Harper had reluctantly gone with Woodrow and Rhapsody, but she didn't leave their sides. She sat, stood, and eventually lay down in front of them protectively. Her fur eventually lie flat, and her stomach rumbled after a long while. Her brown gaze scanned the room, not finding much of importance. She wanted to leave, but also knew that Woodrow and Rhapsody were her only company.

Woodrow whimpered as Harper sprawled out in front of him and Rhapsody. The floor was cold, and cold drafts tormented him from the sides and back. He wore a haunted look, as though traumatized by their experience with the Beast. And he was indeed traumatized. Unable to process that the Beast wasn't a real Human anymore, he was convinced that the People had turned against their primeval companions. And there was no reason for him not to believe this (aside from the obvious difference between Human and Beast). The People had always been unpredictable—Gladys, for example, always having heart attacks. Woodrow's eyes widened, showing the whites, as he remembered the sight of his elderly Safeguarded's putrefying corpse. Scared and sorrowful, he drifted off to the slow, steady tempo of Lad's raucous snores coming from one of the neighboring rooms.

Brimstone joins Lad in the office area to sleep. Lad is already asleep, and sprawled on the cubicle, legs running in a dream. Brimstone couldn't help but smile at the bony dog, as his legs scrabbled around on the cubicle. Curling around him, he licked his velvety ears, before letting his fluffy tail rest on Lad's chest. They were muzzle to muzzle, huddled together for any warmth that they could possibly find, the cold air permeating the rotting walls of the building.
The building would be an ample space for the dogs to start their pack, but eventually they would need to move into the woods, where they could have substantial prey to live. Brimstone was already beginning to work it out in his mind. Dogs would be sorted into ranks, according to what their specialties were. Of course, Brimstone didn't have any ranks in mind, he would refer to Lad for ideas when he woke.
Brimstone drifted off into a restless sleep, his breathing growing heavy.

Lad awakened to gloomy surroundings. He could sense that it was morning, notwithstanding the musty air that smothered the room. He rose up, the stiffness of his joints all too familiar.
He was getting old.
Then it struck him that he had turned five already. His birthday was when, the 37th day of Sadama, autumn? And how old was he now, 5 years young?
This unsettled him. He stretched painfully, then flopped clumsily off of the cubicle. Still stiff, he let his still-sleepy mind guide him to the room with the little white fridge. He knew the three newest recruits would still be there.
"Get up, dullards!" he prompted as soon as he butted the door open. He didn't exactly know why they needed to get up, but no matter. He'd think of something.
Woodrow stood bolt upright, accidentally bumping into Harper midway. He doubled back in surprise at the sight of other dogs, instantaneously recounting that they had been companions before.
He tensed slightly as he noticed the strange whippet's slender outline at the doorway. What would this twisted slaver do next?
"Come with me!" ordered the gangly dog, roughly. The whippet left the room in a self-entired saunter, and Woodrow felt compelled to follow him. The terrier allowed himself to relax and let the black sighthound take the lead. It felt like a good move, mused the fluffy little dog.

Lad felt compelled to gather all the dogs in the office room. He guided them to his and Brimstone's quarters, willing the other dog to awaken. It was time to organize this group of eccentrics—time to make them into soldiers.
The whippet's strides lengthened with purpose, his muscles tensing with life as he gained wakefulness. He was aware of each measured movement. It felt good to be around for the dawning of this glorious day. The dogs were free of the People and their tyranny. He remembered Arabella's twisted ways, and he felt a passion balling up inside. He would dedicate himself to this cause.

It's probably that it's such a developed idea. A lot of really big rps haven't been doing well lately. It's really upsetting)

She had awoken at the jolt from Woodrow, and let out a long, soft growl as she followed Lad into the office room. She was quite unwilling and difficult to work with when she didn't get what she wanted. Therefore, the auburn female took a seat on the ground and gazed at Lad with a very 'done' expression. What is the meaning of this stupidity...? She huffed and twitched her fluffy tail.

Fortissimo smiled. "Oh no need to be sorry!" he said, "Have any interesting stories of the hunt?" he asked her with a grin and a thump of his tail. Blitz scotted closer so he could hear her properly, "Well there was this one time when my human took me hunting for quail. It had flooded the night before, but he was adament about going, so the whole time we aded through mud and water. I spotted a flock a little ways into the hunt and so I scared them to get hem flying right?" She took a breath, eyes alight as she told the tell, "My human shot a few of them down and so I went to go retrieve the quail, but when I found the spot they should have fallen to they were gone!" She laughed a little, "The mud had sucked them down and I had to pull them out. It was awesome."

Lad felt compelled to gather all the dogs in the office room. He guided them to his and Brimstone's quarterdeck , willing the other dog to awaken. It was time to organize this group of eccentrics—time to make them into soldiers.

It felt good to be around for the dawning of this glorious day. The dogs were free of the People and their tyranny. He remembered Arabella's twisted ways, and he felt a passion balling up inside. He would dedicate himself to this cause. April grumbled in irritation as she was awoken by the very loud and annoying Lad. She rose to her feet shakenly, her bones popping and muscles stretching. The floor of the office was a comfortable spot, but most places weren't when you had a belly full of pups. As she waddlled after Lad reluctantly, she gazed around at her surroundings, taking everything in in the daylight.

Poe trotted down a street, his long, feathered black tail hovering right above the ground. The flat-coated retriever gazed up at a run-down shack with his sad, coal-colored eyes, then let out a whine and padded onwards. In his melancholy state, he avoided places with rumors of Beast infestations, and stuck more towards the puddle-filled streets. The mist made his fur fluff slightly, into little feathering spikes. His appearance was quite raven-like.

((Poe wasn't... He hadn't been discovered or joined Lad yet... He's just kind of out there... But okay...))
In the distance, Poe spotted a fountain. It wasn't overly pretty now, but it looked like it could have been a long time ago. He padded to it, then wrinkled his nose as he scented other dogs. Following the trail, he shoved his way through a tight hole in a ramshackle office building, surprised as he discovered a crowd of other dogs. He looked upon the scene before him - upon the mere office, and the simple landscape features of the domain - upon the bleak walls - upon the vacant eye-like windows - upon a few rank sedges - and upon a few white trunks of decayed trees outside it - with an utter depression of soul which Poe could compare to no earthly sensation more properly than to the after-dream of the reveller upon opium - the bitter lapse into everyday life - the hideous dropping off of the veil. There was an iciness, a sinking, a sickening of the heart - an unredeemed dreariness of thought which no goading of the imagination could torture into aught of the sublime. What was it - he paused to think - what was it that so unnerved me in the contemplation of the room of dogs?

(So sorry it's short. It has been a lonnngg day and I'm still sick)
