@mongrel
Although Brimstone had thick fur, he was damp from disposing of the Beast. He shivered in his sleep, his eyelids flicking open every so often. Of course, he would be punchy if he didn't get enough sleep. Of course, he would exhibit most symptoms, aggravation, punchiness, jumpiness. Of course, Brim could be dangerous when provoked, and it wouldn't do the city any good to have a rampaging Brimstone on the loose.
He glanced over at Lad, wishing he could settle around the dog. He looked so lonely, so uncomfortable on the hard floor. By Seuss Brim, you're getting it all wrong. If you start relying on others. you'll become weak. This is your moment. Get up, leave him. Just go. He's dead weight. He's bossy, and self entitled. He growled, low in his chest. He couldn't stand this ethical thinking in his mind. He had to go, before his guilt rooted his paws to the tile floor.
Heading for the door, he was surprised to see that he was stepping as lightly as his paws could take. Oh thjost, you wuss! Get your fluffy haunches out of the door!
His long haunches sprinted down the hill. Once again, the greyhound's velvety ears flew in the wind. Racing in the rain again, aren't you North? His ears flew wildly, flapping as his speed built. His long claws dug into the loamy soil, bringing his traction to keep him from skidding around. His ears slapped against his neck, reminding him of the tattoos that informed others of his birth month and year, and his order in the liter.
Charging down the slope, he ran along a highway into the city, looking for a bite to eat. Nosing through the trash, a small grey rat scampered out. The chase was on.
Charging after the doomed creature, in about 3 seconds he had accelerated to a happy trot next to the rat. As it tried to zigzag out, his paw shot out, slapping the rat aside, rolling it over. It struggled to its feet once more, but North was already upon it. With the killing bite, he picked it up, looking up to the moon in thanks. Instead, a large shepherd dog was standing over him. Standing up from his crouch, he looked down on this dog. "I've caught this fair and square. Don't think you'll be getting any."
The shepherd dog glared defiantly back at him, growling into his ear, "Hey kid, this is my city, and if you wanna survive a day, you'll learn to respect your superiors. Otherwise, you'll be chewed up, and spit out. In fact, you'll end out worse than that rat you've got there."
The dog finished with a sneer, and North instantly felt a hatred for this dog. "Well then, it's just me and you. Who do you have to back up your big words."
"Really, hot shot? I think their's someone you should meet."
Brimstone turned, leading the strange dog back towards the old building. for some reason, he was glad that he had a reason to return to Lad. He wasn't quite ready to be on his own yet.

Is it ok if i pretend Liberty and Fortissimo are already there?) Pandora grinned a toothy, wolfy grin, and walked away to gt something to eat. She grabbed a small mouthful of bacon and a steak, not wanting to take too much so the others could have some. She found a small corner- considering her size, it actually wasn't that small but it was out of the way and that was all that mattered to her- and laid down to eat.

Lad did not even stir, still sleeping seamlessly. Yet, he seemed to give Brimstone a choice, even though he wasn't awake: The dog could go, or he couldn't.
A subconscious part of Lad, a strange one, willed Brimstone to stay, to acknowledge and appreciate his current vulnerability. Don't be a coward, Pretty Boy. Don't desert me while I'm sleeping. You had better not leave, or I'll have your hide for rags . . .

Becca grinned back at her, taking a steak and a strip of bacon as well, before hopping up onto a table. She set the meat down, tearing into the flesh hungrily. She glanced down at the other dogs. "Who are you dogs, anyways?" She looked to Pandora, Liberty, and Fortissimo. "My name is Becca, by the way."

Parker | Dawn | Human Superstore
Parker nodded. "That seems like a safe place to settle to eat, it does." He wrinkled his muzzle, sniffing the air, picking up the scent of others dog. "But just to be sure, I should go in first." He wrinkled his muzzle. "Y'know, because you don't know who might be in there..."
At first he seemed adamant, scuttling forward to get in front of April. Clearly he had grown fond of her. However, his muzzle was pressed close to his chest to hold the steaks, and he was constantly tripping. At last, he conceded. "Y'know, I may just have to take you up on your offer." Dropping two steaks at her feet, he continued. "I hope those aren't too many," He said. "If you can't hold it all, let me know."
Leading the way towards the building, a quick flick of his tail signaled her to stay. Nose twitching tentatively, he slowly rounded the doorframe, into the building.

