Previous Gatherings' News:
Most recent Gatherings are on top.Occurred October through November of 2020
~~WindClan was the first to arrive to Fourtrees, led by Swiftstar and Blacktail. Most warriors noticed how heavily the area scented of ShadowClan.
Swiftstar and Blacktail discussed how Fourtrees seemed spared from the Great Fire. Swiftstar commented about his trip to ShadowClan recent to his deputy and how WindClan might have been one of the least effected by the fire as much as that was hard to believe. They then discussed what Swiftstar was going to report and what it might mean to arrive first at a gathering. Fallowmeadow lingered beside the two.
Dashclaw spoke with his sons Antpaw and Soarpaw about how to behave at a gathering. Antpaw called Lightningstar old. Dashclaw then told his kits some tales of when he was an apprentice and how he didn't have his father's support. Dashclaw then promised to race Soarpaw sometime to see how fast his son was getting.
Fawnspots and Crowfrost wondered if the other Clans would make it.
Brownleaf was super uncomfortable and clearly didn't want to be at the gathering, but Siltpath managed to calm his nerves a little. They discussed Meadowbrook's betrayal amongst themselves. Then wondered if ShadowClan was able to warn the rest of the Clans about the fire like they warned WindClan. Brownleaf doubted ShadowClan could ever do anything "out of the goodness of their hearts."
Silverspirit and Eclispesky the medicine cat sat close and discussed if Stormfury of ShadowClan would be attending the gathering tonight. They figured Stormfury's mate would be close to kitting by now. They also discussed that this gathering would be hard for Silverspirit since Swallowfeather is dead and her brother in ShadowClan. Eclispesky decided to sit with her throughout the gathering instead of the other medicine cats when they arrived.
~~ThunderClan arrived at the gathering, led by Lightningstar and Sunthroat...and Ghostscreech? The Clan looked a little more roughened up from the Fire than WindClan. Swiftstar greeted Lightningstar with a dip of his head and cut off his conversation with Blacktail so that the ThunderClan leader wouldn't overhear. He mentioned to Lightningstar that he was glad to see him leading ThunderClan once again and asked how they were. Blacktail eyed Ghostscreech curiously, noticing how the younger tom was closer to Lightningstar than Sunthroat was. Lightningstar replied that ThunderClan was "Not too bad," however the fire was harsh on them. Lightningstar admitted to losing a few brave warriors. He hoped WindClan faired better. Swiftstar replied that they lost some clanmates as well, but they remain strong. He seemed a little nervous when he looked up at the Great Rock. Lightningstar lightened the mood by expressing his sympathies for Swiftstar's loss and reporting that Sunthroat has stepped down as deputy and Ghostscreech was made ThunderClan's new deputy. Ghostscreech kindly greeted Swiftstar by saying he was happy to see Swiftstar was well. Blacktail was surprised to hear that Sunthroat retired. Swiftstar congratulated Ghostscreech and was happy to hear he didn't recieve the position because Sunthroat died. Ghostscreech thanked the WindClan leader and hoped to make Sunthroat and ThunderClan proud. Lightningstar jumped up on the Great Rock. Swiftstar soon followed; however, he seemed hesitant. He made the leap well enough, but afterwards, he was stiffling coughs. Maybe he was still scratchy from the smoke of the fire?
Blacktail welcomed Ghostscreech to his new spot as ThunderClan's deputy. Ghostscreech had to admit he'd likely get used to his new position in front of the other Clans. They discussed how their Clans faired amidst the fire and Blacktail commented again how he never thought Sunthroat would retire (must be repeating himself in his old age), but he remarked that Ghostscreech seemed to have a good head on his shoulders. Ghostscreech valued Sunthroat's advice and Blacktail told him to always heed to Sunthroat's wisdom.
Hornetstrike of ThunderClan looked a little disappointed to see that RiverClan hadn't arrived yet, but that could be because he was worried about his kin in RiverClan after the Great Fire.
Frostmoon of ThunderClan was mooning over Ghostscreech from afar. Nettlepatch and Blizzardstorm of ThunderClan kept to themselves.
Sootclaw of ThunderClan appeared distracted when he arrived. He seemed to be looking everywhere except at the gathering. Wonder what he was looking for?
Shadowblossom and Featherfoot of ThunderClan wondered where the other Clans were. Usually the clearing isn't this empty when they arrive. They discussed the fire and Featherfoot proposed that maybe the Clans could help each other. Shadowblossom doubted it. Clans get desperate when they're hungry.
Peachdapple, medicine cat of ThunderClan, followed her Clan in looking tired, but steady. Eclispesky called out to her and asked how she was. The two medicine cats discussed their relief that the other was alright and fretted over each others' herb stocks. Eclipsesky admitted that several ShadowClan warriors came to WindClan to warn them of the fire. They discussed how stubborn leaders are as patients. Aspenfall, Peachdapple's apprentice, sat calmly near the other medicine cats and listened. Eclipsesky told Peachdapple that he thinks Swiftstar lost his first life amidst the fire and said that Swiftstar lost his daughter in a tunnel collapse (which he shouldn't have mentioned the tunnel because WindClan keeps its tunneling skills a secrect to the other Clans, but that's a simple mistake). Eclipsesky also mentioned that Swiftstar does have a small cough after the flames; however, he seems...different as well. Peachdapple was very sympathetic as always.
Swiftsun of WindClan distracted Frostmoon from her mooning over the ThunderClan deputy by greeting her. Frostmoon almost appeared startled by it...and embarrassed. They discussed the fire and Swiftsun commented that WindClan was lucky that ShadowClan warned them in time.
Wolfshadow and Bumblegaze of ThunderClan wondered if ShadowClan all died since the Great Fire started in their territory...thanks guys. Have a little faith in us why don't ya?
~~Earthstar and Diamondheart led RiverClan into the gathering! Earthstar noticed that ThunderClan and Lightningstar looked more burnt than any other Clan at the gathering. Swiftstar coughed again, but tried to hide it from the other leaders.
Ghostscreech commented to Blacktail that RiverClan appeared mostly unscathed by the flames. Diamondheart, deputy of RiverClan, greeted the other deputies, but wasn't expecting to see Ghostscreech sitting in Sunthroat's place. He asked if something happened to Sunthroat and Ghostscreech relayed that Sunthroat had decided to step down and now he was deputy. Diamondheart commented that he was curious to see how Ghostscreech did as deputy. Blacktail teased that Diamondheart was eyeing Ghostscreech too closely. These deputies are really friendly toward each other.
Nighteye of ThunderClan didn't like how Ottermask of RiverClan was eyeing everyone around the gathering clearing, especially Peachdapple. He struck up a conversation to see the RiverClan's toms intentions. Through their conversation, Nighteye determined Ottermask was just curious how everyone faired from the fire and not trying to spot advantages over other Clans.
Deadpath and Shellstream of RiverClan stuck close together. Deadpath was looking for SkyClan, wondering if his former Clanmates and kin from that Clan were alright. Shellstream reassured him.
Hornetstrike of ThunderClan was relieved to see that his brother: Diamondheart, and mother: Winterfrost of RiverClan were okay. He struck up a conversation with Winterfrost when Diamondheart moved to speak with the other deputies.
Orchidnight and Thawfrost of RiverClan commented their relief to see some of the other Clans already hear. They suspected ShadowClan was hit the hardest, if the warriors that warned them of the flames were any indication of it.
Sunthroat, former deputy of ThunderClan now retired, was amused at how awkward Ghostscreech was sitting with the other deputies.
Many apprentices scampered off to speak with other apprentices from other clans.
Specklecreek, medicine cat of RiverClan, joined the other medicine cats and expressed her relief that they were alright. They talked herbs again and expressed their hope that SkyClan and ShadowClan were alright as well. They're all very worried about each other because they're all very close.
~~SkyClan arrived at the gathering led by Spiritstar and Whitesun! (Spiritstar was rped by Moonblazer since Jewelspirit couldn't get on.) Spiritstar gracefully jumped up on the Great Rock; however, she seemed to have injured her pads in the fire. Spiritstar greeted the other leaders with a dip of her head. Swiftstar spoke that he was glad SkyClan made it tonight while Earthstar simply dipped his head in greeting to Spiritstar. Spiritstar declared that SkyClan would not miss a gathering, especially when the sky was so clear. She commented she was glad to see the other Clans were still steady then inquired about ShadowClan. Swiftstar replied that there has been no sign of ShadowClan yet. He then looked around the clearing in wondering if ShadowClan would actually show up. Having visited ShadowClan's camp recently, Swiftstar knew how damaged ShadowClan had been by the fire. Lightningstar suggested that maybe ShadowClan wasn't coming. Spiritstar urged for them to have faith. ShadowClan would displease StarClan if they didn't arrive at the gathering. Lightningstar admitted that she was right and said that even though ThunderClan and ShadowClan were rivals, he didn't wish death upon them. Spiritstar then inquired how the other Clans were and if anyone knew how the Great Fire even started. None of the leaders knew how the fire started.
Whitesun made his way over to the other deputies and was surprised to see Ghostscreech instead of Sunthroat. Diamondheart greeted Whitesun kindly while Blacktail just rumbled a relieved greeting. Whitesun reported that his Clan was able to make it up the cliffs in time to escape the fire. He then inquired to Ghostscreech about Sunthroat and Ghostscreech ONCE AGAIN had to tell that Sunthroat wasn't dead, just retired. Diamondheart mused a comment about it saying that hopefully Cloudscar, deputy of ShadowClan, will arrive to hear Ghostscreech repeat it again. Blacktail quickly interjected by saying that Cloudscar was a sturdy warrior and he would be here. Whitesun then inquired how WindClan and RiverClan were. Diamondheart reported that RiverClan was managing, the waters had been a benefit for them in the fire while Blacktail said that WindClan will never fall to something like the Great Fire, but it was certainly a traedgy.
Spiderpaw, medicine cat apprentice of SkyClan, headed over to the other medicine cats to greet them. He also appeared relieved that they were alright. He was going to speak to them when his clanmate Weaselpaw slid up to him to have a conversation. Spiderpaw snapped at Weaselpaw to go show his shakiness to someone else, he was busy. Specklecreek was not impressed with the way Spiderpaw treated his clanmate.
Deadpath of RiverClan appeared relieved to see SkyClan was alright, but awkwardly didn't go talk to any of them.
Weaselpaw of SkyClan spoke with Thrushwing of ThunderClan. Thrushwing was surprised to hear that Weaselpaw hadn't been informed by his clan on how to act at gatherings and he kindly filled Weaselpaw in instead of trying to take advantage of the young apprentice. They inquired about each others' clans and Specklecreek, once again, didn't like how Spiderpaw spoke of his clanmates when Spiderpaw told the story of how hard he worked to save Sunswallow from his burns only for Sunswallow to have "the indecency to die on me anyway." Peachdapple mused that "Spiderpaw would not be Spiderpaw without his tongue of mint and holly" She then inquired if Spiderpaw and Lavendersky had any extra milkweed they would be willing to trade. Spiderpaw said he had some and would trade it for celandine if ThunderClan had any to spare. Peachdapple said they indeed had extra. Aspenfall was listening to the conversations and Eclispesky appeared unsettled by the way Spiderpaw spoke of his clanmates. Specklecreek then inquired if anyone has heard from ShadowClan. Peachdapple shook her head and commented that ShadowClan had been able to warn every Clan about the fire except for ThunderClan. She guessed the fire had grown too strong for ShadowClan to reach ThunderClan in time. Eclipsesky commented that Swiftstar and Dawnshadow had visited ShadowClan recently and Dawnshadow said they were in pretty bad shape. He feared their Clan would've ended up the same had it not been for Stormfury, Poppyflame, and Thistlestalk of ShadowClan warning them in time. Specklecreek found it surprising that Swiftstar visited ShadowClan. She expressed her relief that ShadowClan "didn't burn away entirely." Eclipsesky expressed his faith that ShadowClan would arrive. StarClan would be very angry with them if they didn't after all.
Flarestorm of SkyClan charmingly slid over to his clanmate Briarpatch and sat next to her. Briarpatch commented that it was strange for ShadowClan to not be here. Flarestorm was optimistic that Cedarstar would lead ShadowClan here soon. However, Briarpatch admitted that she felt like StarClan was punishing them for this fire. Flarestorm stated that would be cruel of StarCland to do so. No one at the gathering knew how the Great Fire had started in the first place.
Splashstone of WindClan padded over to his father, Stormsplash of RiverClan. The two spoke of their losses in the fire. Splashstone's mother, Rainfeather, had perished. They had a heartbreaking bonding moment.
Apprentices chatted: Dawnpaw of ThunderClan, Juniperpaw of WindClan, Coldpaw of SkyClan. Eclipsepaw of ThunderClan joined them after a while. Articpaw and Silentpaw of RiverClan lingered nearby.
Sunthroat and Laceheart discussed how Sunthroat wasn't a deputy anymore.
~~ShadowClan finally arrived at the gathering! However, it was a horrifying sight! Cedarstar led his Clan in with his deputy, Cloudscar and medicine cat, Snowdance at his sides. The ShadowClan leader was covered with burns! His front legs were charred and hairless, his chest oozing with puss, and the right side of his face was scorched! Behind him, many of his warriorswere burned as well. However, ShadowClan walked with as much pride as they could portray. Most cats in the clearing stopped their conversations to stare at the nightly clan as they arrived. Even the other leaders and deputies were taken aback with shock. Some warriors, Brownleaf of WindClan and Silvercloud of SkyClan, had to look away from Cedarstar because his burns grotesques them. Cedarstar walked all the way up to the Great Rock and stopped before it, not saying a word.
Swiftstar appeared more surprised to see Cedarstar leading his clan to the gathering than by Cedarstar's wounds. His whiskers twitched nervously and he eyed the distance from the top of the Great Rock to the ground as if wondering if Cedarstar would be able to make the jump. He greeted Cedarstar calmly.
Spiritstar had a look of pain and empathy on her face when she saw Cedarstar's injuries. She expressed her relief that Cedarstar and ShadowClan could make it.
Lightningstar simply eyed the ShadowClan cats and didn't say anything. Earthstar remained quiet as well, but the way he studied Cedarstar's wounds, he was thinking of something.
Diamondheart's eyes widened with shock at the sight of Cedarstar while Blacktail sucked in a surprised breath at the horrible damage dealt to the ShadowClan leader. Ghostscreech stared in shock as well, but managed to regain his composure. Cloudscar, deputy of ShadowClan, stuck close to Cedarstar in entering the gathering clearing. He refused to look at the crowds around him or his leader. Perhaps he didn't want to see everyone's reactions or perhaps he avoiding something he wouldn't see. He greeted the other deputies with a dip of his head, but looked at Cedarstar in wondering if the young leader would attempt the jump onto the Great Rock. Blacktail greeted Cloudscar and expressed his concern and relief that he and ShadowClan were here. Cloudscar coolly responded that ShadowClan simply had a late start getting out of camp. Even though it was clear Cedarstar's wounds likely slowed the Clan down. Cloudscar expressed he was glad to see Blacktail (they're old friend and old bois). He looked at Ghostscreech and simply congratulated him on his new position. Cloudscar easily put two and two together that Ghostscreech was ThunderClan's new deputy. He didn't bother to ask about Sunthroat since Ghostscreech had probably told that tale plenty of times already. Cloudscar inquired how WindClan was fairing after the fire.
Spiderpaw, medicine cat apprentice of SkyClan, gave Snowdance and Opalmist scruntinizing looks for allowing Cedarstar to come to the gathering.
Goldberry of ShadowClan followed his Clan in and was uneased by all the cats staring at them. Sunpaw of ShadowClan growled at the other Clans, unapproving of how they all looked at Cedarstar. Starrylight held her head high under all the gazes while Duskpaw shrank at the fact that they were the last ones to show, but Palepaw encouraged her to stand tall. They ran off together to tell apprentices from other Clans about how Cedarstar got his burns protecting ShadowClan. Falcontalon, former deputy of ShadowClan, calmly greeted old friends from other Clans. Sandflower of ShadowClan was unsettled by all the eyes on ShadowClan and she moved to sit by herself at the back of the clearing. Lilypaw and her siblings, Oakpaw and Hollypaw were uneased by the stares of all the other clans. Sandflower encouraged Lilypaw and her siblings to go socialize and show that ShadowClan was still strong. Hollypaw was excited at that thought.
Cliffheart of ShadowClan looked more down than usual. He kept staring at Spiritstar and Lavendersky of SkyClan (his sisters) as if wishing he could talk to them. Kinkfire remained beside her mate, Stormcloud, and was hostile to the other Clans as if waiting for someone to call them weak. Closesky, father of Cedarstar, kept watching his son with fatherly concern. Rowanpaw asked his mentor Sootwhisker about the other leaders. Russetshade entered the gathering as proud as she could be, she encouraged her mate, Flintclaw to keep his head up and hold pride that ShadowClan survived the Great Fire. The other Clans likely wouldn't have handled the flames like they had. Tumblefoot entered in with Burninghope and was uneased by all the stares. Burninghope said that other clans looked like they just saw cats fly when they walked into the clearing. She encouraged Tumblefoot to keep hope which led to a conversation about the two of them becoming mentors someday. Whorlpaw and Honeypaw spoke together about the other clans they eased each others fears and seemed to grow closer. Strikepaw was pounding into the clearing, super excited about his first gathering.
Eclipsesky let out an audible gasp seeing ShadowClan's state and he commented to the other medicine cats that he didn't realize their damage was as bad at actually is. Specklecreek couldn't fathom how Cedarstar was walking into the gathering with burns like those. From the look on her face she was questioning why Snowdance and Opalmist, medicine cats of ShadowClan, would allow Cedarstar to come. Peachdapple bristled at the sight of Cedarstar's wounds and she guessed that Cedarstar must have lost a life because of them. When Snowdance and Opalmist approached, she expressed her relief that the two were alright.
Briarpatch of SkyClan grew angry at the sight of ShadowClan's state. She was furious at how the Great Fire had treated her fellow Clan. Flarestorm thought Cedarstar looked like he could crumble into ash. Willownose scowled that ShadowClan even allowed their burned leader to even attend.
Shadowblossom of ThunderClan was relieved to see ShadowClan show despite their injuries. Thorndash had sympathy for ShdaowClan.
Thawfrost of RiverClan commented to his clanmate Orchidnight that "Cedarstar might have it worse" when it came to which leader was most injured by the fire. Owlwhisker couldn't believe that Cedarstar was even walking with his injuries. Orchidnight commented that Cedarstar "looks like a featherless bird" she stated that leafbare will likely be hardest on ShadowClan (when it always is, but this leaf-bare will certainly be far worse x.X).
Silverspirit of WindClan looked very upset when she couldn't get Cloudscar, deputy of ShadowClan, to look at her. Eclispesky spoke to her and she hardly heard it. Wonder why she's so interested in the ShadowClan deputy? Eclipsesky looked upset about the absence of Stormfury of ShadowClan at the gathering.
~~Cedarstar made an attempt to jump onto the Great Rock. However, with his burns, he slipped and fell back to the ground. Audible gasps could be heard from the cats in the clearing and Cedarstar let out a frustrated hiss at his mis-jump. He didn't get up right away. Swiftstar actually jumped down from the Great Rock when Cedarstar fell. From the look on his face, he wanted to aid Cedarstar, but didn't want to wound the ShadowClan leader's pride even more. Instead, he calmly suggested that the gathering be held off the Great Rock this moon. Cloudscar quickly rushed to his leader's side to help him back to his paws. He eyed Swiftstar as if sharing the WindClan leader's thoughts about not climbing on the Great Rock, but he remained quiet to let Cedarstar make that call for himself. Spiritstar stayed on the Great Rock and agreed with Swiftstar, saying that StarClan won't cast judgement if they held the gathering off the Great Rock. Lightningstar remained on the Great Rock and remained quiet, but he didn't appear to be in disagreement with Swiftstar or Spiritstar. Earthstar remained quiet as well, but after a time, he jumped down from the Great Rock to be on equal footing with Swiftstar and Cedarstar.
