(( Oh lucky! What kind of job do you have?? I need one of those xD)) Nathan always knew his friend was a little crazy. "Sharks?" he scoffed, but that smile of his remained. "Kimmy you're crazy! Wait until I get out before you go hugging some tiger shark," he added, laughing a little at his friend who was now laying back on her board. "Yeah, we can chill. I'm not gonna sit here though it I see a good wave though." he warned with a wink, eyes looking over to the horizon to give the area a little watch with his eyes. Any time Nathan saw a good wave, he always had to go for it. Surfing was his life after all. Nathan was probably one of the few seniors in his high school who planned not to go to college, but to become a full-time surfer. He wanted to surf for a living, to do what he loved all day, to be amazing at what made him feel amazing. His big sister had been a professional surfer for a while, but decided to move to Miami to go to college. But when she was one, Nathan remembered just how happy she had been every day. And he wanted that too. Along the line that separated sky from water, Nathan saw a ripple, a good ripple, one that seemed to actually grow quickly and tall. "Called it!" Nathan said, arms in the air, before he started paddling. "Watch and learn~!" he teased back at Kimberly. But he wasn't planning to show off. Actually he wanted to joke around and act like he was being a hotshot, then just fall off and make a nice splash instead. By the time Nathan met the wave, it was swelled into a good one, but not the best. Not by far. An even better excuse to just mess around~ He stood up on his board when he caught the momentum, just cruising along the length. Blue eyes looked over to his friend and he gave a rather goofy wave, before he pretended to lose his balance, and with a little hop he jumped off his board into the water. Know it or not, but when he did that, he was right over a bed of small coral. He didn't get a cut, kind of, maybe a little. Small enough that he didn't even feel it on his right arm. Nathan popped up with his board and just laughed, paddling back over to his friend. "Did you learn anything, young grasshopper?" he asked her, smirk on his lips.

(I work in a small hobby store. ^^ No one really comes in. xD)
"Awh you're no fun. Sharks are just water dogs." Kim defended as she laid on her board peacefully for a moment. However as she got a bit deeper in she moved to her stomach, and gazed into the light blue ocean smiling at the fish she could make out. "Fine I'll let you out first, but when you get jealous cause I hugged the big fellow don't come crying to me." She joked as she watched a small fish swimming near the surface.
"Well of course you're not gonna sit here, you never do." She laughed as she lost the fish in the huge sea. She was quite aware of his dreams, and supported him fully. She just was laid back personally, and only surfed when she felt the wave was worth the effort of getting up for. So when Nathan called out a wave she simply watched him with a smile on her face. "Oh I'll learn something alright." She teased as her green eyes followed him as he went towards the wave. She deemed it personally not worthy enough for her to make the effort she'd wait for something bigger.
Kim watched him give her his patent goofy wave, and couldn't help as she laughed a bit. Nathan could be such a big goof ball sometimes, and could always find a way to make her laugh with his weirdness. She watched him fake a wipe out, and started moving her board to where he landed in his fake fall meeting him halfway. "Oh yea I sure learned something. That my best friend is real life Goofy." She joked as she moved to a sitting position on her board. She didn't know her friend got a cut, and she wasn't too worried either as this was the kind of stuff they did all the time. "I hope you do better when you go pro~." She added clearly teasing as she looked back at the water looking for any other sign of fish. "I think I could do better." She stated looking for a wave to attempt to show it, and to her luck there was one.
She moved her board to the wave making sure to catch it at the right time, and once she reached it she stood up. She wasn't a complete bad surfer despite having interest in other things, though she wasn't the best either. She watched the wall of water beside her with a smile, and then turned back to give Nathan a thumbs up. Her eyes finding her friend easily. It seemed she was luck as she didn't sense she'd wipe out this time.
(I figured it'd be a good idea for her to see the attack while she's a bit away from him.)

