Guys, we need to keep this alive. You must be active to participate. People's characters are being frozen. ]]
Brimstone's pelt was ruffled from recently waking up, but he shook himself quickly, and all the hairs seemed to settle into place. Sitting up upon the cubicle, he gazed down on the dogs.
April, Parker, North, Woodrow, Rhapsody, Harper. 6 dogs. They would make a pack out of this yet. As more and more dogs needed their shelter, he would conquer them, and put them into subordination. Of this he was sure, and confident.
Hopping down from the cubicle to stand next to Lad, he assumed that Lad had something to say.

In the distance, Poe spotted a fountain. It wasn't overly pretty now, but it looked like it could have been a long time ago. He padded to it, then wrinkled his nose as he scented other dogs. Following the trail, he shoved his way through a tight hole in a ramshackle office building, surprised as he discovered a crowd of other dogs. He looked upon the scene before him - upon the mere office, and the simple landscape features of the domain - upon the bleak walls - upon the vacant eye-like windows - upon a few rank sedges - and upon a few white trunks of decayed trees outside it - with an utter depression of soul which Poe could compare to no earthly sensation more properly than to the after-dream of the reveller upon opium - the bitter lapse into everyday life - the hideous dropping off of the veil. There was an iciness, a sinking, a sickening of the heart - an unredeemed dreariness of thought which no goading of the imagination could torture into aught of the sublime. What was it - he paused to think - what was it that so unnerved me in the contemplation of the room of dogs? ((Poe is in the office building as well; he stumbled upon it.))

Blitz scotted closer so he could hear her properly, "Well there was this one time when my human took me hunting for quail. It had flooded the night before, but he was adament about going, so the whole time we aded through mud and water. I spotted a flock a little ways into the hunt and so I scared them to get hem flying right?" She took a breath, eyes alight as she told the tell, "My human shot a few of them down and so I went to go retrieve the quail, but when I found the spot they should have fallen to they were gone!" She laughed a little, "The mud had sucked them down and I had to pull them out. It was awesome." Fortissimo's laugh was loud and boisterous. "That's fantastic!" he yelped in amusement. (So sorry it's short. It has been a lonnngg day and I'm still sick) Blitz nodded eagerly. She opened her mouth to speak again, but her ears cocked and she tilted her head to size ok concentration. Off in the distance was the faintest sound of voices. She sniffed the air before standing to her paws, "Do you hear that?"

Fortissimo shook his head. "No..." he said and tilted his head curiously. (Could you please make your posts at least six sentences? I'm not calling you out here deliberately; this goes for everybody. I get that you might be stumped or have no muse, but it isn't all that taxing to describe what your character sees, feels, and smells. I'm doubtlessly coming off as inconsiderate here, but I'm only reinforcing the rules. Just make your posts worth reading, OK?)

Hopping down from the cubicle to stand next to Lad, he assumed that Lad had something to say. Lad received Brimstone's presence with pleasure, and, subconsciously, gratitude. He pressed against the larger dog, snuggling into his thick fur in a grossly unseemly way.
"You're here to be laborers," he stated. "Not slaves. Hm. How should I put this?" He paused momentarily, then said, "You're here to be a pack, that's what."
What was the point of this, exactly, though? Lad would much prefer living with Brimstone to fussing over this motley bunch of eccentrics. He cleared his throat to say more, but a sudden sensation on his side grabbed his attention.
"Dammit," he growled, craning his head around to pluck a stubborn tick from his side. He dropped the tick unceremoniously and smashed it with his paw.
"Where the hell is North?" he said suddenly. His head whipped around.

(By the way, everyone, I plan to make a story version of this RP, which was my goal in the first place. The cast will be the original set of characters that I created on Microsoft Word about a year ago. The RP version will still continue to exist, though, obviously.)

I was tired when I wrote that so naturally it ended up shorter than normal. I wake up really early in the morning to go to work and work all day and come home and cook and clean and go to bed again. No I can not make six sentences as it is in fact quite taxing on my rather busy life. The most I can make is three and that's rare. If it's that important to you, I can leave. Not like I get to rp here anyway)

(You can leave if you want. Nobody here is really happy anyway. Post length not all that important to me in actuality, but if you're not happy you can go. I just want everyone to have something they can reply to.
I appreciate your hard work, but you shouldn't have joined in the first place if you can't meet the post limit. It was here long before I got the thread.
This forum junk doesn't mean anything in the long run, but I'm sorry, man.)

I joined because I thought it was a cool roleplay. I wasn't expecting to get berated for even my three line posts. I understand my one-liners being a problem but when I actually have time to type bigger things, I've still gotten in trouble for it. I'd love to stay here provided I can actually rp and you understand that I don't have as much time as you do.)

I don't despise you. I don't know about anyone else but I'd be happier here if I actually got to rp. But my everytime I rped with my characters, either the other persons' characters were removed from the rp meaning I had to start over, or the only people to reply to me are the ones who are busy and are on less than I am. and I would be able to have inspiration to make bigger posts if 1. I knew I'd get a reply and 2. If I can rp my characters more then I can develop their characters and be able to make the bigger posts if I have the time for it. I'm not going to leave if I feel like it's worth being here and that means actually rping the characters I spent three weeks typing up.)
You've mentioned it twice (even with my longer posts) and I think Battlescars did once)

Gradual development bettered starting off as a pack and just being done with it. I think that's why so few people joined. As for the deletion problem, that's been addressed. It won't happen again. Everyone is free to complain, though.)

It probably would have been much better to start off already in a pack. It would give more to rp) I know it's been addressed but it happened to me twice. I'm complaining or angry about it, I'm just stating that it did happen and it did set me back.)

