here again in 2 moons, at the half-moon, if you’re alright with that.” “That is a compromise I can honor.” Meadowbrook rumbled, a purr filling her throat as she stepped away from her mate. Her tail flicked as she mewed. “Be sure to hide my scent, if you can. I already rolled in as much ash as I could find to hide it, but you should do the same, or find some mud. I can’t bear the thought of you being interrogated by Swiftstar. Not when you need to train your dear apprentice, right?” She tilted her head knowingly.