robin: Sure c: What kind of stuff do you like? Salted Squid: I work at a store called Winn-Dixie. It was fun when I started, and it's still not bad, but I deifnately think I'm ready to move on xD Sabby The Caddy: (( Aww lucky. I work at a store on our city's busiest street and it's pretty close to the Alabama/Mississippi line so we get traffic from both ways. Let the bloodbath begin >:3 )) Nathan smirked once more at her, and gave a laugh that sounded almost spot on like Goofy. "Aw shucks~" he gushed, waving his hand at her. He never really knew why he acted so goofy all the time. Maybe because he liked making people laugh? Or because he used to do it all the time in school because it was easier to make friends that way. Any other way, it had just become a habit of his to try to act funny any time he could. He watched his friend swim off to meet the wave. She was always so graceful when she surfed, and Nathan had a pretty big feeling it had to do with her love of the ocean and the marine life in it. Honestly it made him think of a hippie, how she loved the ocean and was always so relaxed and calm, how she wanted to hug sharks like hippies wanted to hug trees. Nathan saw his friend stand up on the board and he waved in her direction, and he wondered if she would wipe out too. Kim seemed to always like to act up and wipe out for no reason. Watching her, however, mesmerized him, taking away all his attention. Probably a little too much, as it made him unaware of other things around him like fish, other surfers... Oh, and sharks. How ironic was it that a shark wanted to hug him too? In the water? With its teeth? As Nathan watched, he never noticed the terrifying creature coming towards him until he felt it. From no where Nathan saw from the corner of his eye a gray blur as an eleven foot tiger shark hurled out of the ocean, and latched teeth to Nathan's arm, and they both went back into the water just as Nathan let out a startled yell. The pain was sudden and fierce, and almost instantly he felt the tiger shark let go, then latch back on, head thrashing back and forth in a tearing motion. The ocean turned red quickly as he felt his skin being ripped, muscle shredded. Nathan tried to think and focus, he knew it was smart to kick at the gills. But at the same time, he was so shocked that it was hard to think on anything else but "am I gonna die?" It seemed to go on for ages, but for some reason he felt the shark let go. Through the murky red seas Nathan saw it swim away, as if it lost interest. And maybe he was crazy, but he could have sworn he saw bits of flesh floating around... Kicking his feet, Nathan tried to surface, to breathe. Thank goodness he had large lungs... But he had been getting lightheaded since he never really got a breath in, and he knew he had to be deeper than he would have liked. Miraculously, however, his head popped up, instantly coughing as he tried to breathe, but as he started breathing, he found it hard, he found his legs numb and his head light, and all he saw was red, not blue. And it made his heart race. And it all clicked in the woozy mind of his. He had just been attacked by a tiger shark, one of the main sharks that caused fatal attacks. And his mind could only think that he was about to die, or he was already dead or close to it. His vision had already blurred and he felt faint, but something told him to just keep kicking.

(That'd suck. I love my job since half the time I just get to mess with yarn.)
Kim was in a simple moment of peace as she watched ocean beside her as she curved her board to exit the wave. She loved the sea so very much, every inch itch of. The water itself, the fish, the jelly fish, the coral, the seaweed, and even the large dogs inside the sea known as sharks. A smile on her face however turned to a blank face as she heard the sound she only heard in movies. The thrashing of water, and her eyes darted to find out where it was coming of. To her dismay it was coming from a specific spot she had just left Nathan at. A spot that didn't have it's peaceful blue color anymore, but a red color. The color of death, with that thought she began heading towards it. No thoughts in her mind except making sure Nathan was alright.
"Nathan!" Her worried voice called out as she began nearing the red water. Her eyes watched for her friend, any sign of him at all. As she searched her eyes saw it. Not her friend, but a tiger shark swimming away the opposite way thankfully. Her eyes followed it for a moment as she wanted to make sure it wasn't simply circling around for another go. However as her eyes followed it she heard Nathan's head come up from the bloody water. Her mind was in a lose on what to do, but the first thing she did was to grab her friend's hand. Getting him out of the water should be her friend piritory. She had never really witnessed a shark attack outside of a movie so she wasn't sure what she should all be doing.