Blacktail appeared to want to go to Cedarstar's aid, but refrained himself. Diamondheart silently hissed in sympathy for Cedarstar's slip.
Specklecreek jumped to her paws when Cedarstar fell, inquiring to the other medicine cats if they should help him.
Many warriors of ShadowClan fretted over their leader from far: Cardinalblaze, Closesky, Duskpaw, Palepaw, Whorlpaw, Goldberry, and Sandflower. Maplepaw cringed at how Cedarstar embarrassed ShadowClan. Sunpaw suppressed a hiss that Cedarstar made their clan look so weak by falling from the Great Rock.
Many cats in the Clans muttered about Cedarstar's mis-jump. Some even felt embarrassed for Cedarstar. Many muttered that Cedarstar shouldn't have even come tonight and just let Cloudscar do the gathering instead. Dashclaw seemed to be questioning why Swiftstar was showing so much kindness toward Cedarstar.
~~Starrylight, mate to Cedarstar, rushed to the ShadowClan leader's side the moment he hit the ground. Her prescense seemed to still the frustration and rising anger that Cedarstar had and Cedarstar's pride broke enough that he no longer attempted a jump on the Great Rock. Instead, he laid down on the ground to ease his burns as much as he could--he even look exhausted from the journey to get to Fourtrees. Cedarstar avoided the gazes of others, clearly embarrassed by what just happened, but to get the attention off of himself, he inquired to Swiftstar on how WindClan was doing. Cedarstar had looked a bit surprised when Swiftstar so quickly jumped down from the Great Rock to come down to his level.
Lightningstar jumped down from the Great Rock when Cedarstar laid down. He eased the tension in the air by commenting that if he would've known they were having the gathering on the ground, he would've never let his old bones jump on to the Great Rock in the first place. Cedarstar appeared unsure on how to respond to that. Swiftstar appeared relieved that Cedarstar wouldn't attempt another jump, but the way he stifled a cough, he may have had more reasons for that instead of just worry for Cedarstar. He commented that WindClan was recovering as he was sure ShadowClan was as well.
Spiritstar jumped down from the Great Rock as well commenting her amusement at Lightningstar's way of breaking the tension. However, she then told Cedarstar not to strain himself and that he wasn't the first and he won't be the last cat to miss a jump. Cedarstar, already embarrassed enough without her bringing anymore attention to it, firmly told her that he didn't need any reminders from her. Spiritstar apologized for her comment.
Cloudscar moved back to the other deputies with embarrassment for himself and his Clan rippling through his pelt. Blacktail leaned over to Cloudscar and quietly hoped none of Cedarstar's burns had split open from his fall. Cloudscar replied that Cedarstar was strong and determined, he would be alright. Yet, Cloudscar still refused to look at the crowd of cats and only focused his gaze on the other deputies and the leaders. Wonder why that was?
Lightningstar stepped between Spiritstar and Cedarstar and stated that now they were all here, they should get the gathering started before it grew too much later. While Cedarstar, Earthstar, and Swiftstar silently agreed with him, Spiritstar voiced her agreement and asked the other leaders if she could give her report first. Lightningstar and Cedarstar appeared surprised by her request, but no one objected. Lightningstar called out that the gathering was beginning so that the cats in the clearing would settle down. It was very strange for many cats to have the leaders on the ground for this gathering.
~~Spiritstar took a few pawsteps forward and had to really raise her voice to be heard from the ground. She reported:
"This gathering is not like most others. It would be foolish to ignore what has occurred between our clans, and the damage that this fire has brought. In honor of the clanmates we have lost, I will announce their courage and honor their lives first and foremost. The fire claimed the lives of two of our Warriors, Lostwing and Rainfrost, and our elder, Goldfire. They died while doing what they could to help their clanmates escape from further harm. Starclan guide their paws safely, and welcome them with open paws." She hesitated for a while, allowing a respectful moment of silence for her clanmates to mourn the three cats.
Her report of only three casualties from the fire didn't settle too well with the other Clans. Cedarstar flattened his ears, but didn't say anything. Earthstar appeared surprise, but remained quiet. The SkyClan cats in the clearing dipped their heads in a moment of silence for their lost clanmates. Cats from other clans didn't appear pleased that SkyClan only lost three cats.
Spiritstar continued:
Spiriststar lifted her head after a few more moments, before she turned to look at Cedarstar, before looking back at as many of the gathered cats as she could. "Skyclan was able to prevent further losses of life due to the selfless acts of warning that were sent to our camp from Shadowclan. Cliffheart and Cardinalblaze did not hesitate to assist us in our time of need. It was their warning combined with the swift actions of our clan that allowed us to save all of our kits, queens and the rest of our clanmates. Our territory is damaged, and our camp is rebuilding, but we are still strong, together." She dipped her head to the gathered cats, before turning to nod to Cedarstar. "Skyclan thanks you for your warning, and will aim to repay the deeds of your Warriors." She caught sight of Cliffheart, heart aching for a moment as she hesitated once again. Finding her voice again, she righted herself and nodded firmly. "Even in such times, there is always a sign of light through darkness. Skyclan is proud to announce the apprenticeships of Coldkit, Fallkit, Sunkit and Firekit, who are now Coldpaw, Fallpaw, Sunpaw and Firepaw. Skyclan has also recently saved a loner Queen and her kits from injuries sustained in the flames. Until futher notice, we will treat her and her kits under the care of our medicine cats." She nodded with approval towards Lavadersky and Spiderpaw, immensely proud of both of them. She blinked, looking around steadily in case any cat decided to challenge her decision.
Cedarstar appeared surprised to be so openly thanked by Spiritstar. He still didn't say anything, however. Swiftstar flicked his ear and appeared amused that Cedarstar warned every Clan about the fire. Lightningstar narrowed his eyes and causally looked at Cedarstar, he did not appear pleased...AT ALL...
Spiritstar finished with:
"Skyclan will continue to rebuild and prepare for the coming leaf-bare. Our determination and the hope of our clanmates will guide us forwards. We wish the same for all the clans." Dipping her head once more, she stepped back to rejoin the side of the other leaders, nodding to signify that the report was over. It was not much, but it was enough to satiate her nerves.
Some warriors cheered for the new apprentices, but not a lot...Many ThunderClan cats were scowling at ShadowClan.
~~Lightningstar stepped forward when Spiritstar stepped back and declared that ThunderClan will go next. He announced:
"Thunderclan lost many warriors as we did not get the pleasure of being warned about the fire like every other clan did." Lightningstar shot a cold look towards Cedarstar before continuing. "Ebonytail, Silverfern, Brokenshade, Nightraven, Glassflower, Strikeflight, Cedarfall, Petalsky, Swiftwind we lost in the blaze. We also lost many elders. Burnstrike, Acorntail and Dusk all died in the fire." (12 causalties total).
Swiftstar appeared surprised that ShadowClan didn't warn ThunderClan, but he resisted looking at Cedarstar for an explanation. Warriors of ThunderClan agreed with their leader and blamed ShadowClan for the great loss of life in ThunderClan. Many ShadowClan warriors had bristling pelts at Lightningstar's comment. Cedarstar kept his ears back and he lifted his gaze to meet Lightningstar's, yet he still remained silent.
Oakpaw of ShadowClan didn't like what Lightningstar said or how he looked at Cedarstar. He shouted out, questioning why Lightningstar didn't just take responsibility for his own clan rather than blame ShadowClan. It wasn't ShadowClan's job to make sure ThunderClan was out of harm's way. Many ShadowClan cats shared Oakpaw's sentiments.
Scarletpaw of ThunderClan narrowed her gaze on Oakpaw and stated it was "clearly (ShadowClan's) job to warn every other Clan." Many of her clanmates shared these thoughts. Needless to say, all of ThunderClan felt slighted that ShadowClan didn't warn them like the others, (we tried guys, we really tried).
Duskpaw of ShadowClan came to Oakpaw's defense and stated the fire had spread into ThunderClan too quickly for ShadowClan to send any warning. The risk to their warriors was too great. She continued by calling Cedarstar (her father) the bravest leader ever to live because he risked his life for help as many cats as he could and selflessly sent ShadowClan warriors to warn the other Clans (although, technically it was Cloudscar who sent those warnings because Cedarstar was too crispy too. So, good job Cloud *two thumbs up*)
Tigerpaw of ThunderClan snapped that ShadowClan seemed like they wanted ThunderClan to die since they warned every other Clan except for them. Gustpaw of ThunderClan chimed in with "SkyClan is closer and should've been burned next, but somehow you (ShadowClan) warned them and not us?" (Technically, ThunderClan was closer to the orignal source of the flames and their territory is more flammable with undergrowth rather than SkyClan's rocks, but Gustpaw couldn't know that. This is technically his, Tigerpaw's, and Scarletpaw's first gathering after all. Well done causing drama, newbie apprentices.)
Oakpaw got sassy with Gustpaw by saying: "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize ThunderClan had unlocked the ability to control fire and how it spreads. Maybe next time you should be the ones to warn the other Clans?" (God, I hope there isn't a next time. Also, couldn't you just hear the eyeroll in what Oakpaw said? )
Scarletpaw did not believe the ShadowClan apprentices one bit. She laughed in Duskpaw's face about Cedarstar being the bravest that ever lived because he wasn't the only one to risk his life for his Clan (because Lightningstar lost a life in the fire for his Clan). Gustpaw stated that next time, ThunderClan WILL send warning to every Clan EXCEPT for ShadowClan because that's all they got from ShadowClan. (Because a new apprentice like Gustpaw can totally tell Lightningstar to do that next time. Also, NO NEXT TIME).
The scuffle of the apprentices was starting to turn some heads. Just imagine groans from the senior warriors and mentors lightly panicking when they realize its their apprentice that's causing issues.
Palepaw of ShadowClan came to his sister's (Duskpaw's) defense and snapped at all three of the ThunderClan apprentices. He stated that ShadowClan may not like ThunderClan, but that doesn't mean they want all of ThunderClan to die. The fire had grown too strong and they had lost too many warriors already to risk sending anyone into the blaze of ThunderClan's territory (besides, a patrol would've been late in arriving to ThunderClan since ThunderClan saw the flames before any of the ShadowClan patrols were out). Palepaw insulted ThunderClan by accusing them of thinking the world revolves around them. He declared that Cedarstar (his father) fought through burning brambles to save his clanmates and was the last one out of the flames. He also reminded the ThunderClan apprentices that Cedarstar was one of the ones who helped Lightningstar get his Clan back from Shadeclaw when ThunderClan so foolishly cast him out.
Scarletpaw bared her teeth at Palepaw and told him to stay out of their business. He wasn't at the usurping of Shadeclaw, he doesn't know what happened. She said ThunderClan is loyal to Lightningstar and that he can actually climb a rock. (>.< .....I'm not going to comment.....)
Ohhhhh was Palepaw furious at that (he REALLY admires his father). His hackles came up. His claws came out. He shouted that he doubted Scarletpaw could jump on the Great Rock with burns like Cedarstar's and he declared that not even their "Beloved" Lightningstar could survive what ShadowClan went through. He call ThunderClan nothing but pompous kittypets. (Technically, no one knows what ShadowClan has gone through since ShadowClan has yet to report...). Hollypaw of ShadowClan jumped to her paws to back Palepaw up if a fight broke out.
Sunthroat cut in to save the day! The former deputy of ThunderClan shoved himself between the apprentices and growled for them to stop. He scolded the ThunderClan apprentices by saying that they were disrespecting Lightningstar by allowing this scuffle to interupt his report. He told them to go sit by their mentors and warned that their chores back at came will be increasing this next moon. Tigerpaw reluctantly obeyed Sunthroat while Gustpaw scurried back to his mentor. Scarletpaw looked like she was going to defy the former deputy, but then thought better of it. She gave the ShadowClan apprentices a glare before stalking back to her mentor. Flashfire gave a stern talking to Gustpaw. Featherfoot was gentle but stern with Tigerpaw, while Southmist told Scarletpaw they'd discuss this back at camp. Oakpaw and Palepaw looked like they had a victory when Sunthroat scolded the ThunderClan apprentices. Hollypaw insulted them under her breath. Their victory was short lived, however, as Falcontalon, former deputy of ShadowClan, sent Duskpaw, Hollypaw, Palepaw, and Oakpaw back their own mentors. Cliffheart gave Duskpaw a look of disappointment, but didn't say anything. Palepaw stormed back over to Starrylight (his mother). Sunpaw of ShadowClan was lingering at the edge of the argument and she called ThunderClan "a bunch of entitled brats." She actually talked back to Falcontalon when he sent her to her mentor. He made her sit by him.
Many cats had watched the arguement. Honeypaw of ShadowClan commented about it to his clanmate: Whorlpaw, but she was too distracted with worry to hear him. Ghostscreech, deputy of ThunderClan, had stood up to intervene in the argument, but only shook his head at the apprentices after Sunthroat stepped in. Cedarstar still remained silent. It was hard to tell if he had even heard the argument at all. Many cats in the Clans seemed disappointed that he didn't say anything in response to Lightningstar's accusation. Maplepaw of ShadowClan narrowed his gaze on Cedarstar, thinking that Cedarstar could defend his own honor, and its his own fault for making himself look like a fool.
Feeling he had victory over ShadowClan with Cedarstar's continued silence, Lightningstar continued with his report:
"We do have some good news however. We are rebuilding quickly and our borders are as strong as ever. We also have some new warriors, Frostmoon, Russetfox, and Silverfox." He spoke. "And new apprentices in Dawnpaw, Scarletpaw, and Tigerpaw." He then added. "Orangebreeze has had her kits and we have new elders in Hailstorm, Eagleclaw, and Yarrowcloud."
In the crowd, Flarestorm of SkyClan?? muttered that Eagleclaw and Yarrowcloud weren't old enough to become elders. He wondered if the fire had something to do with it. The new warriors and apprentice's of ThunderClan all stood tall when Lightningstar said their name. Their Clanmates cheered and some RiverClan, WindClan, and SkyClan cats cheered; however, ShadowClan could not show their support only a few of them cheered (Oakstalk grumbled a congratulations, but at least it was something).
When the cheers (and grumble) died down, Lightningstar finished by delcaring:
“Also lastly, Sunthroat has decided to retire as deputy and spend his last few moons before the elders den as a warrior. As such, the new deputy of Thunderclan is Ghostscreech.”
Cats cheered (except ShadowClan). Although, many were surprised that Sunthroat stepped down. Most of us thought the deputy position would have to be pried from his cold, dead claws.
~~Earthstar stepped up next, hoping his report would ease the tension between ThunderClan and ShadowClan and bring a peaceful tone back to the gathering. He said:
"RiverClan, too, has suffered from the fire." he began. "While our camp was protected by the river, we still suffered losses. Rosefrost, Sootfeather, Echosplash, Coppershade, and Mossclaw were all lost in the fire." (5 causalties total)
That's quite odd, don't you think? RiverClan is protected by their waters and yet five warriors were lost? That's more warriors lost than in SkyClan. Earthstar never gave any details on how these cats died, but something's up since his clan reacted rather strangely. Their mourned for their losses, of course, but Ottermask almost appeared guilty. Orchidnight shot a dull and cold look at Ottermask. When Thawfrost asked her about it, she said it was nothing. Reedheart appeared liked he blamed himself for his clanmates' deaths. Specklecreek looked like she was tearing up. There was a weird vibe from the RiverClan cats. Cedarstar didn't notice it; however, he looked curiously at at Earthstar since he figured the river would've protected them more. Lightningstar paid his respects with a dip of his head. Swiftstar dipped his head in a sign of respect, but he did look questioning. Spiritstar didn't react.
Gustpaw of WindClan was trying to get a better look at the five leaders sitting beneath the Great Rock and he accidentally bumped into Arcticpaw of RiverClan. She questioned him, but when she realized he was just trying to get a better view, she scooted over to help him see. They talked quietly throughout the rest of the gathering--introductions and whatnot.
Earthstar continued his report by saying:
"I would also like to address ShadowClan. As we all know, they sent cats out to warn the other Clans of the fire. I would like to mention that they also sent cats to warn us." He turned to Cedarstar and ducked his head. "Thank you." He finished with that.
Needless to say, Lightningstar and ThunderClan were bristling that ShadowClan didn't warn them. Spiritstar listenened calmly and wondered who was going to speak next: Swiftstar or Cedarstar? She also looked up to make sure the sky was clear and no clouds covered the moon. Cedarstar only gave two rapid ear flicks in response to Earthstar. He turned his direction, but his burns wouldn't allow him to fully look at Earthstar. It was hard to tell what was going on in his mind.
~~Swiftstar stepped up next to report. He was confident and announced:
"WindClan was also greatly affected by the fire. Nettlefrost, Swallowfeather, Rainfeather, Cheetahheart and Cloverleaf were all lost in the blaze." He took a moment's pause after calling out his daughter's name. For a brief moment he thought back to when he had announced their birth at a gathering not too dissimilar to this...never had he thought he would be announcing her death so soon. Continuing on, he glanced to Cedarstar. "WindClan's losses would have been much greater had it not been for a warning from ShadowClan, and we are thankful that we were able to have as much time as possible."
WindClan cats bowed their heads at the mention of their losses. Silverspirit pressed against Eclipsesky, medicine cat of WindClan. Swallowfeather was her mother and yet, she also appeared to be tense and anticipating something. Eclispesky laid his tail across Silverspirit. It's strange that Eclipsesky chose to sit with her except for the other medicine cats, but perhaps he's just supporting her through her mourning?
Cloudscar of ShadowClan stared at the ground when Swiftstar spoke the names of the fallen WindClan warriors (I wonder why he cares so much).
It goes unsaid that Lightningstar was bristling at the fact that WindClan thanked Cedarstar like the other Clans had. He did manage to dip his head in respect to WindClan's losses; however. Other warriors of ThunderClan were bristling as well. Cedarstar only looked at Swiftstar in acknowledgement of his words. He still didn't say anything.
Thistlestalk of ShadowClan seemed proud that Swiftstar thanked ShadowClan (he was on the patrol that warned WindClan). He turned to his new apprentice Fuzzypaw and asked her what she thought of the gathering. She replied that it was overwhelming and she wondered if there were always arguments (yes) and were gatherings always this sad? (no). Thistlestalk told her that every Clan suffered in the fire and fights break out in the heat of anger for lost kin. The Clans will be mourning for moons to come, but he promised her next gathering would be completely different (likely).
Swifstar continued with a warning to all the Clans:
"I also come tonight with a warning of my own. One of my warriors, Meadowbrook, was found to be working with the Dark Forest. She was responsible for the banishment of Stormfury, the blinding of Dustfire, and possibly countless other misfortunes that WindClan has faced over these past several moons. This treachery was revealed to Eclipsesky and Dawnshadow by StarClan. I have since banished Meadowbrook, but I warn the other clans tonight that she may still be lingering around your territories and she is not to be trusted." He took another pause before adding another sentence. "I have also spoken with Stormfury to rectify my mistakes."
Cedarstar did not appear surprised to hear of a traitor in WindClan's midst, but he did look intrigued on how Swiftstar so openly admitted his mistakes. Earthstar flattened his ears at the news, he seemed nervous. Lightningstar also remained quiet, but his gaze grew more alert at the mention of the Dark Forest.
Dashclaw of WindClan didn't appear too happy with his leader's report. He looked away to not see the reactions of the other Clans. Eclipsesky hid behind Silverspirit at the mention of Meadowbrook. He looked angry and almost guilty. Brownleaf winced and looked miserably at his clanmates. He was Meadowbrook's mate.
