[Same! They're literally amazing. I use Aedan a lot but I feel like he's more fleshed out in this rp than in any of the other ones]
"I think it will be just fine. It'll be perfect when it's all built" Aedan smiled "Just you wait and see - you'll love it, I have no doubt. We'll make it cosy and homely"
Aedan found himself getting really excited about this. He had been excited at the prospect of officially moving in with Damianos, but now he was also excited about the house itself, about the chance of making it their own

((Dawhhh >///<))
Damianos smiled at his excitement, kissing his forehead again, before resting his chin on top of his head and gazing silently out over the village. Where they stood was on a slightly raised hill, so they had a perfect view of the goings-on within the tribe. He watched the wolves mill about, greeting the tribe members nervously and then hurrying about their business, still shy and nervous to be about other people. He held back a chuckle, looking around again. He spotted Mordred and his brother, getting washed by a bucket of water and preparing for the day, and Brígh watching over them with love and concern.

"Hopefully the Lykos will soon begin to be comfortable around the tribe" Aedan smiled "And hopefully the same will happen for Brígh and her sons. It'll be great if everything goes well there."
There was a pause before he spoke again "This is probably good timing for us to move anyway, because Eo's due in a couple of weeks, I think, and she'll probably need the space. I imagine Esca will be thoroughly fed up of a crying baby after a couple of weeks. I fully expect that he'll be coming into our roundhouse to get away from it"

Damianos struggled to restrain a grumble as Aedan mentioned Esca might be joining them, and silently cursed his people's way of living. Why couldn't they be more restrained, like the Romans and Greeks, and have normal houses, with private rooms? Instead he smiled. 'Yeah... imagine so.' He ran a hand through his hair, holding back a sigh. 'So how do we start this thing?' He asked, chuckling.

"It's alright, we'll chase him away," Aedan smiled "don't worry about it"
When asked how they start it, he replied "Well, I can get some builders in the tribe onto it - they're excellent at it. They'll weave some panels and use things like clay to make them lice and solid. The walls will all be fitted together and then a thatcher can do the roof for it. It'll look great when its done"

Damianos nodded and smiled. 'Shall we go commission them then?' He asked him, eager to get started on it. 'Oh!!!' He said, grinning, moving around to the back of the roundhouse shape. He marked out a second opening. 'For when I'm in my wolf form- I can't open doors with paws.' He said, laughing lightly as he stood. 'Just make it like, a hinged flap.'

Aedan laughed "Right, of course, I forgot about that. It's a good job you remembered, isn't it. Okay, if you want, you can just wait here, and I'll go and get it commissioned? I'll only be a second, and I'm sure they'll go straight to work as soon as I commission them."
The roundhouse shouldn't take too long at all, if experience were anything to go by. Aedan was relatively confident that everything would go absolutely fine. Well, he hoped of anyway,

'That sounds good to me.' Damianos replied, smiling happily at his partner. He then looked up with a frown, seeing one of the women from his pack approaching him, something very large and furry rolled up in her arms. She came over and smiled, revealing the item to be the skinned bear-fur, head and paws still perfectly intact- it truly was beautiful work, and showed the Lykos had their own talents- perhaps unable to build roundhouses, but damn could they hunt and create clothes. 'The skin for you, Damianos.' She said, holding it out to him. Damianos silently accepted it and shook it out- his own sheer size made it appear normal against him, whilst it had swamped the woman. He swung it around, the head now working as a hood, and slung it over his shoulders, the paws having a clasp on them to fasten it like a cloak. It hung beautifully down him, giving him a graceful air of power, and he looked even bigger and more... 'present' than he already was. He pulled up the hood, the muzzle covering his hair. He glanced at Aedan, a fierce happiness in his eyes. 'This was our first bear kill.' He explained. 'Usually in the Lykos, when a chief kills a major predator, they wear the skin- this is to take unto them the fierce aggression and power that the beast once held, and to claim it as their own.'

Aedan had watched the whole thing happening, letting out an impressed sound when he saw Damianos actually put the pelt on. It looked incredible, undoubtedly. He was impressed.
"Wow, it's really impressive" Aedan smiled "It certainly makes you look very powerful. I like it. Let us hope that you and the rest of the Lykos get to collect many more of these"
Having said this, he caught sight of one of the builders he would need to speak to, and told Damianos he would go and start commissioning. With that, he headed off, going around to see the different people he needed to speak to. Before long it was all agreed.

When he came back, Damianos had somehow accumulated a hoarde of small children, who were roaring and trying to 'kill the bear', jumping on him whilst he laughed his deep, booming laugh, holding them off with ease. They toppled him over and pretended to stab him, and he released a roar of fake pain, before falling limp. Silence fell for a long time, and then the children began to become stressed, nervously shaking him to see if they'd actually killed him, their panic palpable.

