Alice looked down at their hands and then back to Kaz. She wondered how many other women he has flirted with. Kaz seems to know what he is doing, Alice would be shocked if she is the first person he was genuinely complimenting. "Yes, I suppose so. But don't expect me to stop saying thank you. Because I can't say it enough." Alice smiled up at him, her eyes somewhat brighter than before. Kaz was so approachable and no matter how much you wanted to hide, you could not. The look he gave you made you want to say anything. He did not force you to. "Would it be crazy to say that you are the first guy I've talked to in a long time that was around my age?" The only men she has spoken with are usually Koba and a few of his other friends, because they took over his training of students every once in a while. She hated Koba's friends as much as she hated Koba. They were the same, even though they looked very different. Alice remembered their faces like she saw them this morning. Because she did. The images of their faces were something she would never forget. One of them, Joseph, was the one she would remember the most. He was the leader of them next to Koba if you will. He had blonde hair, we'll built and taller than Kaz. His blue eyes were filled with the desire for bloodshed, despite the beautiful color they held. His laugh, Joseph's cruel laugh was the worst. Alice blinked a few times, trying to not make it look like she was thinking about something, that she was only focused on Kaz.
(Omg yes Cedric should!)

(YESSSS cedric should i want some brotherly dramaaaaa)
"What kind of man would I be if I let you go back out there in the storm like that? Though that might be the royalty talking." Growing up in a castle had its perks, but gentleman grooming was not one of them. It had gotten to the point where Kaz would have gladly jumped out of the window himself if it meant avoiding another lecture on the do's and don'ts of princedom. He raised an eyebrow at her next admission, surprise coloring his features. "Well, you're not alone there. The girl closest to my age around here is my twin sister, and I've been avoiding my mother's attempts to find me a bride since I was sixteen, so. As you can imagine, I don't get out much." Alice looked to be deep in thought, and Kaz searched her face, reluctant to ask her what she was thinking about lest she became defensive, throwing her walls back up and blocking him out. He couldn't help but wonder what was going on in her mind, though.

Cedric smiled he had just finished talking to Who he thought was the most amazing person. Even if Wisp accidentally poisoned him, he didn't care. In his mind she was smart and interesting and someone he didn't see himself getting bored around. He did find it odd she didn't recognize him as the prince, but it didn't matter. He rubbed his arm where the fire pear juice had been poured on, and where he had first displayed his allergic reaction, it was now bandaged and feeling better but his arm was red and a little swollen. He headed towards Kaz's room. He had been worried about his brother, because he had been a little down lately. He reached the door to his brothers room and opened the door. "Hey Kaz!" He greeted his brother happily. "I just met the most amazing gir-" Cedric stopped speaking once he saw Alice, "Brother, why do you have a lady in your bedroom. It is inappropriate." Cedric felt that this girl had the potential to be a danger, so he clutched his sword. He waited for his brothers response, feeling uncomfortable about the situation

Alice had opened her mouth to say something, her gaze going back to their hands, but when the door to Kaz's room opened she stopped herself. Standing at the door that she did not enter through was a man slightly older than Kaz. He appeared intimidating, but maybe that was just her because she did not like being around males. Her eyes were wide with shock, and fear danced behind it. Alice bit her lip, nervous and anxious to find a way out of the situation. She turned to Kaz, obvious fear in her eyes now. "I...I should leave." But Alice did not know where to. She can't go out the window. Her boots were still in the bathroom and those were her only shoes with traction. Alice was hoping he wold give her some direction of where the go but she felt that Kaz did not know either.

Kaz looked up when his brother came through the door, but his expression was calm. "Cedric," he said with a smile. It was the first time he'd spoken to the first prince in a while, after all. When Alice suggested she leave, he squeezed her hand, turning to look at her. "No. Don't worry, everything's fine." He let go of her hand, getting his legs under him and standing up so he could talk to Cedric properly. They were nearly identical in height, and their resemblance was uncanny. The only vast difference between them were their eyes: while Cedric's were an intense shade of blue, Kaz's were as grey as a storm. "Cedric, this is Alice. She's training to work in the castle, and I asked her to join me lest I rip my hair out from boredom. Don't jump to any conclusions, yeah?"

"It is inappropriate to have a lady in your room. Especially when you are bored. I feel as if I should chaperone the two of you." Cedric said not letting go of his sword. "I can break out the chess board I know you like to try to beat me." Chess was Cedrics favorite game. And the easiest way for him to like you was to play him. It was also the easiest way for him to learn about you. "Alice, My lady would you like to play a game of chess." Cedric eagerly awaited a reaction. He was hoping she would say yes. Chess was his way of testing the water. "Anyways I am not going anywhere. Say Alice, My lady what are they training you to do in the castle?"

