(*Meanwhile Ki-Ki is hiding partially behind Rafe, blushing madly* I can't wait to see her friends opinions too x3 ugh, this is obsessive...)
Ki-Ki grinned triumphantly as he let the boy keep the tip of a few extra dollars, hugging Rafe from behind around his waist.
"Bye-bye!" She chirped to the delivery person with a friendly tone, shutting the door and locking it out of habit. She flounced into the kitchen, taking the fork as he handed her the food she ordered for herself - vegetarian egg rice. "I know, but I feel better knowing you're in a clean environment when i'm not around. Sounds odd, but it's true," She said cheerfully, plopping into a chair and untucking the lid to the little white box, revealing her well-seasoned food. A few mints were stacked in the bag - her secret weakness. She pulled her fork from the box, piled shallowly with the rice pieces. She was recovering from an eating disorder, so she had ordered a very small amount of food - just enough to boost her energy. She was slowly gaining some healthy weight back, but her stomach was still a little too flat to be healthy.
"If you could go anywhere in the world, where you you go?" Ki-Ki asked suddenly, procrastinating her first bite even as her stomach rolled with hunger. She was tracing the bold, red chinese lettering on the side of the box with her finger, a thoughtful expression on her face.

( Reading your post just mad me extremely sad. So she's recovering from it, right? She doesn't currently have it? )
Rafe was already digging into his container of kung pao chicken, no longer hiding just how hungry he was. It was what he got every single time he ordered Chinese food, and he was certain he could eat it every single day and never grow sick of it. Noticing that Ki-Ki wasn't eating, however, he slowed down to watch her, sticking his fork into the food and leaving it there. He flickered between her and the rice she held, a silent indication that she should eat instead of simply sitting there.
"The Caribbean," he answered without much thought, pushing the chicken around in his box but never picking one up. "The sun and the beach. No responsibilities or worries about work and family. Let me lay out on the sand with a drink in my hand and I'm content." His fork pierced another piece of chicken, and he lifted to his face as if he were about to eat it. Instead he just inspected it, turning his fork over in his hand over and over again. He looked passer his food, using his fork to point at Ki-Ki's container. "The food is really good," he told her, hoping the talk of food would get her eating.

I'm so sorry... I'm recovering from Anorexia Nervosa myself (I'm seventeen and weigh about 108 lbs, gaining some back!) so it's really tricky for me to RP someone without a similar problem. But yes, recovering~)
Ki-Ki shot him a look, her usual yeah yeah I know, gimme a sec glance before taking a bite, keeping her expresion even so Rafe wouldnt notice how her stomach tightened with disgust at the food. (Please let me know if any of this bothers you, and I'll stop, okay?) After a few bites, she broke into an old habit: calorie counting. She knew it wasnt healthy, yet she couldnt quite control it. She was already at a hundred and fifty.
SHe thought about her own question for a moment, chewing on her next bite as she pondered, her deep-thinking look back in place as she stared at a tiny scratch at the table. Finally, she swallowed. "I think... back to London. My brother is still there, in college. It would be nice to visit," She took another bite, slowly gaining confidence as she realized that a fourth of her food was gone. Ki-Ki wouldn't be able to finish the whole box, even if it was a side - she was getting closer every time, though, and hoped that she wouldnt need to count either soon. "If not London, focusing solely on weather, then probably Fiji. Been there once when I was a small lass, with my father. Gorgeous coral reefs, and i loved swimming with the fish." She ended her sentance with another bite. Despite disliking food, she was a quick eater. About a fourth of the box was left, but she still folded the top and leaned back in the chair quietly.
"One week till Christmas. It never really seems real until the snow, eh?" She asked with a quirky smile, giving Rafe a sly look. She knew he hated snow, poking some mild fun at him.

( Don't worry. None of this bothers me at all. I'm just really sorry to hear that. :c I actually know a girl who weighs about the same as you. She got so stressed out from home and school that she really just didn't eat. I'm actually guilty of it too sometimes. I know we haven't known each other very long, but if you need to talk to me about any issues, I have no problem hearing them. You said you base them on yourself. Are you vegetarian? )
"London is always nice," he commented, finally getting back into eating now that she was. He himself would avoid his family as much as possible, choosing a place far off where he wouldn't have to deal with them. He didn't hate them. He never would be able to, but sometimes things got too stressful among his family and he just needed distance. Holidays were normally alright, although he would be skipping this year's Christmas, but he just simply couldn't handle them. Specifically his own brother. "I've always wanted to go to Fiji, but my family never got the chance to do anything like that. You and I should go someday."
He frowned at her remaining food, but knew he wouldn't be able to convince her to continue eating. At least she had eaten, that much he was happy about. He always tried to keep his eye on her, making sure her weight was becoming healthier as the days went on. He finished his last bite, leaving the fork in the now empty container and sliding it away from him on the counter.
"I'm dreaming of a green Christmas," he sang halfheartedly under his breath, glaring out the window at the flakes that were piling up on the ledge. "How do you like the snow so much? It's... wet. And cold. All ot does is inconvenience you when you want to go anywhere."

