( maybe one more day of school? the scenario could repeat itself, only more awkward this time since it's happened before, and then finally Theo could ask to see Xander during the weekend to get his answers? )

( no problem! )
The day ended just like the previous one had - with Theo walking out of a class he'd been pretending not to pay attention to, going to the parking space where his motorcycle always was and getting ready to leave. He placed his helmet on and slung his bag over his shoulder so that it would stay on comfortably. He sighed heavily as the parking lot filled up, driving slowly through it like he always did.

Xander exited the doors of the school. Walking slowly, like always, Xander was less than eager to make it home. He kept his head low as he walked and his shoes made a soft thud on the ground.

Theo passed Xander, much like he had the day before. Only this time, he was the one who was hyperaware of the other boy, and the fact that he was not watching him today. That bothered him. He had hoped to use it as an excuse to talk to him again, see if he couldn't get some more answers. It seemed not. So he just drove towards the boy, slowing down as he reached ear-shot. He prayed he would not have to make another trip, and that he'd be noticed.

Xander could hear the motor of a motorcycle coming closer to him slowly. Knowing that it had to be Theo, he forced himself to keep his eyes on the sidewalk a few feet infront of himself. He took slow, deep breaths to maintain his focus, there was no way that he was going to let the other boy know how weak he really was, or how much he really admired him.

So that was how it was going to be, huh? Theo pressed his lips into a tight line, certain that his next part was going to be so much more awkward for him than Xander. "You want a ride," he called, managing to keep the embarrassment out of his tone. It was important that nobody think he was embarrassed - even when he was - because that would ruin the care-free image he'd built. And while Theo didn't really give much thought to what other people thought of him, he thought it very important that he always came across as someone who didn't really care. Embarrassment was the opposite of that.

Xander's heart lept to his throat and he almost tripped over his own feet. His head shot up and he locked eyes with Theo. 'I knew it..' he thought to himself. His heart hammered in his chest as he made his way over to the bike. He didn't really know why Theo would offer him another ride, but he figured it sure beat riding the bus. He climbed awkwardly onto the back, still not able to do so smoothly. "Thanks." He said softly once he was on the back of the motorcycle.

"My god," Theo said as Xander hopped on. "I need to teach you how to do that." He took his helmet off and offered it to him, realising that if he was going to turn this into a habit (why would he turn this into a habit?) he really needed to invest in a second helmet.

"Hey! I'm a natural!" Xander tried to joke off his nerves as he pulled the helmet onto his head.

"Of course you are, my mistake," Theo returned in the same joking tone, giving Xander another moment before adding, "Am I taking you to the same place as yesterday or do you have somewhere else you want to go?"

"Same place." Xander replied as he settled into the same firm grip as the day before. He had a million laces that he would rather go, but he knew that the only place he could go was home.

Theo nodded and took off, speeding up as soon as he'd left the parking lot. He found himself wondering why someone his age would go straight home every day after school. Maybe Xander was one of those high achievers who spent all their time on schoolwork and had no time for anything else. He chewed on the thought as he drove, faster this time now that he knew the way. Sure enough, soon they were back at the kerb they'd stopped at the day before. "Last chance to go somewhere else," Theo warned, the engine still sputtering.

Xander held on tight the entire ride. When Theo offered him one last chance, he almost took it. Just as quickly as the temptation had come, it was replaced by images of his mother. Frantic and worried and grounding him for an entire month. "This is good." He answered quickly, before he changed his mind.

( silv - maybe! I was threelittlewishes (among several other names) on the old forums if that's where you remember me from. )
Theo nodded. He was silent for a bit then said, more carefully than he'd have liked, "Would you like to meet up this weekend or something? Get out of the house for anything other than school?" He was still curious about what had driven Xander to admiration, and he wanted to figure it out. To say that it was not for self-gratification would be a lie, but there was something else there as well.

"Uh- ya- sure!" Xander stammered out quickly, almost without thought as he removed the helmet and climbed off the bike. He couldn't place it, but something about Theo made him nervous inside. Not that Xander could say he disliked the feeling.

Theo nodded. Good. Being turned down would have stung. "I'll pick you up here then. I have to work Saturady morning and all of Sunday - I have bills to pay - so say Saturday at three?" He said all of this in a matter-of-fact tone, raising his eyebrows as an invitation to challenge the proposal rather than giving a 'sound good?' or something similar.

"Ya! That would be great!" Xander couldn't help it as the lie fell from his lips. NO! THIS IS NOT FINE! HOW ARE YOU EVER GOING TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE AT 3PM ON A SATURDAY! His brain was screaming at him to back out, but Xander couldn't help it. He found himself wanting to hang out with Theo, no matter the cost. He would find a way past his parents overprotective shadow.

Theo grinned. "Great," he said, placing his helmet onto his head again. "I'll see you then." He raised his hand in farewell and then clmibed onto his bike. He nodded, a final goodbye, then turned back and drove off, letting himself skip out on three more minutes of awkward conversation. Nobody deserved that.

Xander waved goodbye to Theo before tunring to walk down the street to his house. 'Now to convince mother to let you out of the house alone this weekend.' He thought to himself as he entered the house. (Time skip?)

( sounds good! )
Theo had spent his entire day working. He didn't enjoy the work he did - it was tedious and the customers were awful - but it paid the bills with money to spare. Besides, what else could he expect when he didn't even have his high school diploma? The real work would come later, after high school and college, if things went his way. As such, he didn't complain, but his exasperation was always clear on his face for an hour after he left.
He pulled up by the kerb he'd stopped at twice before, still wearing the blue uniform of the telecom company he worked at. He was immediately frustrated that Xander hadn't shared his address. Now he'd have to wait for the other boy to arrive, and if there was one thing he couldn't do, it was waiting.

Xander had told his mother that he had a group project to do at the library. After a very long debate with her, he finally had her convinced that he did not need a ride. It was obly just down the street, he could walk. He headed for the front door, his mither following him all the way there. "Look both ways before you cross the street. Dont talk to stranger." And many more common sense advice was thrown his way. His shoulders didnt relax until he was out of his driveway. But even then, the butterflies in his stomach remained.
Xander spotted Theo as he rounded the corner. There were only a couple more houses separating them. Xander shoved his hands into the pockets of his jacket as he approached. "Hey."

Theo raised a gloved hand in greeting as Xander approached, relieved to find that he hadn't had to wait long. "Hey," he called back, unclasping his helmet as he did, a series of movements that were now almost familiar as the movements required to put it on. He'd been doing an awful lot of handing it off to people over these last few days. Or, person, at least. He really should invest.
"Mind if we stop by my flat before we go anywhere? I'm here straight from work, and I'd really like to get out of this awful uniform and into something that isn't hideous," he said once Xander was close enough to actually converse with.
