Hawkwing's Journey Sample *spoilers*

I like Shrewtooth, though. I don't know why. Maybe his name.

I just read and I'm really intrigued.

Cool that we got to see Skystar, Cloudstar, and Brackenheart again. And once again the likely possibility of SkyClan being with the other Clans again is referenced.

So it looks like Ravenpaw's Farewell and by extent Hawkwing's Journey really do take place during OotS, or at least sometime after it if at least Firestar's death is referenced in the prologue and it's speculated on in the main story. At least that's what it seems to be hinting at, anyway.

I was right on who Sharpclaw and Cherrytail's kits were. Also, I love the name Cloudmist! It's now my favorite name in the series. But assuming HJ does take place after OotS, then I wonder what happened to Sharpclaw and Cherrytail's other kits since she was pregnant in SkyClan and the Stranger, which took place before Power of Three.

And come to think of it, where are Shrewtooth, Petalnose, Rockshade, Egg, and Creekfeather? Especially Egg, seeing as how he only appeared in SkyClan's Destiny and was Sharpclaw's apprentice. Great to see Sagenose again though, and to finally know his warrior name too.

It's great to see that Birdwing and Mintfur are queens and that the former has kits of her own. But who came up with the names of the kits? Curlykit I can get and we already have a Fuzzypelt and a Tangleburr, so why not, but why Fidgetkit and Snipkit?

And I love how Honeytail is following in her mother's pawsteps. I wonder if she ever had any kits of her own. It certainly isn't referenced in the sample, that's for sure.

And speaking of Honeytail, may she, Billystorm, and Duskpaw rest in peace. Wish we got to see more of Duskpaw before he died though, but I like how the story is getting to the point.

As for the strange animals, from the way they were described... raccoons, maybe? I don't know...

Interesting how just like his sister and Sharpclaw, Sparrowpelt and Tinycloud too had a mentor-apprentice relationship before becoming mates. I wonder if this was planned. And we haven't seen much of Parsleypaw yet, but I am really interested in Pebblepaw.

Also, I'm calling it right now, Hawkwing becomes mates with either Pebblepaw or Betsey, assuming she'll appear in the story again. I wouldn't be surprised if it were Pebblepaw. As for Betsey, I like her even if she appeared very little so far.

As for Darktail, I wasn't expecting him to show up so soon in the story but again, I'm glad it's getting to the point. And he very likely did give the cats wrong directions on purpose, but the question is why. Why did he even bother driving SkyClan out of their territory at all? Guess we'll find out when the book comes out.

As for Hawkwing himself, he seems like an interesting character so far and I feel really bad for him. I do wonder how often his grief for Duskpaw is going to be brought up, though. Don't get me wrong, his grief is perfectly understandable and even more so when he's so young and blaming both himself and Pebblepaw, but I have noticed that it seems to be referenced constantly compared to BP and CP and even TR for instance.

I was right about Stormheart's warrior name, and I really like the name Harrybrook.

I didn't think Patchfoot, Clovertail, and Fallowfern would be elders by now though, but I'm not surprised, either. Sad that Fallowfern lost her hearing, though.

All in all, this book seems interesting so far. I'll be sure to read when as soon as it comes out.

Also, quite a few cats are missing from the allegiances. I liked Shrewtooth. I'll miss him a whole lot. AND WE FINALLY KNOW SAGEPAW'S WARRIOR NAME! IT'S SAGENOSE!

I wonder of Petalnose was Sandynose's mentor. He could have been named after her. And poor Duskpaw. I kinda liked him. I wish he didn't die. Cloudmist is such a pretty name!

So the daylight warriors are staying inside their twoleg dens for now? Execpt Frecklewish that is. I'm still wondering why Mistfeather (whom I still believe to be Creekfeather) stated that half of SkyClan was daylight warriors. No it isn't.

I'll also miss Billystorm. He was a great character. :c And poor Leafstar.

Where is this anyways? I can't find it on mobile

Reading the allegiances again, I noticed that Frecklewish isn't listed as a daylight cat. And after the attack when the daylight warriors went home, Frecklewish stayed. So is she now a permanent SkyClan cat?

I think Leafstar will live, Sharpclaw seems like the guy that will die according to past trends. Again, it has been a long time since SkyClan's destiny or the mangas, I am expecting a lot of cats to have died.

I think Birdwing is Mistfeather's mate. Also I'm hoping for MintXHarvey, as it wouldn't be the first time Vicky contradicted herself.

Maybe Honeytail didn't have a mate and was simply just an all time queen.

Aw poor Honeytail and Rockshade.
Plus, I love Stormheart's name!