(Awe, bless your soul :) But I won't ask you to listen to my issues - I'm sure you have your own. I actually am - just for the past eight years or so. When i was a wee lass, i visited a farm and watched a cow get slaughtered after i took a wrong turn. Still freaks me out, still can't do meat. )
Ki-Ki tipped her head, thinking about the question as she tapping her fingers on her knees - a habit from hours at a piano, writing a song for a band or simply for the joy of music. She had an answer - it was words she didn't have.
"Snow is wet, cold, and inconvenient, yes, I agree. But it's also a sign to kids everywhere that things change. If the sky can bleed ice, then things can get better for them. It helped me when i was a small lass, whenever Mum and Dad would scream. I just thought about winter, hoping for snow. Also, it's great to pack into a ball and throw it at unsuspecting friends," She lightened her explenation with her signature quirky smile, a twinkle of humor in her eyes. Standing up, Ki-Ki set the forks on the sink before tucking her left-overs in his fridge for the time-being, and tossing his empty box in the rubbish.
"What do you do, mate, chew on your forks?" She poked fun at Rafe as she scrubbed the silverware with a small streak of warm water and a bit of soap. His forks had nicks and scratches - nothing bad, just amusing to look at. "Silverware is meant to transfer food from plate to mouth - not take up a temporary residence," she teased, hugging Rafe from behind around the shoulders, her hands dry after patting them down with the hand towel, but still warm from the hot water.

( I am too! For a little over a year now. It's not nearly as bad as that, but I did encounter some farms that made me extremely upset. It's kind of hard considering the rest of my family still eats meat. )
It was a blanket of snow as far as he could see, gathering on every surface it could without melting. Rafe frowned, eyebrows furrowing slightly as he watched it fall. When he was a child, he was always hoping for the sun on a warm day. Riding his bike away from the house was always the easiest way for him to deal with his family's problems, and if he didn't have that, he found himself stuck inside with every little battle they decided they needed to fight. He couls relate to the feeling, now that he was thinking about it, but he would never gain those positive emotions from the snow. "I guess..." was all he said, finally tearing his attention away from the window.
"You know," he followed up, moving to stand in front of Ki-Ki as she was finishing with the dishes, an amused look on his face, "You don't need to wash my dishes every time you come over. Sometimes it's okay to just-" He reached forward, wrapping his hand around hers momentarily before gripping the forks, pulling them from her hand and dropping them back into the sink, standing in her way so she couldn't reach for it, "-leave them sitting there for a while. It seems that no matter how many dishes need to be done, you're always doing them. I'm not a slob... most of the time."

Ki-Ki arched a brow, a silent challenge to his words. She would have spoken it outright if he wasn't so dang close, making her heart pound in her chest. Instead of showing just how nervous his close stance made her, she gave him a droll Yeeeaaaah, I doubt that kinda look. However, she didn't reach for the dishes again, opting instead to take a step closed and wrap her arms around his waist, her cheek pressed to his upper chest. Standing up, she couldnt quite get to his shoulder - which drove her crazy.
"Yet you have dozens of dishes in your sink every time I come over," Ki-Ki finally said, starting to snicker as she remained close to Rafe with a small smirk. "You know you'd be lost without be cleaning your kitchen," She snickered again, the laughter easily felt against his chest as she hugged him loosely. "Dork," She affectionatly insulted him mildly, her soft tone making it clear that she meant no harm.
(I'm actually at a college dorm, with a dorm to myself - so really, it's not the tricky for me. My scholarship helps me save plenty for organic foods too, so i think i'm doing alright. I came up from 200-700 calories a day to a bit over 1500 - within the last half year or so. I highly recomend avacado, if you're missing meat at all - it has some similar nutrients and will cut the craving. And don't worry you're way ended up cuter and i almost screamed "SHIP SHIP SHIP" out loud but i didnt so i mean)

( Let me just take a moment to recover from just how ADORABLE this is. I love them. I never really like avocado to be honest, but the last time I had it was before I became vegetarian. Maybe I should give it another try. )
Her arms wrapped around his waist, and Rafe felt a rush of embarrassment fill him as his heart began to speed up just as she placed her head on his chest. All he could do was hope that she hadn't noticed the change, taking in a deep breath to try and gain a feeling of calm once more. He placed his hands on her back, returning the embrace and holding her close, his grip on her tight and secure.
"You just come at the wrong times," Rafe defended, ignoring the way his hair was beginning to fall on his forehead again to keep his arms around her. "It's not always like that. Sometimes there are half a dozen dishes in the sink. It's a reasonable mess." He leaned back slightly to look at her, a smile forming. "I do appreciate it though. It... definitely means a lot."

