Marvel rp: Post-Civil War ENDGAME SPOILERS

Tom:
"Well, even if they didn't want any blank space," Tom noted, "it still seems like it would take an army to actually do all that decorating."
He didn't sound annoyed about that. Maybe slightly amused at most. There was a lot of things which he was willing to do if it was fun enough. To his mind, that was exactly what decorating was.
He reached into the box and started to take out several strands of lights. Then he started to work at untangling them. "We might have done better to start earlier with this, but we can certainly see what we can do. Anyone offering assistance, or am I a one-man decorating team today?"
He didn't bother to check in with Eveline - go figure - and there didn't seem to be a need to do anything more than keep his attention on the decorations that he was busy working out. That in and of itself was a major endeavor.
"Could always make it a race," he added. "Fastest decorator this side of the city." A single eyebrow arch accompanied this statement.

Eveline:
"That sounds like a good plan," Eveline said down to her notebook. "Would you like any help? You make it sound like you haven't done anything like that for a while, so I am interested in seeing how it would go."
It was the sort of interest that she didn't seem to pay a lot of people. Like Tom, however, she did seem to pay attention to the older things that Bucky and Steve seemed to mention here and there. Maybe this was just a way for her to connect a bit better with people that she really should have known more about by now. But that was up for interpretation by the observer.
"That is of course so long as you didn't want to rise to Tom's challenge," she said, though a hint of disapproval slipped into her voice. She knew how that would go. Tom would somehow find a way to risk life and limb. And not always his own. Eveline didn't think she wanted to be involved in such an action, so she had no intention of trying.

Mine are: Logan, Peter, John, Bucky, and Steve)

(Do it, do it! I am hyped!)

Steve:

"Well, we do make a pretty good army," Steve said with a shrug, his eyes looking around the room at the motley crew. They were the Avengers, after all. His eyes then trailed back to the stack of boxes. He did have to admit that it was impressive the amount of decorations they had. It must have been a compilation of the years. 

"I can't promise that it will be anything pretty," he added, "but I'll help. And we can make it a race, but I'm not in it for the glory." Which meant, he was in, but he probably wasn't going to move any faster than usual. Granted, if it was anything like running or fighting, he was probably going to be fast without realizing it, and he wasn't going to tire as quickly everyone else. 

Bucky:

"I wouldn't mind the help," Bucky said, offering a shrug. "The past few years... well, I don't know if you know who I am, but I haven't really been myself." His mind immediately went to the dark place that he'd been struggling to forget and make amends for. His lost memories. His time as Hydra's assassin. The attempt he'd made on his best friend's life. And then remembering, all the sudden, and realizing all the terrible things that he'd done. Hiding out, trying to stay away from the people he cared about and anyone that he could hurt. Being saved-- and then, just like that, being turned into a weapon once more--- and once more and once more---

Bucky's eyes were solemn as he stared back into the fireplace, something so mundane and normal. Some days it was easier to pretend that his old life was behind him, some days it was harder. 

He cleared his throat. "I'm always up for a challenge. You don't seem too interested in that, though, do you?" he questioned, tilting his head at her obvious disapproval. "I mean, what is it with you and Tom?"

Peter:

Peter lifted his head from his box of decorations. There was a piece of tinsel in his hair and lights around his neck like a boa. "I'm up for a challenge," he told the others with a devious grin. "Did I ever tell anyone about the little dance challenge that I initiated that saved the galaxy?" He laughed, and then he nodded to himself. He might not have celebrated an Earth holiday in a while, but he remembered the Christmas's he used to have with his mother, and he was a master decorator, if he did say so himself. Mortals, he thought. They have no idea who they're dealing with. I'm obviously going to win.


(I want to include Logan and John, but it's hard for me rpg so many characters xD)

Gamora:

In all honesty... Gamora didn't really have a clue what she was doing. Yes, she'd learned a fair bit about Earth and its holidays from her time spent there and some additional explanation from Peter, but as she picked through the contents of one of the many boxes of decorations scattered throughout the room, she was growing more and more lost. What were these lights for? Why was there so much glitter? Didn't any of these glass things ever break? It was exhausting. Peter was clearly doing a lot better than her at understanding.
Speaking of Peter, Gamora had stuck close to him within this unpacking session in case she was feeling too out of her element and needed to ask for more clarification. Now, she leant closer to him to pick the glittery string out of his hair—what was it called again?—and sighed. "Oh, don't mention it." That 'dance challenge'? A disaster. "I think 'saved the galaxy' is a bit of a stretch." It was a miracle how it had actually worked on Ronan.