Ottermask of RiverClan grew concerned at the mention of the Dark Forest. First, the Dark Forest usurps Lightningstar by using Shadeclaw and now Meadowbrook had turned against her Clan for their sake? He was worried that the Dark Forest was on the rise once again. Many other cats throughout the clearing were concerned that the Dark forest was on the rise: Thistlestalk of ShadowClan, Shadowblossom of ThunderClan (her son Featherfoot of ThunderClan came over to reassure her), Paleflower of SkyClan?, Sunthroat of ThunderClan. Fuzzypaw of ShadowClan looked confused (she doesn't know the story of AdderClan yet). Thistlestalk told her he would explain back at camp. He reminded her that we are all united under StarClan. The Dark Forest is a common enemy of everyone.
Spottedclaw of WindClan's pelt was prickling at the mention of the Dark Forest. He definitely looked nervous about something and he looked right at Siltpath and Splashstone. Wonder what's up?
Diamondheart, deputy of RiverClan, could not keep quiet (if you know the story of AdderClan, you'd know why RiverClan is so worried). He asked Swiftstar where Meadowbrook was banished towards and if there has been any trace of her since her banishment. He reminded the Clans that if the Dark Forest is involved, this involves all the Clans (yet, RiverClan did nothing when Shadeclaw of ThunderClan and follower of the Dark Forest usurped ThunderClan (SkyClan didn't do anything either)--just saying).
Orchidnight of RiverClan hissed at Brownleaf of WindClan accusing him because he was Meadowbrook's mate. He should've known what she was doing. Brownleaf shrunk and stated he had no idea what his mate was doing, she was good at hiding it. Orchidnight then questioned Brownleaf asking if he was still seeing her when Siltpath of WindClan cut in and defended the tom. He stated no one has seen Meadowbrook since her banishment. Brownleaf stated he would never visit a cat who wanted his clanmates dead, even if it was his mate. Orchidnight didn't believe him. She questioned that Brownleaf would probably support Meadowbrook if she snuck back into the territories. Brownleaf denied it and claimed that it was RiverClan who allowed Adderstar to happen in the first place, they should be more worried about themselves. Tensions rose and insults flew. Ottermask of RiverClan ended up cutting in to break of a fight before it began. He claimed that WindClan dealt with their Dark Forest threatm if any more arise, they'll deal with it again. Ottermask scolded Orchidnight by saying she should be respecting the leaders and their reports and not embarrassing RiverClan by lashing out. Orchidnight only glared coldly at Ottermask. She appeared more bitter toward him than she was with Brownleaf. She made the comment: "Don't talk to me about embarrssing RiverClan, Ottermask..." but she cut off. She glared again at Brownleaf before stalking away. Wonder what she meant by what she said to Ottermask?
Splashstone of WindClan got upset with Stormsplash of RiverClan when his father asked if Splashstone knew Meadowbrook. He stated that he thought Meadowbrook had been his friend, but it doesn't matter anymore. She and the Dark Forest were gone (at least that's what they think).
Sunpaw of ShadowClan asked Closesky and Falcontalon, elders of ShadowClan, if training in the Dark Forest was common. Closesky replied with a summary of the events of AdderClan and how the Dark Forest nearly destroyed the Clans for good. He warned that the Dark Forest tempts cats with power, but their intentions are nothing more than evil. Sunpaw then asked why did the Dark Forest want to destroy the Clans and Closesky replied that cats of the Dark Forest were warriors who fell away from the warrior code. Instead of showing loyalty to their Clan, they only showed loyalty to themselves. They sought their own power and didn't care who they crushed along the way.
Swiftstar ended his report with:
"Meadowbrook was cunning and had the Dark Forest on her side, I will not tolerate any cat of any clan questioning the loyalty of my warriors." He turned towards where Brownleaf and Orchidnight had been squabbling. Wanting to put an end to the whispers, he continued on. "I am also pleased to announce that Harewhisker and Frostpeal also welcomed a litter of kits, Beankit and Dawnkit. Additionally, we have two new apprentices! Larkpaw and Juniperpaw! With that, my report is finished." He stepped back among the other leaders and sat down, wrapping his tail around his paws.
Midnightstream of ThunderClan spoke with her apprentice, Deerpaw, about the gathering.
~~(I (Moonpower) post long posts for Cedarstar...so I'm just gonna plop them here so I don't have to sit there and figure out how to summarize it).
Cedarstar flattened his ears when Swiftstar finished. The moment he had dreaded all night had finally arrived and he swore his pounding heart could be heard by every cat in the clearing. At first, he couldn't get himself to move. Doubt had him crippled. He should've made Cloudscar lead the Clan to this stupid gathering! He should've made Cloudscar face the backlash from ThunderClan and the gratitude from the other Clans. It had been his idea to send the patrols in the first place! Yet, the faces of his lost clanmates came to the front of his mind. The ones he had failed in those flames. I owe it to them to honor their deaths.
Cedarstar slowly rose to his paws. From how long he had been laying, his muscles had grown stiff and his burnt skin grown tight. He braved through the pain to stand on all four paws and with a wince on his face, he lifted his head as high as he could. All night, he had been avoiding meeting the gazes of the cats in the clearing. He didn't want to see how they looked at him. Many were horrified, some pitied him, others--he knew--silently mocked him. He slowly turned his gaze to Spiritstar, then Lightningstar, Earthstar, and Swiftstar. He remembered the numbers they gave. How many names each of them spoke of their clanmates lost in the fire. SkyClan lost three, RiverClan lost five, WindClan lost five, and ThunderClan lost twelve. Cedarstar closed his eyes as the heaviness of grief swept over his heart. I've lost twenty-three...
"This past..." Cedarstar opened his eyes to address the Clans, but his voice came out rough. He had to pause and clear his throat to avoid a scratchy coughing fit brought on by the chill of the night. He tried again. "This past moon has certainly been an active one for all the Clans." With every word, Cedarstar found more of his voice, but that didn't stop his nerves from trembling. "After the last gathering, I took a patrol to WindClan to see the banished Lightningstar and Sunthroat for myself." Cedarstar sideways glanced at the ThunderClan leader. "The events of what occurred at the beginning of this moon have been neglected all night, but ShadowClan remembers. With Swiftstar, myself, and a patrol of WindClan and ShadowClan warriors, Lightningstar and Sunthroat marched back to ThunderClan territory to chase the Dark Forest follower: Shadeclaw from ThunderClan. When we arrived, rogues had ambushed ThunderClan's camp, but with our combined strength, we were able to chase them and Shadeclaw out of ThunderClan for good." Cedarstar looked Lightningstar right in the eye. "And return Lightningstar to his rightful place as ThunderClan's leader." Cedarstar took a breath to say more, but the stirring breeze brought a tickle to his throat and he cut off with a cough.
Lightningstar narrowed his eyes at Cedarstar for bringing all that up, but he didn't say anything. Diamondheart, deputy of RiverClan, murmured to himself, interested in what had happened since Shadeclaw led ThunderClan last gathering and no one explained why Lightningstar was back to leading it now. The RiverClan deputy gave his leader a look and when Earthstar caught that look, he nodded. The two obviously had something they wanted to talk about. Ghostscreech, deputy of ThunderClan tensed at the mention of Shadeclaw, he seemed annoyed at the fact that ThunderClan still owed ShadowClan for that. Swiftstar glanced at Cedarstar, he seemed to have mixed feelings about what was going on.
Scarlettpaw of ThunderClan growled to herself, beliving that ThunderClan didn't owe ShadowClan anything. Others like Hornetstrike withheld their judgement. Sunthroat suspected something deeper going on with Cedarstar since he was bringing all this up.
Goldberry of ShadowClan was uneased at the tension. Duskpaw glared at Scarletpaw while Starrylight, Cedarstar's mate, was trying to catch Cedarstar's eye to reassure him with a supporting look. Fuzzypaw was interested in Cedarstar's story, not having known what happened between ThunderClan and ShadowClan back then.
~~(and another long post for Cedarstar, my apologizes)
Cedarstar took no one speaking out after his coughing fit as a blessing. He knew his words were bold, but he wanted to make sure he acknowledged everything his Clan had done this pass moon and give ShadowClan the recognition it deserved, especially since...I don't want to do this! Cedarstar grit his teeth. His gaze faltered from the cats around him and his eyes grew red with the burning of his grief. He couldn't avoid the topic everyone wanted to hear. The other Clans didn't know how the fire started, how ShadowClan suffered so greatly. They didn't know the risks that were taken just to warn three of the four other Clans and why ThunderClan had to be abandoned to themselves. Cedarstar closed his eyes for a moment in an attempt to pull himself together. StarClan must truly disapprove of him for making his Clan suffer so.
"The Great Fire began in the deepest parts of ShadowClan territory." Cedarstar didn't lift his gaze. He didn't want to see the sorrow of his own clanmates or the condemnation of the other Clans. When he spoke, he had to force his words to remain strong. "Goldberry and Tumblefoot witnessed a twoleg contraption explode before their very eyes--I thank StarClan neither were harmed because of it." He briefly flicked his gaze over to the two warriors, but then focused his eyes on a point no one else could see. "The explosion shook ShadowClan territory and fire leapt to the pines. It was nearly on us by the time Goldberry and Tumblefoot could warn us. We evacuated here to Fourtrees, but..." Cedarstar's voice cracked with his grief. He had to pause and take a breath, but his ears were flat against his head and his body was trembling. StarClan, he could still envision it. Those haunting flames that stalked his nightmares. He could picture every one of his fallen clanmates. He could still hear the way Owlshadow screamed when the den collapsed on her. Still see how Quailfrost and Roseleaf were curled around each other after suffocating on smoke and still feel the weight of Crowfur's dead body as he tried to drag him out of the flames...but he was too late. Cedarstar lifted his gaze to the starry sky. Twenty-three new StarClan cats were looking down on them tonight. I failed them all.
"Scorchfire, Icefire, Tatteredleg, Raggedthorn, Ribbondance, Mosspaw, Onyxheart, Roseleaf, Quailfrost, Cottonfur, Crowfur, Viperfang..." Cedarstar swallowed tightly when his voice began cracking once again. Just to get the names out, he had to steel himself. His words sounded hollow, but his heart was shattered. "Shadedpine, Ravenpaw, Mothpaw, Owlshadow, Marshsong, Mistsong, Redspark, Heartkit, Shinekit, Pineflower, and Oceanstorm..." Cedarstar turned his gaze downward, each name seeming to echo throughout the hollow. "They all died over the past moon." He turned his gaze to Lightningstar, too overcome by grief to even care if his words offended or not. What did it matter anyway? ThunderClan would alway hate them. "By the time my Clan was safe at Fourtrees and we could even consider warning anyone about the fire, the flames had already spread too far into ThunderClan territory. ShadowClan could not risk losing anymore cats to warn your ungrateful hides."
The amount of deaths in ShadowClan silenced the clearing. You could feel the grief that resonated off every ShadowClan cat and many cats of other Clans were taken aback by the length of the list. Some ThunderClan warriors didn't take too kindly to Cedarstar's insult, but while some let it slide off their backs, others bitterly held onto it. Swiftstar blinked in shock at the list of ShadowClan's dead. He had seen ShadowClan's camp when he had visited, but he had assumed the quietness of the camp was because everyone was out gathering items to repair their home...not because they were dead. Swifstar pitied Cedarstar. Ghostscreech, deputy of ThunderClan, was taken aback in shock at all the cats ShadowClan lost. He seemed to understand now, why ShadowClan couldn't warn ThunderClan like the others. Earthstar ducked his head in respect of the lost cats of ShadowClan, he hadn't seen such a lost since the Dark Battle against AdderClan.
Lightningstar, leader of ThunderClan, bristled at Cedarstar's last comment and he had to stop himself from growling back at the ShadowClan leader. He didn't say a word to at least honor the lost in a moment of silence, but only for a moment.
Snowdance, medicine cat of ShadowClan, hung her head. She must be thinking of something back at camp.
~~(And Cedarstar again:)
"As much as ShadowClan has suffered," Cedarstar looked away from Lightningstar, disappointed in the older leader's reaction. "We still survive. Pearlkit was born of Falcontalon and Roseleaf and is now being nursed by Songbreeze. Jaysong has had Kestrelgaze's kits: Hawkkit, Thrushkit, Larkkit, and Cranekit! Mouseclaw and Spiderfang discovered a lone kit after the flames died out and have adopted it. Rowanpaw, Strikepaw, Maplepaw, and Fuzzypaw are now apprentices! Tumblefoot, Burninghope, Vixenflame, and Hazelblaze are ShadowClan's newest warriors!" He paused to allow recognition to his clanmates. He knew his next words wouldn't sit well with anyone in the clearing, but he didn't have a choice. "The Great Fire damaged ShadowClan territory far more than any of the other Clans." Cedarstar kept his ears back, but he held his head up. "Prey still, has yet to return and leaf-bare is on the way." He took a deep breath. "Therefore, until our territory has the chance to recover, ShadowClan lays claim to Fourtrees as a hunting ground! We will guard it as our own for the next couple moons and only allow Clans to access it during gatherings!" Cedarstar looked to the other leaders. "No one uses Fourtrees outside of gatherings. Therefore, it should be no issue for ShadowClan to hunt in this small patch of land that we may provide for ourselves."
No one liked the fact that Cedarstar claimed Fourtrees for ShadowClan. Spiritstar (who didn't react at all to anything else in Cedarstar's report), spoke up and stated that the claim may not be plausible as Fourtrees is considered neutral ground under the will of StarClan. She claimed she understood his desire to do this; however, she asked that he consider how StarClan would likely not accept this move. She did say that ShadowClan would have no issue from SkyClan; however.
Swiftstar snapped his attention back on Cedarstar. He was quick to agree with Spiritstar and stated that if anything every Clan should have claim to Fourtrees as they all lost territory and leaf-bare is coming on all of them.
Lightningstar stepped forward to enforce what Spiritstar and Swifstar said. He stated he could not allow ShadowClan to take Fourtrees all for themselves.
Earthstar didn't say anything. He appeared conflicted when he looked up at the sky to see if clouds covered the moon.
Many cats in the Clans were bristling. Most believed ShadowClan shouldn't take Fourtress while ShadowClan felt they had every right to it. Silverspirit of WindClan muttered with Eclispesky about the claim. She said that since half of ShadowClan died in the fire, they don't need more territory to feed their fewer mouths. (rude).
Honeypaw of ShadowClan raised his voice above the clearing. He stated that no clouds were covering the moon (the night was clear). If StarClan truly didn't disapprove of Cedarstar's intent, then they would have covered the clouds. He went on to say what's stopping other clans from using territory that borders their clans to secure prey? Don't other clans hunt in twoleggedplace, old dens, and highstones? The fire was a terrible thing to hit right before Leaf-bare and he reminded the Clans that it is against the warrior code to allow harm to come to kits, which is what would happen to ShadowClan if we are barred from Fourtrees to hunt. (As an apprentice, no one wanted to listen to him. It was only Cedarstar that acknowledged what he said).
"Was that Great Fire the will of StarClan?" Cedarstar sharply looked at Spiritstar, his ears fallen back. "Was it the will of StarClan that ShadowClan territory be decimated and twenty-three of its members--kits included--be burned alive in that blaze?!" He swept his gaze over to the other leaders. "I am not asking for Fourtrees permanently, I am taking it temporarily! The rest of you don't need it! You haven't even realized that ShadowClan has marked Fourtrees as our territory since the fire went out." He looked over at Spiritstar. "SkyClan's prey is mostly birds and they easily escaped the fire. Besides, the walk it would take you to reach Fourtress along the border wouldn't be worth the little prey you find here." He looked at Earthstar. "You reported RiverClan's territory survived the fire and your streams are always full of fish, Fourtrees is nothing to you. WindClan has the ability to chase prey out from under the ground." Cedarstar looked at Swiftstar next, knowing of WindClan's tunnelers from his time as a kit. "No rabbits burrow here in Fourtrees." He narrowed his gaze and looked at Lightningstar. "And don't get me started on the abundant variety of prey that ThunderClan is so blessed with." He looked out across the Clans. "Fourtrees is too small a territory for any of you to bother with; however, ShadowClan benefits from every scrap we can find." Cedarstar looked in the direction he heard Honeypaw's voice. He couldn't see the young tom from his position, but he couldn't agree more. "Honeypaw is right." Cedarstar looked at the other leaders, his tail waving with a bit of challenge. "ShadowClan can't take advantage of highstones like WindClan can or much of the twoleggedplace like RiverClan and SkyClan, but we can take the small land of Fourtrees to help us survive the coming leaf-bare."
Lightningstar was quick to speak against Cedarstar. Stating: “You act as if you’re clan is the only who has suffered. I am sorry for the loss of your clanmates Cedarstar. I truly am ???, but with that loss you have much less mouths to feed. Thunderclan territory has been destroyed as well and would benefit from this territory as well. We may he prey rich but much as died and now we have nothing as well. As I stated before Starclan has always willed this as neutral territory and it should stay that way.”
Swiftstar lashed his tail, seeming angered by something that Cedarstar said (none of the Clans know of WindClan's tunnelers except for ShadowClan. ShadowClan only found out because WindClan and ShadowClan resided together at Highstones when AdderClan was taking over the forest). Swifstar argued: "And what if I laid claim to Highstones? No leader or medicine cat could visit until some undetermined time in the future when I just decided to release it? You all would claw my ears off, and rightfully so. There are places in the forest that are sacred to us all."
Earthstar didn't say anything, but he did lash his tail.
Spiritstar remained quiet as well out of indecision. She didn't want to give up neutral territory designated by StarClan, but StarClan was showing no signs of disapproving of this.
Honeypaw of ShadowClan spoke up again, calling the other leaders illogical. He stated the five Clans would not survive if one were wiped out due to their refusal to bend tradition for one leaf-bare.
Cedarstar was not happy...
"How dare you." Cedarstar bared his teeth at Lightningstar. The ThunderClan leader had some nerve making a comment like that. "You think just because my clan has lost more cats than you, that we don't need more territory? Well, we also lost most of our territory. How dare you say something so cold, Lightningstar. Perhaps, every leaf-bare when you and the other CLans squabble for territory, you should just kill off your own members so that others could be fed?! ShadowClan is laying claim to Fourtrees for only a few lousy moons and you're all acting as if we're trying to take over the forest!" He lashed his tail, then glared at Swiftstar. "Every Clan leader and medicine cat has a right to Highstones in order to visit StarClan. Fourtrees is NOT Highstones. It is a small piece of territory that is only used once very full moon. My warriors risked their lives to warn your clans!" Cedarstar's pelt bristled when he looked at Earthstar, Spiritstar, and Swiftstar. He then glared at Lightningstar. "And we went out of our way to make sure you remained as ThunderClan's leader! And yet, instead of respecting my claim to Fourtrees for a couple of moons, you would rather see us STARVE!" He lashed his tail again and shot one last glare at each of the leaders. See, if I ever you any of you again!
Sunpaw of ShadowClan growled in wondering if Lightningstar was that stupid. Less mouths to feed also means less hunters to hunt, plus the fact that many in ShadowClan are still injured. She called him dense.
Lightningstar narrowed his eyes at Cedarstar. “Yes your warning which just so happened to leave us out. I am grateful for your help with the rogues but that debt is over.” He spoke. “You cannot have the fourtrees. It is neutral territory to us all.” He spoke. “Or perhaps Thunderclan will hunt here as well since we lost many clanmates and our territory. “You can hunt in the twoleg place or outside your territory but taking the fourtrees is just a stepping stone. Perhaps then you’ll take more territory to feed your mouths.”
Swiftstar shook his head. "You have no right to claim Fourtrees Cedarstar, or if you do then we all have an equal claim as leaders. ShadowClan's territory already covers more land than any other clan, in addition you have the crowfoodplace as well as a twolegplace of your own. WindClan's entire territory went up in flames because there were no trees to slow the spread of the fire. If you have a claim to Fourtrees, then so does WindClan."
