"Of course I would," Aedan smiled "I have said as much. And I don't think the clan shall find it too strange, but if they do then it is their problem and not ours. As long as neither of us have a problem with it I don't see why the tribe should."
He was leading the two of them onto a path he knew, which would soon begin and uphill climb, up a mountain. The one which had always been his favourite when he was young.

Damianos smiled excitedly, eyes bright. 'I'd- I'd love to do that, then.' He said, stammering slightly as he almost tripped on a root, and then pretended that he hadn't. 'How... soon would you like to?' He curiously asked, looking at the Celt. 'I'll wait as long as you need.'

Aedan shrugged "As soon as I can arrange something? I'd rather do it a good while after Eo has had her baby, because I don't want her to feel like we're trying to overshadow her or anything. She would just hate that and I don't want to upset her"

'Of course.' Damianos said, still excited, looking around at the new scenery. 'Eoghann is lovely. She deserves to be happy.' He then curiously looked at Aedan. 'Where... is her husband?' He curiously asked. 'Does she have one? Who does the baby belong to?'

Aedan shrugged "I'm not sure. It's someone from the tribe, she says. She plans to marry him, but she is keeping his identity under wraps for the moment, for whatever crazy Eoghann reasons she has. She is lovely, but a she is a mystery, that one. The kindest soul you will ever meet, but very quiet and secretive. Neither of which I and Idelle are"

Damianos frowned, a protective expression suddenly appearing on his face. 'If I were you, I think I'd damn-well rather meet him before she marries him. What if he's a creep?' He said, sounding frustrated. 'What if he's horrible to her? That doesn't sit right with me.' He grumpily looked away, watching as a roe deer disappeared into a bush nearby.

(So what do you think you are going to do about your boyfriend? Are you OK?)
Aedan sighed "Believe me, I've tried. But I trust her. She's my sister. And it's a man from the tribe. All of the men are pretty decent. She should be okay. Honestly, the girl is as stubborn as a mule. Always has been. She wanted to be a warrior when she was sixteen and she tried for follow me into battle. Of course, she had no training, so she couldn't go. She had such a tantrum"

She wanted to be a warrior when she was sixteen and she tried for follow me into battle. Of course, she had no training, so she couldn't go. She had such a tantrum" ((I'm not sure yet tbh. We've been together three and a half years and I feel like I'm the only one who's matured through it? He still hasn't spoken to me but he's actually had the gall to reply to me on two rps on here lol. I'm pretty annoyed to say the least. Thanks for asking btw, I'm actually alright; my best friend is helping me through it and my family are being really supportive, and I'm not so lonely as I thought I would be xx)) Damianos nodded slowly as Aedan said how he trusted her, then burst out laughing at the last part. 'If she's got the guts, why didn't you train her?' He howled, finding the image of tiny little Eo rushing into battle hilarious. He wiped tears from his eyes, unbelievably tickled by the image in his head. 'Bless her little heart.' He grinned, shaking his head. 'Mitera was like that. Used to fight off the wildcats and the feral dogs when they'd try to attack our cattle. Should have seen her wield a broom.' He flashed Aedan a wolfish grin, love in his eyes as he spoke of his mother. 'She was a force to be reckoned with. She actually taught me how to use a sword- the basics at least. Without her I doubt I'd have been any use in defending our homestead.' He sighed softly, looking at the floor. It hurt him to remember his mother; it hurt him to remember Atreus, who had almost been a replacement father figure, in a way. In truth he'd lost his parents- he didn't quite have that familial connection to the Lykos. They were just... his, he supposed. The children, however, were a different matter- now those little ones he would fight and die for.

(Awe, well as long as you're okay. Look, perhaps it would be a good idea to talk things out? Talking it out always helps. Even if it doesn't help the actual relationship, it puts things on a clearer plane and allows you to evaluate things. Who knows? Maybe he feels really bad about things and wants to apologise? Maybe he has an explanation)
Aedan shrugged "Wasn't my decision. My father said she wasn't suited for the battles. There's a big difference between thinking you can handle being a warrior and actually being able to handle being a warrior. Eo...she was very brave... but she was too damn nice. She'd probably stab someone and then apologise. She just can't handle it. She really wanted to. Now, Idelle. She was a fighter. She beat me once or twice. But she dropped it when she got pregnant with Esca. Wanted to focus all of her time and energy onto being a good mother"