{Damianos + kids = RIP me}
"Uh-oh," Aedan laughed as he approached the scene "Did you guys kill him?" he teased with a smile "Well, it just shows what good hunters you are!"
He was watching Damianos, though, because he knew what was coming. The kids were going to have great fun - he could hear their squeals already.

The kids giggled at Aedan's praise and then released screams as Damianos 'came back to life', and grabbed the nearest couple of kids, trapping them against his body. 'I am an all powerful demigod!!! Thou cannot smite me!' He bellowed, before breaking down into a deep, booming laugh, the kids immediately joining in with loud giggles.

[Hello!]
It wasn't long before even Aedan had joined in the game, taking a moment away from his duties to entertain the children - including Esca, who had somehow managed to get in one the game without Aedan or Damianos even realising.
It was soon a sea of shrieking children, and Aedan found himself laughing, enjoying the whole experience. Maybe he would be a better father than he thought he would be. He hadn't been a great uncle, but he could start being one. He could be a great uncle for Esca and for Eo's child, and he could be a good father if he and Damianos decided to adopt

((Heyo :3 these two give me life))
Damianos laughed as Aedan joined in, and then laughed harder upon noticing that Esca had joined too. After a while he was finally tired, and allowed the kids to 'defeat' him and hold him hostage. 'What should we do with him?' Asked Mordred, who had also joined the fray, and was now sitting beside Esca, tapping his chin thoughtfully. 'We could try building a prison.'

[Same! Hehe]
"The builders are bringing materials for a roundhouse for Damianos and I," Aedan began with a mischievous smile when he heard Mordred mention building a prison
"Ooh, let's use those!" Esca grinned, smiling to Mordred "We can build a prison with them!"
"As long as you don't break them," Aedan smiled "you can use them,"
Aedan smiled to Damianos "Sorry, but it looks like they're building a little prison for you"

Damianos sniggered quietly, wiping his brow before holding out his hands to let them tie his wrists and take him 'prisoner'. 'Oh, dear. How terrible.' He said, with dramatic flair and a huge sigh. Mordred giggled softly, then noticed his brother curiously watching them and waved, smiling widely. 'Ciar! Come help us build a prison!' Ciar flinched at his words and smiled nervously, immediately shaking his head as he continued past them, rubbing his arm. He held a bucket and a rod was slung over his shoulder, evidently off to make himself useful and do some fishing. Mordred sagged slightly as Ciar brushed him off, and sulkily began to pluck at the grass.

"It's okay, Mordred," Aedan said gently to the boy as Ciar left to presumably go and fish "it'll just take some time for him to adjust, that's all. And he's sixteen, he might not want to join in with the games."
He knew Ciar had been forced to grow up too fast, and that meant that Ciar might never want to join in games with the children. But that was okay, too, so long as he didn't let himself be miserable about it.
Esca had already run off to secure some materials to make the 'prison' with, running back and forth as he brought over the building materials

Mordred glanced up at Aedan, then quietly back into his lap, nodding. He ran a hand through his hair and shuffled closer to the adult Celt, taking comfort from his presence. Damianos watched as the kids got to work, chuckling quietly, shaking his head; they were sketching out plans in the dirt and everything. An hour later they still hadn't managed, and were now sitting around frustrated. Ciar returned with a bucket full of fish, and jumped as Mordred waved at him again. Once more he nervously smiled and flightily made his way past them, towards the food hut. He disappeared inside, then came back out, and hesitantly made his way over to them. 'What's the problem?' He softly asked, haven noticed Mordred looked frustrated. 'We can't build it.' He complained. 'It keeps either falling apart, or the ropes won't hold!' Ciar scratched the back of his neck slightly, examining what they had tried to do, before quietly moving over and gracefully moving onto his knees. Damianos tilted his head, noting with curiosity how strangely elegant the boy was; very feminine, and he hoped that the clan wouldn't make fun of him for it, nor the men discriminate against him. Even his features were feminine. Ciar then set about teaching the younger boys how to set up the prison and hold together the materials, demonstrating the correct knots to tie around the different pieces of material, until just one hour later it was done, a working-door and everything. 'We did it!' Mordred excitedly said, leaping against his brother and hugging him tightly. An immediate panicked look of pain shattered across Ciar's face as his bad wounds were agitated, but he made no sound at all, not wanting to upset his brother. Instead, he gritted his teeth and closed his eyes, waiting for Mordred to pull away and join the others. When he finally did, Ciar shakily shuffled away from the boys, settling himself down to now simply watch as they continued in their play, still not wanting to get involved.

