- Victoire
The cold was the only thing on Victoire's mind, at the moment. It was very, very cold both outside and inside, and it prevented her from thinking. She was too busy grumbling about how irritating it was, wrapping her scarf tighter around her neck as her teeth chattered. She was in the Great Hall, for heavens sake! She shouldn't be freezing? "You would think a school filled with people who can do magic could at least handle keeping everyone from freezing to death," she mumbled to herself as she took an angry bite of the muffin she had grabbed for breakfast. Poor muffin. It had done nothing to deserve that. Glancing around her table, she decided that there was no one interesting to talk to, and instead started to look at the other tables for someone she knew. Maybe her sister was here, or Teddy...she couldn't find either. What a shame. She was going to remind her sister that she wasn't allowed to date at all, even if there was a ball coming up, and remind Teddy not to be a jerk and ask five different girls. However, it looked like there was no one around for her to scold...so, she decided to sit back and wait for someone else to approach her. Surely someone would want to talk to her, right? ─────✧─────- Alex
Bundled up in about five layers of clothing, Alex somehow managed to waddle into the room, keeping his head down and face covered, as usual. However, as soon as he sat down at the Hufflepuff table, he brushed his hair out of his face, giving his housemates a shy smile before beginning to remove all the layers he had put on before arriving. He got sick very easily, so he needed to stay warm! Once he had managed to get the majority of it off, he grabbed a plate, piling food onto it until he was satisfied with the amount. For someone who was so in-shape, he sure did eat a lot...it was kind of a Hufflepuff thing. They all ate a lot. While he shoveled food in his mouth, he listened in on other people's conversations, something he was very good at. Did he do it on purpose? No. But unless someone was going to approach him, he wasn't going to speak, which made it rather difficult not to hear every conversation going on at the table.
─────✧─────
- Rose
It was very, very rare to see Rose without a book in her hand, and like every other day, she had her nose buried in one now. She was pretty much completely ignoring the food, as she didn't eat breakfast, and only came down to the Great Hall because she had to. If she had it her way, she'd stay in her dorm all day long, reading and only leaving to go to classes. Yes, that would be perfect. But alas, Rose couldn't make everything go her way, so she was forced to come down to the noisy, cold room. Ugh. Putting down her book for a split second, she looked around at the people who currently occupied the Ravenclaw table. Despite them being extremely smart, Rose still saw them as idiots. They were just as loud and irritating as everyone else in the place, and at times like this, she wondered how they had even been sorted into Ravenclaw. She kind of wished she had been put into Slytherin, actually, because they were at least quiet. Giving up, she got to her feet, gathering up her stuff despite the eyes turning to look at her, people curious to see what exactly she was doing.
─────✧─────
- Nikolai
Nikolai hated everyone. Absolutely hated them. Why did they have to be so loud? Especially the Gryffindors. They were the worst, and he was stuck in a house with them. They were acting like complete children, and with narrowed eyes, the boy inches away from his housemates. He just wanted to eat his breakfast in peace. Was that too much to ask? Apparently it was. He wanted to leave, but that would call attention to himself, which he certainly didn't want. Unlike most Gryffindors, he despised having any attention on him. It was just...embarrassing. He'd rather sneak away silently, but that was impossible at the moment. So, for the time being, he was stuck there, left to glare at the obnoxious people, who weren't taking a hint. You would think they would notice someone who looked like they wanted to murder them, but nope. None of them even glanced at Nikolai.

Cal had finally entered the Great Hall, hair sticking up in multiple directions, a scowl plastered on his face. This was normal, however, for him - Cal hated mornings, and everyone knew it. Vienna, his sister, sometimes wouldn’t even make it to breakfast on certain days.
With a frown, he took in the freezing temperature of the Great Hall; they were wizards, damn it, they should be able to regulate the temperature in a room. He gave a quick glance to the ceiling, taking in the weather. He was a Slytherin, and having a common room with windows that looked into the lake, he usually had no idea what the weather was before he sat down to breakfast. Eyes coming back to the tables, he made his way to the Slytherin table, seeing the familiar head of Victoire Weasley. By no means were they friends, but they were at least acquaintances. That was why he slid into the empty seat next to her. Noting her scarf, he mumbled, “If our common room had windows, I think I would’ve brought my gloves and winter coat.”

