- Tailow (and presumably Swellow as well) was originally a pure flying type in the beta for Ruby and Sapphire, making it "technically" the first pure flying type.
- The unknown Pokemon that Red catches and later escapes from him in the Pokemon Adventures is likely to be a Diglett, since a lot of Pokemon were drawn off model in that manga, and the mystery Pokemon resembles how Diglett is depicted in later issues.
- Speaking of Diglett, it was technically the first Pokemon ever created, as it was created by Shigeki Morimoto (who is also the creator of Mew) when he was a child, long before the franchise was created.
- Also in the Pokemon Adventure's manga, instead of turning into a Pokemon, Bill turns into a anthropomorphic leopard (which looks more like some sort of mutant, Bill in general also looks very much different from his normal self since the manga was made very early on in Pokemon's lifespan) and his wife turns into a Mew.
- Khoury's Croconaw from the anime has a quiet nature (in the dub at least.) In An Egg Scramble, it is shown disliking its food which Brock describes as "too sweet" (in the original version he says it's not bitter enough.) and enjoying it after dry chesto berries are added to it.
- The most commonly used moves in the anime used by Pokemon that can't learn them in the games are Tackle and Gust.
- In the anime episode Enter The Dragonite, Drake's Dragonite knowing 10 moves (allegedly, since I can't find a citation on Bulbapedia) was intentional to make it seem more stronger and unstoppable.
- Team Rocket calling an Scyther a Alakazam in the first movie was left in by 4Kids because they felt like they would make that sort of mistake.
