(sorry for disappearing, I was grounded.)( Moonblazer , wanna do rippleshine and stonegaze?) (It's all good! Sure, we can do them!) Stonegaze was grooming his pelt, having been watching the ceremony that had just ended. It was nice to see that Ospreystrike was getting her first apprentice. He had just finished training Mintpaw for the day himself before the ceremony had started, and now he was enjoying some time to relax. He looked around, eyes catching on Rippleshine from afar. looking around, Rippleshine noticed Stonegaze sitting a distance away from him and quickly averted his eyes to the shells on the leaf I guess I can't put it off anymore, he thought to himself and picked up the leaf, heading towards Stonegaze. |

Iriskit pouted, now wanting to catch a cloud for herself. "Well, maybe I'll be able to do it! I'll climb on your back. Will I be able to reach it then?"
"It's a little bug that sometimes attaches itself to your pelt. They're icky little things. One of the apprentice's duties is to help the elders and queens to get rid of any ticks they may have picked up. You're nothing like a tick though Pondkit. I was just teasing." Littleshadow mewed gently, not wanting to hurt her son's feelings.

Owlwhisker tapped his chin with his paw, before he grinned playfully at his daughter. "I bet it feels nice and soft, just like this moss, right?" "I like your pelt." Pondkit seemed to somewhat understand his mother's words, though he was now distracted by how soft her fur was. He kneaded his paws in it, purring. "Ticks can go away, so I can stay instead." He decided stubbornly. |

Smallkit giggled as they searched for the shell. She wondered how long it would take them to find it- and if they would at all. (sorry for short, im responding to a bunch of stuff today and trying do it all before lunch.)

There was no way that Smallkit hid the shell under him after she just did! She stalked over to the tom either way, nosing around him as he gave a small chuckle on his back. He hummed. "It could be here, or it couldn't be. What do you think, Finkit?" Rosekit on the other paw was more interested in searching near the back corners of the den, gently moving old moss and feathers and other nest materials to search for the shell. Smallkit was pretty good at this! |

Smokestream got to her feet as the meeting adjourned. She stretched out each limb in turn and looked to the camp entrance. Part of her wanted to go for a little walk, but was it safe enough?
Slatefur had stepped aside to greet Birchtail as she came back with moss in her mouth for the kits. She waved her tail happily and touched noses with him as a hello.

Silentshade gave a small purr, giving him a small nudge, "Of course, but I'm sure you won't be that far behind me." She said with a grin, glad to hear that he liked her warrior name. "You and your siblings are the next oldest apprentices after all, so I expect you to join me in the Warrior's den soon, alright?" Thawfrost smiled and gave her cheek a loving lick, "Of course. I made sure to grab the best fish on the pile for you too, so eat up, okay?" He mewed, watching her closely. Even though Orchidnight had seemed to be feeling better, he couldn't help but feel worried that she might slip back into the same darkness that had clouded her before. "You must be proud, seeing Silentshade finally become a warrior. I thought you did an amazing job with her, even when you're in the nursery. That isn't something most queens do when they move into the nursery." Thawfrost continued with a purr. "If Earthstar will even let me have my assessment with my siblings." Puddlepaw sighed with a hint of bitterness, before he suddenly shrugged. "Won't matter. I'm easily keeping up all on my own, I work twice as hard even when I don't get taken out of camp. So, I guess a part of it is me being selfish, but I just... need that good feeling." She mewed honestly, quietly. Silentshade gave Puddlepaw a small nudge and an encouraging smile, "Oh, come on. I'm sure you'll be back to training completely soon. And hey, now that I'm a warrior, I bet you'll be able to come out on patrols with me without another warrior to bother us." She mewed, liking the idea of being able to hang out with her friend more. "Earthstar would have to be crazy to not let you take your assessment with your siblings." "I bet Earthstar will be more than happy to give you another apprentice as soon as you leave the Nursery." Thawfrost said as he watched her eat the fish. She had loved training an apprentice, and hoped to do it again one day. For now, she glanced at their kits and gave a light sigh, both fond and a bit worried. "I just hope they don't walk into danger thinking it's bravery. I can't bear to lose any of them..." |

He still remembered the blood on Tessa’s pelt and claws, and the way she had promised they’d never have to see their mother ever again. Owlwhisker didn’t miss his mother. No. She hadn’t ever wanted him anyway. He offered Iriskit a small smile. “Not my mother. I… didn’t really have one of those. But I had a sister, and she loved me like your mother loves you.” He explained. “I’ll always want to sit with you. I promise!” Pondkit squeaked, eyes wide as he thought of never sitting with her again. Who wouldn’t want to sit with her?! |

Iriskit's ears drooped as her father seemed to sadden, "You didn't have a Mama? Did the other queens take care of you and your sister? Where is she now?" Iriskit asked, looking around the den like Tessa would just materialize.
"I'll keep you to that promise Pondkit!" Littleshadow warned, tapping her tail on his shoulder. "Don't you forget those words when you want to be a big independent apprentice."

Iriskit looked at her father with wonder, "Is our camp big? Bigger than the nursery? What's a cloud look like?" Littleshadow began to groom Pondkit as he snuggled closer to her. "If you get any closer to me, I'm going mistake you for a tick! Don't let those apprentices see you." Sproutpaw took a deep breath to steady his nerves, smiling at Diamondheart. "Right. I'll do my best! Special water moves like these are what makes Riverclan such a tough opponent for the other clans. It's silly to me that they don't know how to swim." "Much, much bigger than the nursery. And a cloud looks like..." Owlwhisker hummed, before he seemed to come up with an idea. He pulled over a puffy clump of moss. "It looks like white mossballs, all the way up above your head in the sky. You'll notice them when you first see them. You can't reach them, I tried when I was your age and sadly couldn't catch one." He sighed dramatically. "What's a tick?" Pondkit asked with soft curiousity, blinking up wide eyes at his mother as he rubbed his head against her side. "Well, most of them don't have nearly enough rivers or streams to practice in." Diamondheart admitted, before a humored smirk crossed his face. "That, and most of them would be too scared to try. They've got to steady their spines before they can try and come close to the kind of skills we learn." He waved his tail as he sought out a good stretch of river to practice in today. He needed a slow current, since this would be a move to use in slow moving water. "Don't tell my brother I said that at the next gathering." He chortled. (Here ya go, Willow) |

"I wasn't born here in Riverclan like you were. There was no nursery or kind Queens where I grew up. My sister and I had to learn to take care of ourselves. But you'll never have to know what that feels like, and that's a very, very good thing." He assured, before he purred gently. "My sister's name was Tessa. She was... very strong, and very bold, but she could be a bit mean at times to cats she didn't know. She was scared, but she had to hide it and be strong." He blinked thoughtfully, almost sadly. "She... walks in the stars now, I think. She's not here, anymore." "I won't forget them." Pondkit promised, his voice sweet and promising, before he trained wide eyes on the rest of the nursery. He watched Finkit, Smallkit, and Rosekit playing, and asked. "What're they doing?" |
