“Oh, sorry.” Evaleigh whispered after seeing Dallas’ reaction to her touching his wound and pulled her hand quickly away. Thankfully, she wasn't queasy when it came to seeing blood or gashes like that. Actually, she was rather fascinated with them and had hoped to find her way into the medical field after leaving her parents. “Yeah, like we have worse than wild dogs.” Evaleigh let out a breathy chuckle. What would be worse? “Like werewolves… or demon hounds.” She muttered mostly to herself. What a strange thing to say after being attacked by a dog, this guy had lost too much blood. “I suppose I can take you home if that is where you really want to go. Let me get my car then.” She popped up and jogged across the highway, turning on the ignition before pulling a U in the middle of the road. She pulled up alongside Dallas, put the car in park, then hopped out. Evaleigh had to remove her suitcase from the passenger seat and move it to the back, then motioned for Beau to get in the car. He quickly ran over and jumped into the back. They always had a special connection, an ability to understand each other without words. “Would you like some help walking?” Evaleigh extended an arm out, ready to be an extra support if Dallas needed it. She had only assumed that was necessary after seeing the wound on his leg.

Parker leaned his head slightly into the touch on the the last trace, but he didn't have time to enjoy it before Sol was moving. Parker sat up as well, getting out of his way. "Oh, um, I guess I'll just stay here tonight," he said, after a bit of thought. "I mean, I'm already here, so might as well. If you're sure you're okay with it."
~*~*~
Anya remained silent as Aidan retold what they had done, nothing in it bad, but she did feel kind of strange to have Seth know, especially since they weren't technically suppose to have seen them. She knew there would be no real consequences, but she still felt a bit bad. It wasn't until Aidan left the room did she step over to him and placed a hand on his arm. "Are you okay?" she asked.
~*~*~
(K, K. ^^ )
Dallas laughed t her comments. "Well, I wouldn't put it passed that dog being possessed," he returned, playing off the fact that she had just hit the nail on the head without knowing it. "I'll be here," he added when she went to go get her car. While she was gone, he fished out his phone and wrote a quick message to Mathias. Hurt badly. Wake Stitch. Stranger bringing me home. He'd get shit for it later, but he would worry about it when he got there.
He returned his phone when he heard the car pulling to a stop. "That might be best," he replied, grabbing hold of her arm. It wasn't until now that he saw how bloody it was. He made a mental note to get her a new shirt, if he was still conscious once he made it home. With her help, he rose unsteadily to his feet. Climbing out of the ditch was going to be such fun, but he only had himself to blame for falling in it in the first place.

“Alright, ups we go.” She grunted, taking on Dallas’ weight. “You know, you are lighter than you look.” Evaleigh commented, not really meaning it. Thankfully the ditch was not too steep but it took some effort to get to the top. “I’m usually doing this for drunk friends and I’m not sure which I would prefer, the smell of blood or alcohol.”
Once at the car, Evaleigh eased Dallas into the passenger seat, trying to be as gentle as possible. “Let me get this for you,” She said, grabbing the seatbelt and snapping it into place. “You never know what kind of a driver I could be.” She winked before shutting the passenger door. Not like the girl could do anything crazy, she just put a donut on her car, but he didn’t know that.
She slid into her seat a moment later, also buckling in before shifting into drive. The motion of buckling up had been so ingrained into her from her parents, she sometimes just went into autopilot, and out of spite Evaleigh wanted to take her seatbelt off. She tensed with the thought but didn't go through with the action, what would the person next to her think if she did that? With a sigh, Evaleigh leaned back in her seat and turned her head towards the man in the car “So where to, Dallas?”