"We did all we could." Cedarstar looked Lightningstar in the eye. "I could not risk more lives to warn your Clan and you know that Lightningstar, you're the one who is choosing to hold a grudge about it." He looked from the ThunderClan leader to the other leader before allowing his gaze to sweep out across the clans. Cedarstar lashed his tail and he raked his claws into the ground. He would be heard. He had to do everything he could to help his Clan survive. Besides, what kind of leader would he be if he backed down now? Without a word, and anger driving his heart, Cedarstar turned to the Great Rock. He gathered every bit of strength that he had and he jumped up on the rock, landing right on top of it.
"When this Gathering is over tonight, Fourtrees will belong to ShadowClan and it will remain as ShadowClan's until our territory has grown back enough to sustain our Clan!" Cedarstar lifted his voice across the clearing, meeting every eye. "The other Clans will only be permitted here on gathering nights! We take this land as payment for the debts owed to us by all the Clans!"
Spiritstar finally made up her mind, internally cursing the stubbornness that always seemed to swamp the minds of toms. If they did not work this out soon, then they very well could earn punishment from Starclan. She lifted her chin, raising her voice.
“The fire has made us all suffer. We have all lost clanmates, and territory, and leafbare will cripple us all if we do not solve this civilly. Lightningstar, there was no need to speak of the losses of Shadowclan Warriors like that. Cedarstar, take a breath for a moment. Surely there is an easier way to solve this than to argue with such scathing retorts.” She looked around at all the cats, silver fur gleaming in the moonlight.
“...Yes. This territory is neutral...yet it is also true that Highstones and other neutral territories have sheltered us before. I am not saying Shadowclan can ever truly claim this land. But, I do offer a solution. A test trial, if possible. Shadowclan uses the land around Fourtrees to hunt, while we all take advantage of our own areas outside of our borders. We allow this for one moon, and in that moon we await to see if any of our medicine cats receive a sign that Starclan denies this temporary claim. If any is received, we follow the order of Starclan and remove the claim. If not, then we allow usage until leafbare ends, where we then will immediately end Shadowclan’s claim to hunting.” She offered, not wanting to see a fight break out.
(She was pretty much ignored as:)
Lightningstar looked at Cedarstar in anger. He had some nerve doing that. He lashed his tail and growled up to him. “If you haven’t left the fourtrees by new leaf, Thunderclan will force you out.” He turned and called to his clan. “Thunderclan! Let’s leave.”
ThunderClan followed Lightningstar out of Fourtrees, their pelts bristling at how the gathering had ended.
Swiftstar watched Lightningstar depart with the rest of ThunderClan, and turned his gaze back to Cedarstar and Spiritstar for a moment before turning back to the rest of the clearing. "This gathering is over." he called, a bit too late since ThunderClan was already halfway out of the clearing. "WindClan, let's go home." He began to pad out of the clearing.
WindClan swiftly followed their leader.
Earthstar watched the others leave, thinking about what he was going to do when they returned to camp. "RiverClan! We're going." he called, leading them out of Fourtrees.
RiverClan followed after Earthstar, many thinking the gathering was a disaster.
“Skyclan!” Spiritstar called up, waving her tail. “We make leave for camp.” She ordered, glancing up once at Cedarstar before mewing lightly to him. “Starclan guide your paws, Cedarstar...I only ask that you hold faith. Skyclan will not be your enemy, not after you aided us...I pray Starclan will allow you here.” She promised, before turning to lead her clan away.
SkyClan left the clearing.
ShadowClan was the only Clan left.
~~Cedarstar watched the other leaders leave with narrow eyes. Watching Lightningstar depart, nothing but anger broiled within him. The foxheart. I risked my warriors for his precious leadership and this is how he repays us? They would've warned ThunderClan, but it was too late. ShadowClan had to put themselves first and obviously ThunderClan couldn't see that. How many cats. Cedarstar looked back through the crowd toward his own clanmates. How many more cats would we had to lose just to get him to see outside his own selfishness? Cedarstar lashed his tail and looked to the other leaders when they departed. He wasn't afraid of Lightningstar.
Watching Swiftstar depart, Cedarstar only huffed to himself. He had been impressed with the other leader when he arrived at their camp to apologize to Stormfury and when he jump so swiftly down from the Great Rock when Cedarstar fell, but those feelings were gone now. ShadowClan comes first, Cedarstar reminded himself, and it seemed like ShadowClan would stand alone for the moons to come.
When Earthstar departed, Cedarstar finally realized the older tom had fallen mostly silent during his claim on fourtrees. We'll have to keep an eye on RiverClan, Cedarstar flicked his ear twice in light concern. ThunderClan was making it known that they won't stand for this. They'd had to protect Fourtrees if they were going to keep it as a hunting ground, but if RiverClan attacked them as well...Is this scrap of land worth the lives of any more of my clanmates? Cedarstar sighed heavily. Fourtrees wasn't big enough to be their salvation through leaf-bare. They'd still have to rely on the loners in twoleggedplace, still have to be creative in their hunting techniques, but their territory was blacker than the night sky while Fourtrees was spared. They'd likely find more prey here than anywhere else. Swiftstar claimed we had the carrionplace to help feed ourselves, Cedarstar huffed. The fool doesn't realize that's where the fire started in the first place.
Cedarstar's eyes narrowed on Spiritstar when she addressed him. He didn't say anything and only tapped his tail. StarClan guide them? Where has StarClan even been all this time? They allow ShadowClan to suffer while sparing the other Clans and have left ShadowClan with no prey for the coming leafbare! Cedarstar scoffed. StarClan had no choice but to allow ShadowClan to take Fourtrees.
Cedarstar ordered his Clan to fill the clearing with ShadowClan scent. Fourtrees now belonged to them.
(Occurred January 17th, 2019)
~~ThunderClan arrived to the gathering first! However, they were led by Shadeclaw and Brokenshade instead of Lightningstar, weird. Shadeclaw appeared all too pleased to be the first ones to arrive. He bounded up on the Great Rock without hesitation.
~~ShadowClan arrived next. However, they were led by Cedarstorm and Cloudscar rather than Northstar. Cedarstorm bounded up on the Great Rock, appearing to steel his courage beforepaw. With narrow eyes, he addressed Shadeclaw, asking where Lightningstar was without bothering to give a proper greeting. Shadeclaw bluntly corrected Cedarstorm by calling himself Shadestar. He announced that Lightningstar was a traitor and was banished from ThunderClan. Too curious for his own good, Cedarstorm continued to pry, assuming the same fate had occurred to Sunthroat as well. He asked what had both deputy and leader done to deserve banishment? Shadestar simply replied that Lightningstar and Sunthroat failed to protect their Clan and he was chosen by StarClan to lead ThunderClan. Cedarstorm didn't appear convinced, but he didn't press the matter further.
~~Swiftstar led WindClan to the gathering. He didn't appear surprised by Shadestar sitting upon Great Rock, but he didn't address the ThunderClan cat either. Instead, Swiftstar dipped his head to Cedarstorm in greeting, inquiring about his nine lives ceremony. Cedarstar replied it went well enough and awkwardly inquired if WindClan was doing well. Swiftstar simply replied that WindClan had much to be thankful for during the leaf-bare. When not talking with the other leaders, Cedarstar appeared rather awkward and out of place.
Stormfury of ShadowClan chatted with his sister Silverspirit of WindClan. He introduced his apprentice, Whorlpaw, to her.
Cats mingled, asking each other about their Clans. Condolences for Northstar were given out. The WindClan cats didn't seem too surprised to be seeing Shadestar upon the Great Rock and not Lightningstar.
Ravenpaw of ShadowClan explored everything. She even climbed trees. Palepaw of ShadowClan tried to get her to stop acting so foolishly, but she wanted to explore everything. Even when Palepaw threatened to tell her mentor, Talltalon, or warn that Ravenpaw would fall, the energetic she-cat just kept climbing. You'd think she was from SkyClan. Sunpaw of ShadowClan, Ravenpaw's sister even came over to call her sister down, threatening that Talltalon, Cedarstar, or Sunpaw herself would kill her if she didn't. Ravenpaw refused to listen to them, too caught up in the wonder of the sights. Palepaw eventually told Cloudscar, ShadowClan deputy, and he had to tell Ravenpaw twice to come down before she finally did. Cloudscar warned Ravenpaw that she was embarrassing ShadowClan and with it being Cedarstar's first gathering, the other Clans already saw them as weak. He threatened that if she acted up again, she would be escorted back to ShadowClan's camp.
Shadestar inquired to Cedarstar about Northstar's death and in return Cedarstar inquired further about Lightningstar. Swiftstar wouldn't address Shadestar. He barely even looked at him. Swiftstar did speak kind words to Cedarstar, noting the new ShadowClan leader's nervousness.
Blacktail and Cloudscar, deputies of WindClan and ShadowClan talked about how they were the oldest deputies in the forest, before changing topics to whatever was going on in ThunderClan.
~~(Due to Jewelspirit's dead computer, Icefire15 took over Spiritstar to rp for SkyClan at the gathering)
Spiritstar led SkyClan to the gathering. She greeted the leaders by saying it was a surprise to see Shadeclaw and Cedarstorm upon Great Rock. Cedarstar kindly informed her that Northstar had passed on to StarClan. Swiftstar greeted her by asking how SkyClan prey was running (Which SkyClan's prey doesn't run, it flies
). Spiritstar offered her condolences to Cedarstar about Northstar, who accepted them silently. Then Spiritstar told Swiftstar that prey was plentiful before inquiring about WindClan. Swiftstar realized that he hadn't given his condolences about Northstar yet. He spoke sincerely when he called Northstar a great and noble leader and claimed that the Forest felt strange without her. He even admitted that WindClan held a moment of silence in her honor when they heard about her death. Northstar had been wise and compassionate to all. Cedarstar was taken aback by Swifstar's words. Not knowing what else to say, Cedarstar expressed his gratitude and commented that Northstar would feel honored that WindClan took a moment of silence to honor her memory.
Spiderpaw, medicine cat of SkyClan, spoke with Snowdance, medicine cat of ShadowClan about injured warriors and kittings. Spiderpaw boasted his skills.
Many warriors continued to discuss what was going on in each Clan. Patchriver of WindClan spoke with Closesky of ShadowClan. Oakstalk of ShadowClan spoke with Cheetahheart of WindClan. Stormeye of ThunderClan spoke with Houndthroat of ShadowClan. Cloudscar, deputy of ShadowClan, congratulated Brokenshade, Shadestar's deputy, on his new position. Scorchfire of ShadowClan urged his clanmate, Yarrowbloom, to enjoy herself. The she-cat felt down about Northstar's death.
Owlpaw of WindClan stumbled over Silverpaw of ThunderClan, overwhelmed by all the cats. They ended up talking about Clan differences and training. Palesparrow of SkyClan spoke with Kinkfire of ShadowClan about Cedarstar then discussed what was going on in ThunderClan.
~~Earthstar finally led RiverClan to the Gathering! He didn't seem bothered by being the last Clan to arrive, and he didn't seem surprised to see Shadestar upon the Great Rock. However, he did give a confused look at Cedarstar, having not heard the news about Northstar. Cedarstar dipped his head in greeting, but said nothing. Earthstar had to ask if Northstar had joined StarClan and Cedarstar nodded, saying that he leads ShadowClan now in her honor. Earthstar commented that Northstar would be missed, but then said that now is the time for Cedarstar to lead his own legacy. Cedarstar awkwardly nodded back to him and inquired about RiverClan. Never once did Earthstar look at Shadestar, but he proudly announced that Frostlake recently had his kits back in RiverClan. Cedarstar and Swiftstar congratulated him. Earthstar admitted to feeling old after watching his first litter grow to warriors and Cedarstar admitted he felt similar after making his own kits into apprentices. It felt like they were just born. Earthstar nodded in agreement, stating that his grandkits were just made apprentices and now he was having another litter. He teasingly asked if that's what happens when you become leader and Cedarstar didn't actually have a reply for that, just kinda awkwardly sitting there and glancing at one of the other leaders to say something.
Deadpath of RiverClan, formerly of SkyClan, kept to himself to not draw any attention from the SkyClan cats.
Koipaw of RiverClan and Streakpaw of WindClan boasted about their skills to each other. Ghostscreech of ThunderClan weaved through the crowd, trying to pick up on information--about what, no one knows. Pheasantcry of SkyClan spotted to him and struck up a conversation.
Eclipsesky, medicine cat of WindClan, boasted about his apprentice: Dawnshadow receiving her full warrior name. His constant pride was getting on Spiderpaw's nerves.
Cloudscar, deputy of ShadowClan, excused himself from the other deputies and got up to go talk to Swallowfeather of WindClan. Swifstar noticed this and narrowed his eyes in suspicion. Cloudscar informed Swallowfeather that her son Stormfury was doing well in ShadowClan, he had a mate expecting his kits and one of Cedarstar's daughters as his apprentice. Swallowfeather asked about ShadowClan and Cloudscar told her they were taking Northstar's death pretty hard. She asked about ShadowClan's deputy and he explained it was him. The two spoke very hush hush after that. When Cloudscar left Swallowfeather's side and returned to his place below Great Rock, Swiftstar turned to Cedarstar, questioning him about his deputy choice, saying that Cloudscar was an "interesting choice." But then Swiftstar stated it made since given recent events. Not sure what those recent events were, Cedarstar informed him that Cloudscar was the Clan's most senior warrior and he valued the tom's wisdom and loyalty, he assumed Swiftstar chose Blacktail for those same reasons. Swiftstar nodded and again called Cloudscar an interesting choice before brushing off the conversation by stating that Cloudscar would make an excellent deputy. Cedarstar confirmed his confidence in Cloudscar, but remained suspicious as to why Swiftstar even brought it up in the first place.
Featherpaw of RiverClan walked up to Springpaw of WindClan to say hi and ended up startling Springpaw. They talked about gathering rules.
Hazelear of WindClan greeted Nettlesplash of RiverClan. They talked about kits and prey. Hazelear then invited her brother Swiftsun over. The three made friends.
Pinefeather of ShadowClan greeted Cedarfall and Webstripe of ThunderClan, neither ThunderClan cat appeared like they wanted to talk. Pinefeather asked about how prey was fairing. When Pinefeather asked about ThunderClan, two ThunderClan warriors flustered and told her everything was fine. Eventually, they admitted that Lightningstar and Sunthroat were banished for being disloyal to ThunderClan.
Sunpaw of ShadowClan was very bored, she ended up speaking with Troutpaw, medicine cat apprentice of RiverClan, inquiring as to why Troutpaw wanted to be a medicine cat.
Articpaw of RiverClan conversed with Russetpaw of ThunderClan. Articpaw noticed that Russetpaw seemed a bit depressed.
Talltalon of ShadowClan scolded his apprentice, Ravenpaw, for climbing the trees.
Diamondheart, deputy of RiverClan, joined the other deputies.
Flarestorm of SkyClan greeted Smokewisp of WindClan.
Slateheart of SkyClan greeted Sparrowstrike of ThunderClan. Sparrowstrike proudly told him he was a warrior.
Peachdaple, medicine cat of ThunderClan, located Specklecreek, medicine cat of RiverClan to congratulate her on getting her full name and a new apprentice. Eclipsesky was still going on about Dawnshadow...
Rainfeather and Splashstone of WindClan noticed Stormsplash of RiverClan across the crowd. Rainfeather did her best to avoid him while Splashstone stared daggers into his pelt. When Stormsplash realized they were staring at him, he just gave them an awkward smile. Rainfeather worked up the courage to go talk to him, her kits: Splashstone and Furyflame at her side. Neither Splashstone nor Furyflame appeared too thrilled to see Stormsplash...weird.
Stormfury of ShadowClan led his apprentice, Whorlpaw, and mate, Cherryvine, over to Eclipsesky, medicine cat of WindClan to introduce them to his old friend. Eclipsesky faltered a bit when he realized Stormfury had a mate and kits, but he faked happiness for him. Eventually, he admitted that he had hoped Stormfury would someday return to WindClan, but with Cherryvine expecting his kits and Whorlpaw as his apprentice, that dream of Eclipsesky's was shattered. They ended up parting ways. Eclipsesky headed back to the medicine cats, Whorlpaw went to find her siblings, and Stormfury and Cherryvine padded off to find Swallowfeather, Stormfury's mother.
~~Spiritstar nodded to each of the leaders, before stepping up to the edge of the Great Rock. She yowled for the gathering to begin.
Spiritstar waited for a moment for everyone to quiet down before starting her report, her voice carrying strongly across Fourtrees: "SkyClan has been doing well! The prey is bountiful and our patrols strong. We have had some new apprentices, Frostpaw, Mudpaw and Dewpaw. Splashecho and Jadefeather have had their kits and all are healthy and strong!" She said, letting her gaze sweep through the crowd. "SkyClan is as strong as ever and ready for anything!" Once done, she stepped back for a different leader to go.
Cedarstar only nodded in reply to Spiritstar, though he seemed distracted in his own thoughts, tail constantly flicking. Many cats cheered out from the crowd.
~~Earthstar nodded in mutual respect to Spiritstar, then stepped forward to give his report:
“RiverClan is doing well. We have many new litters of kits in the past moon, seven new apprentices, and four new warriors.” He named each of the cats that ascended in rank. “With our growing Clan, we have also regained control of Sunningrocks to help feed the Queens.” he paused for a moment. “It has been cold, but the river hasn’t let up on prey. Overall, no bad news.”
Cedarstar listened with idle interest, he looked curiously at Shadestar to see the ThunderClan leader's reaction to RiverClan gaining Sunningrocks.
RiverClan cats swelled with pride when Earthstar mentioned them. Cats from other Clans cheered; however, ThunderClan didn't look too pleased at Earthstar's announcement about Sunningrocks.
~~When Earthstar stepped back, he nodded to Cedarstar to go:
Cedarstar stared back at Earthstar for long moments when the RiverClan leader invited him to speak. He felt his throat go dry, but was somehow keeping his fur laying flat. Every eye turned to look at him. Earthstar stepped back to sit upon the Great Rock and all gazes trained right on Cedarstar. Oh, StarClan, don't let me mess this up. His paws were lightly trembling, not too noticeable, but he felt it. The ShadowClan leader took a step forward, swallowing tightly when he met the eyes of all the cats below. They're all frog-brains. He recollected what Cloudscar had told him back at camp. Every cat except his own clanmates were frog-brains and he belonged up here. In the moment the silence lingered on, Cedarstar spotted his mate and kits down below. Starrylight's eyes ever shining up at him with love in their gaze. The wonder of his kits when they looked back at their own father. Cedarstar took a deep breath to steel his courage. Even his father, Closesky, and Falcontalon were nodding to him in encouragement.
"ShadowClan is fairing well. I regret to inform the Clans that Northstar has passed on to StarClan! She lost her last life in camp surrounded by what she loved most. I know the whole forest grieves for her loss." Cedarstar glanced briefly at Swiftstar, remembering what the WindClan tom had told him about WindClan's moment of silence. "After Northstar's passing, I went to the Moonstone and received my nine lives." He nodded down toward the bottom of the Great Rock. "I chose Cloudscar as my deputy. Even though Northstar is no longer with us, ShadowClan still remains strong as we live on in her honor! Jaysong is expecting Kestrelgaze's kits, Cherryvine is expecting Stormfury's kits, and Leaffrost has had Ratmask's kits! ShadowClan has new apprentices in Crystalpaw, Coalpaw, Honeypaw, Sproutpaw, Ravenpaw, Sunpaw, Whorlpaw, Palepaw, and Duskpaw!" He stood taller when he spoke the names of his own kits. "We also have new warriors in Houndthroat, Gingerstripe, Spicefang, Lunarlight, Robinflight, and Foxshadow! Prey is running well in ShadowClan and sickness has been held back this leaf-bare! ShadowClan has had the brief issue of rogues trespassing on our territory; however, our warriors have chased them out with the fury of TigerClan!" He looked each leader in the eye, heart pounding a hundred miles an hour. "Our borders are strong and our warriors are stronger! ShadowClan will not tolerate any trespassers. If every Clan keeps to their own borders, so shall we." He looked back out across the Clans, tail flicking behind him. With a curt nod, Cedarstar stepped back, looking to either Shadestar or Swifstar to go next.