I spilled my guts whilst crying my eyes out to him three nights ago and it's changed nothing. I don't think he appreciates what he's got ATM, it's just upsetting when I know myself that I should be treated better than how I am atm. My best friend has been in a relationship with her new guy for a month, and already they're like a cute married couple- they've fought and he's always made it up to her, he takes her out and actually makes an effort with her, he practically worships the ground she walks on and she loves him to bits, and my relationship currently feels very one sided and I've said as much)) Damianos nodded, fully capable of picturing Idelle as a strong and powerful warrior, a sad smile on his lips. 'What about Esca's father?' He curiously asked. 'What happened to him? Was Idelle ever married to him?'

(Well, either way, the only way anything in the relationship is ever going to change is if you talk to him, anyway. I just think talking night help x Sorry, I know I don't know your problems, but talking is the only way to change anything)
Aedan nodded "Yes, Idelle was married to him. He died when Esca was five. I don't know what happened to him - Idelle doesn't like to talk about it, but I think it was a hunting accident. Esca doesn't know anything, of course, other than his dad died."

((Thanks for trying to help I'll update you on the situation if anything changes x)) Damianos nodded, eyes sad as he looked at the floor. 'Poor kid.' He sighed, glancing up as he saw a raven sitting on a branch. He froze, then very quickly pushed Aedan around the branch, not wanting to pass underneath the carrion-eater. It watched them with a beady eye. 'Ravens follow us everywhere.' He mumbled to Aedan. 'Usually they're our playmates and dinner-guests at a kill, but that one?' He nodded at it. 'It's bigger than the rest. And it has a weird white marking on its wings.' He shuddered, continuing to walk. 'I got lost once and it showed me the way home. And it's always present whenever we've been part of a battle against another forest tribe. I swear that it's some kind of God- or at least their eyes.'

Aedan sighed "You're right. I'll keep an eye out for things, though I suspect I'll be safe. And what do you mean, she likes me? She saw me one day and took pity on me. That isn't love, it's kindness. Besides, even if she did it couldn't work between us, so I would just have to choose to ignore it anyway. I can't afford to let myself fall in love with her because even if she returned it, it couldn't happen. I'm a slave, and a Celt. She's the Emperor's daughter, and a Roman. There are so many levels on which this simply couldn't work" "Have you not thought to leave with her?" He asked looking at the pale celt then turning his attention to his dirt filled nails attempting to get them clean. "Also did Remus tell her that there is another party tonight? Big gala apparently a young heiress is coming of age?" "No Acilus its the party before their wedding." A large spartan called from the other side of the pool.

It did seem a little odd, whatever had happened. But whatever it was, Aedan couldn't let himself be afraid of it - it didn't, as of yet, seem to present any tangible threat towards the two men.

Perhaps I can use it as an opportunity to speak properly with her." There was much he wanted to know from Sabina, and there was so much he wanted to tell her. He had to talk to her, and he would probably have to do it soon if he wanted to get anywhere at all with it. He had to get her alone, something he had not really managed to properly do yet.

'Gives me the creeps.' Damianos sighed, relaxing once they were out of sight of it. 'In Lykos lore, if you hear the scream of a screech owl, or see one of its feathers, or see the bird itself, it is a terrible omen of death.' He told him, eager to share the lore he had learnt from the clan. 'I'm inclined to believe it- last year we lost an entire batch of cub- of babies, and at the time of their last breaths, a screech owl flew directly overhead. It was strange.' He glanced around. 'And I'm still getting used to your creatures.' He added, frowning deeply. 'Two years back I accidentally moved something belonging to the faeries. The pack had bad luck for three entire months before they realised what had happened. The second we put it back, things looked up.' He shook his head and looked at Aedan. 'Your lands are scary.' He told him. 'And I thought Greece was bad; you ever seen a hellhound, or empousei?' He grinned.