Here's my two-cents: Mongrel, I think the reason everyone is so tense is because of how rigid you are with the rules and activity. I am by no means stating that the rules shouldn't be enforced, but there is a healthy medium that can be reached. The on every other day is just unrealistic. I know you are in 8th grade and you probably have much more time and energy to put into this RP then everyone else. I personally struggle to be on every THREE days let alone two because of homework and such. Any more than that for me is a chore and when I am on, I am tired because I making myself be on to satisfy the rule. I know a thread needs active, participating members for it to stay alive, but enforcing activity in the way you are (constantly pounding us with it) is more of turn off to this RP than a turn on. I think you are a great person and I don't mean to be rude, I really don't. I just feel like this needed to be stated. Well, that's it. I would really like to put this poop behind us all and have some fun! That's what RPing is all about right? Having fun? )

Harper eyed Lad and Brimstone with disdain. They were clearly in charge, but the 'pack' was certainly unorganized. When Poe stumbled into the room, she turned to look at him, then away again, choosing not to greet him. Her paws hurt from the hard floor, and she longed for the forest grass under her paws.
Poe looked around, his feathered black fur sticking up akin to bird feathers. He looked up at Lad and Brimstone, then down at the dogs beneath them. "Dictatorship naturally arises out of democracy, and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme liberty." He woofed pointedly. Though he appeared unthreatening, he had a voice that seemed to command acknowledgement. It was low, but smooth and poetic. A newcomer, he was, not yet knowing whom Lad and Brimstone and the other dogs were.

Lad whirled around at the sound of an unfamiliar voice. He could hardly comprehend the utter ignorance before him.
"I don't understand a word you just said," he murmured, "but you must be hell's ignorant creation if you're imbecile enough to walk in on a foreign pack."
His aggression resided, only to be replaced by a worse form of assertion: Menace. "What in the name of sseus do you think you're doing?"

"You are not wrong, who deem that my days have been a dream. Yet if hope has flown away, in a night, or in a day, in a vision or in none, is it therefore the less gone? It is a dog's folly to have great faith in fools - self-confidence, your friends will call it." The black, flat coated retriever woofed. "Home, I have none. I am Poe, and to have a home in your pack, I will comply."

He couldn't find it in himself to attack this imbecile and hoped that Brimstone would still think well of him in spite of this.
The whippet scratched his ear with a hind foot, then stood up and stretched. He was thinking of going back to the Fountain with Brimstone later—after all, it should have been clean by then—but knew that they would need to sort out this bunch of eccentrics first.
"Go stand with the rest of you idiots," he told Poe with a shrug. He wasn't exactly a leader, that he could admit—to himself, at least—and thus had no idea what else to say.

April gazed around the room, confused and irrated by the going ons. Who was this random mutt who was speaking random things? She turned her eyes back to alas, eyes aflame with annoyance. She was this close to walking out of the room and finding something to eat. She had to pee too and that was not helping the situation. She flexed her legs slowly and then rotated her sore neck as she waited for Lad and this newcomer to get it together so he could say whatever junk he had to say and then dismiss this new "pack".

Sorry, I've been drowning under the homework teachers have been giving me ;-; I'm thinking of bringing in my other characters once more to keep the RP going. It's a lot of work, but I'm willing to do anything to keep members happy. If you could teleport your dogs to the insurance building, that would be appreciated. ]]
Brimstone stood taller, a figure of solidarity, hopping atop of the cubicle, staring down at the ranks of dogs. "Alright, mutts, listen up! It's time to organize you group of motley mavericks into a pack. Starting shortly, you will be tested in your skills." Puffing out his chest importantly, he continued, gesturing to April with his muzzle. "You there, April was it? You will be known as a matriarch, or a mother-dog. As soon as you have finished raising your pups and feel fit to begin pack duties, you will be tested."
Turning his double-colored gaze to the rest of the dogs, he seemed to think for a moment. "Lad will serve your Alpha, and I as your Beta. You all shall be tested on your strength, persistence, hunting, fighting, and your overall prowess. You will be placed into one of three categories.
The most respected of these three categories is a hunter. Brave, fleet-footed souls who provide for the pack. How would a pack be safe without a nightwatch? A sentinel will keep watch by night, and sleep by day. And of course, every pack must have a territory. Patrollers will keep watch over the border, and make sure none trespass. Now, for those of you who excel in your tests, you will be placed as the leader of one of these three groups.
In order to keep a pack healthy, we must have dogs to heal others. Healers, you will be the kind-hearted and sharp, and you will be tasked to find the most effective cures to the sick and wounded. You will train the next to take your place when you have finished serving your pack.
Dogs under 12 months will be known as initiates, or dogs in training. Similar dogs, recruits, will be taken in and examined to see where they belong.
And to the one who does the worst, you will be known as the DREDGE. You eat last, and are an insubordinate to everyone."
Essentially everything on the main page should be referred to, and assumed that Lad and Brimstone have explained this to your dogs. Please refer in you need a refreshment. @mongrel I know it seems like I'm going a little quickly with this, but there isn't much to RP about explaining the Pack, and the RP needs to be moved along.
Having finished his great speech, Brimstone looked to Lad for approval.

The big pit hauled himself to his feet and padded behind Blitz. He heard the talking but figured it was just one of the many dogs in the shelter. He didn't say anything to Blitz though- she seemed intent on figuring this out so he simply followed. Even though he knew it was just another dog in the shelter, he was curious as to exactly who it was and what would happen when Blitz found them.
