Hawkwing's Journey Sample *spoilers*

As I'm reading the sample for Hawkwing's Journey, I will be posting information here in case anybody wants to see spoilers. If I make a mistake or if you found something I haven't added, please let me know. (: Enjoy.

Prologue:
- Skystar, Cloudstar, and Brackenheart are discussing Skyclan's fate at the Gorge.
-Skystar mentions the five petals of the Blazing Star. He tells Cloudstar and Brackenheart that Skyclan should move with the other clans at the Lake.
- The word "sparks" is used a lot... Possibly foreshadowing that Sparkpelt has something to do with Skyclan coming to the Lake. Maybe they're searching for Clan cats and find her out hunting because of her physical similarities to Firestar? Just my guess.
- They decide to warn Skyclan about some sort of fight or struggle by giving Echosong a prophecy.
Information:
- Sharpclaw and Cherrytail are the parents of Hawkpaw, Cloudpaw, Duskpaw, and Blossompaw.
- Sparrowtail and Tinycloud are the parents of Pebblepaw and Parsleypaw.
- Ebonyclaw mentors Hawkpaw, Plumwillow mentors Cloudpaw, Waspwhisker mentors Duskpaw, Billystorm mentors Pebblepaw, Bouncefire mentors Blossompaw, Rabbitleap mentors Parsleypaw, Tinycloud mentors Bellapaw, Nettlesplash mentors Rileypaw.
- Duskpaw, Pebblepaw, and Cloudpaw get trapped in a fire. Ebonyclaw and Hawkpaw manage to rescue all of them, but Duskpaw inhales too much smoke and dies soon after.
- Hawkpaw, Cloudpaw, and Blossompaw become Hawkwing, Cloudmist, and Blossomheart.
- Echosong speaks to the all of Skyclan about the prophecy she received from Starclan... "The fire has burned out, but to dispel the darkness you must find the spark that remains."
- Hawkwing seems to have anger issues as he snaps often. He blames himself often for Duskpaw's death.
- When checking out the place where Duskpaw died, Hawkwing meats Darktail who seems to be friendly and is in need of herbs since he breathed in too much smoke from the fire. Back in camp he says how he's heard of clans living in a forest.
- Leafstar sends Hawkwing, Billystorm, Blossomheart, Waspwhisker, and Pebblepaw on a quest to find the Clans at the lake, but Darktail gives them false directions and leads them right into a badger's nest where the cats are attacked. Billystorm dies and Pebblepaw is sick with grief similarly to how Hawkwing was when Duskpaw died.
- The cats travel back to Skyclan where Leafstar tells the group that a mysterious group of animals attacked resulting in Honeytail dying, and Harveymoon and Echosong being injured.
- They then tell Leafstar that her mate, Billystorm, died battling the badgers. She is very sad with grief and decides to call a clan meeting deciding the future of Skyclan and what could be their last hope.
Review:
- I really loved the sample of Hawkwing's Journey! I am most definitely going to buy the book on release, and I'm excited to see how the rest of the book plays out. Not only is the book well written, but it's super suspenseful and sad which makes me even more excited for this book to release! 10/10!

I just read the part about Hawkpaw and the other apprentice's parents and Duskpaw's death. This book is already so sad though... I hope Skyclan finally finds peace. Poor Clan.