Parker's heart near flew from his chest as Sol kissed him. Sure, it's happened many times now, but the feeling never got old. Had he had any doubts about staying the night, they were gone now. "You could have still done it before you knew," he murmured when he needed air. He wouldn't have objected.
~*~*~
Anya nodded. At least he admitted the truth. She wanted to get him to talk to her, to tell her what he was going through. But Seth was like her. He didn't share as easily as she could. So, instead, her arms found their way around his waist and her head on his shoulder, hugging him tight. "If you need to talk, I'm here," she offered. It was the best she could do at the moment. The information Aidan had let her in on could wait for another time. Let Seth process this turn of events before piling more onto him.
"Why thank you," Dallas replied, offering another tired smile at the joke. "At least it isn't both. I don't think being drunk would have helped me much on top of everything else.
One step at a time, they made it out of the ditch. It wasn't as bad as he feared. Still hurt, but it was manageable. He sank into the passenger seat gratefully. Part of him had the thought that he was possibly ruining her seats, but the other parts were just too tired to care. "West," he muttered. "Towards the old campground. Do you know where that is?" he asked. Then still proceeded to tell her the general direction of the place. "There's an old road by the drive way there. Follow it and it'll take you towards my house. Big place, only one for miles. Can't miss it."

Evaleigh nodded, taking mental notes of the directions Dallas was giving. She had heard of the old campground, and had maybe been there a time or two but her memory failed her on where it was exactly, especially traveling by car. It all led back to her overprotective parents and their restrictions; she always had a curfew and a bedtime and sneaking out usually involved traveling by foot or catching a ride with someone else. “Got it, I’ll get us there. You can rest if you need to.” She said and started driving… ...Evaleigh had remained fairly quiet during the ride. Many things were going through her head but she also expected that Dallas needed a break. After being attacked like that, she could only imagine what kind of toll that took on you. She was just glad they were not heading back towards town, actually they had gotten pretty close to the middle of nowhere. She had driven quickly, very aware of Dallas’ condition but with every minute her curiosity grew. How did one end up so close to the highway when they lived here? The campground had looked old and the road leading up the house was surrounded by trees. So many trees, Evaleigh could imagine she would easily get lost if she ever ventured into them. Did Dallas really jog through the forest? Maybe there was a marked path through the woods. Surfacing from her thoughts, Evaleigh could see a house through a clearing. That must be it. She called out towards Dallas “Hey, I think we are here.” Evaleigh pulled into the driveway taking in the full view of the house...

Without Evaleigh talking to him, it was kind of hard to stay awake. Dallas knew he wouldn't die from blood loss, though he had lost more than he should have. The bleeding had pretty much stopped. Only if he moved and pulled the wounds open did they start again. However, infection was still a thing, as well as rabies and other illnesses he might could contract. It was better to stay awake, but last night had taken a toll on him. He hardly had the energy to stay focused on where she was going and making sure she was going the right way.
So when the woman had stated they had reached his home, he was roused from the sleep that nearly took claim of him. Dallas forced his eyes opened, and, sure enough, the large, three story cabin he and his Pack called home was looming before him. And if his eyes weren't deceiving him, there were two men waiting all the front porch. "Ah,there's the doc," he muttered, but didn't think to pinpoint and show her which one it was.
When the car had parker, both men hurried over. One was 5'8", slightly shaggy black hair and a small beard to match, and the other stood 6', blond hair cropped close to his scalp. Though it was the shorter of the two with more to work with, it was the blond that looked like be had just rolled out of bed 5 minutes ago more.
The taller man pulled opened the passenger side door and waited no time at all. "What the hell is this?" He asked, working to unbuckle him.
"I wanted to see what a chew toy felt ike," Dallas cracked, a weak smile on his face.
"Shut up, you idiot," the blond said, clearing more displeased than worried. As easy as if he were a child, the man picked up the boy and removed him from the car, none too gently at that.
"Ow, careful," Dallas groaned as he leg hit the car door.
"I'll be careful when you stop going off on your own," came the reply.
"Hmmm," Parker murmured soaking in the attention, eyes fluttering closed briefly. "I should have made you work for it then."
~•~•~
It was a small laugh, but it was a start. "And I wasn't going to say to get rid if them. They're good drawings, even if the model for them wasn't much of a girlfriend for you," she said, content with staying put for a while longer. "It's just very clear what you were hung up on for a good portion of time."