Невыносимая коммунизмSato pulled out a portion of the kibble, making sure to ration out the food, so as to make sure some was left. She ate her fill, hungrily eating what she could. Then she sat back on her haunches, looking up to the 3 other dogs.
"Stories! That'd be great!" She tapped a paw to her chin, her eyes narrowing slightly. "I'd need a moment to think up a story... Did any of you had a story in mind?"

Edge tore at the flesh ravenously, his strong jaws tearing flesh from sinew, and breaking through bones. He didn't acknowledge Blitz while he ate, not out of rudeness. It was clear that he was starving. His stomach expanded, from thin, and barely coating his ribs, to heavy, and swollen with warm flesh. He began to look less skinny as his stomach swelled to hold all the meat. His skin stretched over his ribs. When he finished he flopped onto the ground, sighing. "Well, we're a team now. It's what teams do. They help each other." He grinned, clearly fond of the dog he had met. "I have to say, you did pretty great yourself. I can see why you were a gunner dog. You really had some strategy chasing that deer."
Blitz grinned at the praise, her tail wagging in happiness, "Thanks. My Safeguard and mentor taught me well, you know? I perfected my strategy for years as well." She put the side of her face back on the ground, but kept her eyes on the pit bull who looked much less threatening now that he had a belly full of meat. In fact, he seemed much friendlier. She gazed at her new teammate, happy to have someone to hunt and do stuff with. She sighed and rolled over unto her back, wriggling back and forth to scratch an itch. A clap of thunder startled her and she flipped back unto her slightly swollen stomach. She cocked her head in the direction of the sound, "Was that thunder?" She sniffed the air and noticed that there was a strong scent of rain. Ears going back, she glanced at Edge, "Sounds and smells nasty. I hate to leave the deer, but I think we need to take cover. What do you think?" Edge nodded. "I had a Human once. We constantly were going out, and I was constantly defending him from the other people around him." He took on a more serious countenance. "There are a lot of bad humans out there, y'know? They were constantly coming after him with their blades." He shook his head. "Y'see, they must've had something against him, because it was always so difficult. One moment I'd sink my teeth into one Human, but then my master would command me upon another. It was always fun though, and he treated me well too. He really was a good human."

((Thanks!))
Harper, her stomach rumbling and dripping wet, desperately seeked shelter. She was too far from her den to return there, so she thought of the next best place with accessible food. Her hunter's nose took her to the Chinese Buffet, but she slowed down when she scented other dogs. Her auburn hackles raised slightly, aware of the dangers presented. She finally took a step inside, her wet paws leaving a trail on the tile floor. The scent of mice flooded her scent glands immediately, and her mouth began to water.

(I don't mind ) Amber grabbed some bacon and a steak and began to eat hungrily. Bacon was her favorite. Her Safeguard always fed her meat, never food pellets. He knew she like meat, and that it was better for her system. She tore flesh strip after flesh strip, swallowing quickly. She hoped she didn't look like a greedy-belly, she had just not eaten in days. Normally, she would of given up her food to dogs in need in the blink of an eye. She widened her eyes in surprise as two more dogs entered the room. Where where they coming from? She'd have to show them where to get some food, or get more herself. Amber sighed as she finished eating, placing her head on her paws. The molly tried to blink the sleep from her eyes. She couldn't sleep in front of a bunch of strange dogs, that would most definitely be an idiotic thing to do, especially now after the people were dead and gone or savage, sickly beasts.

So when Brimstone returned with a dog that looked similar to him, he was as casual as always.
“Wad, indeed,” said Lad, unimpressed. He turned to the skinny, gray dog, the dog he didn't know was called North.
“What's your name?” he interrogated, biting back a Pretty Boy. Though he longed to provoke this twig of a dog, he knew it might turn out an unwise move.

Rhapsody was entering the Chinese restaurant, and she scented the mice, and... another dog... No matter! Of course other dogs have been here, because there are mice here! But, who would be out in this weather, and this place isn't much of a place to stay the night. Quickly, Rhapsody scrambled under a counter, driving several mice out. Making chase, she skidded after one mouse, singling it out from the rest of the bundle of fur. She slowly gained on it, her short strides huge compared to the mice's biggest ones. In a split second, she bunched her haunches, flying forward onto the mouse, gathering it in her jowls, and breaking its spine. Thank you. She picked up the mouse, getting ready to leave. That's when she fell backwards, staring into the face of a much larger dog. "Wahh!" She squeaked, flinging the mouse at the stranger. "Take it!"

