You deserve it, Shadow. Curse is truly an amazing piece of work, and is something to be incredibly proud of. You've written a book. That's no easy feat. You really should be proud of yourself.

Hello friends o3o I hope you all enjoyed Halloween - it's on my bucket list to be in America for Halloween at least once. It looks like so much fun. it's not something really celebrated down here, I guess cause it only really works on the northern hemisphere. It's 6:30 at night and it was still 27 degrees outside when I took this photo from my balcony last night.

Shadz, I have a question.
If you could hear your characters voices, what would the cats of Curse sound like? What movie stars/cartoon characters/TV show characters ect. would they sound like?
Sorry if it's worded a bit oddly. I'm just curious. ;u;

Sorry if it's worded a bit oddly. I'm just curious. ;u; Oooh, I like this question. Well, firstly, I imagine Shadowface to have a rough feminine voice. One that's deep but not overbearing you know? I can't think of an actress off the top of my head, but that's the best I can imagine for her. I imagine Eaglefrost to sound a lot like Chris Hemsworth. <3 Rush sounds like Chris Pine (more friendly, lighter, with a comedic touch) Rush has a warm inviting voice. Darkmoon has a very cold, smooth voice with a slight accent (I'm not sure what kind; thinking russian or possibly irish haha). And, of course, Lionshadow sounds exactly like Benedict Cumberbatch. Because he has the juiciest voice.

» ѕнαdσω ⚔️ ;; Ooh, that's interesting! :0 Eagle has very nice voice~
Ah, and I forgot to ask; what time period is humanized Curse set in? And if there isn't a specific time, what would their clothing look like? Just so I can get a feel of what to sketch. ;v;

Mᴏᴏɴ - - - Yes, he does. x'D I have based the humanized Clans of the Valley off of Celtic and Viking cultures. So they wear leather armor mostly. Furs and leather. But the clans warriors, especially the prestigious ones, wear more metal, like iron breastplates or gauntlets and such.

» ѕнαdσω ⚔️You are one of the chief reasons why I decided to actually make an account here instead of remaining a lurker for the rest of my internet life. Hands down Curse is the best warriors fanfiction - heck, any fanfiction - that I've ever read, and, believe me, once I finished Curse (it took me two weeks but it was so worth it) I searched the internet for more quality writing like this. Either I'm a terrible researcher or nothing else is comparable to Curse. I really admire your description, as that is something I really struggle to bring out in my own writing. Character development is amazing - I felt like strangling Shadowface a few times but at the same time am intrigued by her. The mystery and action intersect beautifully, and the way you craft those cliffhangers...Finally the story itself. I know that you're planning on making this separate from warriors, and I think that is what sets this story apart from the others on the forums. The way you've taken the basic structure and concepts of the Warriors world and made them entirely your own is mind-boggling. So here's a simple thanks from a long-time fan of yours who has been stalking your threads from behind the scenes for about a year or two now. (Hopefully that didn't sound too creepy...) Anyway, after reading Chapter 30 I decided enough was enough and decided once and for all to make an account and let you know how much inspiration and contemplation your writing has given me. Looking forward to seeing you in print and chatting with you in the future! Splashy

@mintedstar/fur - I LOVE IT! :'O I love that background pic. Where did you find it?? Ooops, it says Sharks instead of Starks. x'D splashy - Wow, you have no idea how much your words mean to me. It helps a lot to get feedback from my readers, especially those who have watched me grow from the start. I'll admit, I squealed after reading your post. x'D I'm really honored you think so highly of Curse. At the moment this story is my biggest achievement, and I plan on reaching my goal - actually finishing the darn thing. I couldn't have done it without all the support though, so thank you. Even if it it took you a year or two to post, the thought that you were there reading Curse is more than enough. I am so happy it made you think and made you feel inspired. (': As anyone else here will tell you, I'm always willing to chat with my readers. If there is anything you've been burning to ask me, or have been wondering about, ect. in the last year or two, please ask away! It's great to finally meet you, Splashy! I'm looking forward to chatting with you as well.