Evaleigh sighed with relief. This had been the craziest adventure so far, even if her parents did catch her, she wouldn't be too disappointed. After parking and rolling the back windows down slightly, she stepped out of the car. Her eyes scanned the house in front of her and the men too. “Wow.” she breathed. Beau was in the back seat, whining like crazy. He was very curious about the new people coming up to the car but obediently stayed, tail thumping on the seats and nose pushing through the window to catch a whiff of them. Evaleigh rounded the car, in case they needed any kind of help but was rather astonished at how easily Dallas was hoisted out her car. “Wow.” She said again and smiled to hide her humiliation for saying it twice. Her eyes trailed to her car seat that had been stained with blood but was not too concerned about it. And now that she thought about it, she was probably covered in blood too. Evaleigh looked down at her shirt briefly, recognizing the rusty red color. A good story for later maybe. “Um, hello! My name is Evaleigh. I’m just dropping off your friend here. Dallas assured me that there was a doctor who could take care of him?” Evaleigh was not sure which man was the doctor and glanced between the two of them for a confirmation that that was the truth. “I found him on the side of the highway and got here as quickly as possible. I just want to make sure that he is going to be okay.” She would feel pretty horrible if she found out this guy died because she dropped him off with his friends in the middle of nowhere instead of at the hospital.

Anya followed as Seth stepped away, laughing softly as Aidan nearly hit them. It was then that she broke the hug, knowing that it was well past time to go to bed, and that Aidan wouldn't go to sleep until they did. "We've got another busy day tomorrow. We'll need to get some rest if you're going to join us back in town," she told the boy.
The shorter man had stayed behind with the car as the other took Dallas on to the house. He had been watching them, but now turned to the young woman. "Thank you, Evaleigh," he sid, voice deeper than one might think at first glance. "I'm sorry if this has caused you much trouble. We've warned him about going off on his own, but he won't listen."
He took a second to glance at the girl's clothes, then the front seat of her car. Blood spotted both, and its take some effort to get it out. "Would you like to come inside and get cleaned up? I'm sure we've got some spare clothes you can borrow. I'll also see what we can do about getting your car cleaned up as well."

“Yeah, you need to tell him to take hikes somewhere else. Apparently the dogs around here are vicious.” Evaleigh shook her head, and here she thought she was reckless. At least at home, Evaleigh was often scolded for being impulsive “Make a plan...think before you do…” Her parents would say to her but they were wrong. Evaleigh had had an hour of freedom and was already bloody and saving a life, this would have never happened had she not been so impulsive to leave home that day.
“Would I?” She snorted “If you didn't mind, I’d highly appreciate that.” Evaleigh was glad the man had offered to come inside and clean up. The blood on her clothes did not bother her much, but she’d seize the opportunity to get a peek at the inside of the house. “I might get some weird looks if I strolled into a new town with blood on me and in my car. My goal was to stay on the down low” Probably not a good start to running away, weren't you not supposed to draw attention to yourself? Evaleigh hadn't exactly snuck out of her house with the dramatic show and all, but she still wasn't trying to get caught now.
"This place is pretty secluded, I bet a lot of people don't even know this is here" She stated while walking up to the front door with the man...

~ • ~ • ~ Seth let Anya go and leaned back agains the wall.
Aidan pouted a little but relented. "Aw, okay. Seth, you'll tell me another story, right?"
Seth's mouth opened on a no, but he couldn't get the word out. He let out a quiet breath and nodded. "Yeah, bud, I can tell you a story."
"Yeah!" He turned around and ran to his bed. He jumped in, crawled to the pillows, and kicked the covers out if the way. Then he slid in and got comfy. "Ready!"
Seth's lips twitched into another almost smile. "Okay. I just need to change and wash up for bed first, all right?" Aidan nodded. Seth turned to Anya. "Do you need the bathroom before bed?"

The man simply nodded at that. "But he's young, thinks he can do what he wants," he said. He shook his head slightly. He remembered a time when he was the same, though. There were just some lessons he had to learn the hard way.
"No, I would imagine that would make things a bit difficult," he agreed, smiling a bit. Then offered out his hand. "Names, Mathias. Come on inside, and I'll get one of the girls to help find you something to wear. Then I'll come back out here and assess the damage. You're dog is more than welcome to join us too. Won't hurt much."
At the comment about the house, he glanced over to the cabin. "Yeah, just us up here on this mountain. The land here isn't the ideal spot to build, not to mention it's a good drive to town. Not an ideal spot for most, but that just means more peace for us."
(Good with me. ^^ What should happen in the morning?)

