Kits?!Brownleaf simply stared at Meadowbrook, eyes wide with shock. It took him more then a few moments to process what she had said. They were going to have be parents... She wanted him to leave WindClan for her, for their kits. The invitation was alluring, he had to admit. Ever since she left, clan life felt monotone, dull. He could almost see it, a peaceful future of them, raising a family away from the pressures and strained state of WindClan. But being a clan cat was all he had ever known, he doubted he’d ever be able to leave it behind. Still... “Meadowbrook, I-... I don’t know.” He finally spoke, meeting his mate’s gaze. His resolve nearly broke at the longing gaze in her eyes. He had to remember she wasn’t who he thought she was, she was a cruel, cold-hearted cat. As he let, or rather, forced, those thoughts into his mind, his chest started tightening with frustration towards her. “For StarClan’s sake, Meadowbrook! Why did you have to do this? Why did you have go join the Dark Forest and betray our clan?” He snapped, tearing his gaze away from hers. “I know us tunnelers are being treated unfairly, but murdering moor-runners did nothing to help us. We could have found a better way together, and you never would of had to leave. We could have still been together. Our... our kits could have been raised in a clan.” He trailed off, the sudden burst of fury flickering out into something akin to despondency. “It’s not fair for those poor kits...” He murmured quietly. They didn’t deserve to be born into such a messed up situation like this, to be born to a murderer. They deserved a good life, untainted by their parent’s crimes. Even if he joined Meadowbrook, would they be able to give them that life? Meadowbrook listened to her mate’s shout with a look of cold contemplation, though her tail lashed once in response. “Why would I ever force my kits to live in a place where they could be treated differently for how they wished to serve? For moons, it has been that way, and no amount of peace or kindness has changed anything. What I did? I did for the slightest hope that someone just as qualified, someone like you, could lead this clan one day and we could finally be recognized for everything we did for cats like them...I see now that even then, it was worthless. But you!” Meadowbrook stepped closer to him, her eyes gleaming with love. “You are still the tom I fell in love with. You still deserve so much more than whatever mess Windclan wants to offer you. Our kits will be stronger than any clan cat. Perhaps even one day, they will be the ones to bring change to Windclan.” She offered. Brownleaf listened bitterly to Meadowbrook, remembering all those times she would talk with him about how wonderful it would be for him to be made deputy. Ever since her last speech to the clan before her banishment, he couldn’t help but feel slightly guilty about the deaths as well. Maybe if he hadn’t been so accepting of the idea, she wouldn’t of felt the need to kill to make it possible... His pelt prickled with concern at her last sentence. “You can’t mold these kits into tools for your revenge on WindClan, Meadowbrook.” He said in a quiet but steady voice. He didn’t want the same fate to befall them as befell their mother. “If they’re not going to be raised as WindClan, then they don’t need to be taught that they need to fix their problems.”

Any kit of mine will know of the clan I once knew, of the benefits and of the blaring flaws. It will be up to them to decide if they wish to stay or leave to see it made better...” Her eyes grew glazed at that, a strange sort of inquiry filling them. “Do you think that I never loved you, Brownleaf? Is that it? That I never loved my fellow tunnelers? It is because I loved you and them, that I wanted the best for you, and them. Do you honestly think Swiftstar or any of the clan are going to change anything for you? You could be out here, free of judgement, free of expectations of moor-runners who won’t thank you for anything. You would choose them, over me, and your kits?” She asked.

Soulspirit nuzzled her mate with a purr, “Look at them.” She rasped, nudging her kits closer to her, “They’re beautiful. They’re our kits.”

He looked down at their kits, purring deeply. “Starclan, four of them. Think we can manage that?” He teased gently.

There was no use continuing this argument, he knew she was right that the moor-runners would still look down on them... And he knew he couldn’t choose his clan over his own kits. “When are they due?” He asked. If he had to leave WindClan, he at least wanted to spend as much time as he could there before the kits were born. He only wished it was enough time for him to finish training his apprentice, he wanted to see Silverpaw receive his warrior name.

She had guessed it would not be easy to persuade him, though she was glad that he seemed to be interested. If anything, their kits would need him during late leafbare, when they would be born. She gave a look of realization though, and released a small sigh. She would need patience, and she had always been patient, and for him, she would out-wait the world. “You don’t have to leave now. I can fend for myself for a few moons, if you truly must go back. The tunnelers will need you for a while longer, I suppose. Then, we can be together with our kits.” She stepped closer, pressing her muzzle to his lightly as she murmured. “I needed you to know.”

