So we have an update on 3DS online shutting down:
Online capabilities for mainline games (X/Y, SuMo, ORAS, USUM) such as GTS, online battles, and wonder trade will shut down on April 8th, 2024
Pokemon Transporter and Pokemon Bank will continue to function after that date and for the forseeable future.
I do still highly recommend transferring pokemon from past titles ASAP as it is entirely possible that things could shut down unexpectedly early.

I know lots of folks are thinking Gen 10, gen 2 remakes, or Gen 5 remakes/B3W3.
I’m inclined to believe we’re getting Johto remakes since, and correct me if I’m wrong, the OG Gold/Silver turned 25 recently. And more specifically, I think we’re gonna get Crystal remakes since the last early-gen remake was Let’s Go which were essentially Yellow remakes.
I’m lowkey hoping we’ll get some more content for SV. There’s like a whole section of the in-game map (not overworld) that has hatch marks like the crater so there’s gotta be something there.

Given the 2025 release date, could this game be released on the next-gen Switch console? It would seem almost fitting, since X and Y were the first mainline 3DS titles, and named after the new console’s biggest feature.

Gen 6 is still a modern game and they are just skipping over a whole generation of remakes.
I mean I hate gen 5 but the hope I had was that gen 5 would have modernized utilities and exp share so maybe I could actually finish it instead of drop it because the plot was boring and the grind was insufferable and had no payoff. i'm more than a little annoyed.

Very excited for the return of megas! I adore Gen 5, so honestly I'm kinda glad I can put off facing the horrors of a remake for another little while lol Gen 6 felt unfinished, so of any gen it's probably the one with the biggest need for another game.