Ari dashed into the Great Hall, stopping quickly to collect herself, the Seventh Year making an attempt to look more collected then she really was. The girl didn't like the Great Hall that much, only reminding her even more about how she had very few friends in Ravenclaw, the ones she had made where her dorm mates and other Muggle borns, but not many past that. It seemed as if anyone who grew up in a wizarding household was loud, boisterous, and didn't have much interest in muggle-related things, something that Ari new most about. Pushing her hair back, she glanced around, realizing that none of her friends in her house had made it down quite yet, or they had already left. She wrinkled her nose, unsure where to sit, her attention flicking from one thing to the next, unable to keep it on one person. The less sleep she had, the worse her attention span got, and, unfortunately, she had 4 hours of sleep, meaning her mind was in hyperdrive right now and her attention span was that of a nats. Whoops. She shivered, only now realizing how cold it was. She should have brought something warm for the day, but, alas, all she did was throw her robes on and dash down into the dining hall.
(Could she be a friend of one of a character thats not in Ravenclaw?)

- Victoire
Oh, lovely. Someone had decided to sit by her. She had called it. She expected it to be some guy wanting to hit on her, or one of her few female frenemies in Slytherin, but was pleasantly surprised when she glanced over and noticed it was neither. She could vaguely recall his name, and though they certainly weren't friends, she was willing to talk to him. He seemed less idiotic than the majority of the males in Slytherin, so she would give him a bit of her time. "Just ask someone else to give you their jacket or something." That was much easier for her to do than it would be for him, since people were...well, very eager to do what Victoire asked whenever she gave them that pretty smile of her. Just one advantage of being part Veela. "Would you like my scarf?" It was odd that she was offering, as Victoire was not a selfless person, but it was obvious to her why it would be a wise decision to offer. She didn't want to be on bad terms with him, as his family was fairly dangerous, and his sister annoyed her beyond belief, so, being kind to her brother to irritate the other would be some form of payback. "I can just get another one from one of my cousins or something." She had plenty of them. Without waiting for an answer, she unwrapped the long scarf from around her neck, and started tying it around the other's instead. "Besides, I'm more than happy to catch a cold. Maybe then I can actually go home."

(Lol, okay.) She glanced over at the Gryffindor table, supressing a smirk as she noted her friend glaring at his house-mates. Poor guy, at least some of the Ravenclaws where quiet, but a quiet Gryffindor was something that was practically unheard of. Part of her wanted to wave to him, the two had met on his first train-ride to Hogwarts and had hit it off since then, despite them being in different houses. She was genuinely surprised, that he had been placed in Gryffindor instead of Slytherin. Nothing against the boy, he just didn't fit the typical mold of the red-clad house. She made eye contact with the boy on accident, her eyes flitting around so fast that she accidentally made eye contact with the boy. She offered him smirk and a wave.

