"We could try going through the stream at first and if it's impossible to hear it we'll come back." Icefeather suggested.

(just to push this along)
"Alright, let's do that then," Al meowed, nodding to Icefeather. The group entered the woods. Tall oaks and large undergrowth obscured the stream, and the sound of rushing water faded in and out occasionally. Still, it was confusing... one cat would probably have to navigate the entire group.

Fennelnose was antsy as the roar of water faded in and out, and gave a look to Al. He wasn't sure if this kittypet was going to lead the party on, or if a warrior would need to step up and take charge. He swished his tail low and anxiously.

"Well, I'm kinda confused... but I guess you wild cats will know how to get through a place like this," Al mews sheepishly.

Leafheart was feeling more and more nervous as the sound of the water faded in and out. After Al spoke, she nodded in agreement. "We can try." she meowed. Trning to the other warriors, she added "So, where do you think we should head next?"

Icefeather bit her lip. Not only was the confusing sound of the stream making her nervous, but her claustrophobia was kicking in a little. She decided to keep quiet until she collected her senses.

"If you're that nervous, we can take the housefolk path instead," Al meows, looking at Icefeather with concern. To be honest, the forest creeped him out, too.

Sympathy flashed in her eyes as Leafheart looked at Icefeather. As comfortable as she was near the stream and much as she wished they could keep trying to follow it, Leafheart realized that they couldn't keep going like this. Glancing back to Al, she meowed "Yeah, maybe that's a good idea."

Icefeather felt a little embarrassed, but she was relieved when they suggested turning back. "Thanks, you guys."

"No problem," Al purrs, and the group heads back.
The twoleg path is made of hard-packed dirt. It winds up the hill and passes by a wooden twoleg den. A monster sleeps soundly outside. However, in the woods nearby, the group hears strange noises... but what are they? Whatever they are, they're away from the path.

(Should we make a Listen check?)

(Nope. For future reference: if I note a detail and I don't say a check requirement for it, it's not a check 90% of the time)

Seeing the monster nearby made Leafheart's fur prickle. Anything related to twolegs made the RiverClan warrior uncomfortable, though when she noticed the monster seemed to be sleeping she calmed down a little. However, the sound of the strange noises coming from off the path made Leafheart's anxieties skyrocket. Her claws flexed and her tail lashed back and forth as she stared deeper into the woods. "What could be making those noises?" Leafheart meowed softly to the group.

(Sorry for disappearing!)
Flarefur felt more at home under the trees, then following the stream. "it doesn't sound like foxes or badgers..." flarefur noted, hearing the sounds and her tail tip twitched as she added. "should we check it out?"

"Yeah, we probably should. If it turns out to be some other dangerous animal it would be good to know." Icefeather replied, straining her ears to try to figure out what the sounds were too. She wished this were the moor, where enemies couldn't hide so easily.

(My apologies for being off! You two can join in if you want; I can just retcon your characters in.)
As the noise gets louder, the group finds themselves in a clearing. Al begins to step forward, but jumps back with a yowl as a small, odd monster roars past. A twoleg-shaped figure sits on its back. The top of the hill is in sight from here, but the monsters are running and leaping around so fast that there is no way past them but through the grassy clearing. It's possible to get past them with good timing, though.

Leafheart's claws unsheathed at the sight of the twolegs and their monsters. "Now what do we do?" Leafheart meowed.

(You can just have him catch up with the group, with the reason being that he lagged behind a bit, but was there the whole time.)

(mmkai then. the rest of the posts probably won't be this long)
Fernwhisker hears a rumbling noise ahead of him- a deep churning noise that only Twoleg monsters make. He tightens his jaw angrily- why do Twolegs have to let their creatures out in perfectly good fields?- and listens harder. He knows he smelled other Clans cats ahead of him, so maybe he can find them by their voices...?
Yes! Faintly, in a brief pause of monster-noise, he hears some cats talking. He sprints towards the noise, coming up to the rest of the group.
He scowls, whiskers twitching as he recognises his Clanmate, Icefeather. "Couldn't you lot have stopped any time before this?" he grumbled.

"maybe if we time it right...we could get across." Flarefur said, before adding without averting her gaze. "it's like stalking birds, before they fly off and we did stop when we meet Al." she said the second part to fernwhisker.
