Fortissimo glanced over when he noticed a movement from the corner of his eye. "Come on over! Grab yourself a steak or some bacon" The big dog called to her with a friendly smile and a wag of his thick tail. (sorry it's short.. so sleepy...) Blitz trotted over to him tentatively, but the smell of bacon was too inciting. She smiled down at him and grabbed a strip of bacon, settling down near him. Close enough to be polite, but far enough away to be safe. *MorningGlory*

sorry I meant to answer but wasn't feeling well and then forgot. Long week)
Fortissimo smiled gently in hopes of showing the other dog that he was ok. He looked around at the other dogs in his prescense and continued hte story of one of his days hunting with his human. Pitbulls didn't make very good hunting dogs but his human never left without him, and so he became a hutning dog.

Brimstone followed suit, shooting a suspicious glare at the other dogs, piling up rubbish at the door way, holing themselves in in a way. Hopping onto the cubicle, he curled around Lad, his flanks rising and falling slowly. His breathing began to slow, his eyes shutting.
Parker looked towards April, making a face and sticking his tongue out playfully. He pretended to puke, wagging his tail in the direction that Brimstone and Lad went. He rolled his eyes, leaning into April, and settling down on his haunches. [[ Do you guys want to time skip. April snickered and pressed into the male's black coat. Her eyes became droopy, but she fought off her urge to sleep, "We need to get inside for the night. I think a storm is going to come through." She craned her neck to see inside of the broken door that Lad and Brimstone had entered earlier, "You think they would kill us if we went inside the building? I just can't get sick if it starts to rain, you know? My pups would be in danger." Her voice cracked slightly at the thought of losing her unborn pups. She would have to risk the journey inside the building. lozi Would you like to time skip these two?)

He looked around at the other dogs in his prescense and continued hte story of one of his days hunting with his human. Pitbulls didn't make very good hunting dogs but his human never left without him, and so he became a hutning dog. No problem!) Blitz sat her hunches down near the pitbull and chewed in her piece of bacon while listening to the dog's story. She perked up when she learned that the male used to be a hunting dog for his owner. The English setter had been a gundog once upon a time and this- the fact that this dog had experianced and done the same things as her- was almost like finding a piece of normally. A piece of home. She inched towards him and listened eagerly, captured by the story of his life that so nearly fit hers.

The Finnish Spitz snarled, her lithe limbs moving swiftly. In a flash of auburn, she darted forwards and butted her head against Lad's side, colliding with the whippet's ribcage. She snapped and snarled, more for effect so Lad would release Woodrow. Her adrenaline was pumping, hot and heavy, ready to fight for the smaller, underdogs. "You two made a mistake, messing with us. Let us leave, or promise us no harm. We might even be useful to you." She growled, hackles raised menacingly.

Fortissimo moved on to tell a story of once on his humans' many trips, that, he chased a deer a quarter mile- silghtly exaggerating of course- before falling into a river and losing sight of the deer. "Luckily my human was right behind me and killed it with his firestick," the big dog woofed happily

Poe, the black, flat coated retriever, padded solemnly down the littered streets. He wasn't quite miserable, more so biding his time until he came upon something significant. The raven-furred dog's tail was not wagging, it drooped behind him, its feather-looking locks almost reaching the ground. His heart, though not in its own folly, had fallen in love with melancholy. He lifted his head, listening only for the sound of other dogs, for some other company.

It's 11:30 here and I just cheered a whole football game so I am pooped. I'm going to go to bed after this post. )
Blitz leaned forward at the climax of the story and when the owner hadn't made the shot, she relaxed. It was always the worst for her when she wasn't able to please her Safeguard or do her job right, so she felt for the dog. It had to have been displeasing to think that he had lost prey after following it so far, but then the moment that the deer was shot....! That would have been an amazing feeling. She pulled another piece of her bacon off and crunched on it, eager to hear more.
Outside, the strom raged and a small part of Blitz was thankful that she was inside. However, a bigger part was ecstatic that she had found a kindred spirit.