Ki-Ki practically glowed as Rafe wrapped his arms around her securely, a happy glow. She didn't seem to notice his heart rate speed up - maybe because she was too busy he wouldnt find her own racing pulse. "A reasonable mess?" Ki-Ki laughed again, an actual laugh - not a quieted snicker or a giggle. As Rafe leaned back to look at her, an actual smile forming, she grinned up at him.
"It's just a few dishes," She said fondly, reaching up to swipe away some loose hair for him, knowing he disliked it in his face. "I just do what i can to take things off your shoulders - even if it's just a few dishes. Don't think i don't know that the four hours of sleep you got today with me was the most youve had in a long while; i know you;re pushing yourself. Just... anything else i can do, let me know. Okay?" She said, tipping her head slightly to the side with a soft grin, almost shy.
(I KNOW. This is too cute. I can't stop giggling. Ugh, i am a COLLEGE PERSON, i need to grow up and get over characters who have better love lives than me. Try it again - maybe on a salad or a sandwich. Plain avacado is never that good.)

( I'm finally on my laptop! I feel that so hard, although I'm not quite in college yet. I'm assuming that you do live in England with some of the things you've put in here. I'm the same age, but I'm still finishing up high school. I don't feel bad though. Anyone would find these two adorable. )
Rafe's expression dropped sightly as she brought up his sleep schedule, looking ashamed of himself. It was something he never meant for her to find out about, but he wasn't about to lie to her and say that he slept more than he actually had. He knew that she would never believe him anyway. "Alright," he finally accepted, not wanting to worry her any more than he already had. "I'll let you know. You have to do the same though." He didn't mention how he noticed that she was still avoiding eating at times, but he was hoping that she would understand what he meant.
There was a sudden feeling deep in the pit of his stomach. He wasn't afraid to admit that she was beautiful, but now there was something so absolutely adorable and stunning about her that seemed to take his breath away. He had kept his eyes locked with hers the entire time they had been staring at each other, almost hypnotized into keeping them on her. Now it had driven a deep desire in him to lean forward and capture her in a kiss, their position perfect for exactly that. It fluttered in him, almost causing him to do it until he realized what exactly the feeling that had consumed him was. Now it was time for the panic to set in. He said nothing as he dropped his arms, grabbing her arm and moving it away from him so he could slip out of her embrace, leaning against the counter where he originally sat. The smile was gone, but he kept himself looking content to not draw any suspicion to his actions.
"So... What do you want to do now?" He asked her, restlessly tapping his foot on the ground.

Ki-Ki sighed softly, but reluctantly agreed. "Alright," she said, her voice also a bit ashamed.
When Rafe moved away, a flicker of confusion flashed over her face. "Are you alright?" She asked you're welcome Rafe as she moved over o him, reaching up to touch his face with a concerned expression on hers, worry creeping back in. Not finding anything, she slowly let her hand drop, but lept up to sit on the counter besides him. "I need someone to look over something before i send it in...." That sentance was used with her I am but an innocent child, not suspicious what so ever. That meant...
"Can we travel back to my studio? I can't sell music if no one will like it but me," She said sheepishly, blushing slightly. Music was her main business - followed by art. Musicians dropped by to purchase music, no one too famous - Beyoncé has yet to show. However talented Ki-Ki may be with her instruments, or how her lyrics are written beautifully - she was always afraid that something was wrong, a note wasnt right. That it just wasnt good enough.
(Actually, i'm in America - came from Britain though. I'm attending BYU currently And oh my god Rafe go for it man you never know I cant argue with that - this OTP is so adorable. Tumblr would flip out.)

( Really? Ahhh. You're lucky. I can't wait to go to college and move out. I know I'm going to regret it as soon as I actually do move out, but for now I can dream.
Just take the chance, Rafe. Just do it. )
Rafe had to hold himself steady as Ki-Ki reached up to his face. It was an effort to not show anything, holding a steady face to try and keep her in the dark about the thoughts that had just raced through his mind. It had all been so overwhelming, filling him quickly and making it impossible to concentrate on anything else while she was still near him. He wasn't sure what was worse, the sudden intense emotion itself or the thought of the things his friends would say if they found out that they had been right about him the entire time.
He didn't turn to her as she sat next to him, keeping his head straight ahead and his arms crossed over his chest. "You know I like anything you do," Rafe told her, although he knew that wasn't entirely true. He did love everything he did, but he was also on of the few people who was ever brutally honest about anything and everything that was wrong with something. If you needed something criticized, Rafe was the man to go to. "I see no problem going. I would offer to drive, but I don't think my car is going to hold up with the snow on the ground. I wouldn't be worried about it if I were you though. All of your music is fantastic. Has anyone big asked you for anything yet?"

