Madisen headed over to the door when he did, not wanting to seen anxious to leave. If it was still bright outside she would have stayed longer to talk but it was not bright outside, and that was what cut her time short. Maybe she could check the work schedule and see if she has the day off tomorrow, if Aspen didn't mind Madisen could come over then. But she would not suggest that, she wasn't sure how well that would go over with Aspen. Madisen smiled when he asked if she was warm enough and tucked some of her hair behind her ear, "Yes, I think I'll be okay." Madisen appreciated how he asked if she would be okay, it was very gentleman like. Even for someone who lived in the woods. The thought amused her though, she wondered where he learned good manners from. If she was not so reserved, she would not have minded him staring at her, but that was Madisen's problem. Not so much Aspen's. "It's during the winter that will be the worst for me. I was not mixed with the DNA of one of those mountain dwelling tigers."

[[ Sorry for my absence-- literally just got back from the homecoming dance half an hour ago, ehehe~ ]]
The bell on the door to the Bay Crest cafe chimed as a new patron stepped in. He was of a fair height, about 5'10" from a glance, and wore a long, black trench coat with jeans and black boots. He was pale, with dark brown eyes and feathery black hair in a messy kind of fringe. When he shut the door he seemed for a brief moment to pause and survey the area around him before continuing to the counter. A dark haired girl caught his eye and held his gaze a few seconds- not for any outward trait, but just a gut feeling that she might be different. Rather than stand and stare all day, though, he went on towards the first barista he saw, who was wearing one of those stiff retail worker smiles.
He nodded towards the barista before he requested the regular: "May I have a hot coco and a blueberry muffin? No cream on the coco, double the marshmallows." He'd already taken out a wallet before the total was calculated, and simply handed the girl a ten and told her to keep the change. Of course, the wallet wasn't his own, so whatever happened to the money wasn't of too much concern to him. Once the quick meal was ordered, he approached the booth where the girl sat, sliding to seat himself at the booth to the left of her. He rapped his nails on the table- they were a bit long for a boy, and were solid black in a natural way.

(I'm squealing that's cute!!) She let out a laugh, his story making sense. She smiled, liking the nickname Ari. "Sure, Drew" she said with a laugh in her voice. Her tail swished acrossed the grass, accidentally smacking the boy. "Oh, sorry!" "It's fine, Ari." He gave her another goofy smile before pulling his arms toward the sky in a stretch. "So, what do you like to do? There's gotta be something you find interesting in your last two weeks of freedom." He asked, not wanting their little conversation to come to an end.

"Hmm...." Andrew thought for a moment. "Running." He replied. It was something he wasn't able to do prior to his escape. He remembered the little rooms they'd put them in, no windows, the doors always locked, the color they'd use to keep track of him, he assumed they did it to all the hybrids. He remembered that the rooms were only a few feet wide and about six feet long, just enough room to lay down and sleep, but not enough room to run. He loved the feeling of the wind whisking past him as he ran through the forest, his feet barely skimming the surface. Andrew gave her a side glance and asked, "What about flying? Surely you've done that since you've left?"

"Why don't you try right now? It's not like there are any people around." Andrew suggested. He was slightly surprised that she hadn't taken flight yet and it almost made him worry that she wouldn't be able to catch altitude and fly. "You are really light," he muttered, accidentally thinking out loud. He remembered carrying her so easily before and now he was wondering if it was because she had avian DNA inside her.

(alright. :3)
a 15 year boy walked into the café wearing a brown trench coat that was buttoned up and a matching hat, along with sunglasses. he wore these things to hide his fox tail, ears and his unnatural yellow eyes that had slit pupils; of course he had sharper canine's and his nails were sharper then normal people. "just some hot tea, please." Kasai said to the cashier, handing her a 5 dollar bill when he saw the total and getting 50 cents back.

AXSNH-404 perked up as he heard the doorbell chime again. He turned his attention to this newcomer, both inwardly approving of the younger stranger's outfit and scrutinizing him at the same time. Though it was the weather for a trench coat and hat, AXSNH thought the sunglasses were a bit much; the hat would've done enough to keep sun out of the eyes, if that was the reason the glasses were worn. He debated between getting up to further analyze this odd boy, or to stay back at his booth and get a better look at the girl to his right.
Ultimately AXSNH-404 chose to get back up, feigning the act as checking to see if his order was finished. He strode calmly up beside the boy, and glanced at the younger male's face from the side. He was checking this kid's eyes- AXSNH was lucky enough that his were normal, but he knew most other hybrids had weird ones.

A young woman, who looked about the age of 19 walked into a store. She was accompanied by a little boy, who seemed around the age of seven or eight. Both the little boy and the woman had light brown skin with freckles only on their cheeks. The woman Had lighting-dark brown hair which was braided in small individual braids that were then pulled together into a thick pony tail. The girl had bright hazel eyes that seemed more green than brown. She wore an all black shirt underneath a black rain jacket, rain jacket, light pair of ripped skinny jeans and boots. The little boy wore a deep blue rain jacket, and bright yellow rain boots. Underneath that he wore a red short sleeved shirt with a grey long sleeved shirt underneath, and some jeans. The one thing that stuck out about this littleboy was his ice blue eyes, it was the first thing you would see as you looked at him. The woman put her hood on and walked a bit faster as she entered the store, the little boy having to almost run to match her pace, but the woman seemed to focused on the task at hand to notice.