Harper was taken aback by the stranger, Rhapsody, and much more surprised by the mouse that was flung at her. It hit her square in the chest and dropped to the floor. "Thank you, I think?" she woofed softly, slightly confused still. Her fluffy tail was wet, but still curled over her right hip, began to wag. "I haven't seen you before. Who are you?" she asked, leaning down to take a bite out of the mouse. Half of it was gone in the singular bite, but she was a medium sized dog and it was to happen anyway.

Harper let out a little growl, hunching protectively over her mouse. She quickly softened, apologizing. "I'm sorry. I'm just hungry." She said, then gulped down the last bite of mouse rapidly. "I'm Harper... Who're you?" The auburn dog leaned out to sniff Woodrow as well, then pulled away. "Would you like help catching mice?" She asked, looking over to the corner of the room where a few mice were congregating.

Liberty laid in the corner slowly chewing a slice of bacon. It took a while due to the small size of her mouth. She didn't talk to anyone but her eyes flashed around curiously.
Fortissimo talked loudly with a small group of other dogs. The big dog was telling a story from 'the old days' when his job was to look after his Peoples' pup.

Lad watched, his lips curling into a frightening cross between a snarl and a scowl. He advanced on Parker almost with relish, as though savoring the opportunity for a fight, or at least a verbal showdown.
“Come on,” he challenged. “Come on, imbecile—imbecile, indeed, because how could one be so stupid as to enter an occupied building, notwithstanding the obvious scents?”
He whipped his head toward North. “YOU!” he roared. “Get on the sseused floor, and stay there, dammit. I don't want to hear a single peep from your insubordinate mouth, you hear?”
It was simply fascinating how one so twiggy could speak look so frightfully, one of Lad's many habitual grotesqueries—among other, much more terrifying things: Forcing dogs to kill themselves or rip off their own limbs, teaching pups to savage anything that moved, pitting cats against one another in enclosed spaces . . .
It was also amazing how Lad refrained from addressing Brimstone—unintentionally, but nonetheless. It was almost as though he were beginning to think of Brimstone as more than a mere brute.

She dropped the steaks where she was standing and turned tail towards flee (it was more of waddle then a run and she could only imagine how stupid she looked). When she heard the growl from the three dogs, the expecting mother was already out of sight and out of mind. Darting behind a pile of rubish, she stayed within ear shot.
One of the dogs -she already didn't like him just based off of the tone of his voice- barked orders at he other two. A sudden anger stirred in her belly and the Linder she listened to this dog describe how they had been trespassing, the more heated she became. A low, throaty growl tumbled out of her jaws, "Who does this piece of garbage think he is?! Telling us what we can and can't do. Thjost!" She find a little dance of indescion before stomping out from her hiding spot and heading straight towards the dogs that were causing her so much anger. Ears pointed, lips curled, and hackles raised, she came up upon Lad with all the grace of a lumbering elephant and the fury of a tornado, "Just who do you think you are? I want to know who died and left you Alpha. We have just as much right to this building as you do."

We have just as much right to this building as you do." “That's where you're wrong, rotbrained slag,” hissed Lad. “Go away, or you'll regret ever coming here.” Though he wasn't ashamed of it, it certainly felt wrong to insult a pregnant dog, much less hurt her, so he knew he would bring April no harm. Still, it did not please him that these two lummoxes—three, actually, he thought, glaring at North—had thought they had the right to enter the building. What had they expected—acceptance? Cooperation? Pffft.

Невыносимая коммунизм Sato pulled out a portion of the kibble, making sure to ration out the food, so as to make sure some was left.

Rhapsody was cowering, and flinched when Harper growled. As soon as she softened, however, she seemed to relax. Rhapsody was always quite wary of other dogs, knowing she never was much of a hunter, or a fighter. Her short legs, smushed face, all of it led up to her inabilities in some sort of way. "O-oh... I'm Rhapsody." She stretched out her neck to sniff Harper, still with some degree of wariness. However, when Harper offered to help her hunt mice, she immediately brightened. "Oh yes please! I'm so hungry, and I'm not a very good hunter. I'll bet you a mouse could defeat me in a fight!"