Moving back on her board as she pulled her friend's body onto her board thanking god she had bought a longboard over a short one. "Nathan! Nathan!" She called to him trying to see if he was responsive. "I'm going to get you land, stay with me.... Nathan!" She called frantic is motion as she looked at the beach. Thinking of what to do she jumped into the water so she could push the board. Sure she could have took the safe route of staying on the board, but she figured this would be fast.
"Nathan, you're going to make it!" She called as she held onto the board, and kicked her way heading back to the town. "Don't you leave me, you hear me!?" She added her breath getting heavier as she was kicking with all her might. It was quite odd for her to put this must physical effort into something, and she regretted not taking swimming lessons. Everytime she dared take a glance at the beach she would sigh, bite her lip, and attempt to kick her legs even faster. She didn't know anything else she should have done. Maybe tend to his wound, but she didn't want to risk making his wound worse.
(Alright not sure if her making it back by herself in time is realistic, or not. So I'm going to make two different versions.)
"Nathan we're almost there! Don't you dare leave me, I'll beat you if you do!" Kim yelled a string of sadness in her heart as she continued swimming as fast as she could. It took a few minutes since she was such a small girl, but a few moments later the surfboard scraped against the sandy beach. She quickly got to her feet, and looked around for someone. "Someone, call an ambulance!" She yelled as loud as she could looking around. "Call an ambulance, call an ambulance!" She kept going, and going as she finally turned to Nathan, and got a better look at his leg.
(The alt version)
Kim kept going as much as she could her legs not stopping, but as she dared take another glance at the shore her heart just skipped a beat. Why!? Why was she such a small girl!? She was still about a mile away from the shore, and she was out of it. As her legs slowed down she remembered most shark movies that they'd yell shark for help. So she decided to attempt that maybe someone had a jet ski that could get to them faster. "Someone help! Shark!" She yelled out hoping adding shark would help. With that she looked at the shore one more time. "Help! He's been attacked!" She let out as she looked back at Nathan. She didn't really have anything to fasten around his wound to apply pressure which made her curse at herself. She decided to take a glance backwards just in case the shark did circle around, but she let out a sigh of relief not seeing a fin. She focused her gaze back at the shore. "Someone!" The entire time she yelled she tired her best to get her small lazy legs to kick start back up just in case no one heard her.

robin: ( I like realistic and historical too c: What kind of stuff in historical? Like do you like 1920s stuff or even further back in the 1700s, just to use as example x3 History always gets my attention~)) Salted Squid: Omg awesome!! Is it like a grocery store or something else? Cause you chose one hectic week to start x3)) Sabby The Caddy: (( I think the first alternative works great ^u^ We'll roll with that one if that's chill~ )) Nathan had still been conscious and, strangely, responsive too. He had tried to help himself up on the board to make it easier on her. But it was weird. Why couldn't he move his right arm? It was his stronger arm (being the dominant), so he was always aware that he used it very often. But laying on that board cleared his mind of that for a little. He felt his legs leg throbbing and burning from the salt water, and his shoulder was also throbbing, but it felt very numb at the same time. The sensation made him reach up, to touch it and try to wake it up. When his hand met the board instead of his arm, NAthan felt confused. He turned his head to look and, through that blurry vision, he noticed not an arm but just blood on the cherry blossom board. Further up he finally saw his arm... Kind of. More like his shoulder where his arm used to be attached to. And just seeing the shredded flesh and blood made his shoulder catch fire, a grimace rising to his face as his other left hand reached to grab it, to try to make it go away. Behind him he heard Kimberly shouting at him. It was hard to hear, but he could hear her voice. And it distracted him enough from the pain to make him let go and, with a now rather bloody hand, rest his on one of hers just as they came to the more shallow area of the shoreline. Further back onto the