The cats of ShadowClan sat tall and proud when their names were announced by their new leader. Members of the other Clans started with surprise when they heard of Northstar's passing, and a few even bowed their heads in a moment of respect for the former leader. Swiftstar flicked his tail with interest when it was announced that Stormfury's mate was going to have kits. Stormfury having been formerly of WindClan and all. A couple cats did bristle at Cedarstar's challenge about the borders, but no one said anything.
~~Shadeclaw stepped forward when Cedarstar moved back. He stood tall, moving to his place at the front of the great rock. He looked down at the cats below him. Arrogance washed over him, ha! He would finally gain all their respect. He'd show them all he was strong, no one would question him. With the arrogance came a small slimmer of fear however, never having spoken in front of so many cats. He opened his mouth to speak after a brief pause. "The days of Lightningstar are no more! He has betrayed his clan, leaving our borders unprotected and breaking the warrior code. Starclan sent a sign that I, Shadestar, was the true leader of Thunderclan." He spoke. "He has been exiled along with Sunthroat."
He let that sink in a moment before continuing. "Thunderclan is stronger now then ever! Rogues attacked our border, killing Ryefeather and Sandstream but we chased them off quickly and easily." Shadeclaw continued. "Our borders are strong now. We also have new apprentices and warriors. Forestpaw, Chestnutpaw, Gustpaw, Swallowpaw, Russetpaw, Silverpaw, Specklepaw, Mosspaw, Frostpaw are all now apprentices. Our new warriors are Sparrowstrike, Applefur, Brackenfire, Honeydapple, Webstripe, Southmist, and Cloudysky." He announced. "As well as Vixenrose has had Flamestrike's kits and Mistlight has had Viperfang's kits." He spoke. Before stepping back Shadeclaw made one last announcement. "In addition, Fallenfeather has been banished for visiting the twolegplace and then attacking Flamestrike when he found out." Shadeclaw then stepped back. He made no mention of the other banishing and kicking out the wounded warriors.
Cedarstar didn't seem too thrilled about Shadestar shoving his way to the front of the Great Rock, what Shadestar said about the rogues made his fur prickle. Earthstar looked as if he thought Shadestar was full of himself. Many cats in the Clans struggled to believe that StarClan would choose Shadestar over Lightningstar, the other Clans mostly knowing Lightningstar and his deputy Sunthroat to be honorable cats. A couple ShadowClan cats looked at Shadestar with disdain, thinking that Shadestar thought himself as StarClan's gift to the Clans. A few WindClan cats bristled at what Shadestar said about Fallenfeather. Many ThunderClan cats puffed out their chest in pride for their leader. However, a few ThunderClan warriors were even bristling at what their leader said, huh, wonder if Shadestar left something unsaid?
~~Swiftstar eyed Shadestar when he stepped up to speak:
“WindClan has been faring well.” He said. “Dovestep stepped down from her place as deputy, and I have chosen Blacktail to take her place. Blacktail and Slushfur have also had kits, as have Dashclaw and Grasslight, Sagefoot and Stonepath, and Fernheart and Dustfire. Frostpetal is also expecting Harewhisker’s kits. We also have several new apprentices. Sandpaw, Springpaw, Wolfpaw, Weaselpaw, Antpaw, Owlpaw, Streakpaw, Soarpaw and Briarpaw have all become apprentices. Tinyflower and Siltpath have both received their warrior names! We also morn the loss of Beetleclaw and Harmonysong, who have both joined StarClan.
Swiftstar looked right at Shadeclaw
“I also bring news that Lightningstar, Sunthroat, and Fallenfeather are safe. They have sought shelter in WindClan after being driven out by Shadeclaw, who rose to power with the help of the Dark Forest. His leadership hasn’t been approved by StarClan, and WindClan will do everything in their power to make sure that the StarClan chosen leader regains his title. If there are any ThunderClan cats who do not feel safe in their clan, or reject Shadeclaw as the leader, WindClan will welcome you and help you overthrow this tyrant. The forest has seen enough of the Dark Forest. I will not stand by and let another clan fall prey to their schemes.”
Shadestar immediately jumped up to defend himself, claiming that Lightningstar had fed Swiftstar lies and he truly was chosen by StarClan to lead. Brokenshade, Shadestar's deputy, looked at his leader with confusion. Ghostscreech looked at Swiftstar with hope. Cedarstar bristled at the mention of the Dark Forest, as did many cats within the Clans. Earthstar calmed at the fact that Swiftstar called Shadestar out. However, both Cedarstar and Earthstar remained out of the affair between WindClan and ThunderClan. Peachdapple, medicine cat of ThunderClan, appeared pretty taken aback at Swiftstar's claims.
Swiftstar scoffed at Shadestar, admitting that he and Lightningstar may not have always agreed on everything, but he knew Lightningstar was a cat of honor that put ThunderClan above all else. Swiftstar found it hard to believe that Lightningstar would've betrayed ThunderClan and the WindClan leader then questioned Shadestar of what Lightningstar did to deserve his banishment? The ThunderClan 'leader' never did say. That led Swiftstar to believe that Lightningstar didn't betray ThunderClan, Shadestar did.
Shadestar bristled with anger. He claimed that Lightningstar refused to enforce the warrior code and let code-breakers go free of punishment. He said StarClan sent a sign for Lightningstar to step down. The Dark Forest doesn't work in ThunderClan. However, Swiftstar looked firmly back at Shadestar, declaring that the last time he had checked: The word of the leader is the warrior code. Shadestar growled at him, stating that the leader's word doesn't mean he can break the other parts of the warrior code. He firmly snapped that he wouldn't be interrogated by the WindClan leader, he was the rightful leader of ThunderClan.
Patchriver from WindClan called out that Shadeclaw was a fraud and that Lightningstar was the true leader of ThunderClan.
Palesparrow of SkyClan, fully bitten with anger, claimed that Lighningstar belonged up on the Great Rock instead of Shadestar, he questioned if Shadestar went for ThunderClan, who's to say he won't be coming for the rest of the Clans too?
Troutpaw and Specklecreek discussed their concern for Peachdapple, confused about the sign she received and hoping it wasn't a fake. Eclipseky didn't say anything and instead gave the ThunderClan medicine cat a sympathetic look. Spiderpaw, medicine cat apprentice of SkyClan, bristled at everything that was spoken. Poor Peachdapple didn't know what to do.
Many ShadowClan warriors showed their disapproval of Shadestar, although others were impatiently waiting for the gathering to end (Kinkfire and Stormcloud).
Falconjump of ThunderClan angrily bristled at anyone who defied Shadestar. Sparrowstrike of ThunderClan argued that Shadestar was accepted by StarClan and was not a follower of the Dark Forest.
Nettlesplash of RiverClan and Swiftsun of SkyClan discussed what could happen to ThunderClan. Swiftsun said that WindClan couldn't support two Clans and Nettlesplash suggested that maybe RiverClan would help.
Talltalon of ShadowClan taught his apprentice, Ravenpaw, a bit about the Dark Forest, calling them cowards and "grossly pathetic." Sunpaw of ShadowClan watched everything with wide eyes while Dustrose of ShadowClan rolled her eyes, thinking it was typical for ThunderClan to get taken over by the Dark Forest.
Spiderpaw, medicine cat of SkyClan, looked at Peachdapple and questioned if the sign she saw was from StarClan and if Shadestar really had the nine lives of a leader. He claimed that both Shadestar and Lightningstar both couldn't have the nine lives of ThunderClan's leader. Peachdapple was quiet with uncertainty, but then admitted that she could've been fooled by dark forces. Spiderpaw didn't actually believe in the question he asked, he blinked at Peachdapple and asked if the Dark Forest really had that much power. Solemnly, Peachdapple nodded and stated that the Dark Forest has committed acts far greater than this. Peachdapple admitted that she may have made a grave mistake to which Spiderpaw told her she probably should fix it. Specklecreek, medicine cat of RiverClan, looked at Peachdapple (her former mentor), in surprise. She found it strange that Peachdapple would be fooled by the Dark Forest.
Each of the Clan deputies were tense at Swifstar's announcement. Brokenshade of ThunderClan appeared conflicted. Diamondheart of RiverClan and Blacktail of WindClan were bristling, each looked to their leaders as to what they would do. Cloudscar of ShadowClan also tensed, appearing surprised by the news. He looked up at Cedarstar, wondering what his leader was thinking about all this.
Palesparrow of SkyClan was bristling with impatience, wondering if any of the leaders had heard him. He also noticed the state of the ThunderClan cats. Not many were calling out in support of Shadestar and others were keeping to themselves as if they were scared of something. Huh. Wonder what that something is? Kinkfire of ShadowClan noticed Palesparrow's anger and bluntly asked why he cared about what happened in ThunderClan and WindClan since it didn't effect SkyClan. Palesparrow was taken aback by her words and commented that he had always known Lightningstar to be a just and noble leader for ThunderClan since Palesparrow had been a kit! He couldn't imagine anything that Lightningstar and Sunthroat could do that would make the Clan turn on them like this. Kinkfire shrugged and said Palesparrow was right, but each cat had their own stories and unless StarClan spoke to them, they don't know for sure which story is true. So, she believed it best that each Clan keep to themselves. As long as no one crosses the border, they were fine. Palesparrow grew quiet at what Kinkfire said, he sat back down, her words sinking in. Kinkfire apologized for killing Palesparrow's fire, but she admitted that ShadowClan owed Lightningstar nothing. Yes, Lightningstar aided against AdderClan moves ago, but since then he tried to steal ShadowClan territory and ended up killing Kinkfire's kin: Goldenheart in the process. Palesparrow only frowned at her and claimed that no matter the grudge she had, she shouldn't let it keep her from helping others. He, himself, would do whatever it took to help if he could. Kinkfire snorted and said he could lose his life for it. Warriors swore their lives to their own Clans, not others. She stated ShadowClan has enough troubles, they didn't need to tempt fate by wasting resources and strength helping others would only turn on them. They needed to put their own survival first.
Swiftstar again questioned Shadestar as to what parts of the warrior code Lightningstar broke. Shadestar growled and firmly stated that he would not stand there and be accused of something that wasn't true. No one had any proof of the Dark Forest working in ThunderClan. Earthstar didn't appear amused by Shadestar's outburst. To him, it seemed Shadestar was cracking, and he would've expected that more from Cedarstar than him.
Many cats of ThunderClan still supported their leader. However, Peachdapple stood up (Moonpower was rping her at the permission of Blazer). The ThunderClan medicine cat claimed that Shadestar had no proof that StarClan had sent the sign either! She admitted to having mixed signals about the ThunderClan leader. That this could not be StarClan's will.
Many cats looked up Peachdapple with widened gazes. Some looked to the moon to see if any Clouds would cover it. The other medicine cats each stood beside Peachdapple in agreement with her. Cedarstar's eyes narrowed on Peachdapple, wondering if what she said was true and disturbed at the thought that it was.
~~Shadestar lashed his tail and glared back at the medicine cat. To every Clan, he announced that he had enough of this! Right then and there, he called his Clan together and led him out of the gathering. When he passed by Peachdapple, he told her to quiet down! Peachdapple stood tall despite everything, but she followed her leader out of the clearing. All of the ThunderClan left with Shadestar.
Earthstar watched in shock while Shadestar led his Clan, surprised that the tom was just running from the Clan instead of defending himself. Many cats in the Clan watched on in surprise. Shadedpine of ShadowClan got up in preparation to stop ThunderClan if the other leaders willed it, but none of them did.
~~Cedarstar stood up and turned to the remaining leaders, he wished them the best of luck in the times to come, still appearing rather anxious for his first gathering and everything that occurred. Earthstar nodded to Cedarstar in return, bidding him the advice of not letting leaf-bare bite too hard. Swiftstar nodded to the other leaders and bid them: "May StarClan light your path this leaf-bare." Not knowing what to say in response, Cedarstar just called his Clan together to lead him out of the gathering.
~~Earthstar then jumped down from Clan Rock, calling RiverClan together.
~~Swiftstar led WindClan out of the Gathering.
~~Spiritstar led SkyClan out of the Gathering.
~~Northstar and ShadowClan arrived first; however, Northstar had Cedarstorm by her side instead of Falcontalon.
~~Spiritstar led SkyClan to the gathering.
~~The Clans mingled:
Many members of SkyClan noticed how Northstar didn't have Falcontalon at her side. Others bristled at Goldberry, a ShadowClan tom who murdered Silversting in a border skirmish.
Northstar attempted to get Spiritstar to talk to her brother: Cliffheart, a ShadowClan warrior.
Lavendersky and Spiderpaw, medicine cats of SkyClan talked with Snowdance and Opalmist, medicine cats of ShadowClan.
~~Lightningstar arrived leading ThunderClan, Sunthroat at his side.
~~Clans mingled.
Spiritstar spoke with Cliffheart.
Hiddendream, Songbreeze, and Eaglesight of ShadowClan spoke softly with Deadpath, their cousin in SkyClan.
Lightningstar and Northstar reminisced like the old leaders they are.
Sunthroat spoke with Cedarstorm.
Peachdapple, medicine cat of ThunderClan, explained to the other medicine cats that Slatesight stepped down as her apprentice to be a warrior and that Aspenfall has become her new apprentice. The medicine cats then spoke of old times and complemented each other. A couple times they talked about herbal remedies.
Warriors and apprentices mingled.
~~Swiftstar arrived leading WindClan.
~~Earthstar arrived leading RiverClan with Diamondheart at his side.
~~The Clans mingled:
Families and kin from different Clans came together to spend peaceful time together: Breezefoot of WindClan spoke with his sister Snowstorm of ThunderClan. Rainfeather of WindClan spoke with Frostyfoot of SkyClan, Diamondheart of RiverClan spoke with his brother: Hornetstrike of ThunderClan. Frostlake, Ottermask, and Shellstream of RiverClan searched for Deadpath of SkyClan.
Diamondheart, deputy of RiverClan, joined Cedarstorm and Sunthroat, keeping causal conversation.
All leaders except Spiritstar conversed with each other, tensions--for once--were low.
Stormfury, formerly of WindClan, now of ShadowClan, revealed himself to Eclispesky, his best friend and medicine cat of WindClan. Cloudscar of ShadowClan discretely told Swallowfeather of WindClan of their son's (Stormfury's) fate.
Shellstream of RiverClan tried to speak with Deadpath, but the SkyClan warrior fled from her after reminding her that they were no longer clanmates.
Redtooth of ThunderClan spent some time with Shininglight of RiverClan.
Many members of the Clans stuck with their own Clan.
Spiderpaw, medicine cat apprentice of SkyClan, pestered Slatesight, former medicine cat of ThunderClan, about why he gave up his position as a medicine cat.
Peachdapple kindly welcomed Dawnpaw of WindClan to the ranks of medicine cats.
~~Northstar spotted Stormfury speaking to Eclispesky then pulled the attention of the other leaders into starting the gathering. After a moment to take in the scene Northstar reported:
"Much has happened to ShadowClan in the past moon!" Northstar began her report surely. "First and foremost, many of you must be wondering where Falcontalon is. He is alive and well. Falcontalon has decided to retire to the elder's den and I have chosen Cedarstorm as my deputy!" She paused to look down Cedarstorm, then began again. "Leaf-bare brought an illness to the Clan that took the lives of Brightmask, Pouncefire, Grizzlyheart, Vinemask, and Mistyflower but ShadowClan remains strong! We have many queens expecting kits. Roseleaf is expecting Falcontalon's next litter. Spiderfang has had Mouseclaw's kits, Russetshade has had Flintclaw's kits, Sandflower has had Lynxdapple's kits, Swirlheart has had Goldberry's kits, Pinefeather has had Shademoon's kits, and Starrylight has had Cedarstorm's kits! We also have many new apprentices! Tumblepaw, Burningpaw, Hollypaw, Oakpaw, Lilypaw, Gingerpaw, Houndpaw, Spicepaw, Foxpaw, Robinpaw, and Lunarpaw. As for new warriors, ShadowClan honors Eaglesight, Smokestorm, Hiddendream, Songbreeze, Ferretclaw, Thistlestalk, Hollowpool, Frogleap, Poppyflame, Marshsong, Moonpetal, Lionscorch, Onyxtip, Leaffrost, Ratmask, Cardinalblaze, Raccoonmask, and Quailfrost!" She paused to catch her breath. "ShadowClan has endured much and we will continue to endure more!" Northstar glanced at Swiftstar. "Finally, ShadowClan has welcomed a rogue into our Clan." Northstar looked right at Stormfury. "Stormfury has joined as a warrior of ShadowClan!"
Needless to say, WindClan wasn't too thrilled about ShadowClan taking in a cat they banished. Alderfur of WindClan called Stormfury a traitor and Stormfury defended himself, but Northstar silenced him. Swiftstar stepped up after a moment of surprise and spoke of Stormfury's treachery within WindClan and commented that it was "good to know that ShadowClan rewarded traitors and possible murderers." Northstar replied with Stormfury's side of the story and blatantly told Swiftstar that he had banished the wrong cat. Swiftstar asked what proof Northstar had that Stormfury was innocent, she hadn't been there when the attack occurred, but Northstar simply replied that she was from a Clan of liars and thieves, she knew when a cat was lying to her and Stormfury wasn't. Swiftstar then grew angry and restated what he knew of Stormfury's crimes in WindClan. He insulted Northstar by saying the Northstar he knew would never welcome a traitor into her Clan. Northstar bristled and remarked that she would never abandon any cat with ShadowClan blood. Swiftstar grew angry and thanked Northstar for what she did when Scarstar was alive and AdderClan was around, but he reminded her that these were no longer those times, and she shouldn't stick her tail into the affairs of other Clans. However, Northstar replied that it was Swiftstar who first stuck his tail into her affairs when he questioned her decision about Stormfury. Northstar then restated her claim that she undoubtedly made the right choice about the former WindClan warrior and she thanked Swiftstar for banishing him. Swiftstar was hardened when he warned Northstar to be careful of the true intentions of her Clanmates. Northstar thanked him for his concern, but declared it was unnecessary, she then invited Swiftstar to give his report about WindClan.
Soulspirit and Cinderscar of WindClan quietly discussed the possibility of Northstar being right about Meadowbrook. They decided that no matter the truth, they wouldn't let ShadowClan rile them up. Fallowmeadow of WindClan lightly instructed her apprentice Tinypaw about the ways of the gathering, mainly how the clouds can cover the moon.
Shadowblossom and Yarrowcloud of ThunderClan quietly discussed what they believed happened in WindClan between Stormfury and Meadowbrook. They settled on the belief that ShadowClan just likes making trouble (which we do
), and changed their conversation to all the outside things that could harm the Clans.
~~Swiftstar stepped forward bitterly and reported:
"WindClan is stronger than ever! After the loss of Berrywatcher last new-leaf, Dawnpaw has stepped up as our new medicine cat apprentice." He took a moment to dip his head respectfully at the apprentice before continuing. " We also have two new apprentices, Tinypaw and Briarpaw." He glanced down at the two and then continued on "Leaf-bare has been very kind to us as during the season, Slushfur and Grasslight both had kits! All of the kits are healthy and will surely grow into fine warriors. Speaking of warriors, we also have several new warriors at this gathering! Dustfire, Wolfstep, Fawnspots, Cloverleaf, Fernheart, Hopedawn, Mudpath, Goldheart, Fireblaze, Spiderpelt, Spottedclaw, Furyflame, Splashstone, Jasmineheart, Sunstep and Soulspirit have all earned their warrior name. WindClan honors their devotion and commitment to our clan and we know they will be loyal and trustworthy warriors in the moons to come."
Many cats cheered for the new apprentices and warriors.
