When I first read OotS, I shipped Ivypool and Hollyleaf because I thought it was cute that Ivypool wanted to get to know them more and I wanted them to have a mature friendship. What do people think about this pairing?

I started shipping Hollyleaf and Ivypool together while reading OotS for the first time as a tween. More specifically during The Forgotten Warrior and in The Last Hope because those are the two books featuring their interesting interactions. I still ship HollyIvy while also having moved on since then to HollyWillow and IvyFern. But just like HollyCinder which I no longer ship at all, HollyIvy will always have a special place in my heart. That probably sounds way weirder than it actually is though.

I like them as friends but I can't ship them when Willowshine and Cinderheart exist. I wish their friendship was explored more, much like all of Hollyleaf's friendships

it's a bit weird to me because Lionblaze, who was Hollyleaf's littermate, was the mentor of Dovewing, who was Ivypool's littermate so it'd be a bit like your twin dating your teacher's twin.

HollyIvy is a guilty pleasure. I shouldn't like it as much as I do but I can't help it.

I've never really shipped them together and I kinda prefer a relationship where they can relate to one another well.

I ship it, and I don't mind their friendship either, it's nice, but I do prefer HollyCinder and IvyFern.

I like them better as friends. I also HC Hollyleaf as Asexual. So I don't really see her with anyone. But I do enjoy her close friendship with Cinderheart

I don't ship them but I likes their scenes together. They probably related to each other a lot and I like that dynamic of "leftovers" from the prophecy.

I don't ship them. They seem to have more of a mentor/apprentice vibe.

no
it makes me uncomfortable how a large bulk of the fandom ships together every two female characters who have any sort of meaningful bond or conversation. it feels fetish-y. and also as if friendship is somehow lower tier/less meaningful than romantic interest.

Prefer HollyWillow or HollyFallen and IvyFern

Although both ships involve related characters, HollyIvy is less palatable to the fandom considering its mentioned in canon that Dovewing is a part of the prophecy; related to Firestar and therefore Hollyleaf. This puts Ivypool in the same boat. Whereas the average person could forget/be unaware/etc that Fernsong and Ivypool are related since its not directly in writing. I'm not a fan of either ship for various reasons but that's likely why one is supported more than the other.

Not a fan of this ship at all. Both IvyFern and this are related. There is literally a prophecy about them being related.

big fan of them as besties, but as a ship it's just super gross to me. maybe if they were extremely distantly related i could handle it ? even then i prefer cinderholly and ivystorm.

huge dislike. not only are they related, but this fandom has a obsession with shipping ever female character that even slightly interact with each other, even if it isn’t positive. would it really kill this community to let to she-cats be friends?

I've always headcanon'd them both as Aroace so no.
I think I put this on here before, but I always thought it would be Holly that taught Ivy about being Aroace and that she wasn't broken from the DF. Holly would be her role model and someone she could look up to, being in the same boat with prophecies and feeling ostracized from their Clan, but still loving their family.

I'm seeing a theme of "they're too closely related" when... they're not really??? They're second cousins once removed, but you have to remember these cats are living in really small groups, and so relation that close is going to happen.
But I don't ship this. I'm a fan of HollyCinder, and IvyFern is just too cute.

[br Yes, this also annoys me, like just because two she-cats are close friends doesnt mean they have any romantic attraction towards eachother. To put it simpy: You can be close friends with someone without being in love with them.

While I see where you're coming from, I don't think it's fair to judge the reasons why people ship these kinds of ships. After all, it is their own opinion.

While I see where you're coming from, I don't think it's fair to judge the reasons why people ship these kinds of ships. After all, it is their own opinion. im not commenting on any one person specifically. i'm just speaking about a general fandom trend that makes me uncomfortable. i've seen on threads (with prompts such as "what are all your warrior ships?") where numerous people will have these huge lists and it's 90% female characters who have any sort of bond. people do it with male friendships too. it's a little creepy. also... i can't say i agree with the idea that it's unfair in principio to judge someone's ships. there's plenty of valid reasons to cast judgement on "mere opinions", namely the problematic foundation on which they might rest.