This is long??? You don't have to mirror me omg and either Victoire is going to hate Cal or they're gonna be best friends)
For Cal, Victoire wasn't someone he was trying to hit on. The whole part-Veela thing was definitely something he didn't want to dive into, even though he had to appreciatively say she was pretty. But who knew? Maybe one day during an after party for a particularly key Slytherin Quidditch win, he'd foolishly say something to her. He had done it before with others in their House, and he was sure it would happen again.
When she offered her advice of asking someone to give him a piece of winterish clothing, he laughed. "I don't think many people would be willing to give up their scarves or coats, what with their whole personal vendettas against Vienna." This, for the most part, was true. His older sister was notoriously...well, not particularly friendly, so a lot of Slytherins didn't like her. Cal's own small, select friend group were kids who didn't actually mind his blood relation, and somewhat likeness, to Vienna. And never mind asking someone who wasn't a Slytherin - it was known fact that Cal, like most of his family, thought Slytherin was the best House at Hogwarts, the only one that ensured blood purity or excellence. The last thing Cal would ever want to do would appear to grovel to a lesser House, or Merlin forbid, his brother who was put into Ravenclaw. To Cal and Vienna - and probably the rest of the Davenports - this was a capital sin, a blemish on their family, to not be a Slytherin.
Before he could protest, though, Victoire Weasley was knotting her green-and-silver scarf around his neck. He was sure the male audience that surrounded Victoire was surely jealous of this, but Cal just blinked, still not expecting what had happened. "Thank you," he said cautiously, a bit humor lacing his words. Momentarily he wondered what it would be like, to have close family members within the school, considering how distant the Davenport siblings were. "I think you singlehandedly made every guy in this castle want my head so I can spill my secrets about how I made this happen." Obviously, this was a joke, and Cal pressed on. "And I hear you. Seriously, dunk your toes into the lake, you'll have a cold bad enough to send you home within minutes." He shook his head, bringing his eyes to scan the room.

- Victoire
That was a very smart decision on Cal's part. Even if she was only an eight Veela, and the rest of her was pure wizard, she was still pretty powerful when it came to manipulating people. Which was something she found amusing to do, so trying to avoid letting her know you found her attractive was a good idea. Besides, it annoyed her. A comment after a game wouldn't, but that's not usually all she got. Cal wasn't the kind to do either of those things anyways, at least from what Vic could tell, which was part of why she already decided to like him. The other part was because he was just as mean as her, but unlike his sister, was no threat to her alpha female position within Slytherin.
"Yes, I can see that. But people seem to like you far more than her, so I'm sure you could find someone." Victoire was one of the people who hated Vienna's guts, but that didn't mean she was going to be rude to Cal because of it. That was a level of petty even she hadn't achevied yet. Besides, it was what a lot of people did to her family, so she was mildly sensitive to it. The only difference was she was the mean older sister, and her siblings were the ones who were hated for it. She also wasn't as hated as Vienna, or at least she didn't think, so perhaps it was a little better for her little brother and sister than it was for Cal. Either way, she was still sensitive to it.
"You're welcome." She noticed the hint of amusement, but decided to ignore it. There was no point in getting angry and demanding to know why he found this humorous - Victoire started a lot of fights, but they weren't pointless fights like that. "Hmm, well, as long as they don't do it in here. It's loud enough as it is without more people screaming." It was difficult to tell if she was aware he was joking until she flashed an amused smile, but when she did, it became more clear. Usually, though, it would be impossible to figure out without just asking. Victoire was very difficult to read at times. "You know, I wonder if there's a valid reason for none of the staff fixing the temperature in here, or if they just like watching us suffer."
─────✧─────
- Nikolai
As weird as it seems, Nikolai was relieved to make eye contact with the girl, and nodded back as a response. Normally, he would just awkwardly look away and try not to look in their direction again, but since he knew her, it was fine. Actually, he stood up, going to sit by her at the Ravenclaw table. Was he suppose to do that? No. Students were suppose to stay at the table their house had been assigned. But he was so quiet, no one even spared him a glance. No one at the Ravenclaw table even noticed him sitting, actually, and he spoke quietly enough to keep it that way. "Hey." He was also relieved to have someone to speak to. Sitting in a corner by himself while the rest of his house screamed to each other wasn't exactly fun.