Sorry! I was out doing stuff)
Alice stayed where she was as Kaz made up an excuse for her to be where she was. He was a good liar, she must admit that. Which may or may not be the best quality to have, but at times like this, it was something to be greatful for. Alice looked at Cedric. He intimidated her. Just like most men, okay all men, but he reminded her of Koba in a way. Maybe it was his blue eyes. Koba's were the same. And the way he carried himself too. Alice could no longer tell if her fears were rational or not, and got a bit nervous when he asked about chess. "I don't know how to play." Alice told him quietly, and did not meet his gaze. She did not want to look into the eyes that reminded her of Koba. Alice never learned how to play chess though. Everyone at the organization thought of games as a waste of time you could have spent training. Alice did agree that games were just that, games. Something to pass the time with, but she would rather be up doing something. "I'm not allowed to say my training position though." Alice told him. And it was still somewhat true. She was still one of the trainees of the assassins, not one of the higher ranking instructors. On top of that though, she was told not to say anything about her postion. Too late since Kaz found out, but no need for other people to get into her personal buisness.

Kaz felt a flare of possessiveness ignite in his veins, and he took a step forward, partially blocking Alice from Cedric's line of vision. He'd been happy to see his brother a moment before, but now he couldn't stop the irritation that colored his tone. There was only two years between them, but Cedric acted as if it were closer to ten. "I'm not a child, Cedric. I don't need you're permission to bring a woman to my quarters, and I certainly don't need a chaperone." His voice was unusually aggressive, but he'd always been a loose canon, and this would be far from the first time he'd snapped at his brother. As of late, it seemed that they two boys had more disputes than they did civil conversations. Kaz's shoulders were tense with frustration, fists curled loosely at his sides.

It's no big deal, we all have those days. And I did not think of the knife until a little while ago XD)
Alice watched as Kaz seemed to flare up at Cedric. By the way he spoke, it sounded like they do argue often. But, Alice would not know. She has never had siblings before, nor talked back enough to know. She stood up from where she was sitting, almost wanting to hide behind Kaz. She wanted Cedric to leave. Alice did not need a chaperone. She has not kissed a boy, obviously she was not about to do anything more extreme than hold his hand. Alice wanted to undo the fists Kaz's hands made. She wanted him to just feel calm and happy once again. However, she did not have the courage to do that. But there was something that caught the light on the wall, and not until Alice looked did she realize what it was. The knife. The one she threw earlier, and not just the knife, her knife. No matter how many wrongs she had committed with it, Alice felt attached to it. She went over to it, trying not to draw attention to herself and reached up, taking it from it's place in the wall. There was a mark where it once was but it was kind of hard to notice. She held it behind her back. "Um, Cedric. I think we'll be fine." Alice said quietly. Scared she would be hit for speaking to him. Her body showed she was preparing herself to a blow even though none came.

"At least mom and dad don't know. Besides it is inappropriate" Cedric replied and then his eyes saw a knife in the wall. He slowly walked over to it and examined never taking his hand off the sword. "You never told me what you are training to do here. Why is that there." Cedric had been the subject to several assanation attempts and could sense when someone was one. It wasn't like he just looked at someone and knew, it was more like he picked up on single clues, and as soon as he saw the knight he had a strong feeling. He had a strong feeling that his brother might be in danger. Even if she wasn't going to, there would be more to follow. He gave her a suspicious glance.

Kaz strode forward confidently and plucked the knife from Alice's hands, praying to whatever gods would listen that she wouldn't have a negative reaction. Follow my lead, he imagined telling her, though he kept his body language casual and fluid. "She's an apprentice at the stables - and this is my knife," Kaz said easily, meeting his brother's gaze unflinchingly. The stables cover wouldn't last forever but it could hold for now - while Kaz enjoyed visiting the horses, it was a place Cedric rarely had time to go to, factoring in his busy schedule. It was astounding, how different their lives played out due to a couple short years. Had Kaz been born first, their positions could very well have been reversed. "I got it last time I snuck out," Kaz continued. It was sound logic - he'd brought things back from the outside before, so this would be nothing new. "I was practicing my throwing aim when she arrived. Would you like to interrogate me further? I'm all ears, truly." Kaz's voice dripped with sarcasm, and he twirled the knife in his fingers, rolling it over the joints as he spoke. The hand not holding the knife hovered over the small of Alice's back, providing silent support.

Alice followed Kaz without hesitation, she was not sure why, but she did not like being without Kaz in the same room as Cedric. She kept a straight face as Kaz explained their fake reason why she was here. Alice was pleased that the knife did not have her initials engraved in the knife. She knew why, but Alice did not want to think about it. The story sounded pretty believeable, but she was unsure as to how often Cedric visited the stables. If it was often he would know if she worked there or not. Alice looked up at Kaz after he spoke but then turned her head forward again and looked past Cedric when she felt something new her back. Alice stood up straighter than she already was, unsure what was there but went back to normal knowing it was just Kaz. She assumed he put his hand there to steady her a little. And she did appreciate it, like how she appreciated everything he did for her. Alice had given Kaz a look that gave a silent plead of sorts. She hoped he got the message she did not want Cedric here.