Soulspirit gave a laugh, “Of course we can.” She purred, looking at her mate, “We should name them.” “Of course.” Cinderscar purred. He looked between the kits, offering. “That one.” He pointed to the first-borne kit with his tail, noticing how the tomkit’s dark grey pelt looked like ruffled feathers. “...Roostkit. I think Roostkit is a good name.”

Soulspirit nodded in agreement with the name, “That’s good.” She purred, then looked at the brown she-kit, “I like Eaglekit for her. She mewed, licking the she-kits fur. The little kit let out a squeak as she nursed from her mother.

“I love it.” Cinderscar purred his approval before he leaned down and hummed, nosing Eaglekit once before looking and the mottled tom. His legs were a bit longer than his siblings, and he purred with laughter. “Bouncekit, for this little one.”

“That’s perfect.” Soulspirit said and looked at the last she-kit, with whiteish Gray fur, “And Morningkit for her.” She said, wrapping her tail around her kits, “Roostkit, Eaglekit, Bouncekit and Morningkit.” She purred.

He had missed her touch. “Fine,” he murmured. “I’ll join you... but I do want to stay in WindClan until the time they are born.” He pulled away, meeting her eyes. “We can meet here again in 2 moons, at the half-moon, if you’re alright with that.”

Dawnpaw woke up and lifted her head slowly and got to her paws, as she groomed herself waiting for lightpaw to awake. dawnpaw yawned and prodded lightpaw’s side with her paw, lightpaw let out a mrrow of surprise and looked at dawnpaw “oh, its you” he said with a hint of relief. Dawnpaw cuffed lightpaw around the ear playfully,”mouse brain” she muttered and walked to the fresh kill pile and lifted a small rabbit. when she finished the rabbit she stifly groomed herself and sped off on to the moor. As dawnpaw was silently padding through the tall grass she paused and parted her lips to drink in the scents of the moor Only a few moments later dawnpaw scented a rabbit nibbling on the remains of a plant a few fox lenths away. Dawnpaw paused and thought about rabbitclaw, she had left camp without him “im such a mouse brain”she told her self. “But if i come back to camp with this big rabbit maybe I’ll be okay?” She tried to convince herself. Dawnpaw moved her focus back on the rabbit “Dumb rabbit” She murmured and crouched. As she crawled nearer she relized she was only a fox lenths away, when dawnpaw was about to leap on the rabbit her sister, moonpaw stumbled clumsily out of the long grass, scaring the rabbit away. She leaped infront of moonpaw, “you scared away my rabbit!” She spat, moonpaw stared guiltily at dawnpaw, “I-im sorry, i didnt see you” she explained “sorry catches no prey!” Dawnpaw hissed as she stalked away.

She carefully crept throught the long grass parting her lips to drink in the scent of the moor, she scented rabbit and a strong scent of the thunderpath. She followed the rabbit scent untill she reached bare grass. She looked around and saw a big plump rabbit looking for any seeds or plants to eat. Carefully she crouched and leaped onto the rabbits spine nipping at its neck. she Looked down at her catch, pride welled in her paws. This is enough to feed the elders she thought. Moonpaw lifted the rabbit and felt it drag on the dusty moor. The scent of the rabbit made her mouth water with temptation. For the first time she relized how hungry she was, No she scolded her self, always put the clan first. When she arrived at camp she saw her sister crouched with her mentor, rabbitclaw near the fresh kill pile. Dawnpaw turned and glared at moonpaw, she had obviously not forgotten the incounter they had because dawnpaw glared at moonpaw angrily. moonpaw ducked her head awkwardly as she placed the rabbit down onto the fresh kill pile. Her stomach yowled with hunger, but she ignored it.

Dawnpaw had always loved to sit by the stream and listen to the waves hit the rocks. when she arrived the water was higher than the day before, she ignored it and settled beside the stream and listened to the water run throught the rocks. She thought of her sister Moonpaw, she was always bothering her and telling dawnpaw to stay away from the borders including the river. Dawnpaw liked moonpaws company, moonpaw had always been there for dawnpaw but dawnpaw had grown tired of moonpaw telling her what to do. She heard shuffling coming from behind her, she turned her head and saw moonpaw. “Dawnpaw what are you doing so close to the borderline?” She damanded, dawnpaw got to her paws glaring at moonpaw, “does it matter?” She hissed with annoyance. “Actually Yes, it does” she shoved dawnpaw torwards the direction of camp, “lets get going, it’ll be getting dark soon” she and moonpaw arrived at camp “i think you should go have some fresh kill, dawnpaw” moonpaw blinked woriedly. “Okay” she agreed. Dawnpaw padded to the fresh kill pile and crouched beside lightpaw, lightpaw turned to dawnpaw, as dawnpaw crouched beside lightpaw, she felt distress coming off him in waves, he turned and looked at dawnpaw.”there you are dawnpaw!” She caught a hint of relief in his tone.”of course i am, were you worried?” She teased him, lightpaw tacled dawnpaw playfully and batted her with his claws sheathed. As dawnpaw and lightpaw wrestled together, dawnpaw pushed lightpaw off, “i surender” she joked tiredly, “i knew you would” lightpaw said triumphantly. Dawnpaw looked at lighpaws light gray fur that now had dust on it and was stiking out like brambles. She and lighpaw gazed at eachother ”ill be back” dawnpaw said.