[ Sorry these are pretty long x'c i can make them shorter if you want ] { Kailey Peters } { 16//6th } { Female } Kailey is an average girl, with no features that obviously stand out. All except for a scar running down the length of her left arm, but most of the time she keeps it covered up leaving only a slim mark on her wrist. Her eyes are a bright green and often have a mischievous glint in them. She has a round face shape, with a pale complexion and freckles splashed across her nose and cheeks. Her hair is well kept for the most part, she rarely ever styles it, but it naturally hangs in loose, frizzy in the summer, dark brown waves. Her hair is cut unevenly, but still frames her face nicely.
Kailey is a falsely confident person, she shows herself as someone with a strong sense of self-worth and walks with her head held high. In reality she struggles with her self confidence and often shoots herself down. Despite this she is a brave and courageous individual, she do anything in her power to keep her friends and family safe, especially when it comes to Wyeth. She's an intelligent girl and worries endlessly about her grades. She stresses easily over her own future, but usually is able to keep a calm exterior. Kailey loves to banter with others, and when she was younger she was obsessed with doing elaborate pranks. She's calmed down some, but has found something new to obsess over, magical creatures and ancient magic. { Wyeth Malt, step-brother } { open } { Gryffindor } lordclover
{ Wyeth Malt } { 12 // 2nd } { male }
Wyeth is a very timid boy, this is a fact that you could tell by just looking at him. He's not quite short, but because of his poor posture he seems shorter than he really is. He often ducks his head in embarrassment and will avoid eye contact, making seem rather small. He has dark brown curly hair that is average length and falls across his forehead that often looks unkempt, despite his best attempts. His eyes are a warm amber that constantly jump around the room, as if he is always looking for an escape route. He has a heart shaped face, and always has a warm yet hesitant smile. His skin is a soft russet color, and always has a tinge of a rosy pink, as if he constantly runs a mile. He is covered in freckles, most are situated on his nose, and he blames his father for this, since he never reminded him as a child to put on sunscreen. Wyeth is very friendly, but rarely approaches anyone. He fidgets a lot and constantly moves his hands, often fiddles with a puzzle he got from his father. Wyeth is a very cautious person, and rarely does anything without an intricate plan. He worries about the smallest things, such as if he shows up late for lunch, they might be out of his favorite chip, and that would ruin his day. Despite this, he is very good on the spot. He can cast the hardest spell as long as he has to do it a moment's notice, but the second a teacher asks him to do it, he can't. He is very cunning and can often get out of sticky situations because of this. He blames this on his father, who would lie to get them out of bad situations. Wyeth however, would never lie, what if he gets caught? { Kailey, step-sister} { crush/significant other } { Slytherin }

✒[ Kailey Peters | 16 | Gryffindor ] Kailey had spent the better part of her morning skirting around the forbidden forest, her gaze prying to see anything past the large trees. Often times Kailey wouldn't restrain herself and would walk a ways into it, but now she couldn't risk it. She was a year away from her final year in hogwarts, and besides that hogwarts was one of the only good things she had going for her. She couldn't exactly give it up so easily. She hadn't found much out from the edges, but she had found a particularly interesting feather. She made her way back towards the Great Hall after half an hour, giving up on her quest. The temptation was too great, she had to leave it behind. With a small groan she headed towards her respective table, her gaze flickering to the Slytherin table for a moment, hopping over each head until she saw the familiar mop of curls. She smiled, reassured by the fact that Wyeth at least was doing good. She sat down towards the edge of the Gryffindor table, not willing to engage in anything more than a skin deep conversation. She was sure she would find more than she bargained for if she sought out anyone in particular. "Good morning," Kailey said to Nikolai, a boy in her year. They'd never really talked much, but Kailey liked to know everyone that she could in her year, just in case they were paired on a project or even better, if they could be friends.
[ Wyeth Malt | 12 | Slytherin ]Wyeth had a slow morning, which he was very, very thankful for. He woke up exactly on time (7:00) and reached the Great Hall exactly at 7:30, as he did most mornings. He hadn't eaten much, only nibbled at his standard bowl of cereal. He had spent part of his morning reading up for charms, nervous there would be another day of practicing the same spell. Wyeth didn't quite understand the spell they were working on-- well, that wasn't completely true. He understood it, but he just couldn't convince himself to do it. The charm was supposed to create paper birds, which he did, but he couldn't quite follow through with the spell to the point where they could actually fly. His birds simply sat on his paper, glaring up at him. Wyeth sighed and flipped to the next page of his book, uncomfortably aware of how cold it was. He didn't get it and he certainly didn't like that it was cold. No one had even explained to them why it was cold. He thought it was the duty of the professors to keep them informed, but that seemed far from their minds as they merrily chatted at the head of the room. Template made by Gengar ♀