Kasai glanced at the person who came to stand beside him and ignored the fact their eyes had meet for a split second, before he went to a booth that was open to wait for his tea, seeing that the people working here had some other orders to finish. he was never one to like being near or speaking to others much, whether in the institute or not he didn't speak unless he had too.

The woman was reaching for a box of Cherios, the boys favorite when the boy hands began to glo a bright blue, first faint, but then it grew brighter. The boy moved his hand forward to show the woman, but some strange force made her almost fly up before being thrown to the ground. The boy then turned his hands towards the food, he jumped as the foods was pushed back or moved on it own as he moved his hand. The boy began to cry, confused and scared. The woman looked shocked for a moment before quickly glancing around at the people staring. The woman burst into action, scooping up the boy and almost sprinting out of the store. Stuff flew around as the poor little boy's shakey hands flailed around. The woman didn't think to look behind her, pr take the time to leave what she had but into her shopping basket down. She just kept running, the crying boy in her arms.

AXSNH smirked when he saw this boy's eyes, he made note of the fact they were unusually yellow and had slit pupils. Obviously this meant the kid wasn't fully human; however, AXSNH couldn't tell if this kid was snake, fox, or cat. Regardless that uncertainty, the thought that he wasn't alone as a hybrid brought on a kind of confidence, and AXSNH followed the younger male to his booth. AXSNH sat across from the hybrid kid, tapping a dark nail on the table once before starting up conversation on a casual subject. He began somewhat hushed, "Nice coat you have there, where'd you get it?"

Kasai eyed him warily for a few moments, before answering. "someone gave it to me..." Kasai says which was actually the truth, the old man who once lived in the forest had given him the coat, hat and sunglasses to him a few days, before he had died of old age and Kasai subconsciously clenched his fist, since thinking about it normally lead to thinking about what had before he meet the old man.

AXSNH-404 noted the boy's tense expression, and chose not to pry much harder. He was still curious about the nature of the boy, though, regarding his DNA. He glanced around to be sure no other patrons were spying in on the two, then leaned in slightly. "Hey," he near-whispered, "I can tell you're not quite fully human. You should push up the glasses higher on your nose, or else other people will catch on with the eyes, too." He kept the tone casual, and his expression was far from grave; to an outsider it would seem more like AXSNH was sharing secrets or gossip rather than giving the younger hybrid a survival tip.

Kasai's tail fur bristled slightly hearing him say he could tell he wasn't fully human and stared at him for a moment, but didn't let his surprise show much. "what do you want?" Kasai asks cautiously, knowing some hybrids worked for the institute and he'd rather give out to much information if he was just someone who found out about them.

Kasai asks cautiously, knowing some hybrids worked for the institute and he'd rather give out to much information if he was just someone who found out about them. "Company is all," AXSNH-404 replied calmly. "If you're worried about spies, I can't blame you. I managed to shake one off a few months ago, but they were on my tail for a couple weeks. If you're worried about the eyes, contacts are your best bet, either that or sunglasses with thicker frames on the side." The amphibian-fish hybrid was true with that remark on being chased after- he himself was one of the trained spies, but he'd gone renegade just a month after being set to work. It was natural the institute would want to recapture an asset such as AXSNH, even if it meant dragging him back teeth gnashing. He thought about the tense encounter a moment, then tapped a nail anxiously on the table. "Do you think they're done with the order yet?" he leaned back and looked towards the counter as he asked.

"i think i know where i could find another pair of sunglasses..." Kasai said remembering seeing some with thicker frames at a store near by for a cheap price, then added. "not sure...also, is there a reason you smell like dead fish?" one of perks of being a fox hybrid was his good sense of smell, but sometimes it wasn't so good when the alleyways started to stink after rain or like now, the smell of fish wasn't his favorite. he was somewhat more relaxed knowing he was a escapee as well, but not by much.

AXSNH scoffed a moment. "It's be a good idea to pick some up then, that way your eyes are blocked from a side view. Also, giant snakehead and axolotl," he responded simply, hiding his irritation at the dead fish remark. In water, he had the best sense of smell, but in air it was as typical as any human. His nails couldn't grow to claws, but he was surprisingly fast and strong like a thrashing fish when he felt the need to fight. His only real land perk was injury regeneration from his axolotl side, but it wasn't instant, unfortunately. But regardless of his differences with the non-aquatic hybrids, it was reassuring to be in the company of some form of non-human person.

"But what if someone sees me?? I don't know how to get off the ground," she responded worriedly. Honestly, even though Andrew said she was light, and she remembered the scientists mentioning her light bone structure, she was still worried she was to heavy to fly, or that she wouldn't be able to breathe because of her fox DNA. "Don't worry Ari, I'll be right here if anything goes wrong. You should probably get a running start like planes or something. ... Since it's your first time and all." Andrew comforted her.

Ari thinned her lips, before nodding, feeling more comfortable about the fact that it was night. Maybe if anyone saw her, they'd think she was just a big nocturnal bird. She nodded, noting that they where in a clearing. She got up, brushing off the dust off of her black wool jacket, and took a deep breath, stretching out her speckled wings, and running forwards, swallowing her surprise as she felt the wind catch her wings. She lept forwards, pushing down as hard as she could, then pushing upwards, surprised that it was actually working. She grinned, wanting to let out a cry of victory, before she smacked her head on a branch and came tumbling down, landing on the ground with a loud thud.
