Stonepath's padding stopped before the mouths of one of the tunnels. While the grasses around them looked scorched, he did not see any cracks or crumbling of this particular tunnel. He took a breath, before mewing back to the patrol.
"This may be a good place to start."

The odd calico colored of Patchriver followed behind Stonepath, her eyes raking across the scorched land before stopping at the tunnel before them. "I'll go in first and make sure it's safe."

“Be careful.” Stonepath ordered. “If you hear any sound of crumbling or cracking, you come right back out.” He nodded, trusting Patchriver’s skills enough to let him go first.

The she-cat gave a quick nod before making her way into the tunnel, the dry air enfolding around her, causing the she-cat to take in a deep breath as she moved i to the tunnels that she had grown up and trained in for so long. She padded deeper and deeper before halting and calling back over her shoulder to the others. "It's safe!"

Patchriver padded around in the tunnels for a while more before returning to the surface where Stonepath was waiting. "The tunnel that heads off toward camp is standing but just barely. There are three other tunnels that are still standing and two that have completely collapsed."

“Good. That’s better than I expected.” Stonepath nodded with a hint of relief. “We can put this one down as a tunnel to focus repairs on. Let’s go see if we can find anymore stable entrances.”

"I'll go through the tunnels themselves and find out just how bad the damage is underground. If I find other entrances I'll be sure to mark them like this." Turning to the entrance they were standing at the she-cat swiped her claws through the dirt right at the entrance to the tunnel, leaving four deep marks in the sand. "That way we know which tunnels have been checked and which ones haven't."

Stonepath contemplated her words for a moment, before he finally nodded. "Very well. Remain in the stable tunnels only, and make sure to note which ones can be best traveled. We'll check the other entrances."

Dashclaw wasn't very helpful on his patrol. As horrifying as the camp was with it's destruction, he couldn't stop thinking about the tunnels and the rank Swiftstar stripped him of.