Ki-Ki sighed quietly, "Yeah... sort of. A german rock artist touring through the country - Xandria, I think it was? She wants an orchestral goth song - I don't have the instruments to write it at home, unless I want to use the piano... which I don't." Ki-Ki rubbed her face, one of the few signs of her stress. "I already have the lyrics and a base melody - but it's being bought in a week and I can't find a violin or viola to use for the life of me." With a soft push, she jumped off the counter, landing on her feet. "And Beyoncé called," She joked with a cheeky grin, trying to erase any hints of her stress and weariness. An inside joke between the two friends - Beyoncé was disliked by Ki-Ki, who prefered a different style of music; from Melanie Martinez to Pierce The Veil and Black Veil Brides. Regular pop didn't cut it. "She says hello."
She padded towards the sitting room, her peacock-blue hair rustling as she glanced around for her phone, picking it up from the coffee table. She had a missed call from her brother, and she unlocked the screen as she walked back into the kitchen. On voicemail, she put it on speaker and played it - mostly because she didn't want to hold it. Her brother thick scottish accent rolled from the speakers. Oi wee lass, I been trynna telle yeh for bonchos- tam me whe' yehr fresh, aye wee lassy. I love yeh.
Ki-Ki closed her phone, placing it on the table before affectionately head bumping Rafes shoulder/chest area, not quite tall enough to get his shoulder. "...Beyoncé has an interesting accent." She joked, but only to hide the pang of homesickness her brothers message. She was very close to her older brother, and not being in the same country hurt her greatly.
(You'll get there! It's really lonely at first, but you get used to it quickly.)

( Me: //listens to Beyonce now// Sorry it seems short. )
Rafe had to resist the urge to laugh, a quick snicker escaping him despite his efforts. "An orchestral goth song. I don't think you've ever asked me to review one of those for you before." He hadn't lied about liking everything she did, but there were some genres of music that he disliked more then others. He was always more of a hip-hop kind of person, although he could admit some pop songs could catch his interest. Especially Beyonce, who was one of the few pop singers he actually enjoyed. At the mention of her name, Rafe placed a hand on his heart, smiling as he stared off into the distance. "She knows I exist," he said, faking an awestruck tone. "It was about time she acknowledged me."
The voicemail shifted the atmosphere, just enough for him to know that it had affected her in some way. He smiled down at her, expression soft as he put his hand on her arm. "We should get you to your place so you can finish up what you need to for the music. It'll be nice to get out of my house anyway. We spend too much time here."

(*Listening to blasted-from-the-amps-loud heavy metal* .... xD No worries, it's fine. I still can't get over how cute they are i literally just screamed into my pillow ugh I'm hopeless
Ki-Ki sighed, smiling wearily as she took his hand from her arm and put it on the side of her face, covering it with her own, much smaller hand. "Yeah, but... okay, yeah, I have never been asked to write one before. Help," She grinned, her usual quirky smile as she pulled away from his touch, letting his hand drop. "Please, The queen Beyoncé knows all, you've said yourself." Pulling on her fur-lined boots, left by the sitting area couch, she shut off the TV. With a quick pace, Ki-Ki padded back into the kitchen and retrieved her coat, wallet and phone, the latter items delving into the pockets of her coat as she slipped her arms in, her earmuffs in hand.
Placing the earmuffs on the table, she huffed tiredly and nudged Rafes arm around her, the message clear: Touch-Me-Love-Me-Thank-You. She pulled away after a moment, grabbing his heavier jacket - with a hood - and handing it to him. She bit her lip, trying to bite back her giggles (and failing) as she suddenly reached out, plopping her earmuffs over his head. "Adorable," She teased, before flouncing towards the door in a escape attempt of the revenge that may or may not be coming.