"Morning," She said with a grin, happy her friend decided to sit next to her, Gryffindor or not. She scooted to the edge, giving him some room to sit down. The girl felt more cheerful, now that she had at least a friendly face. She grabbed a muffin, and offered the boy half, before asking, "D'you think that we are going to figure out whats going on?" She asked, eyes glittering with curiosity. All of the professors where acting strange, and it was absolutely freezing, another thing uncommon in this school.

Oh....another person was trying to talk to him. A pretty girl, at that. Well. That was new. He froze for a second, blinking at her slowly, only to realize he had no idea what her name was. Only that she was in his house and year, and even that he wasn't sure about. Still, he decided to try and be polite, and tried to force a smile. "Hello." He was stuck between the two tables now, trying to speak to both girls at once, which wasn't hard, just....weird. One person talking to him was shocking enough. After all, he wasn't exactly an approachable person. Certainly not a friendly face, like what Ari seemed to what. "And I don't know." He glanced over at his Ravenclaw friend again. "Hopefully. I don't like this. It's too cold." At least he had worn a jacket and scarf. He could see some person weren't as lucky. "Anyways, um....Kailey?" He was hoping that was her name. "Do you need something? No offense, people just don't typically speak to me unless they want something."

Ari stifled a snicker, knowing her friend wasn't the nicest Gryffindor at the school, before offering the other girl a smile. She had seen her around before, and the girl seemed nice enough. She still had Nikolais part of the muffin in her hand, trying to give it to him, trying her best not to shiver and considering casting a spell that could keep them warm. Maybe she could set some of the food on fire. Yeah, that could work. She wondered what his fellow Gryffindor wanted, usually the people in his house ignored him, considering he was a little less than friendly to those he met. She simply liked his standoffishness, didn't mind the fact that he was quite unapproachable, he was quiet for the most part and she preferred her friends being that way. Perhaps thats why she considered him a friendly face.

Kailey realized too late that Nikolai was sitting with his friend, who Kailey didn't immediately recognize. Noticing that Ari was trying to give something to him, Nikolai flushed red, taking it quickly. "Thank you." He took a small, wary bite of it, as if it might be poisoned, before speaking again. "Why do you ask? Are you cold? You can have my jacket if you want." He don't like the cold, but he tended to worry too much over the few people he was attached to. It was weird he was offering his jacket, though. He rarely even took it off, much less offered it to other people. "You're fine. It doesn't bother me." It really didn't, he was just surprised. She seemed nice (and Nikolai may be slightly bias since he found her pretty, being a guy and all) and he doubted Ari minded either. He hoped not, at least. "What about you? Are you cold?" { Tephra Whitespring } { 15//Fifth Year } { Female } A shorter, black-skinned girl with hair that goes down to her lower back, and is done in dreads. She'll either have it tied back, or loose like a mane over her shoulders and back. Her left eye is a stunning light green, with amber flecks. The right side of her face is horribly scarred though, no eye, and covered with a dark gold cloth that's tied around her head. Tephra also has a gold, door knocker nose ring, with a small ball in the middle. She also has three door knocker earrings on her right ear lobe like her nose ring. ~ Tephra is very open, rather friendly with everyone. She's actually quite smart, and does well in her classes, but she's just got more Hufflepuff in her than anything. The only two things that can cause her to become shy, or even angry, are when people question her about her scarred face, or the potion flask she always carries around. The flask? It holds Wolfsbane Potion in it. How she gets it without anyone knowing is a mystery. And yeah, Tephra is a werewolf. Nobody knows, and she would deny it even if you called her out on it. Overall though, she's loyal and protective, and is always willing to make a friend. {n/a } { n/a } { Hufflepuff } Smokey Feather
