"I was not cowering!" Hawkfury snapped. He refused to let himself. Sandrose had been with them that day and he never let himself get scared when she was near when they were apprentices.
"I could navigate any tunnel!" He fumed, having to push down his fury before the cat he was trying to give advice to didn't take him seriously.
"Gah, toss off. The kit here'll find something to fix this. If all fails, I want to be the first to bonk him on the head with my foot." He grumbled.

Scarstar snickered as she listened to him, "Your tail was three times its normal size, and you nearly cleaned your fur off showing off your attempt at bravery to your future mate." She meowed, looking at Swiftstar. "Even the bravest of cats, and most stubborn, were at one time wily little kits."
(Haha! You thought that too?! I was thinking more fanfics, because I can't art cats, but still!)

"Hmph. I easily surpassed all my denmates...almost, all of them." Hawkfury boasted, but knew Sandrose had been much faster and smarter than he ever had been. It was why he had loved her. She had also been patient and understood him. He grinned to Swiftstar.
"And even the most respected of leaders can make stupid decisions. You ain't gonna fail anyone because any mistake you make, you learn from it." He rolled his eyes at Scarstar, but relaxed his fur.

Scarstar snorted softly, "I remember several cats who easily passed you." She meowed, before looking at Swiftstar. "I am not without my own faults, as is shown on my pelt everyday. I was much older than you, and I made many mistakes, some of which are still there today."
Tinywillow nodded slightly, "Smart kit."

"But this clan is yours now. It's not ours anymore." Hawkfury glanced at the two cats with him. He looked at Duskwhisper and Scarstar.
"Lead it without regret or fear. Do what you think is right...do NOT allow yourself to be pushed around. Windclan needs you...they will need you now, kit." Hawkfury mewed seriously.
"Listen to your former leader and mentor, moor-runners, and Duskwhisper, a skilled tunnler. Find even ground. Do not let your clan ruin itself, so help me!" He grumbled.

"Now your are fretting more than a Queen Hawkfury!" Scarstar complained, shaking her head at the younger tom before looking at Swiftstar. "Worry not, the understanding of being a leader will come in time. Stand your ground, and while arguing and fussing is part of clan life, make sure the clan sees that you are trying to do what is best for them, even if it takes time for them to believe so."
"Talk to the tunnelers, try to take a day to become a tunneler yourself as well." Duskwhisper meowed, glancing at Scarstar. "She did the same thing, but don't be as your former leader and fall into a burrow."

"I got my name because of a badger, and was killed by a badger saving an apprentice from the same fate. Starclan does that sometimes." Scarstar snickered, looking at Swiftstar with a soft purr.

Swiftstar nodded, encouraged by the dead cats' words. He looked around and started to see StarClan begin to fade. He was waking up. "Thank you again, so much." He murmured as everything faded.
Swiftstar blinked open his eyes and stood, shaking out his pelt.

Scarstar dipped her head to the young leader, before flicking her tail and turning to pad off, to join her mate who was waiting in the background.
Duskwhisper sighed softly, "Can anyone actually understand what I say? My voice sounds odd..." He rumbled to himself, not used to being able to speak.