Rocket:

A Christmas decorating race? That would end well. And of course Peter 'Up For A Challenge' Quill was all for it. And Rocket? Rocket was getting too old for this crap. But, oh, whatever. He'd escaped dozens of prisons, made bombs and blasters and gadgets from scraps, flown any ship like a pro, even (helped) fight off multiple galaxy-ending threats, how hard could this be? It wasn't like they would be scoring based on accuracy, right? Just speed. So, easy. Quill was so going down.
"And in case you forgot, Quill," Rocket added to Gamora's comment, "it was my Hadron Enforcer that knocked Ronan off his butt."

(aka: the way it should've been ;-; rip Vision)

Tom:

"Excellent!" said Tom, could could at least appreciate that some of the people here wanted to do what he had challenged them to. He didn't find himself very disappointed that Steve wasn't one of them. He'd think about it though, he really would. Huuuum. He'd actually started to think up some ideas. But he'd have to work on them a bit. Get help from a friend ...
That aside, he wasn't very concerned. He lifted a couple of decorative bobbles from a box, held them up to show Peter, Rocket, and Steve, and said, "Oh, I'm ready when the rest of you are. I have all the materials I need. Truly I'm just ready to see how this goes."
His eyes twinkled a bit. He was ready to try a couple things that might just be considered impressive, even by Rocket's standards.
Otherwise known as showing off. Which he could certainly hear Eveline huffing about. He didn't ordain to shoot a glare about that in her direction.

Eveline:

"That," said the woman with a small huff, "is a very long story. Most of it involves bodily harm. Mostly his. He's the sort of person who would juggle knives without knowing how, just to see if he could. Worse, really. He'd toss a couple knives at you to see if you could as well."
She shook her head.
"And I didn't want to deal with that. He'll start that act of his here as well, soon enough." He was warming up.
Her eyes blinked a bit with sympathy at the fire. For Bucky, that was. But sympathy, particularly without action, didn't do anything. So she stood up (still watching the fire) and walked over to the dial beside the fireplace. She turned it off. Then turned around and used her free hand to turn the fire in the fireplace back on again. Not once this time did she look at it.
"What would you like assistance with?" she asked the super soldier. "I'm all ears."
She stuffed her notebook and pen back into the bag she dragged around, then closed the bag, leaving it on the chair she'd been sitting in.

So, for the role-play, I can't remember when we started this, but we started doing a plot following Endgame, but we didn't get too far (it's been so long at this point... I can't remember if you were part of it or not. We might have stopped because we didn't want to get too far without you? I can't believe it's been a year o: ), so we put that on pause and then just had a bunch of holiday parties XD This is our second attempt at a Christmas party, haha.
I hope that school and all of your projects has been good! I'm sorry to hear that 2020 was tragic for you ): It definitely wasn't a year that anyone could have imagined ):

Is Borya still going to exist? I'm fine with you restarting your characters (: Just let me know if there's any history or anything so that if I do any flashbacks my characters can remember yours xD)

(Yeah, haha. We're kind of just doing whatever we feel like right now until we jump back into a main plot XD You can jump in with what we have now & then we can all talk together and discuss how we're going to go about our old/new plot! (:

& I'm sorry you had to set it aside and that it was bad for you. I hope everything is doing better now, and if you ever need to talk about anything, my pms are open.
I was hoping 2020 would be better than 2019, but I'm not sure that it was, whoops. The beginning of 2020 started out rough for personal reasons, and then all the covid stuff happened. But... even though 2020 was pretty rough (again, covid aside), I ended up finding things to get me through, and I made a little yearbook of the year that made helped me to highlight all the positive things (: So... yeah, it was... interesting. But I think I'm in a better place now.