Dawn I just read through your posts and I wanted to let you know that Moonpaw and Dawnpaw will be given mentors that are rped by other members, Fire is just a little bit busy with her personal life right now and hasn't gotten to it yet. The clans have also just suffered from a huge fire and the territory has severely affected by it. Prey is very scarce right now. So while the apprentices totally could be hunting and could have caught a rabbit, they are not going to catch things every time. I know you are new and we are all here to help you get used to things! If you have any questions please feel free to ask ^.^ )
Sandfall yawned, exiting his nest to do a stretch before heading out into the middle of the camp. He sighed, looking to the minimal prey on the freshkill pile. Hopefully now with the gathering over, more cats can go out to hunt. he thought to himself before settling down to groom his pelt.
Sagefoot emerged from a tunnel, shaking out the dirt from her fur she moved towards her slumbering daughters. "Larkpaw." she mewed quietly. "Tell me about the gathering little one, what did you think?
Larkpaw looked up at her mother with bleary eyes, flicking her ears as she tried to wake up. "Um it was kinda scary, there was a lot of fighting and Shadowclan claimed fourtrees!"
Sagefoot frowned, glancing towards Swiftstar's den, she wondered if he would make an announcement, the clan should know!

Larkpaw glanced away from her mother, giving Moonpaw a smile, "Hi Moonpaw." The young apprentice got to her feet, pressing her face into her mother's fur for a moment. "I'll talk to you later Sagefoot!"
Sagefoot chuckled softly "Alright, have fun Larkpaw." the she-cat mewed in a amusement before padding around the camp to find Stonepath.
Larkpaw shook out her fur, looking back to the other apprentice. "So Moonpaw, do you wanna see if Sandfall will take us out? Maybe he can help us with our battle moves!" she mewed excitedly, looking over to her uncle.

Moonpaw had never had a warrior to practice with. Rabbitclaw had volunteered to help dawnpaw with her hunting skill untill she had gotten a official mentor. But dawnpaw was always busy mooning over lightpaw when ever she was at camp. Moonpaw and dawnpaw had never known who there parents were since no one else in the clan had moonpaw’s and dawnpaw’s fluffy fur.

((Hi Dawn! I’ll assign mentors to your characters in a bit, I’m just checking with a couple of mentors to make sure they’re okay with having new apprentices A couple things I just wanted to point out to make it a bit easier!: - All the clans just went through a pretty serious fire like Willow pointed out. Prey might be pretty scarce for a bit. - Windclan doesn’t have a lot of trees on our territory, it’s mostly flat grasslands, so most of the hunting is done in pairs. I’m sure your mentors will help with that too If you have any questions at all, don’t be afraid to ask any of us in pm or on the RP, we’d love to help out))

Larkpaw scampered over to Sandfall, "Hi Sandfall! Will you take me and Moonpaw out? Maybe help us with our training a bit? Twigtail's busy right now and I wanna work on my battle moves."
Sandfall blinked at the two apprentices before hauling himself to his paws. "Sure, let's go. I don't want to be gone too long though, I'm supposed to be on a hunting patrol at sunhigh."
Larkpaw grinned at Moonpaw as they exited the camp towards the training grounds.

Larkpaw grinned at Moonpaw as they exited the camp towards the training grounds. Moonpaw bounced next to larkpaw as they walked torwards the training grounds, it was going to be her first time doing battle moves! Moonpaw turned to larkpaw “have you ever practiced battle moves? Larkpaw nodded eagerly, "Just once though, since I was just apprenticed. Twigtail showed me the basics! Maybe Sandfall can show us something really cool though."
Sandfall turned around to face them once they reached the sandy hollow. "Alright Larkpaw, Moonpaw. I want you to face each other. We're going to start by having Moonpaw trying to hit Larkpaw. Larkpaw will attempt to dodge out of the way. Since you two are still apprentices, you have to remember to use your smaller size and speed to your advantage. When you are fighting a grown cat, it is much easier to continually dodge them and wear them out before fighting back."
Larkpaw nodded, listening intently to the warrior. "Got it Sandfall!"