~~Earthstar waited for the tension and cheers to die down from WindClan before he stepped up and gave his report of RiverClan:
"RiverClan has been doing well! We have many new apprentices and warriors, such as Blackmask, Stonegaze, Smogstorm, Minkstep, Pebblesplash, Ospreypaw, Specklepaw, Iciclepaw, Koipaw, Salmonpaw, and Swanpaw. Many Queens have had healthy litters of kits such as Ivymask, Venomspirit, and Nightflame. We did have a problem with some invasive foxes, but we drove them out via the gorge. Aside from this, there has been peace in the Clan."
Many cats cheered for the new warriors. Some members of WindClan didn't appear to care.
Amberpaw and Sandpaw, two new apprentices from SkyClan, moved to the edge of the clearing to play fight, bored with the gathering. Lilypaw of ShadowClan approached them to talk. The ShadowClan apprentice innocently tried to pry SkyClan secrets out of them, acting all friendly and such. She got the two apprentices to talk about their clan, learning that the warrior Silvercloud has no claws and Flarestorm is a bit flirt. Both Amberpaw's and Sandpaw's mentors are expecting kits.
~~Spiritstar held her head high when she stepped forward to address the Clans, yet she did look at the other leaders to check for objections.
"Starclan has certainly blessed us these past moons. We have had quite a few apprentices who have earned there warrior names,” she looked down at the ones who were here tonight. “Nettlesting, Plumwillow, Starlingdust, And Deadpath,” she spoke rather happily looking towards each new warrior in turn proud of her nephew. She flicked her tail before continuing, “As well as new kits being born. Spotteddawn’s kits are Coldkit, Fallkit, Sunkit and Firekit, and Frostyfoot's kits are Dreamkit, Echokit and Whisperkit, and Lilith’s kits are Bloodkit, Spectorkit and Bonekit,” she spoke happily before flicking her ears, “Prey has been plentiful and our clan has been thriving."
Many cats throughout all five clans cheered for the new warriors. Yet, ThunderClan warriors stiffened.
Lightningstar stepped up beside Spiritstar on the Great Rock, he bared his teeth at the mention of Lilith, claiming her a murderous rogue. Lilith was responsible for the death of many ThunderClan warriors. Spiritstar replied calmly by stating that Lilith is proving herself as a SkyClan cat by learning the warrior code like so many others have. Spiritstar then turned a frowning gaze to Northstar and firmly stated that ShadowClan continues to harbor killers time and time again. Goldberry of ShadowClan flinched under Spiritstar's gaze. Lightningstar called Spiritstar foolish for trusting Lilith, a cold-blooded killer. Many warriors of ThunderClan bristled in agreement with their leader. Spiritstar told the ThunderClan leader that the Clans are filled with those who have fought for darkness with clouded judgement. She believes that they deserve a second chance to redeem themselves. Cats who wish for redemption need a Clan to accept them, then they could prove their worth like Cometblaze, another ThunderClan warrior who left to join SkyClan. Lightningstar flattened his ears and announced that SkyClan was now a clan of code-breakers (like Cometblaze), liars, and murderers. He then made a comment that compared Spiritstar to her evil sister Robinstar. The comment infuriated Spiritstar. She hissed out that her Clan was for those who seek second chances, those who wished to turn away from the darkness caused by their home clans. She claimed by giving these cats second chances, they prove courage and loyalty and respect both StarClan and the warrior code. She accused Lightningstar of casting out cats without a second thought, defining them for their past with no hope for the future. Spiritstar firmly stated that SkyClan was not like it had been under Robinstar's rule. They do not breed hate, but offer redemption and love from their hearts. She assured the Clans that Lilith and her kits were learning the warriorcode and Cometblaze and his kits grow with the support of a caring Clan. Something they could never get from a Clan that casts out a father for loving someone. She pointedly glared at Lightningstar. Lightningstar simply replied that ThunderClan follows the warrior code and any cat who breaks it is punished accordingly, curtly ending the argument.
Spiritstar took Lightningstar's short reply as a victory and she turned her attention back to Northstar, demanding to know why ShadowClan has done nothing to the ShadowClan warrior that killed Silversting of SkyClan in cold blood. Spiritstar claimed the crime he had committed was unforgivable. Goldberry, the ShadowClan warrior in question, shifted in unease under the many glares from SkyClan cats. Yet, Northstar appeared unmoved by Spiritstar's challenge. She mused Spiritstar's words right back at her. Reminding Spiritstar that she claimed to lead a clan that gives warriors a chance to prove themselves, to show loyalty, courage, and respect for the code. Spiritstar claimed to lead a clan of new beginnings. Northstar then stood up, facing the SkyClan leader with a hardened gaze and firmness in her voice. The ShadowClan leader called Spiritstar a hypocrite. SkyClan will blindly welcome in cats who have harmed other Clans, preaching second chances and redemption. Yet, when a victim of darkness wrongs SkyClan, they demand vengeance. Northstar then asked Spiritstar if the SkyClan leader was the only one who could decide who received second chances.
(At this point, Jewelspirit couldn't rp Spiritstar, so she gave permission to Moonblazer to take her place and move the gathering along.)
Spiritstar replied to the ShadowClan leader by stating that she puts her Clan first. Silversting was a good, honorable warrior, and a friend. Spiritstar admitted that she knows darkness more than most and that cats could be redeemed. All she wanted was for ShadowClan to give an explanation and assurance that Silversting's death was not a murder of cold blood. Northstar reminded the Clans that Silversting was not the first warrior to die in a border skirmish and, as unfortunate as it is, she will certainly not be the last. Northstar reminded the Clans that we are warriors and we live and die as warriors. No one can justify taking a life, not even Spiritstar (who slayed the last life of her evil sister). Northstar admitted that there is no explanation for Silversting's death other than the fact that two clans decided to fight on the border and she died because of it. Northstar did apologize for the loss of Silversting and admitted that were it a ShadowClan warrior that died, she would be searching for answers as well. Alas, Northstar could not give Spiritstar any answers, only the promise that Goldberry was on the road to redemption as are many of SkyClan's warriors.
Spiritstar was quiet for many long seconds, but eventually admitted she believed the sincerity in Northstar's voice. She looked to both Northstar and Lightningstar to remind them that SkyClan will not falter to any other Clan. They are not lesser than any other Clan and they will never hesitate to defend what is theirs. She reminded the Clans that SkyClan is strong and will not be weakened by accepting outsiders within their ranks. Spiritstar then sat back, looking firmly to Lightningstar, telling him to finish the gathering.
Northstar twitched her whiskers in amusement with Spiritstar, and waited for Lightningstar to speak.
~~Lightningstar's fur was bristling from the words he received from Spiritstar, but he poke to the Clans anyway:
"Thunderclan is doing well. Prey is running and we are keeping our borders strong." He half growled with a glance towards Spiritstar, in a half warning. "We have new apprentices. Webpaw, Southpaw, Cloudypaw, Honeypaw, Brackenpaw, Applepaw and Sparrowpaw. We also have many new warriors, Stormeye, Plumfur, Aspenfall, Magpiewing, Dapplenight, Bumblegaze, Rainheart, Cricketsun, Ryefeather, Deerleap, Leafgaze, Ghostscreech, Fernshade, Wolfshadow, Jaytalon, Panthersight, Orangebreeze, Autumnfall, and Lynxstripe." He spoke. "In addition Slatesight has stepped down from his medicine cat position and Aspenfall has decided to train under Peachdapple." Lightningstar spoke. He made no mention of Cometblaze's banishment. "Smokespirit has died also an apparent a rouge attack."
Many cats cheered for the new apprentices and warriors of ThunderClan.
~~One by one the leaders led their clans back to their own territories.
~~ThunderClan arrived first, led by Lightningstar.
~~ShadowClan arrived second, led by Northstar. The ShadowClan leader's age could be seen upon her pelt and how she hesitated to climb the great rock.
~~RiverClan arrived being led by Earthstar.
~~Cats mingled
~~Swiftstar led WindClan to the gathering
~~Finally Obsidianflower led SkyClan to the gathering.
~~Northstar greeted the other leaders kindly. Swiftstar and Earthstar asked how things were in ShadowClan and Northstar replied with that things are fine. The ShadowClan leader then turned to Obsidianflower and asked where Spiritstar was.
~~Lightningstar only greeted the other leaders with a nod.
~~Some apprentices were overwhelmed with how many cats there were. Ivymask turned a cold shoulder to Deadpaw.
~~Northstar began the gathering. She announced that ShadowClan was well that they have new apprentices in Frogpaw, Poppypaw, Thistlpaw, Ferretpaw, and Hollowpaw. New warriors in Eaglesight, Hiddendream, Smokestorm, and Songbreeze, and that Echolight has had Twistedfoot's kits. Northstar finished saying that some sickness has come to the clan, but it isn't anything that Snowdance and Opalpaw can't handle.
~~Cloudscar talked with Sagefoot.
~~Swiftstar stepped forward next saying: "WindClan is thriving! We have new warriors, apprentices and kits! While we mourn the loss of Sparrowwing, who was taken to StarClan from greencough, we celebrate our new warriors, Grasslight, Stonepath, Russetpelt and Whispersong! I am also proud to announce that we have four new apprentices as well! Fawnpaw, Dustpaw, Cloverpaw and Wolfpaw have all begun their apprenticeship, and WindClan looks forward to their progress! Swallowfeather has also had her second litter of kits, Firekit and Goldkit! WindClan is thriving as we head towards leaf bare, and prey is abundant!"
~~Northstar seemed to appear suspicious hearing Swiftstar's report.
~~Earthstar stepped up next to declare that RiverClan was doing well. They have two new warriors: Dewdrop and Ivymask, and they haven't had any trouble with twolegs this season; however Earthstar did say they fought with ThunderClan over Sunningrocks.
~~Shellstream of RiverClan and Deadpaw of SkyClan talked. Ivymask of RiverClan scoffed at them.
~~Obsidianflower stepped up next and say that SkyClan was well and prey is plentiful. But she didn't address Spiritstar's absence.
~~Lightningstar then stepped up and declared: "Thunderclan is doing well. Prey is running well for it being so close to leaf bare. We have 3 new apprentices, Deerpaw, Cricketpaw, and Ryepaw. We also have many new warriors! Mistlight and Brokenwing relieved their warrior names along with Nighteye, Flashfire, Shadeclaw, Cometblaze, Snowdrop, and Glassflower. Seafoam also gave birth to two kits! Southkit and Cloudykit. We are doing well and will hopefully continue to do so as leafbare approaches."
~~With Lightningstar's report over, Swiftstar ended the gathering.
ShadowClan arrived first, led by Northstar.
WindClan arrived second, led by Swiftstar. Northstar greeted him with a flick of her tail.
Lightningstar then led ThunderClan in.
Swiftstar and Northstar dicussed the effects of the great storm.
The medicine cat got together, Peachdapple being the first to realize Berrywatcher's absense.
Apprentices mingled and discussed their Clans.
Earthstar led RiverClan to the gathering, looking curiously at both Lightningstar and Northstar. Northstar only greeted him with a flick of her tail.
Some of RiverClan looked disappointed that SkyClan hadn't arrived yet. Flarefur went to sit with the medicine cats with his new apprentice: Runningpaw. Others wondering what happened to Fallowleaf.
The Clans mingled. Many being nice, others being butt-heads (Ratpaw of ShadowClan).
Flashpaw of WindClan recognized Owlpaw of RiverClan as Tanner the rogue. The two talked, Owlpaw seemed worried that Flashpaw was in another Clan, not wanting to face her in battle.
Cedarstorm of ShadowClan pushed Stormheart of RiverClan's buttons.
The medicine cats discussed the storm and the after effects, Eclispesky admitted his worry of losing Sparrowwing to Greencough.
Guess who talked to each other again? Cloudscar of ShadowClan and Swallowfeather of WindClan....They seemed happy to see each other again. Dawntail padded over to them mistaking Cloudscar for Stormfury
Spiritstar led SkyClan into Fourtrees.
Swallowfeather calmly told Cloudscar she would be moving to the nursery soon...Cloudscar words were ecstatic, but he appeared calm about it....Sagefoot was also very excited about it.
Dawntail figured it out. Stormfury grew anxious. Frecklepaw was trying to figure why her mentor (Stormfury) was freaking out.
Eclipsesky, medicine cat of WindClan, padded over to Stormfury to see if he was ok, sending Frecklepaw off. Needless to say Stormfury wasn't doing good at all...He ended up heading back towards WindClan's camp, Dawntail went with him.
The Clan's mingled.
Many were friendly, some weren't (Dashclaw, Stormheart)
Deadpaw of SkyClan arrived and ended up talking with Shellstream of RiverClan. Many cats were giving him looks because of his looks, but Obsidianflower's glare shut everybody up before they could say anything. Deadpaw seemed anxious and nervous to be there.
Cedarstorm and Starrylight of ShadowClan seemed to be talking about something hush hush.
Birchstep of WindClan and Nightraven of ThunderClan appeared to be sitting close.
Northstar began the gathering calling all cats together! She announced ShadowClan is growing strong, though effected by the storm. Northstar was grieved to announce that ShadowClan lost many warriors: Hollyflower, Darkblaze, and Softmist were lost, but she didn't say how. She went on to report that the storm claimed the lives of Longsight, Batflight, Loneraven, Coalfire, and Wolfstorm and the Clan grieves greatly for them. Northstar continued with a happier note saying that ShadowClan had new apprentices in Ravenpaw, Cardinalpaw, Racoonpaw, and Quailpaw and ShadowClan had three new warriors in Tigerfury, Littlemoon, and Grizzlyheart. Northstar was happy to announce that Cottonfur is expecting Crowfur's kits, but she took a humbler tone announcing that Closesky, Brightmask, and Aurablaze have decided to retire. The ShadowClan leader finished by saying that ShadowClan survives and faces every challenge willingly knowing that it only makes their Clan stronger. She turned to the other leaders and relayed her hope that the other Clans did not suffer the storm as bad as they did.
Many warriors dipped their heads in respect for the fallen warriors of ShadowClan before cheering for the new apprentices and warriors.
Swiftstar was the next to step up declaring that WindClan is also strong. Part of their camp was destoryed when a wind vortex touched down on the territory and WindClan grieves for Berrywatcher, Hawkfury, Flamefur, Duskwhisper, Fallenwind, and Redpetal who were all lost in the storm. Swiftstar continued saying that Fallowmeadow has had her kits so WindClan's new deputy is now Morningpath! (Cheetahheart also had kits, but Swiftstar forgot to mention that). The WindClan leader then listed off many new apprentices of WindClan: Softpaw, Frecklepaw, Burningpaw, Oakpaw, Robinpaw, Pebblepaw, and Branchpaw! and that several apprentices have proved their abilities and have been made into warriors: Silverspirit, Sagefoot, Stormfury, Sandfall, and Meadowbrook. Swiftstar finished by announcing that Rabbitdash has retired to the elder's den and that WindClan is strong despite the harsh attack of the storm, prey continues to run keeping the Clan full and healthy.
Many WindClan warriors were proud of their new apprentices and warriors, while each clan showed their respect for the cats taken by the storm.
Earthstar stepped forwards next saying that RiverClan, too, survived the flood, but their elders: Fogstorm and Storkfeather along with their warrior: Mistcloud (Mistshine died of a falling branch), and queen: Sealily passed on to StarClan. He continued saying that Fallowleaf was also lost so Flarepaw is now Flarefur and has already taken up an apprentice in Runningpaw. He declared that Icepath saved a rogue from drowning in the river and that rogue was now Owlpaw of RiverClan. Earthstar finished saying that they are working hard to regain their strength after the flood and they give their condolences to the other cats lost in the flood.
Warriors of every Clan paid their respects to the fallen warriors of RiverClan. Stormheart of RiverClan called out for the glory of RiverClan, gaining him many rude eyes from the cats around him.
Lightningstar was the next leader to speak saying that ThunderClan is well. They battled the rogues and sadly lost Ravenwing, Icewhisker, Kestralwing, Vinefur, Skyblossom, and Skyfeather in the fight. He went on to say that Dustclaw was killed by a snake bite and Whitescar was killing during the storm. Other than those loses ThunderClan has new apprentices in Pantherpaw, Sparkpaw, Jaypaw, Orangepaw, Autumnpaw, and Dapplepaw. The Clan has new warriors in Nettlepatch Blizzardstorm, and Vixenrose, and Shadowblossom, Goldfeather, Mapleleaf and Cotton all gave birth to kits."
Warriors from all Clans shared in ThunderClan's grief out of respect, even Northstar appeared sympathetic and dipped her head to Lightningstar in respect to his losses, however one warrior: Stormheart did not show any respect nor did he cheer for ThunderClan's new warriors, apprentices, and kits, he just sat there glaring up at Lightningstar. Many of his clanmates nudged him to be respectful, but Stormheart didn't listen. Flarefur then padded over to his clanmate and questioned him on his disrespect. Stormheart replied with "I don't care what happens to those rogue-killers." Flarefur harshly scolded him.
Spiritstar stepped up last saying that SkyClan is thankful that none of their cats were lost in the storm. Their bottom caves flooded, but everyone was able to take shelter on higher ground. She finished giving her condolences to the lives lost and the kin that loved them. "May StarClan light their paths."
Many warriors were glad to hear that SkyClan was ok.
Northstar then stepped forward and declared the gathering over. She jumped down from the Great Rock and led her Clan back home. However Cliffheart muttered something to his leader and she nodded in acceptance too it. Cliffheart remained behind.
Swiftstar then led WindClan home.
Lightningstar led ThunderClan back to their territory.
Earthstar led his Clan back to RiverClan's territory.
Seeing her brother, Spiritstar nodded to Obsidianflower to lead SkyClan home before staying behind to speak with Cliffheart.
WindClan arrived first led by Swiftstar and Fallowmeadow!
ShadowClan arrived second led by Northstar and Falcontalon! The ShadowClan leader gave Swiftstar a curious look in realizing that Scarstar wasn't there, but paid him no mind as the WindClan leader fussed over his pregnant deputy/mate.
ShadowClan and WindClan warriors mingled, though it seemed the WindClan was a bit reluctant too.
Obsidianflower led SkyClan into Fourtrees, Northstar asked her if all was well, inquiring of Spiritstar's whereabouts, but the deputy gave her a swift curt response that SkyClan was fine.
Earthstar led RiverClan to the gathering. Seeing Swiftstar upon the rock he appeared curious on Scarstar's whereabouts. Northstar greeted the RiverClan leader with a nod, Swiftstar paid him no mind, and Obsidianflower looked less than interested.
Northstar offered her condolences to WindClan saying that the whole forest grieves for Scarstar's loss. She had been a great and bold leader. Swiftstar replied kindly.
Clan cats mingled. Cloudscar of ShadowClan spoke with Swallowfeather of WindClan, apprentices posted their Clan's skills, deputies chatted. Warriors wondered where Spiritstar was and reminisced of times training.
Lightningstar finally arrived leading ThunderClan to the gathering. Northstar paid Lightningstar no heed. The ThunderClan leader asked Swiftstar where Scarstar was and Swiftstar replied of the old leader's fate. To which Lightningstar gave his condolences. Earthstar watched the ThunderClan leader looking for any tells on why he was late.
Some cats noticed the tension between Lightningstar and Northstar.
Warriors mingled.
Northstar stepped forward and started the gathering, gaining every cats attention. She swiftly went into her report declaring that ShadowClan is strong. She delcared that their missing warrior: Echolight has returned to them and that ShadowClan is full of new apprentices: Ratpaw, Marshpaw, Moonpaw, Pouncepaw, Leafpaw, Lionpaw, Onyxpaw, Shadepaw, Copperpaw, Raccoonpaw, Blackpaw, and Hawkpaw! Northstar went on to say that Ribbondance, Grassflame, and Redspark have all kitted over the past moon having Oakstalk's, Batflight's, and Bumbleskip's kits! But the ShadowClan leader took a solemner turn by announcing the death of Goldenheart. Northstar declared that Goldenheart was lost in a border fight by ThunderClan claws after Lightningstar himself tried stealing some of ShadowClan territory.