Anya shook her head. "No, I'll just get up early and shower," she told him. They hadn't done a whole lot today, so she would be fine.

( Well, Sol will be up within the hour right before the tide turns, and all those crewmen who aren't too drunk will be up with him getting the ship ready for departure. He can wake Parker up, or Parker can be woken by Sol's leaving, or Parker can sleep through it all and get that walk of shame. xD )
~ • ~ • ~ Seth nodded. "Okay. I'll be right back." He slipped out the door and made his trip to the bathroom silently.
Once he was gone, Aidan sat up. "Anya, can I ask you a question?"
~ • ~ • ~ ( xD)
Morgan listened in silence, his gaze locked on the patient as he struggled to keep his emotions off his face. He had been trained to lie and act as well as any of the kids in the YRP, but he had always had a harder time of it when his emotions were running wild. And he felt like they had been out of his control since he walked out of Kyra's tent. He closed his eyes and focused on his breathing for several minutes before he could respond to Lawrence's story/lesson. "I don't know what you want me to tell you. I know how cruel Genevieve can be. I've been subject to her manipulation for years. You seem to think all the Riders in her household are trained to kill, but we're not. I can't just murder helpless people who can't fight back. I'm not wired that way. Maybe… maybe I should have let Ian do it if that's something he's capable of, but I didn't and now I don't know what you expect me to do. I already feel like shit for manipulating those people, so if you're trying to make me feel worse you succeeded."

Evaleigh shook Mathias’ hand firmly. “Thanks.” she responded “This is Beau, by the way.” She said while opening the back door, this time, making sure to have a strong grasp on his leash. Beau was awfully excited to be here, which was unusual for his normally laid back behavior, but, like Evaleigh, he didn’t get out much. He excitedly sniffed at Mathias’ feet before wondering off a bit to use the restroom. “Alright, we ready to go inside?” She asked her dog, resting her hand on his head then looked back up at Mathias “It is really nice and quiet out here. It feels like I could do anything I wanted, like there’s nobody watching.” She smiled at the thought.

(See, I'm torn. One one hand I want him to wake with Sol, complain it's far too earlier, and then get up when Sol threatens that the crew will know they shed a bed. On the other hand, him doing the walk if shame when no shame happened is really funny. XD)
~•~•~
"Sure, kid. What's up?" Anya asked, going over to her bed and started to pull back the covers, getting ready to turn in for the night. She kind of lied, she had to change out of her clothes, but if Seth took too long, she could send Aidan out of the room. He wouldn't be sleeping until he got his story anyway.
~•~•~
"What I want you to understand is that orders given are not given lightly," Lawrence told, his tone softening just a bit. "I'm aware not everyone under her control are bad people, but I know that they are under one of the most ruthless people I've ever known. We are not monsters here. We do not kill unless we have to. If you felt that death was not the way, then you bring them back here, let us work for a solution. If they can be spared, they will. If they're too far gone under her influence, then we must protect our own. And if you must use mind manipulation, then be sure it is not something that can cause more harm than good.
The spy master spared a glance back to Gareth. "This was the result of my orders, and I live with the guilt of knowing I caused a good man to be reduced to something less than human. I stripped him of his life for the sake of trying to spare him. If I could go back, I'd do him a favor and given him a swift, kinder end. That is my lesson learned the hard way. All I ask is you do the same. If you cannot do a mission, say so. If you were not told to do a mission, do not interfere unless it is of a life and death matter. And learn to separate personal feelings from the jobs at hand. I know it's hard, especially for someone so young, but I'm not asking you to do anything I haven't asked everyone else."
Mathias waited until Beau had done his business before leading the way up to the porch. He chuckled at her comment. "Oh, there are plenty of eyes to watch you here. Most of them just don't get up this early," he said.
Reaching the door, he held it open for girl and dog. If the outside looked huge, the inside looked more reasonable. There was still plenty of space, but the interior was decorated like a hunting lodge. It was a cozy place, with the entry way opening into both the living area and kitchen, separated by a low half wall/bar. The kitchen was up to date and held a table that could seat ten. A stairway on the far wall led up to the second floor, and a hall branched off to the west end of the house.
"If you go do the hall, first door on the right is the bathroom," Mathias told her. "Ignore the possible bickering and yelling you might hear. Stitch has his office at the end of the house. Everything will be fine, though, so don't worry too much."