"Huh," Aedan had replied to the owl story, interested "Interesting. My people also believe that owls can be bad omens. If we both believe it, I would be inclined to think it to be true. But our lands are not that scary. The faerie people are just easily angered, is all. But once one had gotten used to the way they work and how you can prevent yourself from angering them, they are relatively harmless. Just nuisances, more than anything else. They can be extremely irritating when they decide that they want to be. Something many learn the hard way."
At the question about hellhounds, Aedan shook his head "I cannot say that I have, though they sound fearsome. And you? Have you seen a hellhound, then? I assume that you have"

Damianos nodded as Aedan spoke of the faeries, then grinned as he asked about the hellhound. 'Oh, yes. A whole pack of them. Came after one of our bulls one night- they're this big-' he lifted his hand slightly above his head, 'and have huge fangs, the size of a lengthy dagger. Massive claws, bulky front shoulders and powerful legs. Mitera ran outside banging pots and pans and they ran with their tails between their legs.' He burst out laughing at the memory- it was ridiculous, really, how easily they had scared away.

Aedan burst out laughing at the story "Sounds about right. So am I to assume that they re not nearly as fierce as they look?"
From the story, it certainly sounded that way to Aedan. But he also knew never to underestimate such creatures as those.

Damianos nodded. 'Hellhounds are basically just wild dogs; any demigod could tame a young one.' He told him. 'But not the adults- those are to be killed on sight. Dangerous, violent and aggressive when in a tight spot or starving.' He jumped half out of his skin as a rabbit shot out from the nearby bushes, and blushed deeply with embarassment.

Aedan laughed as Damianos jumped "You okay? Is it just all this talk of ravens and hellhounds that has you rattled?"
He turned the two onto a steeper path, lined with wild flowers. It was already growing colder with altitude, and Aedan kept an eye on his partner to ensure he wasn't cold.

'Probably.' Damianos laughed, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly and smiling at him warmly, before focusing on the road ahead. The Greek appeared to have adapted well to the weather in their five years apart, and didn't seem too bothered at the moment by the cold, more interested in the scenery, curiously brushing fingertips over petals of flowers.

Aedan smiled, and as they went he talked about the different flowers around them, about what his people called them, and about their uses. It was always fascinating, and he found that some might actually be useful for their journey, and plucked some to put in their packs.
"So, tell me about our time apart," Aedan said as he plucked a flower "What happened?"

'Well, Medeia trained me for a year.' Damianos said, helping Aedan pluck the flowers, making sure he himself didn't pick the wrong ones. 'Then she passed away and left the ruling of the pack to me. We've had a few small battles over territory and won them all, and lost three litters.' He sighed softly. 'Overall, not much... just providing for the pack and learning how to be a leader.'

Aedan nodded "It has been much the same for me. It took a while for the tribe to warm up to me - they were certain that I would be all Roman. But obviously I wasn't. It's just hard to get over the stigma of having been a slave. Even if you are free."
It had taken a seriously long time for the tribe to understand that he wasn't any different for having been a slave and a gladiator, and they hadn't accepted rule at first,

Damianos quietly nodded as he listened and helped fill the herb pouches, before slowly standing and helping Aedan to his feet. He smiled gently at him and then continued to walk, enjoying the breeze ruffling through his soft curls. He breathed in, the scent of flowers, rabbit, and cool air filling his nose, and silently wondered if there was any berries or anything nearby that he could forage. He looked back at Aedan. 'It took me a long while to get used to everything here.' He said. 'And since the pack is very matriarchal, it took even longer for the women to accept me as their leader.' He sighed and looked away. 'I really, really missed being able to talk with another man. And I missed you even more.'

Aedan smiled "I missed you a lot too. I didn't realise how much strength you gave me until you left. I felt like I was only half myself. But at least we are together again now. That is what is important, that we are together. And we can finally have some time together. The last time we were truly alone together was like, what, seven years ago?"

Damianos laughed and nodded. 'Yes... it was.' He looked at him and smiled, before continuing to walk. He curiously noticed a lake in the distance, and then a herd of horses. 'Holy...' he breathed, eyes widening. 'Are those /wild/?' He asked, mouth agape, watching as the majestic creatures galloped and fought, played and kicked, the stallions hoarding their harems of mares and their foals to defend them from the other stallions.

Aedan smiled "Yeah, those are wild. Been in the area for a long time, I think. They're all beautiful animals, but they won't let you near them. It would be near impossible to tame them. Trust me, I've tried. The creatures have furious tempers and they are very stubborn. We shouldn't go too close, otherwise we are liable to be trampled"
So Aedan froze and watched the animals instead as they made their way across the landscape, charging majestically, their hooves making a cacophony of noise.