( I started getting so giddy halfway through reading it and got questioned by a few people about what was making me like that. They are so cute. Also, I hit a few wrong buttons and almost lost this entire thing that I just wrote out. I was going to cry if I had lost it. )
"Queen Bee does know all," Rafe told her, stating it as an indisputable fact. Disappointment flashed in his eyes for a mere second when she dropped his hand before it was gone. He wouldn't let himself get caught up in these feelings. It wouldn't end well for him, and he was willing to simply let it disappear on its own. Intrusive thoughts were common, and that's exactly what this was going to turn out to be. There was not use worrying about something that was going to be gone the next day.
He was slower than she was when it came to getting ready, putting his heavy black boots back on and grabbing his wallet and keys without even thinking about his heavier jacket, almost walking out in his light pullover once more until Ki-Ki handed it to him. With a quick thanks, he shrugged it on over his other jacket. Given how he felt about the snow, he was going to need both of them to keep him from complaining the entire way there. He glanced down to fix the way the way it was situated, lifting his head again just in time for Ki-Ki to slip her earmuffs over his ears.
He hadn't removed them when he chased after her, catching her just outside the door in the snow. His arms instinctively wrapped around her waist from behind to stop her, pulling her against his chest and leaning his head down so it was more even with hers. Instead of doing anything of revenge back to her, he pulled his phone out from his pocket, quickly swiping to the camera and holding it up so they could see themselves. "Not bad," he commented, smiling brightly as he tried to not laugh at his own appearance. "However, I think you-" he pulled the earmuffs off of his head, sliding them onto hers with hand he held the phone in, his other arm still wrapped around her waist, "-look far more adorable in them than I did." He held the phone up again as if to show her that he was right before snapping the photo. Rafe was never one for taking photos, especially not with himself in it, but he wasn't going to let such a good one slip away from him. Especially with how amazing Ki-Ki had looked. He pulled away from her, looking over the photo as he turned around and locked the door to his apartment. Quickly making it his new phone background, he turned the screen off and slid the phone back in his pocket.
"Alright," he told her, finally calming down, the smile gone from his face yet again, "Let's get to your place."

S C R E A M I N G Oh my god this is so precious i cant breathe i'm so happy ugh. I'm so happy you managed to save it! So cute oh my god i can't breathe.)
Ki-Ki squealed when he caught her around her slim waist, instinctively scrabbling to find a hold in case he lifted her up. However, once he pulled up a camera, she started giggling again, her face lighting up like the Christmas tree in the neighbors window. SHe giggled more when she saw the earmuffs on him, biting her lip as she tried to contain the massive round of giggles, squirming slightly as his fingers tickled her side - her very ticklish side.
She pulled a goof face at the camera, sticking her tongue out and puffing her cheeks, but when Rafe slipped the earmuffs back over her own ears, she giggled again, her face breaking back into the sweet smile she had, when it wasnt mischievous or quirky. Her laughing smile, loose hair rustled by the wind and her gloved hands clinging to his arm even as she felt perfectly safe, was the picture now gracing his phone background. "You can call me adorable all you want," She said cheerfully, "but I will never forget you in a pair of fluffy earmuffs," She snickered, slipping her arm through his as he turned away from the door.
Soon enough, they were at her studio building - a rather nice place, with slightly larger rooms made for artists and musicians. Pulling Rafe inside the comfortable lobby, she flashed her ID and waltzed straight into the elevator with Rafe, snickering at a terrible pun she told("What's the difference between a cat and a comma? A cat has claws at the ends of its paws, and a comma has a pause at the end of its clause!").
(I screamed into my pillow and my neighbor just knocked on my door asking if i was okay. She laughed so hard i think she's choking next door.)

( Oh my gosh That's amazing. Your poor neighbor. I'm honestly going to scream too if these two don't stop being so adorable I'm never going to stop making them adorable I'm dying. These two are actually going to kill me with how adorable they are. "Are you two dating yet?" "No. I've told you a thousand times that she's just a friend." "Rafe, have you even seen your phone background?" )
"Puns that awful should be banned," Rafe muttered under his breath, shaking the snow from his hood as he stepped into the lobby and rubbing his hands together for warmth. He was thankful to finally be out of the cold, and while the jackets had done a lot to keep him from freezing to death, he would rather be inside of a heated building than standing out in that horrible weather for much longer.
By the time they got to her studio, he had removed his arm from hers and taken off his jacket. Leaning against the wall near her door, he waited for her to get out her keys and open it, not as willing to dig into her pockets and fish them out like she had to him. He ran his hand along his jaw, frowning slightly when he realized he needed to shave. "Is there anything I need to be careful of when we go in?" He questioned. "I don't want to step in paint again."

