Aedan was quite proud of Damianos for trying to learn the language, and he was proud of his tribe for trying to help him, but he felt it was perhaps too overwhelming for him.
"It is strange, hearing you speak Latin and Greek" Idelle commented around the fire that night "How well do you know them?"
"I know Latin reasonably well. I originally learned enough to keep out of trouble but you pick stuff up or the years. The Greek I don't know quite so well. I've tried to learn from the Greeks there but they mainly just spoke Latin. What I know I've learned from Damianos"
(Oh, was it? Good)

Aquila was doing better, managing to hold conversations with the input of Nuellan. (Sorry its short xx))

Aedan saw Damianos looking and quickly translated what had just been said, in case he wanted to join the conversation.
"So, what happened these last seven years?" Idelle asked "How did you meet all of these people?"
Aedan translated the question in case Damianos wanted to input anything "Well, I fell unconscious due to an injury on the battlefield. The Romans took me as a slave and took me to Rome. I was sold to a gladiator trainer who treated me very badly," He quickly showed the whipping scars on his back before continuing "About two years ago Damianos became a slave, and he was sold to the same master as me. We both tried to escape and got separated as a consequence. Damianos went to another cruel master, but then Atreus bought him. Damianos and I got pitted against each other in a fight and that's how we reunited. Atreus met me after the fight and then he became my master. He treated us all very kindly, more like friends than anything."
(No problem x)

He treated us all very kindly, more like friends than anything." (No problem x) Atreus glanced up at the mention of his name as well, looking more wary than confused. Damianos gave him a warm smile to assure him, then shuffled a little closer to Aedan and Idelle. 'Aquila came to Atreus as a pit fighter. He was torn from his homestead as a twelve year old and had been forced to fight ever since. He is the oldest of us all.' Damianos said. He hesitated before he spoke of Nuellan, ensuring the male was far enough away. 'Nuellan was being sold for his body, and forced to dance for the pleasure of the richer romans.' He quietly said. 'Atreus bought him and taught him to fight and fend for himself. Aquila helped. Nuellan is the second oldest.' He finished explaining his friends stories and allowed Aedan to translate, before he debated on telling Idelle his own story. 'I worked a small farm in Greece,' he began, 'just me and my mother.' He glanced up at Aedan. 'As a demigod-son of Ares, I had innate capabilities to fight, and so I took up the sport 'Pankration' to help earn us more money; I was spotted by Roman slave traders, whom recognised my blood. They took me and killed my mother, and then the rest Aedan has told you.' He finished, looking a lot better to have finally gotten his full story off his chest. He looked over at Atreus whom had been listening; his eyes were sad. Damianos smiled slightly, and Atreus wearily returned it, before continuing to nibble on the meat in his hand.

Aedan translated everything as Damianos spoke it, and watched something slowly dawn in his sister's eyes.
"Is the killing of a family member something that often happens?" Idelle asked softly, her voice sad.
Aedan nodded "With our first master it was. To force us to fight"
"Then Eoghann?" Idelle asked
Aedan nodded "That's what happened. And I'm so sorry, Idelle."
"She was our sister, not to mention only sixteen"
Aedan sighed, swallowing quietly "I know. That's why they chose her. They try and choose whoever they think is the most vulnerable. They were always going to pick either you or Eo. It's not my fault, and it's not yours. It's my old master"

Damianos felt something shift in the two celts, not even needing to speak their language to know which course the conversation had taken. He gently placed a hand on Aedan's knee to offer a little comfort, quietly looking into his lap with a soft sigh. He wished he could help him.

Aedan gave Damianos a warm smile when the Greek offered him some comfort.
Idelle looked down, blue eyes turned down to the ground.
"Ide?" Aedan asked gently "say something, please'
"I'm sorry," the woman replied "it was just such a hard time. I'd just lost you and had no idea what had happened, I'd just had Esca, and then they took Eoghann from me. I couldn't work out why they'd killed her, and Eo had no idea. She was just a kid. You were both just kids, damn it"
"I know. And I can't bring Eo back, but I'm here now. I'm back again, and you can have a family again. When I was gone I got such an appreciation for family. Now I can be the best uncle I can be for Esca, and the best brother for you."

Damianos removed his hand and nervously shuffled away from the siblings, feeling as though he were invading on their space. He instead moved over to Esca to sit with him and play with the boy. He brought out a small knife and a chunk of wood, and began to whittle it into a shape; after a while he had made the rough shape of a wolf, and smiled as he showed him.