Woodrow only moaned piteously in response, the incoherent sound even more garbled than normal for any living being. His head had slammed down hard upon the concrete. Head pulsating with pain, he painstakingly rose to his feet, the blood rushing from his head, dizzying him.
He perked up instantly as the anger returned. “That's what you get for being mean!” he cried, legitimately furious, gesturing toward the bite-mark that now adorned Brimstone's body. He snuffled and sneezed, then, composing himself, thumped Lad deliberately on the nose with his plumy tail.
Lad looked on in almost exasperation as he watched the smaller dogs yammer on and on. He passed Brimstone a dry look, then turned back to the other two, scolding them like a stern dam:
“Well, you shouldn't have come here, then!” he snapped. “This place belongs to us,” he added, oblivious to the fact that there were scarcely any other potential territories in the vicinity. Turning, the gangly whippet adressed Brimstone: “We should take them.” He narrowed his eyes, scornful gaze roving Harper's features. “As for this one? Well, she might just be a bit more of a challenge.”
Woodrow yelped and caterwauled as Lad clutched him harshly by the ruff and proceeded to carry him off, the lesser dog dangling from the whippet's jaws like a young whelp.
“I'll teach you not to mess with me!” he snarled, but his offender didn't seem to hear, eyes narrowed with concentration as though the task at hand were the most difficult one yet.
Not as difficult as taking over more than half the town, I suppose? criticized a negative voice, and Woodrow couldn't help but agree. Sorry it took me so long getting back to you, I thought it was your turn to reply. Here's your last post if you need it. ]]
Brimstone nodded, gripping the french bulldog in his jaws, rolling his eyes at Harper, trying to be a hero. "Come, or don't. We're not going to fight you. Just know, the city can be a dangerous place when night falls." His voice was sinister, and he thought that their pack wouldn't suffer much without Harper. Hopefully, Lad agreed as well. Truth be told, Brimstone was feeling quite peaceful after his moment with Lad at the fountain. Following Lad, he turned towards the insurance building to add the two dogs to their growing pack.

Harper kept her hackles raised and her lip curled, but her tail lowered. "We will join you, but only if you bring them no harm." She woofed lowly. Her brown eyes still flashed with rage and ferocity. She was spunky, that was for sure, but she would make a good addition to the pack once it formed. "Release them, and we will follow." The auburn female declared, holding her head higher. Her tail curled over her hip once more, her untrimmed nails clicking on the pavement. It irked her, but they were useful when needed.

Truth be told, Brimstone was feeling quite peaceful after his moment with Lad at the fountain. Following Lad, he turned towards the insurance building to add the two dogs to their growing pack. Lad entered the building, traipsing up the steps with some difficulty. He could sense Brimstone not far behind, so, knowing that he had backup, sped up his pace, ignoring Parker and April as he stepped on the doormat to nose the door open. The whippet promptly entered, not bothering to hold the door open for his lover in his dignified and preoccupied state, and made his way into the room with the mini-fridge. He saw Woodrow's eyes brighten at the prospect of food and smirked with satisfaction inwardly as he imagined the terrier's long face at the unfruitful hunt soon to come.
The sleek sighthound plopped Woodrow on the foreground, not standing back but instead looming threateningly over his prisoner in a gesture of dominance. "You're with us now," he said vaguely, throwing the puny terrier a last scornful look before jogging out of the doorway to leave Brimstone to the rest. The whippet was tired and haughty, and he didn't think to stand by and watch for signs that Brimstone needed aid—not that the shepherd mix ever would, anyway, thought Lad with wistful pride.
He suddenly realized his error in not waiting to help. Anything could go wrong! Too humiliated to take on the walk of shame, Lad waited patiently and somewhat anxiously atop the cubicle.

Heat flooded her face and she recoiled back, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt..."

Brimstone follows Lad towards the building with Rhapsody in tow, half inviting Harper. Lad enters the building, waiting for Brimstone to come to the cubicle, but worries for his safety with the other untrustworthy dogs. Brimstone rolled his eyes at Harper, spitting half-heartedly, "As long as you keep yourselves in line, you should do fine in our motley pack. If not, we'll keep you mutts in check our way." He didn't put Rhapsody down, however, following Lad into the building, and dropping her, not gently, onto the ground. The rest, went without a hitch. The dogs were sleeping, and Brimstone hopped over the trash pile, into the room, hopping up next to Lad.

The dogs were sleeping, and Brimstone hopped over the trash pile, into the room, hopping up next to Lad. Lad was already asleep by that point, merely twitching as he subconsciously sensed Brimstone's presence. It had been a tiring night, and he was beyond content to be resting his weary bones. The whippet snuffled in sleep, tucking his muzzle closer to his hindquarters. His face scrunched unknowingly as he pressed his face against his hind foot with more force than appropriate.
The sighthound suddenly sprawled out across the surface of the cubicle, twisting onto his side. His skinny tail rested over his right thigh. His paws began to twitch as he snored slightly, likely enveloped in a dream.