"That was really nice of you," Aedan smiled to Ciar when the boy had moved back to let the younger ones play, watching as they now struggled to get Damianos inside "Do you like this sort of stuff, building and things?"
Ciar had seemed to be quite happy to help the younger ones, showing them how to do everything. Aedan had to wonder if the boy liked architecture or building or any such thing. If he did, there would always be plenty of opportunities for Ciar to do these sorts things, though obviously on a much larger and much more important scale.
The man was trying to work out the teenager, trying to size him up and learn about him. He was quiet, and very flighty, and it made it much more difficult to get to know him. It was easy to get to know Mordred - Esca was already taking strides with that. But not Ciar. Ciar was very different. Not that it was a bad thing, it just made it very difficult for Aedan to try to get to know him.
It had seemed to Aedan that the best way to make strides with Ciar was to talk with him about his time as a slave - it seemed that the two had things in common in terms of how their time in bondage had changed them. Damianos had been so resilient and had bounced back so quickly. Of course, Damianos wasn't without his internal wounds from the slavery, but he seemed more able to put them aside. Aedan had much deeper scars, things which still affected him in many aspects of his life. To him, Ciar felt the same. Perhaps it was because they had both been quiet. Damianos had brought Aedan out of his shell somewhat, but Aedan had been very shy when he was Ciar's age, very quiet. Perhaps it was that which made them carry the effects of captivity more deeply.

Ciar blinked up at him, seemingly unfazed by the question and very willing to reply. 'I suppose so. My pa taught me before he died. I can carve wood, and make armour, too. I'm better with my hands than I am at anything else.' He quietly looked into his lap, at his preened nails, delicate fingers. 'Ma always said I shoulda been a girl. Says I'm too soft, too eager to teach, too quiet and unwilling to take the lead.' He ran a hand through his hair. 'But... I don't see the point in trying to fight with heavy swords and hunt with spears if I'm no good at it.' He watched Mordred lock the door and triumphantly hold up the key, the kids cheering as Damianos cheerfully sat in his cell and watched them all play, rather too happy to be sitting behind bars again. 'Mordred-' he stopped himself from speaking and slammed his mouth shut, gritting his teeth as if to stop his tongue from moving.

"I had that said about me, too, you know," Aedan replied with a smile "that I was too soft, I mean. My best weapon was a bow when I was your age and I wasn't great at close-range combat. I only got good with swords because I had to. I mean, it turns out I'm good with weapons and at hunting, I can do that stuff, but I didn't used to be when I was your age. Just stick with what you're good at - that's what matters, not whether other people think that you're feminine or masculine. I don't think you should have been a girl, and even if it was so, it doesn't matter. If you just stay Ciar, I guarantee that you can't go wrong"
He saw the boy saying his brother's name, but then stop himself from saying anything more. Aedan didn't exactly know how to react to that, so he didn't say anything. That was the best thing to do.

Ciar blinked up at Aedan and slowly relaxed again as he spoke to him, fiddling with a thread on his jerkin. He blushed slightly and looked into his lap, before taking a deep breath and deciding to tell him. He shuffled closer. 'Mordred- he's- Ma named him because he's not... he's not normal.' He mumbled. 'He's... he's a Witch.' He said, hands shaking slightly as he waited for Aedan to panic. 'He's not my full brother. It's why he looks so different from me and ma.' He watched Mordred happily play with the other children as they began to give Damianos rules. 'His pa was a...' he dropped his voice, glancing around, before whispering; 'warlock,' the name for a disgraced witch, a traitor to their kind. 'Ma didn't know at the time. We're not sure what kind he is at the moment, but you need to be careful with his emotions.' He shivered. 'The last time he got angry and distressed was when we were taken from ma. The whole campsite was destroyed by a violent storm which came out of nowhere.' He looked up at him, fear in his eyes. 'Ma won't say anything because she's protecting him- but this is your clan, and you deserve to know.'

Aedan took a deep breath but remained calm, only looking a little surprised "Is that so? That is interesting. Well, don't worry, Ciar, we'll keep Mordred safe and we'll make sure that if anything happens we can keep things under control. I'm sure it will be fine. Hopefully, here, the most he'll get is very happy. You're a very good brother to him, Ciar, and your mother is a very good mother to the both of you. I'm sure it will all turn out just fine, so long as we're appropriately cautious when we need to be"
Of course, this knowledge did complicate things a little bit, but Aedan was sure it was nothing that couldn't be handled, so long as he dealt with Mordred with a little bit more care and caution than he might with the other children his age. Hopefully everything would turn out alright, provided that Aedan was careful and Mordred didn't get upset or anything,

Ciar released a deep and relieved sigh, what remained of his anxiety and responsibility seemingly melting away off of his shoulders. 'Thankyou, Aedan.' He said, closing his eyes tiredly and brushing back his hair again, as it was annoying him hanging in his face. He vaguely considered braiding it, but wasn't entirely sure how to. 'You're a good Chief.' He added, smiling up at him.

"Thank you - I try to be" Aedan replied as he sat back a little "but it's really Damianos who keeps me going. I don't think I'd be here if it weren't for him, never mind running a tribe. I'd all but given up on ever coming back here until I met him."
The moment he said those words, he knew they were true. Aedan had been, in the words of Damianos, 'a broken slave', even if he hadn't realised it. He had given up on freedom, and it had taken meeting Damianos to change that for him.