"Green was flattering to your skin tone," was all Ki-Ki responded with, a sly grin on her face. She turned the deadbolt on her door and pushed it open, letting Rafe in to witness a artistic hurricane disaster.
Oil pastels of all shades piled on the top shelf of her art studio, visible through the huge entry way. Paints, oils, pencils and brushes, blenders - it all was laying across a long, slim table protruding from the wall, a few easles set up around the room. One was in the corner, covered by a easle cover - a piece she would be ridiculed for by friends, maybe Rafe. Many people asked her what it was, including Rafe, and she never answered. Her living room, however, was as neat and organized as ever. Soft furniture around a fireplace/TV, her kitchen nearby with the same cleanliness. However, it was The Wall that really took everyone by shock. An entire wall, blank - or, rather, previously blank. Ki-Ki had taken the liberty to paint over it, producing a stunning array of Van Gough "Starry Night" and modern galaxy patterns, music bars and notes flowering through the entire thing. All the different elements should have clashed, but they seemed to blend in together flawlessly.
A lovely, block-polished piano rested against the wall on the far side - sheet music covered a stand next to it, pencils lay over the divots for holding paper. Her guitars - electric and accoustic - rested in stands, both black, shining pieces of equipment. A few other instruments - a flute case, a harp in her bedroom further back in the studio. "Yep," she said cheerfully, picking her way gracefully through her studio to get to the living area, "Still messy, but the floors clean." She hung her jacket on a coat holder, her earmuffs resting on top and her gloves tucked into one of her coat pockets. She bee-lined to the piano, running her fingers over the keys, worn dull by hours of playing.
(Please don't I don't know what i'd do without this moment of fangirling "She's your background. Y'know who does that? COUPLES." "Guys, leave him be...." "So you like him too?" *Blushing and stammering* "Of course not...?" "Was that a questionable answer, Ki-Ki?" "FIGHT ME.")

( We're going to get through all of this fluff, and then omething really depressing is going to happen. I just know it. "Friends have photos of friends as their backgrounds. It's not uncommon." "Why don't you ever put me as your background photo then?" "I don't like you." "HA." "WAIT THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT" "HE ADMITTED IT." "//screaming heard from 15 miles away//" )
Rafe kept his gaze glued to the ground as he passed through just to be sure that he wasn't going to step on anything. He still had horrible memories of times when he would be walking through without paying attention, only to find himself stepping in something that she had lying around. Not to mention he accidentally knocked paint over from a table onto himself. He tried to forget that as much as he possibly could, but he could still see it crystal clear in his mind every time he walked through the area.
He followed her over to the piano, hitting a few random keys while he stood next to her, hoping to create something out of it. When none of them flowed together, he back away in defeat, not wanting to mess up anything Ki-Ki had going on. He wa more of a guitar person anyway, but his knowledge on that was limited as well to only a few songs that he had learned well enough to remember for a few years. Thinking over every note in his head, he was fairly certain he could still play Hotel California flawlessly, even if that was the only song he could play. He had wanted to continue learning, but circumstances made it hard for him, and eventually he just quit the instrument all together. He once played Hotel California for Ki-Ki one of the first times he had come over, and when he was asked to play another song, he barely fumbled his way through Aerosmith's Dream on.
He left her side only to hang his jacket up, coming back and standing beside her a moment later. "Alright. Let me hear what you have so far."

Ki-Ki perched delicately on the Piano bench, brushing her hair from her face with a hand. It fell right back where it was, but she opted to ignore it for the time being. Placing her hands on the keys, she started to play what she had so far. Slurring the notes with a eerie back-tone, the melody seemed to come straight from a secret part of Ki-Ki she rarely showed, the side she did so well ignoring - sadness, fear, bewilderment. Her music intensified, Ki-Ki ignoring the sheet music in front of her - she had it memorized by now. Her hands moved hypnotically over the classic black and white keyboard, sometimes skipping entire octaves with two notes.
WHen the music hit the climax, Ki-Ki was pulled into the song as she always was, feeling as if she would be absorbed into the notes as she played. Her expression softened, even if the song was eerily solemn. Definitely goth - could definitely be a base melody. As the music decrescendod, the notes went back to slurs - the sound of each note fading together, slowly fading away, left Ki-Ki back in the real world, her mint green eyes openening. She didnt realize she had closed her eyes, but apparently so. She turned towards Rafe, a bit sheepish as always. "Base melody is alright...." She trailed off, uncertain with herself. The self-doubt was clear across her expression.
(....Oh no.... No no no no more heartbreak xD *Ki-Ki blushing to death, hiding her face in her hands* "KI-KI AND RAFE SITTING IN A TREE" "I will paint your house pink." "K I S S I N G" "I'll take your cat." "FIRST COMES LOVE" *Ki-Ki gives up and automatically hides her face in Rafes shoulder, not realizing what shes done till everyone riots* ..... i have a feeling we're going to put these poor children through hell)