( Well, if we don't do the walk of shane now, it can always happen next time — with or without any "shame" being done. xD )
~ • ~ • ~ Aidan, surprisingly, did not immediately ask his question. He watched Anya in silence for a minute, his hands bunching up the covers in his lap. He suddenly blurted, "What's love? I mean." He looked down, brow furrowed. "I sort of know. I love my mom and dad, and Star and her babies. But... how do you know when you start loving someone that's not family?"
( Oh! This wasn't my original goal, but I suddenly just had the brilliant idea to turn this into one of those moments from Trolls that we talked about, where Branch was telling Brigid what to say when he was really talking about Poppy! :D )

“Thank you!” Evaleigh responded and entered the house, keeping a tight leash on Beau. She glanced around for a moment, taking in the space before her. It was comfortable feeling and rather open, she eyed the table, 10 seats. “There must be quite a crew here.” Evaleigh had noticed that the place was empty for the moment, must be like Mathias had said, they were still sleeping.
Her eyes flicked toward the direction of the stairwell, then the hallway, reaching up to brush her bangs out of her eyes. “I’ll just be real quick.” She chimed and started down the hall, glancing back to the main entrance before entering the bathroom with her dog. Thankfully there was plenty of room for both her and Beau.
Evaleigh finally got to see herself in the mirror. Her hair had some red streaks of blood and there was some on her face even that had transferred from her hands when she had touched Dallas’ wound. The girl had to undo her braid to assure she got everything out of her hair but with soap and cold water, the blood easily washed away.
Next thing was her shirt. She carefully removed it and rinsed it under the cold water as well, turning the sink red. She probably should have asked for a new shirt before soaking this one but that wasn't on her mind. Evaleigh was curious to hear if there was some commotion going on and focused her ears. Mathias had mentioned there might be ]arguing and she was always down for a snippet of drama.

(Hmmmm, which one do you want to do? I'm up for either. XD)
~*~*~
(And I love it!!! XD)
Anya paused and looked up at Aidan. She hadn't been expecting that. At least, she hadn't expected him to ask her that. That sounded more like guy to guy conversation. "Well," she started, finishing turning down her covers as she gave actual thought to the question. She didn't want to give some generic response. Not that a generic response is wrong, but rather she had come to find that it was much more than that. "I guess there's a lot of ways to answer that. Different people will give you different answers. For me, I guess love is when you're willing to let someone into your life, to let them see the good and bad. It's not running when someone shows you the good or bad that they have. That it's understanding there's going to be things you will never understand about the other person, things that you wished they would do differently or points of view you wished they'd change, and accepting that. Love, to me, is knowing when to step up and help someone solve their problems and when to let them handle it on their own. Not to say you won't be there for them if they need it, but rather being the silent support for when they can no longer fight on their own." She paused briefly and gave a small smile. "Does that make any sense?"
~*~*~
(I think it might be much, and I have two good reasons why. If it wasn't for them, I'd say do it. XD First one being, it's been a year since he has been in this condition. The pathways and parts of his mind that got their connection cut off have probably long since died away due to not being used. That's how the brain keeps itself free of clutter, especially as a child grows. It's the same later in life too. Second, even if there was a way to heal those parts, it would take an expert Healer, one who has dedicated their studies to the brain since it is a very complex organ, to repair all those sections, and even then there wouldn't be a guarantee it would work. You mentioned that Morgan only had the patience for the basics, so the likelihood that he would be able to heal the man would be very unlikely. Now, a dragon might be able to, in their random bouts of magic, but Morgan could not.)
"Take your time. No one will be rushing you," Mathias called after her. While she did that, he turned and headed up the stairs.
As she cleaned herself up, one could hear the muffled conversation coming in the direction of Stitch's office. The words spoken in a normal volume couldn't be registered, but every now and then, Dallas would yelp out in pain, followed by either a curse or shout. "You didn't even wait for the medicine to kick in!" "Ow! You did that one on purpose!" Normally all of which would be followed by the doctor's own replies. "Stop your howling. You're acting worse that a Pup." "Well if you hadn't gone off on your own, we wouldn't be here. Now, shut up, and let me work."
Ten minutes had passed before there came a knock on the bathroom door. "Miss Evaleigh?" a female voice called out.

