I believe we already have a semi-compromise in place. LGBT characters can be banned from your role play if there is GOOD REASON. Same as specific coat colors/patterns. If you don't have a GOOD REASON to ban them, it's discrimination. Though I think banning them from RPs isn't discriminating against the people. It's against the sexuality/whatever, which =/= the people. It's just a facet of them, like introversion/extroversion. Tho people aren't murdered for being introverts so LGBT issues could definitely have an exception

➳ i don't see the point in arguing. The rule is what it is, and the mods will enforce that. Those who absolutely cant stand having a few LGBT characters in their roleplay just... shouldn't be making a roleplay, in any case

I'm not arguing against the rule or my religion. I'm not arguing at all,in fact I'm completely calm. I support the lgbt community. But that doesn't mean I want to be forced to change my rules. u support the lgbt community but u don't want them in a fkn role play because it makes u uncomfortable..... ok... seems legit..... cry me a river pal

•♕• get over not wanting The Gays to be in your roleplays, ok? like, give me a legit reason why a lgbtq character would be a problem in an rp, seriously •♔•

I agree with you all the way, MorningGlory. I think this will make some forumers leave . . People are already complaining that forum-wide activity is dropping. This will make it drop like a stone thank gawd rid the forum of homophobes 2k16

I can name quite a few active RPs that don't allow LGBT+ characters, both in off topic rp and fan clans (it makes people uncomfortable but having 10000+ straight characters is fine and realist apparently) lmao.

Would you mind pm'ing the links to me so I can alert them of the new rule? I've only found 1 in fan clans but that was around 11pm last night and I was basically like a zombie.

I'd say the roleplay creators would need a damn, well thought out, and not to mention decent reason if they disagree with this rule. If it's not good enough, then they have to follow it like everyone else.

To be honest, it sounds like the "good reason" thing is too subjective. One mod could be sympathetic to a certain reason that other mods aren't. "Good reason" is too open ended. Maybe make it "reason outside of "it makes me uncomfortable"" ? Or just ban the ability to exclude them entirely and avoid the hassle

i'd personally vote for the latter as putting up with the fact that people may want special treatment would be a hassle and then lead others to believe they all get that too.

Okay, I support that.
Final views: Leaving it open ended is too much of a hassle, and there shouldn't be a "good reason" option like you would use for banning pelt/eye colors or introversion/extroversion. People are killed for being LGBT but not blue eyed or extroverted. Treating the banning of all those things (pelt/eye colors, introversion/extroversion, and LGBT characters) the same would be disrespectful to those who have lost their lives.

What if someone such as myself does 1x1 roleplays and their preference is mxf? Are we even allowed to say that? :/
And when you say any groups of people what does that actually mean? I mean LGBTQ+ community of course, but what kind of other groups are you talking? Please be specific.

Groups such as religious ones, political, ethnic, etc.

Groups such as religious ones, political, ethnic, etc. So people shouldn't get upset over that and I won't get in trouble? Will you really do that for all of the groups though? Actually keep your word? I've noticed that mods often take sides in the matter and let things slip. A lot of my beliefs are not supported here by what seems to be the majority, normally I keep it to myself but it's kind of hurtful to feel like I can't be welcome in the community because of the groups I'm in that aren't often supported by the mods.

I'm sure that if you ask someone if they considered their religion, sexuality, gender etc. part of their identity, they'd say yes. That's where you draw the line. If it's part of someones identity, you cannot have a rule against it.
In the african setting, you could have rules for only joining as someones kid or claim a character. This gives you control of having only darker tones of skin, for genetic realism. Nobody on these forums is inherently discriminated by having realistic genetics, making realistic pelts only rules allowed. If having something tied to someones identity bothers you that much, make it claim a character, it gives you full control over the characters.

I promise to keep my word on this, otherwise it would have not been an enforced rule. As staff, biases are to be very rare / nonexistent, but there are times when our personal beliefs are shown whether it was an accident or not. It's understandable, the community here isn't all one sided if that makes sense. Not everyone believes in a high power or agrees with views on politics, etc.
You have my word.