( "THEN COMES MARRIAGE" "She may threaten to paint your house pink, but I will paint it red with your own blood. Do NOT test me." It will be a rollercoaster that the two of them aren't allowed to get off of. )
Rafe sat down on the bench beside her, careful to not get in the way of any keys she would need to reach. He followed her hands as she began to play, watching with great interest as they moved gracefully to create the melody, taking in every note. It was something so different from what he was used to hearing from her, and while he did know of the occasional slow and intense music she would do, nothing seemed to be quite as deep and moving as the piece she was playing for him now. He could sit there and watch her play for hours upon hours without ever growing bored or tired.
His gaze trailed up her arms, eventually coming to rest on her face. A peaceful look had overcome her, something he didn't normally see on her unless she was asleep or occasionally while she was playing a song for him. The music combined with her beauty seemed to put him into a trance. All he could focus on was those two thing until the music became nothing more than a background noise. It enhanced everything about her, making her brighter and bolder to him. Then suddenly her eyes were open and she was staring back at him, as if waiting for him to say something. A few more moments passed of him locked onto her, saying nothing and showing nothing, a the dazed and awestruck expression eventually tapering away into a blank stare.
"Oh..." he finally said at last. "That was... really good. Amazing. It was amazing." He was still staring at her, and now he turned away, letting out a deep breath and trying to pretend he hadn't been silently staring at her like an idiot. "I loved it. It's not something I usually hear from you."
( I really want this to develop, but I'm always overcome with the urge to just make him kiss her. I need them to be happy. )

Poor people x3 i'm going to SCREAM when they get together. Ugh this is too cute. It's like... sickeningly adorable but to a point you cant stop xD)
Ki-Kis heart raced as she looked down at the keys, waiting for an answer. She was nervous, jittery - fidgeting in her seat, her leg brushing his. The high praise came to her a surprise, turning her head to look at him. There was something going through his mind, something deep and personal. Curiously tugged in her gaze, but she clammed it down.
"Says the man who dislikes gothic music," She poked light fun at him, bumping him with her shoulder as she plinked out a few sweet notes, a haphazardly lovely tune. She had the ability to create something magical from a few things - be it a cup, making her own rhythm, or a piano, she had the ability to pull music from out of thin air. "But thank you," She said quietly, her eyes back on the keys and a soft smile on her lips, expression relaxed as she plinked out the beginning notes to "Welcome to the Black Parade" by MCR. "It means a lot, to hear something I write turns out well." She leaned into Rafe, resting her head on his shoulder and taking his hand, placing it on her thigh and tracing the age line on his palm with her finger.
That expression was back - a deep thoughtfulness, paired with fondness. She traced his palm, his fingers - for no apparent reason, maybe just a tie to reality. Thoughts passed and whirled in her mind, piecing together words only to break them up for better, followed by music notes or a splash of paint, a written line as a plot idea. She blinked, breaking herself out of her trance and humming shortly, still tracing his hand. "Thank you for all you've done," She said quietly, then cleared her throat a bit awkwardly, releasing his hand to stand and pull him gently with her, plopping onto the couch and taking him with her, claiming his arm over her shoulders again. She was loosing herself to her ideas again - fading back into deep thought as she traced the lines on his other palm, the opposite from the arm over her shoulders.
(Dude... what if one of them just popped by with plane tickets to somewhere for Christmas. Rafe could use that as a golden opportunity please be happy my children it will all be over soon i'm sorry )

( Njnfuefnijqenfuenfvf Rafe bringing her tickets to London as her gift because he knows how much she misses being there. )
"I don't like gothic music," Rafe responded quickly, still not bringing himself to face her. "This was just different. It was... What's the word?" He scowled, pounding down on a few of the keys so they made a deep, vibrating sound. "Nevermind." He was doing his best to keep from making himself sound dumber than he already was, but failing miserably. He reached forward now with his free hand, copying most of the keys Ki-Ki had played for the Black Parade before messing up, pulling back once he made the mistake. Once he paused her tracing, grabbing her hand with the one she held and giving it a light squeeze, opening it back up afterwards to let her continue. "Everything you do turns out well. You can say it doesn't, but it does. I've liked everything, and I'm not exactly fond of mot music genres."
He finally turned towards her, leaning his head against hers. "You do way more for me than I do for you. I should really be thanking you." He let himself be taken over to the couch, pulling her closer to him when she placed his arm around her. He tried not to let the touch affect him too much, focusing on the piano still to keep himself from being totally captivated by her.