(I feel like we should have something happen but I don't know what...)
Aedan noticed Damianos slipping away and he was grateful, knowing he could now discuss things with his sister.
Esca was fascinated by the little wooden wolf, the seven-year-old reaching out to touch it, tracing the shape of the ears and the tail.
"Damianos?" the little boy asked "what are my mother and my uncle talking about?"
It was in Celtic but Nuellan was nearby, and he was able to translate, though he made it clear he suspected it would be a bad idea to say much

Esca, being a child and living in the moment, seemed to accept Damianos' statement, and laughed as his hair was ruffled.
A little translation from Nuellan and Esca's eyes widened in excitement.
"Is it really mine? I love wolves!"

((Yeah!! Amd it could urge Aedan to take leadership)) (Yeah I like that idea x We'll do that then You want to start this or me?) ((I'll give it a go if you'd like!)) Damianos woke early the next day with a strangely bad feeling in his stomach. He sat up and moved out of his furs, slowly peering out of the roundhouse. He squinted as he focused on the horizon, then froze and swiftly retreated back inside. 'Aedan, get up. Aedan!!' He hissed, shaking him awake. 'Somethings wrong. There's a bunch of- there's a group in the distance, they look dressed for battle.' ((Sorry it's not very good x))

(It's great, don't worry)
Aedan knew something g was wrong the moment he was woken up, and sprung up.
"Alright," Aedan said. "Wake the others up, tell Idelle to keep Esca in here, and meet me outside"
The man changed and grabbed his sword, running out to the village gates to see what was happening. As soon as he saw the warriors, Aedan swore. The warriors were of the neighbouring tribe, the Selgovae.

Aquila and Nuellan quickly followed him out. 'What's going on?' Atreus demanded, following his group of gladiators. Nuellan glanced back at him. 'Neighbouring tribe. I think they're attacking.' He said. Atreus paused, glancing at the horizon. 'You should get inside, Atreus.' Aquila said. Atreus slowly nodded and backed up, heading back inside their shared roundhouse. 'What's the plan?' Damianos asked, straightening up as he stood beside Aedan.

"You guys need to go to each roundhouse and raise the alarm. Tell people to keep their children safely inside and tell the warriors to gather out here. I'll sort out the rest, okay?"
As they all broke off to do their tasks, Aedan ran to find the roundhouse where the tribe's best runner lived, who he woke.
"I need you to get a message out to the neighbouring villages. Tell them we're being attacked and we need more warriors"
After that he ran back to the shared roundhouse.
"Atreus, let me ask you something. You can coordinate group fights. How big of a group can you handle? Reckon you would want to help command, say, an army?"

"I don't need you, I want you" Aedan replied firmly "I need as many good leaders as possible, and as many warriors on the field as I can. I know how to fight one-to-one but you've been coordinating fights for years. I can split the warriors into groups if you want. Then you can have a group as large or as small as you want. And you don't have to do any actual fighting. I just need you to organise and coordinate. I need you to be the brains behind this whole operation. Only if you want too, though. I don't want to force you if you don't think you can"

So Aedan led the way outside, weaving through the throng of warriors to stand with Damianos, Nuellan and Aquila.
"We need to split these people into groups. Atreus will decide how many. Nuellan, Atreus and Aquila will be in charge of one group. Damianos and I will be in charge of another. After that we will choose leaders for he other groups"

I remember being constantly sunburned for the first couple of months of being here. It rains there a lot, but we are well used to it. There are many great mountains and forests, and there is so much nature. Where I live we gave this great and very beautiful river. It is where we get a lot of our food. We live in small villages, not in great cities like this. Little roundhouses that always have a warm fire inside of them. We work together as a village to provide for everyone's needs, even coming down to grinding the grain to make flour" "Wow.. sounds like a great community. I've heard some Briton villages have different talents. My friend Wila is from north of the wall, her village were great with horses. She is now our stable hand though she isn't free she is still in a better place then most." She remembered fighting with her father on moving wila to the stables, she originally was in the laundry room. Sabina knew she hated it and snuck her off to see the horses. When the old stable boy died of a sickness she pressed her father to move her and he refused to do a slave a favor but as most arguments went Sabina got her way with a sneak plan to show her parents how good Wila was.

Damianos blushed deeply at the compliment and felt himself become even more psyched for the fight. 'Let's charge them.' He said, bouncing on the balls of his feet. 'Show them we're not scared; this is our land.' Atreus heard Damianos and slowly nodded. 'He's right!' He called. 'It'll put them on the defence; plus, they'll be more worried about us charging than on returning an attack.'