Achievement unlocked: Talk to ShadowfaceAaaah this is really happening. Seriously though, I'll keep that in mind! Hmm, off the top of my head I have nothing (that isn't spoilers of course) but don't worry. As soon as I log off the forums I'll probably think of like twenty. Great to meet you too! Second Achievement Unlocked: Talk to DingoleapThanks! Glad to be here I love how you're comic is shaping up, by the way. OK, CURSE THEORY TIME Ok, I'm going to put this under a spoiler tag for the people who haven't read the whole thing yet. I don't think there are any spoilers, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Ok, so, lately I've been thinking a lot about Darkestday, and I've been trying to work out why he is still alive. By the rules of the curse, he should have been targeted specifically as both Cloudspots' brother and Nighthawk's son. According to the rules, he should be dead.
So somehow, Darkestday defied Curse logic. Then I started thinking about his eyes. He is unique as the Cursed cats, and as far as we know, his eyes have been silver since birth, unlike the Green Eyes, which appear around four moons or so. I'm convinced his eye colour has something to do with why he is still alive.
Then it hit me - Darkestday had grey/silver eyes, as if the colour had been leeched from his eyes. That made me think of the short story where Itzala absorbs her brothers curse and breaks the rules that are in place.
What if, by some genetic marvel - we already know that Shadowface has the right name and the right marking (but the wrong parentage) to break the curse - the part of the Curse that was supposed to affect Darkestday was somehow absorbed by someone else - Cloudspots, Nighthawk, Wanderer, etc - and given to Shadowface, much how Itzala absorbs Striker's curse in the prequel.
It may seem far-fetched, but on occasion, Shadowface has been known to produce yellow flames which seem to counteract the effects of the green curse. So, Shadowface, somehow, contains two curses, just like Itzala did. We know she had to get the yellow curse from somewhere, the same way Itzala did.
I'm sure there's also a prequel/one-shot somewhere where the last of the yellow-eyes Cursed is killed, so what if the gene that codes for the yellow curse then lay dormant within the Cursed bloodline until it was re-activated.
In short - Darkestday is still alive because Shadowface has somehow absorbed or counteracted the part of the curse that should have targeted him, allowing for her to contain two curses instead of one, like her (presumed?) ancestor Itzala.
We know time is cyclical in the Cursed world, with the same events reoccurring throughout different generations, so in theory it is possible, although unlikely.

splashy - Congrats on those achievements! x'D Haha, well I'm pretty much checking this page three times a week if not more, so please make yourself at home! I answer all questions; as long as it doesn't give away MAJOR spoilers for the last chapters of Curse or other stories in the series. Dingoleap - Daaaaaaannnnnnggggggg :'O I feel strangely flattered that you put so much thought into that theory! And now I'm going to make my own pointers and nudge you further along. *cracks knuckles* 1. You are very correct to think that Darkestday is special. Not only, as you and others have noticed, has he survived long past his "expiration date", but he also bears a strange eye color. Now let me point you to the start of chapter 17 where this very question is brought up between Ospreyflight and Stormshadow in StarClan. Both siblings have promised to watch over their remaining family to the best of their capabilities, so Stormshadow wonders if someone else in StarClan might also be watching out for Darkestday and Nighthawk (remember she outlived Cloudspots which was highly unusual). Ospreyflight then gets the idea to go hunt these cat(s) down by "setting StarClan on fire". So far, we haven't really gotten a result from her outlandish idea, BUT, if you can remember when that strange illness swept through the clan, (the illness that killed Nighthawk), Shadowface's sister Blackheart had also fallen ill at the end. It was Ospreyflight and Stormshadow who came to help her as they had promised to each other, and remember what they brought with them to help? It was the cat with the lynx tufts, and at the end of that chapter, it was pretty obvious that the help they had found was Eaglecurse. This leads to believe that MAYBE, Eaglecurse had something to do with those two oddities in the family since he was able to prolong Blackheart's stay in the Realm of the Living. 2. For the one-shot dealing with Itzala and her brother Striker: a transference of cursed powers must be done through a special ritual of sorts. (This isn't anywhere in any of my posted writing, this is just free floating knowledge that I can share without fear of giving away spoilers.) So if Darkestday's eyes somehow represent an "emptiness" of cursed power, then a ritual should have taken place, and Shadowface's eyes should show the result. Yet, both of her eyes are green while Itzala had green and yellow eyes. What does that tell you? 3. Concerning Darkestday's eyes: I know all of my readers who have read Dark Side of the Moon know that Darkestday is Spottedmoon's father. Spottedmoon also had those haunting silver eyes. But who else shares this iris color? Well, none other than our favorite baddie: SNOW. And what do we know about her? Somehow she has the ability to "control" cursed. So maybe Darkestday didn't "give away" any curse, but maybe he had a dormant one that came alive later down the line? Of course, it hasn't been confirmed that Snow is his granddaughter, but we can assume some sort of ties since their eyes are the exact same. 4. Now for the "yellow flames". I will show you exhibit S - "Rebel, Shadowpaw. Rebel against fate. It is the power that should have been yours." - Falconwing from chapter 15.
All of these questions will be cleared up by the time Curse ends. (':

I'm still working on your art, Shadz, but in the meantime, have this scene. It's when Snow ambushes MountainClan.
Honestly, I'm not quite satisfied with how this came out. I don't even know if the dialogue is correct. But I do hope you like it. ^w^"
Also, I understand that I'm taking a long time to get art done for you. I really want to do it, and I haven't forgotten, but for some reason I can never finish them up. I'm the one who offered to do it for you, and I feel like I'm going back on my word. So I'm really sorry for not being diligent with that. ;~;
I'll try to get something up soon, though!