beach, bystanders had begun to hear the struggling, even if it was kind of far out there. The beach wasn't crowded and was manned by only one lifeguard since it was so early in the day. But that lifeguard on duty happened to be a pretty good friend of Nathan and Kimberly. The sharpest of curses flew out of his lips as he jumped right off his post, running out into the water to meet the duo. He grabbed the other end of the board to help move Nathan to the sand. When Travis saw the stump he felt sick. THis was one of his best friends, and to see him like that was absolutely terrifying. But then he noticed Nathan was still away, so with a now pale face he leaned over to look at him, giving him that smile he had been taught to use to comfort people in pain for worry back in lifeguard training. "You'll be okay Nathan, alright?" he told him, waving to Kimberly to come over. "We're gonna get you to a doctor. I just want you to talk to Kimberly okay?" He was trying to use that to indirectly tell Kimberly to keep him talking. If he passed out or fell asleep, he could quickly be in a lot more trouble than he was now. Travis pulled off his own shirt and pressed it to the wound, examining everything else. There was another bit mark on Nathan's calf, probably the taste test before the main meal. Travis freed up one hand to grab his phone out of his pocket, which luckily had a waterproof case on it, and dialed for an ambulance. Directions were told quickly so they would know where to go, then he hung up and looked at Kimberly, eyes saying it all. This was bad, like really bad.

Kim couldn't help, but sigh in relief when Travis called an ambulance for Nathan. She was deep worried for her best friend, and the look Travis gave her didn't make her less worried, in fact it did the complete opposite. It took a moment before she looked back at Nathan her worried eyes looking over his right shoulder. "Hey Nathan, you keep hanging in there." She commented crouching, and grabbing his left arm tightly trying to keep him from going to sleep. Her mind was still racing, and now she was looking for something to say. What does one say in this situation.... Should she talk about what happened, or change the subject? She thought for a moment looking at him before forcing a smile trying to change the subject to something happier, and not about the attack.
It took a moment before she could come up with anything. "Did you see me, I didn't wipe out." She commented using the conversation they would have had if the shark hand't attacked. "Maybe I'm the one who should be teaching the grasshopper." She teased her voice trying to sound friendly, and light hearted. Though how could one pretend like everything was okay when her best friend was dying in front of her. Her eyes went to Travis for a moment before she returned her gaze back to Nathan. She was hoping the ambulance would just appear, and fix up Nathan.
Her mind went back into thought for a moment before she shook her head returning back to reality. Her mind wanted to just turn off, she didn't want to see Nathan dying in front of her. She never thought something like this would happen to someone she cared for. After a moment of silence she let go of his hand deciding to place her palm on his cheek hoping that would work better. "Nathan don't go to sleep on me, please." She begged her forced tone had vanished she was never good actor. She looked back up at Travis, and the surrounding onlookers for a moment before turning back to Nathan. "Hey look you're the life of the party Nathan, so now you can't go sleeping on me." She let out at this point just saying the first thing that came into her mind,

Nathan knew it was dumb to close his eyes, even if it sounded nice to sleep and wake up all better. His mind still hadn't pieced everything together, and even if he felt his arm gone, it hadn't clicked that it had basically had it completely ripped off. All he knew was that everything hurt, even his lungs burned from holding his breath and coughing. And the more he thought about it, the better sleep sounded.
He felt Kimmy's hand move from his arm and to his cheek, and instinct just made his own hand rest on hers, giving her a small smile. Talking wasn't part of the plan though, his throat burned and he felt too tired to even be bothered to try. But he knew that he needed to still smile so she could still smile too. Scaring her was never something he liked. Even when he would tease her and she would pretend to get upset, he knew she was only pretending, but it would always make him quickly do something to make her smile again.