Swiftstar appeared interested in hearing that ThunderClan was having trouble with ShadowClan. Earthstar wasn't surprised to hear that ThunderClan was greedy for more territory, while Obsidianflower seemed to take mental note of Lightningstar's actions.
Many cats protested about Lightningstar's breakage of the warrior code.
Lightningstar stepped up stating that they took territory because ThunderClan is growing and needs the territory to feed its many mouths. He went on to say that ThunderClan has no new apprentices but training is going well. He then reported that ThunderClan had some problems with rogues on their border with RiverClan and that the rogues ambushed and killed Quailsong then ambushed Mistpaw and Shadepaw, gravely wounding them. Lightingstar assured that the problem is being taken care of and he warned the Clans that the rogues might get bold enough to attack other patrols.
Northstar was quick to defend her Clan declaring that ShadowClan has grown much as well and that they needed every inch of their territory to feed everyone. She then accused ThunderClan of stooping so low to take territory from others and she warned him that if ShadowClan ever caught ThunderClan crossing the border anymore then they will face ShadowClan claws and the blood will be on Lightningstar's paws.
Swiftstar seemed thankful for Lightningstar's warning. Lightningstar simply told Northstar that they were keeping the territory they stole. Then Northstar announced to the Clans after hearing that Lightningstar openly admitted to breaking the warrior code: "Witness cats of every Clan! How the mighty ThunderClan has fallen from their nobility and righteousness!"
Many cats doubted Lightningstar, some asked if prey was so plentiful then why did they need to take more territory? Earthstar seemed like he didn't want to get into the quarreling. Some WindClan cats seemed to bristle at what Northstar was saying.
Swiftstar then stepped up calling for a stop in the quarreling and reminding cats that this is supposed to be a night of peace. He informed the Clans that after the last gathering a badger attacked one of the apprentices and Scarstar raced to same him and while she did drive the badger away she was killed. He then informed the Clans that at the medicine cat gathering Berrywatcher recieved a sign and named him, Swiftstar, as WindClan's leader. Swiftstar announced that he chose his mate, Fallowmeadow as his deputy until she has his kits. After a pause Swiftstar announced that WindClan has two new warriors: Rockfall and Pigeonsong. He declared that prey was running well however he turned to Northstar to state that one of his patrols reported seeing a ShadowClan warrior and his apprentice hunting on WindClan territory and stealing rabbits. Swiftstar, a brand new leader, accused Northstar, the current longest reigning leader, right then and there as thieves.
Obsidianflower was getting annoyed.
Many warriors cried out against Northstar at WindClan's claim. Lightningstar appeared satisfied. Earthstar was looking up at the sky.
Northstar turned to the WindClan leader to quickly defend her Clan saying how dare he accuse her warriors of thieving. ShadowClan has only ever kept to its own borders.
Many cats were turning their eyes to the moon.
Swiftstar hissed back at Northstar, telling her to go back to her fresh-kill pile and see for herself.
Obsidianflower was ruffled with annoyance.
Falcontalon was even offended, shouting that he would never send his warriors on patrol to steal prey. That ShadowClan's never had a problem with WindClan, why ruin the peace?
Warriors from all Clans seemed to turn against ShadowClan, though ShadowClan rightfully defended their honor.
Northstar finally got fed up she stepped up again declaring that she would not stand for the slander against ShadowClan. Her eyes turned to Swiftstar and Lightningstar as she spoke that though ShadowClan has been through many trials time and time again they have always risen from it. She had once given her word that ShadowClan would not thieve again yet the Clans cannot see past the stain of ShadowClan's ancestors. Northstar reminded all the Clans that darkness once forced them together in their desperation and from that came peace. She asked what shame StarClan must feel that the Clans allow that peace to burn in the flames of our pride. Standing at the edge of the Great Rock Northstar warned all the Clans that if anyone crosses into ShadowClan territory, they will be chased out without hesitance and that they will feel the fury of ShadowClan claws! With that Northstar announced that ShadowClan was leaving and without hestating she led her Clan from the gathering.
ShadowClan warriors loyally followed their leader while the other Clans stood and watched, different emotions in different cats.
Swiftstar announced for WindClan to stay put. Lightningstar was bristling at Northstar's departure.
After ShadowClan left Earthstar stepped up, with a side-glance at Lightningstar, to report that RiverClan has been peaceful. Prey is plentiful in the river and RiverClan has many new apprentices: Sunpaw, Featherpaw, Dapplepaw, Thawpaw, and Mudpaw! Earthstar then reported that they have many new warriors: Mistcloud, Minnowtail, Skystorm, Reedfang, Shellstream, and Troutfang! Next he announced that Mistfall decided to step down as deputy and in her place he chose Diamondheart, but overall there has been little trouble and RiverClan is thriving!
While RiverClan felt pride for Earthstar's report, the other Clans questioned Diamondheart's youthfulness.
When Earthstar was finished Obsidianflower stepped up to report that SkyClan is well. They have two new apprentices: Hawkpaw and Briarpaw and a new warrior in Seedflight. She finished by simply stating that SkyClan is stronger than ever!
When Obsidianflower was done Swiftstar ended the gathering and returned back to WindClan.
Obsidianflower was the next to lead her Clan home.
Earthstar called out for his Clan to gather before leading them back to RiverClan.
Lightningstar was the last to lead his Clan away.
- Scarstar led WindClan to fourtrees first, she appeared to struggle greating when climbing up to the Great Rock, one of her minor scars even reopened and her Clan looked on with worry.
- ShadowClan arrived second being led by their deputy Falcontalon, Northstar was no where in sight and brought a lot of curious looks from the WindClan cats.
- Lightningstar came not long after leading ThunderClan. Many of the Clan cats mingled. When he reached the Great Rock, Lightningstar questioned Falcontalon on Northstar's where-a-bouts. At the ThunderClan leader's words Scarstar looked up from her pelt to finally realize that the ShadowClan leader was missing before commenting: "its a miracle she [Northstar] didn't show."
- Peachdapple, medicine cat of ThunderClan, tried conversing with Berrywatcher, medicine cat of WindClan, but the tom was too distracted worrying over his leader.
- Falcontalon informed the leaders that Northstar couldn't make it tonight and that he would be taking her place. Lightningstar inquired if she was sick and the deputy calmly relayed that Northstar was in perfect health, it was just an issue at camp that kept her from joining them tonight. The doubt and suspicion were easily detected upon the other leaders. Everyone knew Northstar never missed a gathering.
- Sootclaw of ThunderClan informed Breezefoot of WindClan that Snowstorm, formerly of WindClan, was welcomed in ThunderClan and had his three kits: Ryekit, Cricketkit, and Deerkit.
- Spiritstar arrived leading SkyClan and appearing fully confident in her position as leader.
- Confusion rippled through the crowd of cats in curiousness on where Northstar was. (Seriously a lot of people commented about it in their posts. So my leader misses one gathering! We all miss one people! lol.)
- Spiritstar seemed a little put off in the way she snorted after realizing Northstar's absence.
- (RiverClan randomly appeared at the gathering--I did not see their leader/deputy's post that led them in.) Earthstar was absent for the night so Mistfall, his deputy, stood in his place. All the Clans were commenting on how weird it is that two leaders were missing.
- Lightningstar called the gathering to begin and Spiritstar stepped forward to go first.
- The SkyClan leader claimed that SkyClan is thriving! She announced that Splashpaw is now a warrior as Splashecho, and Nightsky gave birth to four healthy kits: Sandkit, Amberkit, Spiderkit, and Darkkit. Spiritstar finished strongly declaring that prey is thriving and SkyClan is strong! Though there seemed to be a few things she left unsaid. Wonder what they could be...
- Lightningstar was the next to step forward and annouced that ThunderClan is well. Prey is racing the forest plentiful to feed the new kits they have! Lightningstar listed Vinefur having Sunthroat's kits, Burnstrike having Acorntail's kits, and Snowstorm having Sootclaw's kits--he gave a side-glance at Scarstar. Lightningstar went on to say that ThunderClan has many new apprentices and warriors: Mistpaw, Blizzardpaw, Nettlepaw, Shadepaw, Pikepaw, Ebonypaw, Willowpaw, Arcticpaw, Cometpaw, Shadepaw, Glasspaw, and Snowpaw. Brackenheart, Swiftwind, Finchsong, Dustclaw, and Flamestrike. Lightningstar finished by sharing that a badger ravaged through the territory, killing Blackberry and wounding Eagleclaw, but thanks to Peachdapple the warrior will survive!
- Falcontalon was the next to address the Clans beginning by saying that Northstar is in perfect health, he's just taking her place tonight (but he avoided to say why quite cleverly). Falcontalon announced that many she-cat are expecting kits: Ribbondance, Redspark, and Grassflame before announcing that Icefire, Spiderfang, and Roseleaf have had their kits within the past moon (not posting the names there are too many). ShadowCLan has four new warriors in Cherryvine, Vinemask, Pinestep, and Lightcloud and many new apprentices in Eaglepaw, Smokepaw, Songpaw and Hiddenpaw. Falcontalon finished by announcing that Mistyflower has retired and moved to the elders den. Looking at the reaction of the cats of ShadowClan it was obvious that some things went unsaid.
- Many cats murmured about Northstar's absence. Warrior of ShadowClan: Pinestep was mouthing off trouble, but he was ignored.
- Mistfall stepped up to speak next, seeming to eye Falcontalon with inquiry. She began by stating that prey is plentiful and twolegs have caused them no trouble. Mistfall proudly announced that kits and apprentices are growing strong, however sorrow cracked her voice announcing that Stormspirit had passed on. She declared that Fallowleaf is RiverClan's new medicine cat and that a new apprentice is already in training (she didn't name them though). Mistfall finished by saying that Earthstar wasn't able to make it tonight, but assured the Clans that he was doing well. (No surprise no one believed her).
- ShadowClan warrior: Pinestep bad mouthed Earthstar. Cats ignored him.
- Scarstar stepped forward with confident grace within her fragile and aged body. She waited until cats had quieted down before speaking, fearing her voice wouldn't make it as far as it use too. With a shake of her pelt Scarstar announced that WindClan is thriving! Prey is plentiful and the clan has two new apprentices: Grasspaw and Stonepaw. She delcared that a recent bout of greencough had threatened their Clan however the skills of Berrywatcher kept it at bay and not clanmate was lost (she did pause as if something went unsaid, but it was only briefly). The great leader then finished with a warning directed towards Falcontalon that WindClan is as strong as ever and encroaching borders will not be tolerated! Falcontalon appeared as if he didn't know what she was talking about (and he probably doesn't considering it was my (Moonpower) characters who threatened the border without telling him...)
- After Scarstar's report the Clans mingled a bit longer before departing back to their territories.
ShadowClan arrived first led by Northstar, who waited calmly at the great rock.
Lightningstar led ThunderClan in shortly afterwards and greeted ShadowClan calmly.
RiverClan was arrived led by Earthstar, who kept to himself.
Cats mingled, apprentices talked.
Northstar and Lightningstar discussed the lack of patrols along the SkyClan borders.
Scarstar led WindClan to the gathering. She arrived with great speed and energy as she climbed the Great Rock, however with her age she quickly grew weary on the rock. Berrywatcher and Eclispepaw were trying to keep up with her.
Medicine cats Peachdapple, Berrywatcher, and Snowdance discussed the storm and herbs.
SkyClan arrived led by Spiritstar, who appeared out of place.
Northstar called all cats together and started the gathering declaring that: "Much has happened to ShadowClan over the past moon and though the storm that hit us a few days ago was harsh, ShadowClan has survived! Prey is running as well as it can with the recent storm and we have many new kits in the nursery! Brightmask has had Talonfury's second litter, Aurablaze has had Longsight's kits, and Owlshadow has had Cliffheart's kits! ShadowClan also has many new apprentices! Russetpaw, Goldenpaw, Ravenpaw, Opalpaw, Vinepaw, Cherrypaw, Lightpaw, Shortpaw, Burntpaw, Pebblepaw, and Snowdance has agreed to take Berrypaw on as her apprentice! Mouseclaw, Cottonfur, Starrylight, and Onyxheart are ShadowClan's newest warriors! Over the past moon Tigerpaw was hit by a monster on the thunderpath, but with Snowdance's skill and knowledge she has completely recovered!" Lightningstar seemed pleased to hear that ShadowClan was alright.
Lightningstar stepped up next announcing that: "Thunderclan has been doing very well the past moon. Luckily the storm did not do as much damage as it could of and our territory is unharmed and our borders strong. Prey is also running like normal. Our nursery is full with three new litters of kits. Foxheart had Thrushwing's kits, Emberfluff had Eagleclaw's kits, and Seafoam had Badgernight's kits. We have had no new warriors but the training of apprentices is going well and we'll have some by next moon." The ThunderClan leader finished by saying: "Sunningrocks belongs to Thunderclan, we will protect it as such, along with all of our other borders. We welcome no trespassers onto our territory and they will be dealt with with tooth and claw." He had cast a warning glare at Earthstar, who only flattened his ears and glared back at him. RiverClan wasn't thrilled with the ThunderClan leader's claim. Northstar rolled her eyes hearing about the claim, Scarstar and Spiritstar didn't seem to care.
Sootclaw of ThunderClan and Snowstorm of WindClan sat quite close.
Scarstar spoke next and kept her words to a minimal, saying that: "Windclan is as strong as ever! Despite the damages to the camp and territory from the recent flooding, we expect for things to return to normal in no time. Our kits are growing strong and we have a new warrior to welcome, Swiftbreeze!" Lightningstar and Northstar appeared pleased WindClan was well.
Earthstar stepped up and announced: "As you all know, I was the speaker for RiverClan last gathering, but Blazepelt did not return and as such StarClan chose me to lead RiverClan! I am now Earthstar, and Pebbleskip is my deputy. Anyway, the storm was very powerful, but we have made our way through it and we are in no more danger! StarClan blessed us this flood by not taking any of our warriors away from us, and we are recovery swiftly. We have two new warriors, Ottermask and Shininglight, and two new apprentices, Shellpaw and Troutpaw! RiverClan is thriving with the poison of AdderClan no more!" Many cats cheered.
Medicine cats talked.
Spiritstar stepped up next and announced that: "Skyclan is doing well. The storm effected us very little. We welcome Cloudberry's three kits to the clan and prey is running well. Skyclan is thriving,"
After Spiritstar's report Lightningstar was the first to lead his clan home followed by Earthstar then Scarstar.
Spiritstar and Northstar swapped a few words before departing.
RiverClan arrived first led by Earthheart
Northstar led ShadowClan to Fourtrees, Scarstar appearing with WindClan shortly after.
The Clan leaders talked
Earthheart explained that Blazestar would not be joining then since he was still getting his nine lives.
Scarstar appeared to require help getting on the Great Rock due to her old age, however the WindClan leader made it up herself, snapping at the cats who tried to help her.
The Clans mingled.
ThunderClan then arrived, led by Lightningstar who didn't address anyone.
Spiritstar led SkyClan to the gathering appearing out of place.
Cedarpaw of ShadowClan tried to make friends with Leopardpaw of WindClan, Eveningclaw of RiverClan came over and a little argument began with Eveningclaw and Leopardpaw insulting ShadowClan, Ashpaw came up to help his brother defend their Clan. However even when Earthheart snapped down at Eveningclaw from the Great Rock, the RiverClan warrior persisted. Cedarpaw called the discussion worthless and he and his brother walked away to avoid trouble from Northstar. Rainfall of SkyClan warned Eveningclaw that he should keep the peace or leave the gathering, Eveningclaw responded by threatening Rainfall to mind his own business. Pebbleskip broke it up apologizing for Eveningclaw's actions, Rainfall then walked away before Pebbleskip cuffed his Clanmate's ear giving him one last warning to behave.
Scarstar warned WindClan that if she heard one more comment that insulted the other Clans she would send them back to the nursery for a full moon.
Sootclaw of ThunderClan sat with and spoke to Snowstorm of WindClan.
Mossfeather, medicine cat of ThunderClan, met with Berrywatcher, medicine cat of WindClan and discussed herbs. Lavendersky joined them shortly afterward speaking of the herb shortage in SkyClan, both Berrywatcher and Mossfeather offered to bring Lavendersky their surplus of herbs. They agreed that in two days Berrywatcher would meet Mossfeather at Fourtrees and they would carry their surplus herbs to Lavendersky in SkyClan. Snowdance, ShadowClan's medicine cat then came up and the other medicine cats congratulated her on becoming a full medicine cat.
Lightningstar began the gathering declaring that Thunderclan is doing well. That they are recovering well from the battle even though prey is growing scare from leafbare. Lightningstar announced that they have 3 new warriors, Silentflare, Berryfrost, and Shadowblossom! Plus two new apprentices: Brackenpaw and Swiftpaw. ThunderClan also has a few expecting she-cats so their nursery will soon be full. Lightningstar then hesitated before adding that ThunderClan is also fiercely protecting their borders from all threats and will not be tolerating any trespassers. After he spoke he gave Earthheart a warning glare. Earthheart met his glare and simply lashed his tail. Northstar seemed intrigued by Lightningstar's threat and Scarstar simply didn't care.
While Lightningstar was speaking Eveningclaw and Leopardpaw discussed meeting next moonrise so Eveningclaw could show her a few special battle techniques.
Sootclaw explained to Snowstorm that ThunderClan and RiverClan have been battling for Sunningrocks.
Northstar stepped up next delcaring that ShadowClan has been doing well over the past moon. She explained that the ShadowClan camp had been reinforced and is standing strong and that Snowdance was now the full medicine cat of ShadowClan, Frostshard had returned to retirement. Northstar listed many new apprentices in ShadowClan: Badgerpaw, Cedarpaw, Kinkpaw, Ashpaw, Blazepaw, Leafpaw, and Sunpaw has chosen to follow Snowdance as a medicine cat. Next the leader announced that ShadowClan has two new warriors: Coalfire and Swirlheart. Northstar went on to say that ShadowClan had many expecting queens: Brightmask, mate of Talonfury, was expecting her second litter, while Aurablaze, mate to Longsight, was expecting her first litter. To finish Northstar announced that prey was running fine which was a blessing from StarClan and she hoped that the other Clans were doing just as well.
Hailstorm of ThunderClan greeted Stormfire of ShadowClan and sat next to her through the gathering. The two talked quietly.
Earthheart didn't wait to step forward and begin. He announced that Blazestar was still recieving his nine lives and has yet to choose a deputy. He stated he was just speaking for RiverClan and he hoped the Clans would recognize Blazestar as the true leader of RiverClan now that the hard times were over. Earthheart then declared that prey has been running well. The weather has been good, and all of the warriors of RiverClan are healthy and ready for anything. When he finished he flashed a glare at Lightningstar. Northstar rolled her eyes realizing the tension between ThunderClan and RiverClan. Scarstar and Spiritstar didn't seem to care.
Scarstar stepped up next announcing that Windclan is thriving after the war! Rabbits have been plentiful and Scarstar was proud to announce that WindClan has five new warriors: Streamfrost, Snowybird, Dashclaw, Harewhisker, and Sparrowwing! WindClan also has Swallowfeather as a first-time Queen with her four kits and Eclipsepaw has decided that he will be Berrywatcher's apprentice!
Once Scarstar was done Spiritstar stepped up saying that Skyclan has entered a time of peace and that she had received her nine lives and SkyClan can now start anew. Spiritstar announced that Obsidianflower has been named the new deputy of Skyclan and that SkyClan also has one new warrior. Mitten, the rogue is now Silvercloud of SkyClan. Spiritstar finished by saying that SkyClan is a-new and ready to protect and defend their borders, that SkyClan is strong. The other Clan leaders seemed pleased that SkyClan was doing well.
Northstar ended the gathering before she turned to speak with Spiritstar.
The Clans mingled a bit more.
Spiritstar led SkyClan away first.
Earthheart apologized to Northstar for Eveningclaw's actions. He stated that the warrior would be punished once they returned to camp. Northstar made a comment but basically accepted the apology.