(iujwboifbojnouwibjgbionvouinbw *Death* I can't breathe I'm so happy, my professor thinks i'm dying!)
Ki-Ki let out a soft hum of absentminded acknowledgement, her thoughtful gaze drifting over her wall, the colors blending together with a warm glow. Her eyes caught onto the glow-in-the-dark paints used to make the nebula light of the galaxy, the swirling sky of Van Gough and stars. She half-layed easily against him, tucking her legs up besides her and leaning against his chest, her meager weight resting against him. She continued tracking his palm lightly, her thought far away
With a soft kovement, Ki-Ki reached over to the stand next to her couch, tapping a button on a small, flat remote. The lighting faded, the wall coming to life with glowing red, purple, blue and greens, lighting the room with surpring light. Her curtains were usually closed, since the windows faced the busy area of the city, and the low lights helped secure the soft colors over Ki-Kis pale skin, her hair appearing a dull blue-violet in the strange lighting. Oops sorry Rafe for the suddenly dark room I hope you dont die She turned around to face Rafe, her eyes still holding a few distant thoughts as she leaned up and kissed his cheek, like she's done a million times before. "Still. Thank you," She settled back against his side/chest, bringing the tracing up his wrist and over his forearm, back to his palm, a slow and soft continuous pattern.

( They would just be offhanded comments about it, although they both really wanted to go there. "It'd be nice to go to London and see my brother. It's been a while." "There's a guy in London looking for a partner. He's really well known. It would be great if I could go there and see about getting the position."
Rafe hated this. He hated how much she always seemed to be latched onto him, as if she couldn't go without having his arm around her for more than 10 seconds. He hated the way she curled into him, always seeming to manipulate him into a position so she could trace his skin or lay her head down on him. He hated how nice it felt to have her do this, to just lie there with her and not have to say anything. He hated how attached he was becoming to the feeling.
Things were dark and quiet, making his heartbeat seem that much louder. His face heated up when she leaned forward and kissed his cheek, something she had done in the past, but had never had any sort of effect on him before. At least it never had an effect that he could feel physically. It was the only time he was thankful for the darkened room. He wanted to tell her that they both knew he would do anything for her, but instead all he replied with was, "Anytime." He sat still, as if afraid to move and speak, which in a way he was. The lights were dancing on her skin perfectly, and he didn't want to mess up what he was seeing in any way.
(You are killing Rafe. Slowly and surely. )

At first I was going to get angry at Rafe, just a little, before I realized he just hated falling for her.... oopsies, hehehe. muahahaha I reign supreme now )
Ki-Ki quietly traced his arm for a few more minutes, her eyes roaming over the glowing galaxies and stars on her wall. She stopped tracing his arm and palm, sitting up to turn and face him. "Rafe, are you alright? You're acting off, mate," she said quietly, eyes glinting with concern as she places her hand on his face, worriedly scanning for what was bothering him. "You can tell me anything - you know this."
She felt the flush under her palm, and worried that he was coming down with a fever, but didn't say anything about it. She did, however, glide her fingertip across his forehead gently, feeling for sickness. The glowingly nebula behind her reflected off her hair a bit, her mint green eyes revealing what could only be seen in bright sunlight or the glowing colors at her home - silver streaks, caused by a rare genetic combination: heterochromia. "You've acted strange the past while, since we left your home... what's going on?" She let her hand drop, one resting on his wrist and the other in her lap.

( You might get angry at him still. With how this is turning out, he might do some very regrettable things. )
It was the question he didn't want to hear now. Rafe kept eye contact for only a second before he turned away, keeping himself occupied with the lights. He forced a smile during this time, trying to keep her from worrying about it. He couldn't tell her this, even though she was the only person he ever trusted to know about his personal life. How would she react if he told her what exactly he was thinking? Even if he did tell her, was now the right time to do it? Probably not.
"I'm fine," he urged. "Really. I don't feel like I've been acting any differently. Maybe you're just imagining it." he knew he as being harsher than he should have been, but it was the only way to put an end to the whole thing. He shifted so he sat lower on the couch, hoping the conversation would end there. He looked everywhere but where she was, the lighting making his dark eyes appear darker.
( Agh Sorry it's so lame. I'm being yelled at. Give me 15 minutes and I'll be free for the rest of the night. )

(I am so sorry for vanishing - it's finals week and i had several today... I was so tired i passed out for a few hours)
Ki-Ki was silent, studying his face before sighing softly. "Okay," She said quietly, running her hand along his jawline affectionately as she let her arm drop, curling back against his side with a resigned expression. "Maybe I am imagining it...." She trailed off, reaching out for his hand. She pulled his hand into her lap, resting on her thighs as she continued her absentminded tracing, focusing on the inside of his wrist with gentle fingers. Noticing Rafe was avoiding her gaze, Ki-Ki let it slide; something rarely done. Whatever was wrong, it was personal, and she wasnt one to delve into that unwelcomed.
Hoping to change the atmosphere, she glanced up at him, the silver in her eyes more and more aparent as the green glow-in-the-dark paint slowly lost light, leaving the blue dominant. "Any plans for the holiday?" Ki-Ki asked, leaning her head against his shoulder as she traced cursive letting into his arm with long, sweeping movements, her signature. "Or do I get the pleasure of keeping you captive this year?" She gave a small, quirky smile.
