Spiderbite woke with a start. The glow of the moonstone growing dim. He looked at Lavendersky beside him, his fur still bristling from what Eaglecry and Gorgeriver had told him.

Aspenfall awoke to the sensation of grass tickling his nose. The medicine cat stood and observed his surroundings, flicking his ear in curiosity. This place didn't seem like StarClan or ThunderClan; there were no trees in sight and nothing but grass beneath his paws. WindClan? he wondered to himself before shaking his head. This didn't seem like the moor either. He saw a flash of movement in the grass and felt the itch to hunt in his paws. A mouse scurried from the undergrowth, followed by yet another before his eyes. Before the medicine cat could consider if he was actually dreaming, prey began rushing out in droves all around him in a way that he couldn't imagine. Realization struck Aspenfall at the sight. I'm not supposed to be looking at the scenery. This has to be an omen. His heart began to race as he watched to see what StarClan was attempting to show him. It was rare for him to receive omens; he figured they went to Peachdapple instead. Prey of different kinds continued to surround Aspenfall in silence before they all stopped and faced him. The silence as the creatures stared at him, unblinking, gave him a chill down his spine. All at once, chaos erupted. The animals began lunging at one another, biting and clawing, as he was deafened by the sudden fight. Some of the creatures went down fighting and covered in blood; others fell to an unseen force. Aspenfall flattened his ears and turned away from the carnage. Great StarClan! As if StarClan heard his expression, the noise of battle faded. Aspenfall turned back to the scene for one more moment before jolting awake. He was back at the Moonstone and completely unharmed. He immediately turned to Peachdapple and saw she was awake. Had she received an omen, too? Or was her visit peaceful? The look on her face did nothing to reassure him, and he tried to smooth the ripple on his spine. Is StarClan warning us of famine?Peachdapple watched Aspenfall awaken, able to tell by the startle he showed that Starclan must have sent him quite an impactful vision as well. She had no intention to share hers with anyone but Aspenfall, and so she padded close to his side and nudged him gently, murmuring quietly to him. “You’re awake now, dear. We have much to discuss…”

Snowdance lowered her head, his grief almost overwhelming her. He must have been talking of a lost mate, to feel such sadness like this. “I see. I think… I think I understand.” She mewed, looking back up at the warrior, his name still unknown to her. She vaguely remembered stories of a deputy named Lostraven, but it had been so long since she had heard those stories. Could this be who the StarClan warrior be talking about. “I’m truly sorry for your loss.” She murmured. Wasn’t sure if you saw this, Moon ^.^’)

(I did miss that. Sorry Ice ^.^")
Bateyes slowly sighed, seeming eased by Snowdance's words. "One life regiven to be a life now forsaken. Another regiven still has path undetermined. Destruction or strength only living shadows can pave the way."

But will it be the same sign? he worried, glancing over at the other medicine cats. He couldn't help but notice how shaken and uncertain they looked as well. Was StarClan warning all the Clans? Would he... would he be prepared?

Would he... would he be prepared? Peachdapple caught Aspenfall's look, her own swimming with realization that what he had seen must have not been pleasant. Had he somehow seen her vision, of Silentflare being swallowed by darkness, or of the plummeting through the air with a massive storm behind her? She felt that the lightning and the chilling screeches from unknown sources had a very strong importance, and she had a feeling in her heart what that meant. It made her stomach curl, and her heart ache at the implications. She nodded to her apprentice. "Are you alright?"

"I..." Aspenfall trailed and looked away from Peachdapple back to the Moonstone. Some of the medicine cats were still speaking with StarClan. "We'll need to talk as soon as we get back to camp," he whispered, looking back at his mentor. "I think StarClan has warned us."

"We'll need to talk as soon as we get back to camp," he whispered, looking back at his mentor. "I think StarClan has warned us." "I think you're right. And if we both saw something to warrant such a response... then I fear that there are much darker times still ahead of us." Peachdapple whispered, looking up quickly at the other Medicine Cats before she flicked her ear and continued. "As soon as we get back, yes." She nodded, still not sure as to why she felt so much desire to just be near her apprentice, as though moving away from him would be the last time she ever saw him.

Snowdance flicked her ear, memorizing the words he had spoken. This time, she wasn’t going to forget. It could be another clue in the right direction of figuring this prophecy out. She felt a sudden sense of fear and thought she heard the sound of snarling and the snapping of jaws, the smell of blood filling her nose. Snowdance felt her fur start to rise at the sounds and smells, not liking it one bit. Could this be about the Prey Maulers? Snowdance suddenly blinked open her eyes, back at the Moonstone, and sat up. She gave her fur a shake, trying to rid herself of the lingering fear that she had felt and looked over at Opalmist. Snowdance blinked hard when she saw her apprentice, because for a moment, it hadn’t been Opalmist standing before her. It had been a black furred she-cat with green eyes. She gave a shake of her head and looked at Opalmist again, only seeing her the way she always had been. Snowdance frowned, wondering what it could have meant:

Opalmist glanced up at Snowdance as soon as she awoke and looked her way, though Opalmist’s grief and guilt were threatening to overwhelm her. She lost her connection, Starclan had cut her out, but worst of all, she knew her own daughter would suffer the most. She… she didn’t know what to do! She had given up motherhood to keep her position, to keep healing her Clanmates. Snowdance was growing older, and Opalmist knew she could now no longer teach an apprentice the ways of Starclan.
She needed to tell, surely. Needed to admit the truth, anything to erase this guilt, and yet she knew that if she did, everything would fall apart. For now, she stared at Snowdance, taking everything she had just to keep it together.

Spiderbite looked to the other medicine cats, realizing from their expressions that they each had some disturbing dream as well. He glanced at his mentor, wondering what StarClan had told her. Should he speak what he saw with the other medicine cats? What if it was something to effect all the Clans?

Cedarstar shook out his pelt when they finally exited WindClan territory. Thank StarClan we didn't run into anyone. However, he was a bit unnerved by how the territory looked. The sky dark, the winds stronger than normal. Cedarstar looked back at the patrol to make sure everyone was alright. Moonpetal stayed by Sunpaw while Palepaw smiled at him. Cedarstar looked to Bumbleskip. "Why don't you take the lead from here?" He didn't want to admit it, but he wasn't completely sure where the Mothermouth was having only been to the Moonstone once and that was to get his nine lives.

Bumbleskip looked a bit bewildered at the request but nodded, "Oh um sure Cedarstar. It's been quite a while since I went to the moonstone, but I think I remember the way." The senior warrior made his way to the front of the patrol, looking at the looming cliffs ahead. He was determined to prove himself after the disaster he had been in the last few moons. He promised Redspark he would be better for the clan. "Frostshard always took the path up the side of the cliffs, it's less steep. We can follow that one."

Cedarstar flicked his ear twice. Cliffs? He remembered Snowdance leading him through woodland, but he had also been pretty anxious on his journey to his nine lives. Maybe he'd been too lost in conflict back then to notice the cliffs? Cedarstar paused to look back at his son. "Palepaw, stay close. Sunpaw, Moonpetal, why don't you take up the rear?"
Moonpetal nodded while Palepaw padded up beside his father. "Are you going to tell me what StarClan says to you on the way back?"
Cedarstar flicked his ear twice and looked away from his son. He wasn't sure he wanted to know what StarClan would say. I have to get answers from them, he told himself. He couldn't go on with these visions and prophecies and Prey Maulers. "It'll depend on what they say," he managed to say calmly.
Palepaw seemed to accept the answer and he looked at Bumbleskip. "I heard you trained as a medicine cat when you were my age. Did you ever meet with StarClan at the moonstone?"
