Also, whew, this chapter was quite the ride. The queen has been overthrown. I still can't believe Snow's dead now.
I've always thought she was the main "big bad" ( alongside Lionshadow, of course ), but I think she was a good stepping stone for Shadowface's desires and ultimate goal. I also love how dark this chapter is, lol; I'm kind of a sucker for grimmer stories, so this was quite the read.
I'm not sure if I have an exact favorite character, but Snow might just have to be my actual favorite character, if I really had to pick. Mainly because she's a good villain, in terms of motives, skills, and the way she's written. She's wickedly dulcet, eloquent, and manipulative, and since I have trouble writing solid "calculating baddie" characters, she's really motivated me. I can't wait to see how she came to be an antagonist, and what shaped her into the silver-tongued devil she is (or was, lol) now.
Eaglefrost and Shadowface's platonic chemistry is really well executed. Like, they stick together through thick and thin, and the way the look out for each other and protect one another explicitly in this chapter is really charming to me. It is so, so well written, and I love it -- something we need some more in stories.
The ancients sound super scary, and the imagery of what Shadowface could see of it/them made the atmosphere even more tense. Love it.
Also, Shadow -- I've already stared on your birthday present! It's... Well. I can't tell you -- surprise. But I will say this: it consists of a bunch of drawings. So, yep! I'm trying to get them all done in the span of a week or less, so it'll be a fun challenge for me. <3

I've just always known how she would die so it's like "come on guys she wasn't the main baddie!" but I can see why people are a bit shaken.

Eaglefrost and Shadowface have become the easiest characters to right, simply because their conversations come out so fluidly/naturally. I'm glad you have enjoyed them! They are pretty central to this story (their relationship).
The ancients are super creepy. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near them. o.e' OMG you spoil me!! ;-; <3 What's funny is that I'm going to be alone for my birthday (my parents are coming the weekend after and I have a field trip on the 10th) but I still have you guys so I'm not really alone. ^^' |

Mini update; I am 30 pages into chapter 36 and I plan on finishing it tomorrow night before I leave for the weekend on another camping trip for my igneous/metamorphic petrology class.
I'll be in Big Bend Ranch State Park camping near a geologic structure known as the Solitario. (check it out on google earth if you get the chance it is insane in both size and just the way it looks/was formed). I'm leaving Friday around 12:30 CT and will be driving out there with my class. We're expected to make it to our campsite before dark and then we're spending Saturday hiking around the area and taking measurements for a project and then we're leaving Sunday morning and should be back late Sunday afternoon/evening.
I'm pretty excited! I've never been to this park before!!