Scarstar led her clan back to WindClan's camp.
Northstar led ShadowClan back to their camp.
Lightningstar led ThunderClan back their camp.
Earthheart led RiverClan away from Fourtrees.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Battle for the Forest occurred! Many cats were killed and more were injured! But by daybreak Blazepelt had ridden Adderstar of his last life and Spiritwhisper killed Robinstar one final time! Peace has returned to the Forest!
(If you want more details just ask me (Moonpower), I didn't feel like typing everything up. There is a Summary of the entire AdderClan plot on the Story Page, just type "The Rise of AdderClan" in the search bar to find it.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ShadowClan arrived first led by Northstar,
WindClan arrived second led by Scarstar.
The two leaders nodded acknowledgement to each other while cats mingled.
ThunderClan arrived next led by Lightningstar. Lightningstar reported that Duskstar had left ThunderClan and left him to lead the Clan. Northstar replied by saying may StarClan bid him guidance. Scarstar just staid silent.
The Clans mingled
SkyClan arrived next led by Robinstar.
Then Adderstar show up leading RiverClan to the gathering.
Northstar questioned Adderstar by asking about Rain and Blazepelt. Adderstar dipped his head and replied that Rain and Blazepelt betrayed RiverClan and were exiled, the Clan then voted for him to lead RiverClan. Scarstar let out a growl and commented that Rain was a good leader, bloodline or not, Robinstar dipped her head to Adderstar, Lightningstar shifted uncomfortably with the tension, and Northstar flicked her ear, sitting further from the new RiverClan leader.
Apprentices talked.
Nightsky slipped over to Cliffheart.
Adderstar began the gathering by declaring himself Adderstar, leader of RiverClan! He annouced that Rain and Blazepelt had betrayed RiverClan and the Clan had voted him to be their next leader. He explained that Tinyspark was his deputy and that though they have suffered, they endured it all! Casting a glare at Northstar and Lightningstar he went on saying that their ambush proved their cowardice and in time RiverClan will have control of Sunningrocks once again! Addressing all Clans Adderstar announced Shimmerpaw and Otterpaw as the Clan's new apprentices and Followheart and Blackfire as RiverClan's new warriors.
Northstar bared her teeth at Adderstar's speech while Lightningstar let out a hiss.
Nightsky asked Cliffheart for help in escaping Robinstar's SkyClan.
Ignoring Lightninstar and Northstar, Adderstar continued saying that RiverClan will rise stronger than ever and he warned the Clans that they should dare not oppose them.
When Adderstar had finished, Northstar turned to Lightningstar and asked how ThunderClan was.
Cliffheart promised to help Nightsky.
Lightningstar stepped forward and announced that ThunderClan was doing well, Duskstar had left, and he, Lightningstar, became ThunderClan's leader, with Belle-Mare as his deputy.
Scarstar purred in amusement watching Lightningstar address his first gathering. Northstar blinked in surprise hearing about Lightningstar's deputy.
Rabbitdash of WindClan called out that ThunderClan's deputy didn't have a warrior name! Creeksplash, SkyClan's deputy, shouted that the forest was finally rid of Rain, ThunderClan now decides to have a kittypet as their deputy. Tinyspark of RiverClan hissed in disgust. Adderstar flattened his ears in disgust, while Robinstar commented that it was just like ThunderClan to be run by kittypets.
Upon her warrior's shout out, Scarstar hissed at Rabbitdash rather loudly, warning him to be silent. This caused the warrior to flinch.
Lightningstar bared his teeth at the shout outs, he declared that Belle-Mare was a loyal member of ThunderClan and she had proven herself time and time again to the Clan even though she wasn't born into it. He announced that after all it's about a warrior's heart, not his or her's birth, that defined them.
ThunderClan cats bristled at the other Clan cats supporting their leader.
Scarstar voiced her apologies to Lightningstar for her warrior, while Adderstar snorted, and Northstar watched the ThunderClan leader closely.
Apprentices shifted commenting about the tensions between the Clans.
Lightningstar finished by announcing that Brandypelt was expecting a litter of kits.
Northstar stepped up next declaring that ShadowClan was thriving! Though they had lost Darkstripe and Nightstrike over the past moon, Icefire and Swiftleap are expecting their first litters of kits, Loneraven and Roseleaf each had their first litters of kits, and ShadowCLan has many new apprentices: Longpaw, Hollypaw, Jaypaw, and Snowpaw, as well as new warriors: Bumbleskip, Brightflame, Redspark, and Cliffheart! ShadowClan warriors called out yowls supporting and celebrating with their leader. Northstar then turned to Robinstar and Adderstar, and declared that whatever threats they throw at them, ShadowClan will not waver! She announced that ShadowClan was proud, highly skilled, and stronger than ever! And looking right at Adderstar, Northstar went on saying that Adderstar was bold in threatening all the Clans, but the last time she saw RiverClan they were cowering in their own blood, she stated that if Adderstar was so bold to announce RiverClan as the strongest Clan then he better back up his words, and warned that ShadowClan would not stand idly by, Northstar finished by saying that StarClan has blessed ShadowClan and she prays they would bless the other Clans as well.
Adderstar and Robinstar bared their teeth at the ShadowClan leader, while Scarstar and Lightningstar nodded to her.
Robinstar stepped forward with a lash of her tail and mewed to Northstar that SkyClan could handle anything they threw at them. She turned to the Clans and announced that Cavernshade was SkyClan's new warrior and Wasppaw was SkyClan's new apprentice who was ready and willing to serve SkyClan. She finished by declaring that SkyClan is and always will be strong.
Scarstar then stepped forward and addressed the Clans by saying that WindClan has thrived over the past moon more than it has ever had. She proudly announced Redpaw, Dashpaw, Harepaw, Pigeonpaw, Rockpaw, and Dewpaw as WindClan's new apprentices and Dustswirl, Swallowfeather, Fallowmeadow, and Harmonysong as WindClan's new warriors. She finished by declaring WindClan as strong as ever and by warning that challenging them would be unwise.
With the leaders finished, Northstar stepped up and declared the gathering to be over before she led her Clan out. Nightsky slipped in the ShadowClan cats beside Cliffheart and left with the ShadowClan cats.
Scarstar called her Clan to depart before leaving the gathering.
Lightningstar led ThunderClan out.
Robinstar ordered Creeksplash to lead SkyClan back to camp, while Adderstar ordered Tinyspark to lead RiverClan away. The two then staid and talked a while.

When Northstar challenged Robinstar on Russetfall's absence, the new SkyClan leader announced that Russetfall was too cowardly to lead so he fled. Northstar wish Robinstar well through the hard times ahead. Scarstar turned to the starry sky.
~~Cats mingled.
~~Northstar nodded for Scarstar to start the gathering. Crimsontail of ShadowClan tried to go after Adderbone of RiverClan, but Closesky of ShadowClan stopped him.
~~Scarstar reported that WindClan has been thriving through Greenleaf! They are so thankful they didn't lose any clanmates over the past moon. Scarstar was happy to announce that their only problems are the twolegs on their territory and she announced that they have two new warriors: Fallowmeadow and Harmonysong! WindClan also has many new apprentices: Airpaw, Cherrypaw, Fogpaw, and Weaselpaw! Many cats cheered for the new warriors and apprentices.

Warriors of ShadowClan yowled cheers of agreement with their leader!
~~Blazepelt stepped up next saying that RiverClan was doing well and prey was plentiful. He announced that the peace they've been experiencing has made them stronger and not weaker! They are fully fed and ready for anything or anyone! Blazepelt glanced at the other leaders, then went on to say that they lost Frozenlake over the past moon after she fell into the gorge. The Clan mourns her loss. It seemed as if Blazepelt was holding something else back. The deputy stated that with every death comes new life! RiverClan gained two new kits over the past moon: Otterkit and Shimmerkit! Blazepelt finished by declaring that RiverClan is powerful!
~~Closesky of ShadowClan bared his teeth at Blazepelt, calling him out by asking if RiverClan was so 'strong' then why wasn't Rain here at the gathering? Blazepelt, however, ignored him.
~~Brackenshade of ThunderClan stood up, calling for Blazepelt to answer the question: where was Rain?
~~Darkpaw of thunderClan called out that RiverClan was weak!
~~Blazepelt bared his teeth calling for the warriors to mind their own business!
~~Brackenshade scoffed saying that the 'great' RiverClan deputy can't admit when they're weak. He stated Rain didn't care enough about Clan ways that she didn't even bother to show up to the gathering.
~~Blazepelt growled and warned Brackenshade that he was stepping out of line!
~~Robinstar cut off the argument by stating that SkyClan was thriving! However, she is sad to announce the loss of Hopestar and Russetfall. Russetfall couldn't handle the life of a leader and StarClan made Robinstar the new leader of SkyClan! Robinstar's deputy is Creeksplash and she reported that SkyClan has no troubles, they are strong and won't tolerate any funny business! Robinstar looked at Northstar and Blazepelt.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ShadowClan was the first to arrive, led by Northstar
RiverClan arrived second, led by their deputy, Blazepelt
Tensions between the two clans sparked greatly as Fishpaw picked a fight with Cliffpaw and Scorchfire. Blazeleap came in the argument and it got heated.
WindClan arrived next, Led by the warrior Wildspirit.
Clouds started to cover the moon
SkyClan arrived, Led by their deputy, Russetfall.
Finally four arguing cats walked away from each other.
ThunderClan showed up last being led by their deputy Clawpelt.
The Clans mingled.
Scarstar showed up late, and took her place on the Great Rock.
Clawpelt informed the other Leaders that Silverstar is no more, and that he isn't the leader. He explained that Silverstar changed her mind on her deputy before she died and chose Duskclaw; who is currently getting her nine lives and couldn't show. Northstar was shocked to hear the news. Scarstar seemed to stiffen. Blazepelt stiffened.
Russetfall calmly explained that Hopestar couldn't make it because of illness.
Clawpelt started the gathering by relaying his news about Silverstar and her deputy switch. It was clear to tell that Clawpelt was angry with it.
Blazepelt stepped up next and declared that even though Rain couldn't make it RiverClan was stronger than ever and ready to face anyone who dares challenge them; the deputy made a hint to look at Northstar. Blazepelt then stated that New-leaf has been a grand renewal for RiverClan and annouced that they had two knew warriors: Ripplepond and Streampool. He also stated that Fishpaw would be made a warrior soon since he passed his assessment with flying colors. The RiverClan deputy ended by nailing down that RiverClan was strong enough to face anything! Northstar seemed moved in a way by Blazepelt's words.
Russetfall stood up next explaining that Hopestar couldn't make it to the gathering because she had a slight cough. He warned the Clans that Hopestar's condition didn't make SkyClan any less strong. The SkyClan deputy stated that Overall, SkyClan has been thriving and stronger than they have ever been.
WindClan reported next declaring that they were strong this new-leaf even though they are having some trouble with twolegs. Sparrowpaw and Streampaw were announced as WindClan's new apprentices and Cheetahheart and Swallowfeather were announced as WindClan's new warriors. It was reported that Cloversong and Silverjay were killed over the past moon and that Leafclaw is WindClan's new deputy while Berrywatcher is WindClan's new medicine cat. The biggest surprise was that the former leader of WindClan, Wolfstar, had returned and was living the life of a warrior as Wolfclaw. WindClan ended by saying that they were full of strong warriors and tunnelers and can stand against any threat!
Northstar stepped up last announcing that ShadowClan had thrived in the past moon with new apprentices: Dawnpaw, Sharppaw, Crystalpaw, and Toadpaw! The ShadowClan leader also announced that they had two new warriors: Scorchfire and Troutleap! Turning to the other leaders Northstar warned of a fox they chased into SkyClan territory. There was one piece of bad news Northstar announced, and that was that Aurablaze, ShadowClan's deputy, had been bitten by an adder and was on the verge of life. Northstar explained that Frostshard and Bumblepaw were doing everything they could for the deputy but her life is in StarClan's paws now. Northstar ended by reminding everyone that ShadowClan was strong and that they weren't a Clan to trifle with!
Blazepelt then stood up and announced that the gathering was over and he led RiverClan out.
WindClan left next.
Russetfall, led SkyClan out third
Northstar and Clawpelt spoke for a while before Leading their Clans back.
SkyClan arrived first led by Nightstar, she spotted Blackadder's body on the Great Rock and did nothing but sit next to it. RiverClan followed next, led by Rain, the RiverClan leader ignored Blackadder's body. Northstar then brought in ShadowClan, the young leader was carrying a kit in her jaws, Sorrelkit of WindClan. The ShadowClan leader glared at Blackadder's body and pushed it off the Great Rock. The three clans mingled and talked.
WindClan was the next to come after a while of waiting, they were led by Scarstar who bolted onto the Great Rock. As Scarstar was greeting the other leaders and explained she had something to take care of in their camp, She noticed the kit Northstar had with her and after a few moments the WindClan leader recognized the young WindClan kit.
Oceantide, a missing RiverClan cat, came with WindClan to the gathering, she was greeted by her family in RiverClan.
ThunderClan was the last to arrive, led by Goldenclaw, a senior warrior. The other leaders/clans made a few remarks about ThunderClan's lateness and leader problems.
Northstar stood up, holding the WindClan kit between her paws and called for the gathering to start. She stood tall and annouced that ShadowClan has had a few hardships over the past moon but declared that they had many new warriors, one of them being Aurablaze, ShadowClan's new deputy. Northstar explained how the former deputy, Lostraven, was killed by one of Blackadder's rogues, however Aurablaze avenged her mother and killed the rogue. Northstar reminded the clans by motioning toward Blackadder's body, that the terrible tyrant was dead. The clans held their heads at the news of Lostraven, but otherwise congratulated Aurablaze.
Northstar went on to explain that during the battle against Blackadder, ShadowClan gained a few kits, including Sorrelkit of WindClan Northstar turned to Scarstar and shared her belief that it was time for young Sorrelkit to return to WindClan.
Scarstar stood up as the young kit came to her, she thanked Northstar and kept the kit next to herself. Northstar returned the thanks just by stating that ShadowClan was happy to bring her back where she belonged, she then turned out to the cats and stated that ShadowClan has grown strong, with many warrior and apprentices, along with Milkpelt's and Sunspirit's new kits, their dens are expanding because of their numbers. Northstar declared that ShadowClan stands strong, ready for anything.
A young ThunderClan apprentice stood up after Northstar was finished, stating that if ShadowClan was ready then why not hear the news, Darkeyes a former ShadowClan exile was now in ThunderClan with a mate and kits. Northstar stood hearing the young apprentice, she spotted Darkeyes through the crowd and whipped around at Goldenclaw questioning them on why they let the traitor into their camp. Nightstar simply stated "Trust ThunderClan to do something mouse-brain, and they will never fail you"
Goldenclaw replied to the ShadowClan leader saying that it wasn't his decision. Many cats made crude remarks about ThunderClan.
Northstar narrowed her eyes as she looked at Goldenclaw she stated that Darkeyes couldn't be trusted, that he attacked Snakestripe back when Snakestripe was a kit. Through the remarks Darkeyes had been trying to speak. Scarstar growled at the cats to give Darkeyes a chance to speak. Reluctantly Northstar stopped to hear what the exile had to say. Darkeyes stated that he would leave if that is what everyone wanted, he didn't want to make anyone feel unsafe in their own home, the last thing he said was that he was sorry he hurt ShadowClan. After saying that, Darkeyes turned to leave the gathering. Northstar watched him go with narrow eyes. Scarstar stated that he speaks of truth but the past cannot be denied. Nightstar stated that she believed it was up to ThunderClan on whether or not they wanted to keep Darkeyes
Rain was the next to step up she stated that RiverClan is getting stronger everyday. They have named many new apprentice, and their queen Fogstorm has had two new kits, Streamkit and Ripplekit. However with a gain there is a loss. RiverClan lost Ravenwhisker earlier that day when he was fighting a fox, the fox was chased away but Ravenwhisker was still dead. he was a good warrior and will be missed. Rain also brought up Oceantide, claiming that they thought she was dead but apparently not. Rain also brought up that Otterfish was RiverClan's new deputy and other than that she warned the other clans of a fox family. The other leaders gave warning looks to their deputies so that their patrols would look out for the fox family. Many warriors cheered for Otterfish.
Nightstar was the next to step up, she declared that SkyClan was doing well, that they have a couple of new apprentice and no shortage of prey. She mentioned that a short while ago a badger broke into camp but thankfully they were able to take care of it without any casualties, althought their medicine cats were quite busy afterwards. They did not find any other signs of badgers but Nightstar advised that everyone be vigilant in case more appear. The cats were uneasy hearing of the badger
Once Nightstar was finished, Silverleaf, deputy of ThunderClan padded into the clearing, she flicked her tail to signal Blazerush and Goldenclaw down and jumped up on the Great Rock, dipper her head to the leaders she apologized for her lateness. Many cats muttered about the deputy's lateness.
Scarstar stepped up and exclaimed that WindClan was flourishing once again! Many new kits were born and they have gained a new tunneler and warrior, Jaysoul and Rosefeather! They have also earned two new apprentices, Fallowpaw and Harmonypaw. Scarstar never mentioned why Oceantide came in with her clan. Many cats were happy to hear the good news
Shadowfur, a ShadowClan warrior, stood up and asked if Rain was still keeping her name, she declared that she knew it was wrong to make a rogue a leader. Her clanmate Minnowleap growled at her asking her if there was really anything wrong with that. While Northstar gave her cats a warning look. Sandslash of SkyClan stood up and asked if WindClan was taking in RiverClan cats. RiverClan's medicine cat, Reedflight, growled hearing the SkyClan warrior's remark and Scarstar hissed at him.
Silverleaf cut in and declared that not much has happened in ThunderClan through the past moon, they have had a few kits and they welcome Skyblossom as a new mother. Silverleaf never mentioned that ThunderClan won back Sunningrocks.
Shadowfur declared that everything was wrong with a rogue becoming leader and she warned by cats of other clans to stop talking or else. Nightsky of SkyClan got to her paws and declared that rogues couldn't be leaders, it is against the warrior code to even allow a rogue into camp, that it breaks so many rules. Adderpaw of RiverClan stood up and declared that Oceantide was a traitor for leaving RiverClan for WindClan Sandslash of SkyClan called WindClan cats rabbit-ears
Rain was ignoring the outbursts, Northstar flattened her ears against them. Lavendersky, SkyClan's medicine cat, got to her paws and asked the leaders if she may join them on the Great Rock to speak. Northstar looked at Lavendersky and nodded
The cats were all shouting out different remarks
Lavendersky scampered up on the Great Rock with some help from Scarstar and shouted for the cats to be quiet.
After a while the leaders were able to get the cats to calm down so Lavendersky could speak.
The SkyClan medicine cat started by calling everyone mouse-brains. She explained that she herself was a rogue and that she has never once betrayed her clan but it seemed like her clan was betraying her. Lavendersky delclared that she would not sit and listen to her own clanmates talk bat about cats with her history or half-clan history. She said that as Scarstar pointed out, everyone was descented from a rogue or a kittypet history. Lavendersky declared that until the clans sort themselves out, she would no longer be accepting anyone into the medicine den at SkyClan!
This astounded many cats.
Scarstar had said that Lavendersky was making a bold move.
After a moment Northstar turned to the other leaders and mewed "And with that I believe we should end the gathering."
Nightstar nodded in agreement.
Rain looked at Lavendersky and complimented her wise words, she stated that until the clan can learn to accept that we are just as loyal as clanborn, RiverClan will not becoming to Gatherings. With a nod to Northstar she flicked her tail for RiverClan to go.
Northstar called for ShadowClan and led them back to their camp.
Nightstar called for her clan to head back to their camp.
Silverleaf led ThunderClan back to their camp.
Scarstar picked up Sorrelkit and led her clan back to their camp.
This Rp has been going since 2010. We've had many gatherings since its start. The news of our earliest gatherings have been lost to time and deleted pages.