( I don't know! That's why I asked you. xD )
~ • ~ • ~ Aidan listened attentively, face scrunched up with concentration. He didn't understand everything she spoke of, not entirely, but he nodded anyway. "I think so. So, um... how long does it take? For someone to love you?"
Seth stood just outside the door, having made his way back as silently as he left. The door was only open a crack, but it was enough to hear Aidan's questions on love, and Anya's response. He knew he should go in, or at least make his presence known, but he hesitated, one hand on the door.
~ • ~ • ~ ( Right. Yeah, my brain didn't go into all those details, but I did use the word "miracle" correctly, cause that's what it would be if Morgan fixed this guy. xD )

(Ok, ok, uh, um..... Let's save the walk of shame. I think we can dedicate more to that when Parker's fully committed to the relationship. XD)
~*~*~
Anya smiled now, thinking that there must have been someone the boy was crushing on. "Again, it's different from person to person. Sometimes it takes weeks, or months, or years. Sometimes it can take a matter of days," she answered. "But that doesn't really give you a clear answer does it? Hmm, well, if you're talking about someone loving you like family, I think a few days. After all, I love you, my mother loves you. But if you're talking about a girlfriend or boyfriend, it's tricky. Sometimes people know it's love right away, and sometimes they just need time to fully understand what's happening."
~*~*~
(Lol, that you did. Doesn't mean Morgan can't try. I think he would attempt something, but I think he'd also be able to tell if his skills would be enough or not. And since he's not as invested or attached to this man as he is with Kyra, I think he'll save his miracle for her only. ^^ )

(Yep! Should I start or you?) ~•~•~ "No, Aidan, you weren't bad," Anya corrected. From his reaction, she guessed this was more where his mind was at rather than on a crush. She walked around the beds until she came to sit beside him on his. "You did what you had to do in order to survive," she continued, putting an arm over his shoulders and keeping it there. "There is a difference. Was stealing wrong? Yes, but no one else was offering you help. What else were you to do? You couldn't have left town. You wouldn't have made it, so you had to make a difficult choice in order to care for yourself and for Star. Other people just don't see what all you've been through. They don't understand, so they just label you as whatever so they can justify themselves. You are not bad, Aidan. Never were, never will be. So, yes, I love you, and all you're antics." ~•~•~ (Sounds like a Morgan thing to do. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6575102/images/lNtnPuxeCzkaKMNYVXVv.gif) Have at it. ^^ )

( I can, since I'm awake though slowly falling asleep. xD )
It wasn't often Sol lost track of time, even while with lovers in the past. But time was of little importance to him while kissing Parker — which he did for an unknown length of time last night, in between bouts of conversation about random yet meaningful things. It was quite late when they finally went to bed. Sol lent Parker some sleepwear, and Sol himself wore something other than his clothes to bed for the first time in... he couldn't even remember when. Normally he just ended up falling asleep in his clothes after working himself to exhaustion.
He wasn't exhausted when he went to bed last night, but he still fell asleep fairly quickly. Quickly for him, anyway. He slept only a handful of hours, but they were restful hours and he had to wonder what Parker's secret was. Thrice now Sol had shared a bed (or a treehouse deck) with the man, and all three times he had slept better than he had in years. The first time he had even overslept his usual wake up time, which never happened. Sol knew what his sister and other romantics would think the answer was, but Sol knew himself well enough to know love wasn't the answer. There was definitely something there, he wouldn't deny that, but it wasn't love. It was a mystery, one he planned to take full advantage of, even if it made him an ass.
As he'd told Parker, the sea woke him when it was time. He came awake and lay still for a minute. He was a little toasty, thanks to the two bodies on either side of him. At his back: Artemis, with her head on his pillow. His own head had ended up on Parker's pillow at some point, probably about the same time Parker had turned him into a cuddle buddy. Sol had never been much of a cuddler, but that had more to do with not sleeping in the same bed as another person. He was finding that, with the right person, it wasn't half bad. It did make it a little hard to get up, though, especially with a sleeping dog blocking his only escape route.
He had to wake up a very reluctant Artemis and kick her out of bed before he could slide out from under Parker and get up. He ran his hand through his sleep mussed hair and studied the sleeping man for a minute. Then he started moving silently around the room, getting dressed. Clean black tailored pants, loose white shirt, open at the collar. His boots and weapons belt, currently devoid of weapons. And his favored black frock coat with blood red trim, left unbuttoned.
Once dressed, he slipped from the room, his dogs on his heels. He fed them, and while they ate he tidied up the mess from last night. Not that it was much of a mess. Then he took his dogs out for a short walk in the predawn light. When he returned, it was time.
He wavered for a moment before entering his quarters again. He had been about to rouse Beckham, and from there the crew. But Parker's reservations about sharing sleeping quarters had him returning to his own bedroom first to wake the sleeping beauty.
For half a second, Sol considered sending Apollo in to wake him up. But that wouldn't have been as fun as doing it himself. Funny, but not fun. He sat on the edge of the bed and lightly tapped Parker's nose with a fingertip. "Parker," he said softly. "The rooster is crowing." Not here, obviously, but Parker had told him about his farm's alarm clock the night before and it was nearing the time when the bird would be earning its name.
~ • ~ • ~ Aidan leaned into her embrace and tucked himself into her side. He sniffled quietly and smiled shakily up at her. "I love you too. I don't want to have to be bad anymore."
~ • ~ • ~ ( Aye aye! ... I will do that in the morning. I'm definitely falling asleep over here now. xD )