Even if the clock was ticking fast, time felt like it was moving slow. The ambulance seemed to take its time getting there, and yet it had only been ten minutes by the time the sirens could be heard. Travis motioned for something to go catch them and direct them, and gladly one young man took off, waving his arms to show them where to go.
Travis stood up and smiled at Kimberly. "You want to come with me and take a ride with them?" he asked her. He was sure she would probably agree. After all, this was her best friend. But at the same time she wouldn't blame her for refusing. This was probably terrifying to her, and waiting so long when she could do nothing was probably sheer torture.
As he asked that, the ambulance came up and a couple of kind paramedics came to quickly but carefully get Nathan into the back of the box-like truck.
(( Aaaaaand this is going to be my only post for the day... Got to go get ready for work, and I don't get off until 11..))

(Congrats on your team winning! ^^ Alright see ya later.)
Kim's eyes raced all over the place during this whole time as she went from Nathan, to Travis, and to where the ambulance was suppose to come. Thankfully after what seemed like forever she saw the ambulance come into view, and she took a few steps back to let them do their thing. She was worried, but Kim wasn't one of those people who were about to get in the way because she wanted to be near him the entire time. Sure she did want that, but she wasn't going to delay the paramatics works. She stood off to the side slightly her worried eyes watching as they lifted her best friend into the ambulance. She tried her best to not look at what was left of his arm as she stared mainly at his face.
Her mind once Nathan was in the ambulance started to wonder off into thoughts about the future. It wasn't until Travis' offer came that she snapped back into reality. It was a conflicting offer to her, and she didn't answer right away. She didn't really want to be in the way of the paramedics she knew in situations like this they began work while in the ambulance. However on the other hand she wanted to make sure Nathan was getting the best treatment. Her eyes then went to the old red pick up truck she could just take his truck. 'He'd need it right..... No no he'll definitely need it!' She shook her head at the question in her head. She didn't want to think on what if he didn't make it, but the thought seemed to find it's way into her mind every time she saw the wound of Nathan's.
Realizing Nathan was inside, and they were ready to get going she looked at Travis. "I'm going to take his truck." She mumbled as she looked back at the ambulance. Just sitting here was killing her, why couldn't she have wanted to be a doctor? Her eyes went back to Travis for a moment. "You better make sure he get's the very best treatment in there." She told him before heading off to go grab her bag in which she knew Nathan's stuff was in as he always tended to use her bag. Upon reaching it she dug into it finding Nathan's towel which would surely have his keys located inside it of. Upon finding it she grabbed the rest of her bag, and headed to the truck. By this time the ambulance was gone, and the beach was emptying out for the most part. Her eyes found her bloodied board where she had left it, and then her eyes went to the sea remembering Nathan's board was still out there. She found the still red spot in the distance, and a bit away from it was the board belonging to Nathan.
However she decided to leave both boards as she unlocked Nathan's truck, and got behind the wheel of the old machine. She wanted to be in the hospital as soon as possible. Inserting the key she turned it, and with a little effort she got the old beast to rumble. Making sure her way was clear she got on the road heading to where her best friend would be taken. Luckily this town only really had one hospital so she knew exactly where they were going. It took her about fifteen minutes to reach it since she didn't have the benefits of a siren to stop traffic. She parked the car in the emergency section, and turned off the key.
Though she didn't get out right away, she took a moment to finally let the tears come so she could avoid doing it inside. Her best friend could be dying inside there, and all she could do was sit there, and wait while the doctor's did there thing. After a minute of just resting her forehead on the wheel of the old truck she opened the door wiping her eyes. She had put on her shorts, and white shirt before going inside. Reaching inside her eyes soon found Travis near the waiting room, and she walked over. "What they'd say?" She dared ask .

(( Thanks ^^ I'm starting on a reply now~ I may be heading off to bed soon but idk xD))
Travis didn't want to pressure Kimberly into anything. Even if he wanted to tell her to worry about the truck later, he knew she maybe just didn't want to have to sit there and watch helplessly. Honestly, Travis almost wanted to ask if he could go with her. But at the same time, he felt the need to get in the back of the ambulance. "Alright. I'll meet you there okay. Please drive safe." he told her, giving her thin shoulder a squeeze before he ran over to the truck to hop in.