Evaleigh was done washing up in the bathroom and had listened the whole time to Dallas' and the doctors shouts. They had quite a way of talking to each other. Their speech often included references to dogs and she wondered if the doctor practiced on people or animals? A veterinarian would be just as able to work on a person as they would a dog, at least, she had seen it in the movies. She jumped a little at the knock on the door, a sudden intrusion to her thoughts. Evaleigh opened the door slightly, sticking her head in the crack, Beau doing the same. "Yes?" she replied, brown eyes scanning the person in front of her "Oh, are the one with the shirt I can borrow? Dallas kind of made a mess of mine." She explained after seeing it was another female.

(🤣
Sol! XD Using poor Parker just to sleep better. I don't know it should find that bad or funny as hell. XD)
Parker never had issues staying asleep. Although he had his share of nights where he couldn't seem to find sheep's call, he could usually go out into the fresh night air and clear his mind enough to find it. Then once he was asleep, he'd stay asleep. So far, he had only had one of those type of nights while on the ship, and that was when he and the rest of the rescues boarded the Comet. Since then, he's found that sleeping on the boat had been fairly easy.
What he hadn't realized before, was how nice it was to cuddle someone. Sure, he had shared close sleeping quarters before, but those times had never had any romantic inclinations to them. He wasn't looking for the company. Well, perhaps he might have at one time sought Warren's, but that had never even got started. When he had fallen asleep in Sol's bed, he hadn't meant to be so close. There was actually a few inches separating them as they lied there. He figured that they didn't have to be right in each other's personal space all the time. Yet as the night wore on and the chill started to settle, the man had found himself closer to the captain anyway. Then at some point in the night, an arm had been draped over his side, and that was how he stayed.
When morning rolled around, Parker had noticed when Sol left. However, his sleep filled mind didn't fully register that it was morning. He would be back. Probably had to take care of the dogs. So he pulled the covers around him and let himself drift back to sleep. That is, until he felt someone poke his nose.
Parker gave a short groan in protest. "The rooster can jump in the tide," he muttered. He was too warm too move.
~•~•~
"Well, you're having a pretty good start," Anya told him, returning his smile. "You haven't done anything you think is bad since we meet you. You've got all you need right here. And anything you don't have, you have plenty of people here to help you get it, the right way."
~•~•~
(Lol, okay!)
The woman who stood on the other side of the door was an average sized, middle aged woman with curly, shoulder length brown hair, brown eyes, and a nose lightly dusted in freckles. She was a little more on the curvy side, and she had a calm air about her.
"Yes, that would be me," she responded with a smile. "My name is Emma, I'm Mathias's wife. I brought you a couple because I wasn't sure what size you were. If you would like, I can see if I can get the blood out of your shirt if it's not too bad."