As the ambulance sped off, Travis could only watch, and only wait as they grew closer to the hospital. He knew not to think negative, but he still couldn't stop but wonder it he was about to watch his best friend die, right in front of him.
Finally they made it, and Travis was left in the back as he watched them run with Nathan into the hospital. On the way there Travis had almost started to panic, seeing his friend's eyes close. He was assured he had only passed out from blood loss, but Travis was terrified that he had died...
Once he had calmed his nerves enough to be able to stand without his knees knocking together, Travis got out of the back of the ambulance and walked into the waiting room of the emergency area of the hospital. He sat down and instantly rested his head in his hands, not even caring about the blood of his friend getting all in his brown locks. He looked like a mess, and people stared at him, but he didn't care. All he wanted was to know if everything was okay.
He heard Kimberly's voice and he looked up, not given time to wipe the gathered tears from his eyes and cheeks. "Nothing yet." he breathed, head gesturing to the chair beside him. "It may still take a while. Sit down if you want..." he trailed off and shook his head. "How did I not see the shark coming? I'm sorry Kim." he breathed and looked back up at him. "I could have warned you guys."
(( I'm so sorry this is so bad ;^; I'm literally falling asleep right now..))

Kim didn't say anything at that response. She hoping the doctors would have given them a 'He'll be okay', or 'We'll try are best' at the very least, but it seemed they were left with nothing. Her eyes went to the seat, but she had been sitting the whole time over here, and chose to pace over sit. She listened to Travis, and shook her head. "It's not your fault." She simply said her voice not having it's friendly tone it was merely just a forced out statement. "I was the one who mere minutes before that was talking about wanting to see one....." She mumbled making small fists at her side. She could still see it swimming away not caring what it did. Had it been anyone else, even herself who was attacked she'd probably defend the shark. However it had chosen the wrong person, and at this moment she wanted that shark to be someone's next meal.
Her pacing kept getting faster, and faster until she finally chose to sit down. However pacing turned into her knee bouncing up, and down as she wanted a sign. Just a single sign that her best friend was going to live. At one point she was even praying for it. As time kept passing the tears she was trying to hide from the public would come out. She would switch from one minute thumping her leg to the next crying. Why did she say that statement earlier. Maybe if she didn't say it she wouldn't have given the chance to see one. Maybe her best friend would be surfing that wave rather than being operated on.
(Don't worry about I wasn't expecting you to reply at all tonight. x3 Good night. Also sorry for my post, but I didn't really know what to do past this since it's just her waiting.)

(( Sorry I took so long to get on here today ^^' I went out to the pool for a while but now I'm home with literally nothing to do xD))
Travis would constantly check his watch for the time. one hour, two, three... Seriously, what was taking so long? Sure maybe his injuries had been extensive, but for it to take so long... Travis would glance at Kimberly constantly to make sure she was okay, leaning over to give her a hug or to give her comforting words when he would catch her crying or see she seemed close to or, or if he just felt it was needed.
Three and a half hours passed when finally a kind doctor walked out,, calling for the friends of Nathan. Travis stood up and offered Kim his hand to help her up and lead her over, but the doctor had beat them over by meeting them at the chairs. "Your friend is going to be okay. He made it just fine and we're just waiting to get him a room. We already have one reserved if you'd like to go there and wait for him." he offered.
Travis quickly gave him the positive answer, looking to Kimberly to make sure it would be okay for her if she wanted to go or not. He knew he would be going, but if the girl wanted to go, it was all up to her. After all this he honestly wouldn't blame her if she wanted to just go home and try to stop worrying now that they knew he would be okay. But at the same time, he knew she would also want to be the first person he sees when he would wake up.
